If you're into Dark Romance Stalker books, this book is definitely the book for you!
If you want something that not only scratches the surface of the dark aspects but dives deep, this book is for you!
If you're like me and get turned on by a list of trigger warnings a page long. THIS. IS. THE. BOOK. FOR. YOU!!!!! It's fun, jaw-dropping, panty-ripping, dark and orgasmic that I wanted to inject into my veins. It was one of the first books in a long time I found staying up late to read and is going to leave you feeling really satisfied at the end of reading.
Note: This book can be pretty triggering so if you are sensitive to certain triggers, please go in with caution. This is not an "intro" to Dark Romance. It's IN THERE and some aspects of the book are pretty graphic. So be careful with what you read. Stay safe! Look out for your own mental health.
This is a Dual POV Story that follows Echo and her stalker Declan and I really loved the way this book was structured. You could very distinctly hear the differences in characterisation between the two characters, which I adore! Not once did I feel confused about whose POV I was in. There are a few scenes played out twice, but from the perspective of each character; and I lapped it up, being able to see what each of them was thinking when these scenes were being played out.
Echo was a difficult character for me to understand at the start. She did a couple of things that I didn't fully understand what drove or what motivated her. But through unravelling her story and seeing the journey she has taken to be where she is, explained why she acted the way she did. She's not perfect and she doesn't claim to be, but she's incredibly strong, even if she doesn't always believe it herself. It was utterly heartbreaking to see all the emotional and physical abuse she had to endure.
Declan is very much a wildcard. He is blasé and a badass and knows his way around unaliving people, but the way that he cares for Echo is JUST SO SWEET!!! It was endearing to see how thoughtful, protective and possessive he was while still being a little kinky devil.
This didn't read like a debut. It had a superb balance of plot vs. characterisation and the action and descriptions of things were done really well. It was well-rounded and had a good foundation with writing that was easy to read and get lost in. There was also incredible care put into how the trauma was dealt with for both characters and I loved seeing them heal their demons and fractured parts.

What an amazing debut novel! I was not sure what to expect going in but the characters quickly steal your heart. All of the characters are strong and fierce and so well written.
The story is multi dimensional so it leaves you wanting to know more. It's so much more than a romance novel. Action, with a bit of twist. Cannot wait for book 2!!

Beautifully broken FMC and MMC come together and help heal each others fractured hearts. This book was dark, violent and oh so good. I was hooked from page 1! I love a good revenge plot and this book had it all for me!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK, When I first heard this book was coming I knew I wanted to read it right away. This literally has everything a dark romance reader would love! Definitely check the triggers on this one, it talks about some pretty dark stuff. Echo is one tough women. She had a really tough life and is trying to run from her past and trying to forget about it.
Declan is quite literally the perfect man and is hot, hot HOT!!! While trying to get revenge for the murder of his brother he has also been stalking Echo for a while (we do love a stalker). He leaves her gifts when he breaks into her house at night so she knows he was there. Which I am obsessed with by the way haha
The flash backs we got for both Declan and Echo quite literally broke my heart. But the growth both of these characters had is really incredible. Declan falls hard for Echo and promises to do everything to protect her and is quite possessive, but we love that in a book man. This does have a happy ending. I seriously can't wait for the next book, the twist that came (hopefully) leading into book 2 was AMAZING!
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves dark romance with a stalker and lots of spice! The smut was just amazing and I was just swooning over Declan!! H.C Riley, this book was beyond incredible you have a lifelong reader in me and I can't wait to read everything you write in the future :)

