Book one built everything up and it was a nice read .. but THIS ONE?? YES. Thia is AWESOME, hated that people questioned and challenged her.

Shield and Scepter really lets us get to know all the characters much more. We get to discover their secrets as they grow as individuals and as a found family.

There are delicious twists afoot as the group not only struggles to simply survive, but also find their rightful places in Avoch.

It's a fantasy masterpiece and I cannot wait for the last installment!

An outstanding continuation of book one! I really enjoyed the first book, Scales and Stingers, and Shield and Scepter did not disappoint. With many moving parts to the story the reader barely has time to catch their breath. I love the growth of Thia and who she evolves to be, and the introduction of an adorable new character who soon became one of my favorites. I can't wait for book three!
