Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.
He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.
An excellent volume, it was so delightfully creepy, nerve-wracking and engaging.
Jolyne is a badass, I love her. I'm super curious to see the development and the history between Jolyne and her father Jotaro. The mystery part of the Stand abilities and fighting against them was even the more intense mindfuck than I'm used to!
The illustrations are truly stunning, Hirohiko Araki is so talented.
Oh Jotaro who let you out the door dressed like THAT. I was never really his biggest fan but when he said 'I always cherished you' it went straight to my heart and keeled me over, so what do I know. I bow down to you Araki
I really like how Araki gets into aspects of prison life, like how Jolyne needs to protect her credibility.
I'm also excited to see Jotaro again, even if he doesn't do much. Jojo is at it's best when it leans into the multigenerational aspect of the story. As I predicted back when I first read part 1, pieces of the story become even more enjoyable as they become mythologized in retrospect. And at this point we're down to Jonathan's great great great grandaughter, which is wild.
Where we are currently, Jotaro is repeating his father's absentee parenting style. And it has made Jolyne a bit of a hard ass, as he was. However, she is a bit softer, a bit more approachable. She can be abrasive, but she's far from the stoic enigma that Jotaro is. Once again, two Joestars are teaming up to fight Dio. Except this time, it's not Dio acting directly. Just as the Joestars have created descendants, Dio has a legacy of his own. His "descendants" are those that he won over during his time in the modern world. It's a pretty cool premise. I particularly like seeing Jotaro reluctantly take up the role of an older mentor in the same way Joseph did.
Manhattan Tranfer is a pretty neat idea with I design I like a lot. It's user is also cool. The blind sniper is a trope I will never tire of, especially with the cool transforming cane. He kind of reminds me of N'Doul, now that I think about it.
However, this good work is all for naught, because we get one of my most hated plot devices. It was all a dream. I used to read Word Up magazine. And none of that battle happened. Which I just don't get the point of from a storytelling perspective. What was the motivation for giving us a drawn out battle in a dream sequence only to undo it? It feels like a waste of time. If it weren't for that, I might give this volume a 5/5, but here we are. Otherwise, it's good setup moving forward.
JOTARO!!! oh god y’all don’t even know how their dynamic plagues me. i have too many think pieces in my google docs about how bad he messed her (and his ex wife who doesn’t even have a name!!!) up. i love him tho. bastard man.
so far so good. i’m extremely intrigued and i’m slowly getting used to reading on my phone (which i HATED before this).
JOTAROOOOO UGH MY GIRL DAD i am back to reading jjba because part 7 is calling to me but before we get to that we got this. MR BLIND ASS GUY UGH always a pleasure to see you i just forget how much i enjoy jolyne my JOESTAR QUEEN
Why the heck does Pucci have to reset the universe. At least this leaves some opportunities for the original timeline since Araki is now writing part 8 which is in an alternate timeline.

Jotaro makes his appearance!! This part is full of Action, Araki never ceases to amaze me <3 And the stand user abilities have such variety, I like how this idea is continuously evolved.
I have no idea what's going on, but 1: It's weird to see Jotaro as a dad 2: Jolyne is saying "oraoraoraora" like her dad. Like father like daughter, I guess. 3: Dio... you again?
In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part.6 Stone Ocean. The main antagonist has an ability (which in JJBA is identified as a stand) that lets him take the stands and memories of others. He uses this ability to his advantage many times to send unique people that have been given the best stand suited to them to try and stop the main character Jolyne Cujoh from taking her father disk back from the antagonist before her father dies.
The book really begins to pick up when the antagonist starts to see what happens if he gives one person multiple stands or combines stands. I think that this may have been my favorite out of the 6 parts that I have read so far, a lot of people did not like it because of the ending or because it may have been slow at points, but I recommend this to anyone who has finished part 5 and is looking for the next part of JJBA.
