A Really Gay Villain Christmas #2

Missiletoe: This one *is* remotely about Christmas

Rate this book
***Like all the books in the Really Gay Villain Christmas Series, this can be read as a standalone story. Someone is going to lose a toe.

Smart as a whip with the morals of an alleycat. I’ve heard it a million times.

But will my smarts be enough to catch the heart of the local animal shelter director?

He’s pretty.

And kind.

And caring.

And have you seen those pecs?

What’s a tiny evil genius to do?

Dumb as an ox with the heart of a lion. I’ve heard it a million times.

But am I good enough for someone a hundred times smarter than me?

He’s cute.

And sweet.

And an inventor.

And his hair is bunny-soft.

What’s an animal-loving giant to do?Missiletoe is the first Really Gay Villain Christmas Series book that’s actually about Christmas! Like the first book, this one is full of found family feels, evil plots to “protect the world,“ ridiculous shenanigans, fuzzy cuteness, size difference, and, of course, those jealous/possessive characters that have become a trademark of Zile Elliven's work. This book can be read as a standalone but is part of a larger series.

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

He was just the cutest thing I’d ever seen, and I had a batch of newborn bunnies back at the shelter. A group of bunnies is called a fluffle, by the way. And that knowledge isn’t half as adorable as what I had lying passed out on top of me.

Zile’s writing is refreshingly original and his stories are so much freaking fun to read. For the first parts of this I really had no idea where it was gonna go or what was gonna happen, but I figured I would just put all of my expectations aside and just go with it. Nothing crazy really happened, but I was ready for anything, lol.

“He’s narcoleptic. Something must have happened to him to make him scared or overly excited. When he gets a burst of adrenaline, his system overloads, and he shuts off like an overheated computer.”

If Vix’s sexual appetite and unconventional relationships with his roommates worries you, you’re safe to keep reading. Once Vix and Paris lay eyes on each other, everyone else ceases to exist, pretty much.

I made my eyes as large and as sweet as I could. I even managed to get a good glisten going. I knew it was good because I practiced in front of a mirror.

Zile’s books are always hard to pin down or boil down to a few sentences. How do you even specify the genre with something like this? It’s not really fantasy, but there’s magic, maybe curses, literal mind-talking with animals, evil geniuses, etc. At the same time, it all feels contemporary, lol. Whatever it actually is, who cares. What I do know is that it’s a lot of fun. There is a touch of christmas vibes in this, but it won’t feel like you’ve swallowed Santa himself by the end. Just a bit of pretty fairy lights and sexy christmas gifts.

Protective and creepy were merely two sides of the same coin. Ultimately, I wasn’t the one who could decide which one I was being.

The author has done a good job of writing this in a really unique way, like the characters are telling *you* the story. This results in the tenses switching a bit, but you’ll get used to that quickly. It was well done and an entertaining read.

Yes, I have a small dick. Sue me. Several people have told me it’s cute just like me, and I’m proud of it.

“Still sleepy? That’s okay. You can stay here as long as you need to.” Paris put a hand on my chest and one behind my neck and slowly pushed me back onto the bed. The resulting zing of lust shooting through me, combined with the knowledge that I would win a tall-man contest before I ever got a chance to ride Paris’s bologna pony, made my brain flip the closed sign, and it was lights out for Vix once again.

I was so strange, and Paris was so good. He’d probably never accidentally killed a single person in his life.

I decided to offer him water. If he cried that much normally, I’d need to make sure to keep him well-hydrated.

So cute! Vix and Paris were great together. I loved the possessiveness and insta-love/attraction, Paris's love for animals and his gentleness with them, and how he likened Vix to a bunny. Just adorbs 🥰

My only complaint is I got tired of hearing about how all the guys in the house slept with each other. I understand why, but it got a little excessive. I got the picture the first time it was mentioned, so I didn't need to hear about it multiple times. If it had been less of a focus, this would have been 5 stars for me because I loved it otherwise.

The audio of this is fantastic. Well worth a listen
Missiletoe can be read as a standalone, but I'd recommend reading Apple and Adam's novella first because it's fun and for added context.
Vix and Paris have an instant connection pushed on with magic and a stalker. I really liked the pair together and loved Paris carrying Vix around all the time. There's a big size difference between the pair.
This one adds a bit more storyline with a mysterious new background character and more than a few questions about the town.
The story is told in such a fun way, with Vix in particular breaking the 4th wall to speak to the reader.
A great holiday read that does actually have Christmas in it!