“Fractured Parts” was all my favorite tropes wrapped up into one and I was hooked from page one! When I read the synopsis of this book I was like “Riley, don’t you tempt me with a good time!” and boy, I had a blast. This introduction to world of Havok Hills was so good that now i’m salivating for book 2! This story has EVERYTHING! Stalking (we all know and love it), violence, possessiveness, love (and lots of it), spice to end all spice, and a HEA because we need it always! I applaud H.C. Riley on this debut release and honestly, can’t wait for more!
Declan Bennett is a shell of who he used to be. He has lost everyone he has ever loved and his life is now full of darkness and a feral need for revenge. When he first lays eyes on Echo Kelly, his world starts to shift. She is the first person to make him feel something other than complete and utter anger and emptiness. He’s obsessed with her and finding out what monsters visit her at night and have her screaming in her sleep. But Echo isn’t oblivious — she can sense him. She sees him in the shadows — out in the real world and in her room. She is not afraid and even has dark desires about her stalker. She doesn’t know what he looks like or what his name is but she knows he’s about to set her world on fire. While Declan has kept his identity from Echo, he jumps at the opportunity to ask her out while having drinks at her bar she works at. She’s torn because Declan is SMOKIN’ and she is taken… by the man in the shadows. What she doesn’t know of that Declan and her stalker are one and the same. When Echo learns who Declan is and he starts to unravel her, their worlds collide and they both will stop at night to keep each other safe — even if it ends in blood.
I MEAN. Declan Bennett is major swoon vibes. He is a serial unaliver, we know this, but when we find out WHY he is seeking revenge on his boss and the organization he works for, I couldn’t help but fall a bit more in love with him. Same with Echo! Once we get to know her and her dark past and the survivor she is, it’s hard not to love her too! Riley does an EXCELLENT job at developing these characters. Their arcs throughout the book were just so good! Exactly what you want them to be. Thank the looooord there weren’t any second or third act breakups or I would have been dead 😂 I honestly couldn’t love these two more if I tried.
I also want to compliment Riley’s writing style. SO. GOOD. I am a stickler for writing styles and choppy chapters and “Fractured Parts” had none of that. The fact that I couldn’t put the book down, well it was clear I not only enjoyed the story but how the story was told. I’m here for the long haul because book 2? Travis and Aria?! Ohhhhhh that’s going to be good.
I recommend this book to all my dark romance readers who love a stalker-y, possessive, sexy MMC who is out for revenge, AND a bad ass survivor FMC that takes no shit and is fiercely dedicated to her man.

Wowza. I received this ARC for an honest review and what a debut novel this is!
Declan and Echo are a match made in a morally grey heaven. He’s not a good man, but she doesn’t want a good man. The dirty mouth on Declan is superb.
Stalkers are my all time favorite quality in a MMC and Declan is the perfect amount. He’s a bit over the top, but (swoon) he’s so romantic about it.
I generally really enjoyed Echo’s personality and her character growth. She took matters in her own hands regardless on how traumatizing her life was. Her story really broke my heart.
This book has some really detailed SA content so make sure to check the TW’s before diving in.
I can’t wait to read Travis and Aria’s story!!

Holy Hell. This book has everything a dark romance reader could ever want. It was the start of what’s sure to become one of my favorite series. Please please take the content warnings seriously. This one can be a doozy for those easily triggered. However, I loved every single piece of Declan and Echo’s story! It filled in the cracks of my own Fractured Parts!

OMG!!!!! Declan….I need this man like right meow!!!! He was the perfect masked unhinged stalker/lawyer by day that I literally fell in love!!!
This is about Echo whose dad was murdered and she’s using all the funds from his passing and what she’s earning working at a small cafe to hire a PI find out who offed her dad. Not that her world isn’t crazy enough, but add a masked stalker who keeps sneaking into her house and leaving her pearl beads from her necklace as souvenirs and she’s got it made lol. She ends up bumping into Declan in the cafe one day where he asks if she wants his help in finding who did her dad wrong. Why won’t she let him, well because he’s the ahole who was the opposing counsel to her dad’s trial where he was accused of offing his wife. Clearly Declan has a reason for wanting to help…right? Guess you will have to read to find out.
I love the craziness of Declan and all the psychotic things he does to Echo and for her. He definitely is good at manipulating people that’s for sure lol. Definitely one of my tips reads 2023

The two had a lot in common, but they both had a lot of heartaches and devastating things that happened in their lives as well. They both have friends Aria and Travis. Travis is Declan's friend, and Aria is Echos.

This book is SO SO good!
Declan is perfect! And he's also your new book boyfriend! Because we all deserve someone who loves like him!
This book made me laugh, made me cry, and made me throw my Kindle lol, but I could not put it down!
The writing is amazing! The characters are so relatable and so down to earth.
My heart broke for them both, but when they came together, it was so beautiful.
HC Riley is so incredibly talented and has a way of bringing this story to life!
I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I'm here to tell you this book is IT!
It's dark. It has romance. It has a stalker. It has all the good stuff.

This book is about how two completely different people find peace in each other's broken darkness.
Echo was raised in a neglectful and abusive home. Her Vicki aka mother, was an addict through and through and Echo took care of her when times got bad. Insert the stepdad and things go from worse to a never ending nightmare until she leaves home and starts her life over, finding her own family.
Declan was raised in a loving home with his mother, father, and twin brother, until tragedy struck, and one twin spiraled out of control, leaving Declan alone and on a path of revenge and destruction, until her.
This is a kingpin/gang type of book where there's shady deals, an evil demented leader who is unhinged even before things start falling apart. Stalker turned lover. Quite a few moving storylines that by the end of the book, even though some things are answered there are still a few loose ends. I look forward to reading the next book.
As always, check the trigger and content warnings. There's a lot of abuse, mental, physical, and SA both off page and briefly on page. Self inflicted stuff, revenge, torture, and the sorts. The spice is a four so it tends to be graphic and hard and heavy. Stalker, obsession, morally gray, and an Adonis of a man. Recommended Read.