I absolutely loved the found family trope in this one! Yes, every single guy is undeniably questionable. And sure, their morals may have been a bit rocky, but they genuinely loved each other (flaws and all) and always had each other's backs. Paris was such a perfect match for Vix, and vice versa. While Vix needed someone to care for him despite his disorder, Paris needed someone who would rely on him without making him feel small for not knowing as much as others. I fully thought Gareth was going to be thrown into their dynamic for a hot minute, but I’m 100% shipping him with Baz and Vale.

It's hard to imagine loving anything more than the first book in this series since iirc it literally made my heart shit our rainbows and stardust, but this one is literally every type of wonderful that exists... so clearly I'm going to have to go back and read Adam and Apple's story again just to better compare them 😁

Zachary Zaba does such an amazing job in bringing this cast to life giving each of them their own identity. You dont lose whose speaking or what's going on which is helpful with this style of writing.

All you can really say is that this book was chaos in the best possible way. The storyline hand you enthralled from start to finish, even if multiple times you needed to ask yourself what I was reading? Seriously, did I read that, right? Yep. Now, that is just a fun story.
The dynamics of this family show that even if you toe the line between good and evil, it doesn't mean you don't love hard and fierce. This family will do everything and anything to protect its own.
Compared to the last book, it is more Christmas-y. If you see Die Hard as a Christmas movie, you will see this as a Christmas book.

These books are absolutely batshit crazy. Either it's your brand of bonkers and you will love them, or you're going to hate them - I feel like there is no in between, lol.

The vibes are giving Louisa Masters' Hidden Species/Here Be Dragons series meets Alice Winters' VRC and Vexing Villains series meets Onley James' Necessary Evils series meet C. Rochelle's Villainous Things series. (Also, if you like this series and haven't read any of the ones I just mentioned, go check them out!)

Everybody is completely unhinged with various flavors of ... let's call them superpowers? It's not instalove so much as insta-obsession-he's-mine-and-I'll-set-you-on-fire-if-you-even-look-at-him-wrong-hissgrrrawr. I dislike instalove, but for some reason I gobble this toxic possessive crazypants shit up. I finished book 1 (or book 0.5? the numbering is as bonkers as the books) and immediately started this one and stayed up til 1 am reading after telling myself I was going to read "just the first chapter." And I am an old lady, so 1 am is super late for me when usually I consider 9 pm to be a late night!

Aaaaanyway, if you love wildly unhinged flavors of crazy with notes of neurospicy and various levels of villain-mode, this series is for you!

Zile’s writing is so fun - like Alice Winters bonkers but if you were sitting with a friend listening to a story (lots of breaking the fourth wall).

I love when characters are OTT possessive and when they’re both that way 🤩🤩🤩 plus size difference and genius vs himbo. It’s very opposites attract - Vix is a genius who makes all the tech for his supervillain found family and Paris is an oblivious sweetie pie who runs the local animal shelter.

This is a lot of vibes instead of plot. There is a bit but it didn’t matter as much as just Vix & Paris interacting plus all the side characters who will eventually get their own HEAs.

It’s vaguely Christmas-y and decently smutty although some scenes are shorter and less descriptive than my ho heart wanted.

I ate it up and I’m going to pick up Zile’s other books soon!

But I just wanna say that the humor in this book (and the previous book) is just… meant for me. Like, every sentence brought me glee in some way. Gods, it’s perfect. Zile is perfect.
Also I was super happy to see Apple and Adam again in this book. I’m still in love with them.

There was enough here that I liked for me to finish, but I actually skimmed quite a bit. It was a bit too OTT for me which I didn’t even know was a thing for myself, but here we are.

reread: cute as fuck, chaotic as fuck, fun as fuck. a warm, slightly insane holiday romance.

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

Y’all, lemme just say if you haven’t read a Zile Elliven book yet, you’re missing out on one of the best comfort authors on the market right now. These books aren’t typical. They tend to have neurospicy MCs, ridiculous plots, a ton of smexy times, sooooo much humor, and all the feels. They’re all just one big, warm, cozy, feel good hug of comfort and romance.

𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧. 𝙃𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢.

Missiletoe is all of the above. I’d recommend being a part of Zile’s newsletter so you can get access to the prequel novella in this series first because it’ll be worth it. The “found family” in this universe is…strange and unique…and I adore them ALL. Baz and Gareth and Vale, and Adam/Apple (who you’ll meet in the novella).

“𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙖𝙢 𝙄. 𝙄𝙛 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙩.”

This love story is for sweet, little Vix and the big, strapping Paris who is described as a mix between Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians and Kristoff from Frozen (like whaaaaaaat?). Paris is obsessed with his little bunny and Vix is too precious for words. I could go on and on about this story but it’s so random and amazing, you just need to read it all. The size difference, the fluff, the sweetness, the CHAOS. Y’all, the chaos is superb and addicting and amazing.