Echo is one tough FMC, she is a fighter she goes through so much. I felt connected to her character on many personal levels that at times I had to step back and say woah. She is probably by far one of my favorite main female characters as of right now.
The depth this book was written in is still blowing my mind. She is so descriptive and really knows how to paint a picture of everything perfectly. There are parts where the characters are having flashbacks of the past, and it's very emotional.

Absolutely loved every second of reading this book! I am in complete awe that this is a debut novel. The writing consumed me in a way that I couldn’t put the book down. I had to know what happened next. I laughed, cried, felt gut wrenching pain for the FMC, and my heart exploded for the love they have for one another.
She shouldn’t have feelings for her masked stalker right? But he keeps leaving her cute gifts so she can’t help but feel a sort of way towards him.
He is set on getting revenge for his brothers death but he sees her and priorities begin to pivot. He can’t stay away from her and he isn’t sure if he wants to. Can he avenge his brother and get the girl?
Highly recommend this one if unhinged obsessive possessive touch her and 💀 stalkers are your sort of vibe!!

I really loved the beginning of this book. I couldn't read it fast enough. Once I got to about 40%, it got a bit harder to keep my interest, but I pushed through.... only to be let down by the ending of the book. I was not a fan of the last 12%. There was so much build-up that kept going and going. What happened to Echo was awful! And then it skips 4 months! And then immediately after, it skips 3 months!!!! WTF!? I was left hanging. I don't feel like anything got resolved. We were told that it was hard, it got a pretty bandaid slapped on it and then the epilogue is a year later... and that's that..... 😧
Somewhere, the story lost me, and I really hate that because I was hooked at the beginning. Some people may love this... I just wish I was one of them 😔

Ahhh this book was so good! I didn’t expect the story to be so damn dark.. all the things the fmc had to endure was heartbreaking, but the mmc really came through for her! I’m obsessed with Declan 🖤 Also, while reading this wonderful debut novel, I kept hoping that certain characters would get their own book! 😉

Such a good stalker romance, I love love Declan so much! His and Echo’s stories and how they come together, the journey they go on- it was so wild and such a ride! I love their ending and now I can’t wait to get Travis and Aria. If you like dark romance and stalkers then this is for you;)

Let’s just say at 30% I knew I’ll be buying a physical copy. Masked Stalker protects Echo while obtaining revenge for his brother. Learning Echo, who is just as broken and fu€k3d up as he is. He tries to protect her and keep her safe while she also fights the demons of her past. She becomes his focus and priority. Secrets come out. Twist and turns you kind of see coming and some you definitely don’t, when I say my jaw dropped it was on the floor with that last one.

This is book 1 in the Havok Hills series. Each book is a standalone that will follow a different couple. I do recommend reading in order as there will be information needed in each book in order to help with understanding each story.
****Please Please Please.......Read the content warnings as there are some very dark elements with this story hat could be triggering for some. The author is very clear what is in the book and I highly recommend heeding her warning if any of the content could bother you.
Mercy me.......This story destroyed my soul........We follow Declan and Echo. Both equally dealing with tragic pasts and trying to survive any way they can. Both are strong and each follow a different path...that is until one night Declan sees Echo and that one encounter changes their lives. He stalks her....She is his and no one will take that from him.
I went into the book blind and I was not expecting the amount of feelings I had while reading. Both Declan and Echo have such tragedies int heir pasts. Each very different but still hurt the same. I think this is what makes them so good together is that they can relate to each other and help with healing. But let me be clear....... this story is very dark and very violent. Especially the last 1/4 of the book. I will say what Echo goes through is so depraved and for her to survive, she will need her stalker. Their relationship is beautiful in a different way and they just fit. Both so strong yet needing each other. Declan is definitely someone I want on my side and his last few chapters broke me. I don't want to say anything else because it will spoil it but just read this story...if you can. I loved it so much. There is something about a tragedy and the healing after that makes me love that kind of story. Truly a favorite of mine this year. OH and did I mention this is a debut....Definitely did not read like one and I will be following this author's work and her stories from here on out. I give this book 5 tragic stars.

The moment I was introduced to Declan I was a goner. This man’s devotion to Echo, before she even knew him knows no bounds and it was everything I needed in a stalker romance. He’s mysterious, lethal and downright filthy and he definitely had me sweating a couple of times.🥵
Echo is the absolute definition of a woman whose been dealt the shitty card in life from childhood, but that doesn’t stop her from fighting back with everything she has, and once Declan comes into the picture, she is that bitch okay!👊🏻
This book touches heavy on SA/r*pe/murder etc so please be mindful, but it only adds more gritty detail to the overall storyline and it’s everything I look for in a book when written well, and it was written perfectly.

Stalker love story
Echo had a pretty traumatic childhood that she has been running from since she was old enough to run away. Now she is just trying to make her new life something her own. But she has noticed someone watching her from the dark and she is oddly attracted to the edge he is bringing to her nights. When she finds out who he is and is already “dating” him, she wonders if he can overlook her dark past and could she worthy of someone finally caring for her?
Declan is on a revenge mission to avenge his brothers death. His plan has been in place for years and he is slowly working down the list while being an enforcer for the mafia boss. He knew from the first time he saw Echo that her darkness would call to his and she might just also bring light to his life, she could be the thing to keep him human. But the farther he falls for her, the less he has the desire to finish his revenge mission. Can he protect her from the darkness in his world?
This story has darkness, stalking, he falls first and hard, mafia world, childhood abuse, death/murder, kidnapping, obsession, possession and love. I highly suggest reading the triggers as there are some pretty dark parts, but overall it was a great story that ends on a happy ending.

Let me start this review off by saying that I am absolutely blown away. I cannot believe this is H.C Riley's debut novel. The writing: the balance between plot, spice, and character development was perfect. There was not a single moment that I was bored while reading. I constantly wanted to know what was going to happen next. Even in those moments that were "slow" everything was so well written that I didn't lost interest.
When reading, I tend to picture the scenes in my head. Sometimes, it can be hard because there is a lack of details on page. In this case, I had no issues at all creating a movie in my mind. I had everything I needed. There were enough details given to paint the scene, but to not overshadow the story.
I can't say enough good things about this book. I don't want to give anything away in my review, because I want you to go in blind just like I did. The only thing I will say, is to take the TW's seriously, as this truly is a dark book.
I hope you decide to pick this up and give it a chance. H.C Riley is a new author to look out for.

This Dual POV dark romance novel was soo good. I literally couldn’t put the book down. I had so many emotions while reading and the writing was amazing.
You have Echo, who after escaping a life time of abuse finds herself in a new town with new family. She discovers though she has a stalker watching her every move.
You also have Declan, who is also healing from trauma and is out for revenge but gets distracted by his new obsession, Echo. He will do anything to have her.
Throughout the story they piece all their fractured parts back together. They’re so many twist and turns along their journey.
I loved this book and definitely recommend to anyone that loves stalker dark romance. Again always check trigger warnings.

This was a dark and spicy read. Who knew that a stalker could be so hot? I really liked Declan and Echo’s relationship, especially how their traits bounce off from one another. My favourite aspect about Heather’s writing is the normalization of long-term symptoms of trauma - she clearly has experienced some s***, or knows someone closely who has, as she was able to write such raw and painful histories for the main characters. Not only that, she was also able to detail why people with trauma are more susceptible to suicidality, as those childhood experiences can shape our perceptions of self-worth. That is my one pet peeve about some dark romance reads, and how some authors skim over the effects of traumatic experiences on their characters.
Make sure to read the trigger warnings beforehand, as this is one of the darker reads that I have ever read. The end really broke my heart, it was a bit too dark for my preferences, but I’m still really excited to read the rest of the series.

I found this book by accident and I am glad I did. This was a debut book from this author and she did a phenomenal job!

Now on to my review.
I LOVE a masked/Stalker, Morally Grey OTT MMC and this book had it all. Declan is the MMC in this book and the man is walking Red flag but we are just going to pretend we are color blind when it comes to this man. Declan has been obsessed with Echo since he first laid eyes on her. He goes out of his way to check on her and will do anything (and I mean anything) to keep her safe.
Echo is our FMC (I love her name!) she has a traumatic past and the things she goes through in this book will have you in tears and wanting to help her (There are very detailed SA scenes in this book).
Declan is your new book boyfriend his love language is gift giving and well serial un-aliving anyone who has done you wrong and revenge for his brother. I loved the relationship between Echo and Declan when she opened up to him and allowed herself to have a relationship despite everything she (they) have been through.
I can't wait to read more by this author.