And so friggin hilarious.

I need more and I can’t wait for more. Give me all the chaos, Zile!

I don't understand how this author is not more popular because I'm contemplating reading all her books after this series.
Not to mention, I'm so eagerly waiting for Baz and Gareth and Vale's books. I'm so excited help.

The Adam and Apple interactions were so nostalgic because I read their book almost a year ago, and they were adorable as ever.

*What was normal, anyway? I had an ex-supersoldier for a boss, an assassin for a brother, a mad scientist who may or may not be a vampire—no one had ever given me a clear answer on that one—and the luckiest unlucky couple on the planet living with me.*

The found family trope was obviously there with so much unhinged-ness. And talking animals and magic dogs and people with "EviLNeSs" intentions

*If I finished my invisibility ray, I could sneak the kittens in, and Apple would never know. I mean, how hard could it be to keep five kittens and a cat secret? Baz would help, and together we were unstoppable. Or at least uncatchable.
Heh. You see what I did there?
Shush. It was funny, and you know it.*

If you want to read this writing style, this book is perfect for you. I don't generally read like this over the top insta love blah but idk I was addicted to this book. I guess you just have to be in the right mood.
Again so excited for the next releases of this series.

This one was just as much insane bonkers fun as the first book! I really enjoyed it, though some personal niggles kept me from giving it the full five stars. I'm definitely a Zile Elliven fan now, though. No doubt about that.

I honestly hated this book. I vibes so hard with the first book both when I first read it and then when I re-read it before this book. This book was a miss for me. Part of the reason is that book 1 established hopes I had for the characters. I loved Gareth and Vix and even Baz as a 2-3 relationship. That's what I was hoping for after book 1 (but mostly Gareth and Vixen) because of the soft spot and gentle way Gareth cared for Vix.

In this book, a lot more is confirmed. WHY Baz and Vix sleep together, but also that Vale and Gareth also both sleep with Vix and that Baz sleeps with others. So, it fleshed out the dynamic I was dying to know more about and I wouldn't have been mad about some kind of relationship with the four of them, or them just going as they were for however like. I liked what was established.

However, due to this, Paris was a giant homewrecker in my eyes and I couldn't vibe with him. He was VERY reminiscent of Edovard aka Puppy from Jennifer Cody's assassin series. Both are more or less dumb as rocks, but very introspective about characters emotional health's/goodness (Edovard saw peoples shine, Paris saw heart shadows, and both had plenty to say about grumpy guts, head pats, rough edges, etc etc) only Paris had the added addition of a shadow animal. Well. Edovard had literally avatar of Evil and minions so, there's still some similarity. While it worked for Edovard and Cody, it did not work for Paris and Elliven. this is just my opinion, in case anyone wants to cut in that THEY vibes.

The problem for me was Paris was too possessive in a bad, usurping what I viewed as a working established relationship of family and becoming a homewrecker. (And before anyone wants to use Paris logic to say it wasn't perfect bc of a b c (alike Vix escaping for an hour) let me remind you that NO system is perfect which means not even suffocating Paris can perfect dynamics even if it's written to make it LOOK like he can). Paris himself said possessive can also be creepy, it's two sides of a coin and depends on a persons interpretation. MY intepretation as a reader was it bordered on negative. All the while having inner thoughts on how to maintain and respect boundaries, and good people, and having no claim to Vix yet he still doesn't like anyone's hands on Vix, wants to be the sole claim. Now, he didn't toxically act on it, but I still saw him as a threat to the dynamic. probably as much as he saw Vale, Baz and Gareth as a threat to him having his want-to-be possession. For me it didn't work, because I had already sided with and LIKED the Collective, and so to me THIER feelings came first; this includes Gareth being melancholy bc Vix no longer needs him the same way. Especially since that was a dymnaic and softness I LOVED in book one. And it especially hurt (and kind of came out of nowhere) because after Vix and Paris meet, Gareth takes Vix into the office and they snuggle, as per their routine of care and comfort, and Vix is fine, Then Gareth goes in to kiss him, and Vix is not fine, muses that he needs to still be petted for GARETHS sake, but when Gareth pets him all of a sudden it doesn't hit the same and Gareth gets melancholy. But...the cuddles moments before seemed to hit the same? He was all even up in the armpit? So it felt VERY fucking abrupt to me.

There's apparently drama over Vale using Apple to boot Paris out of the house, a moment I didn't mind personally and found both funny and kinship over, that results in part of the house blowing up and Adam making good in his threats and destroying Gareth's office over, but I only read about that happening in the end bc I skipped a good chunk of the book to see how it ended. I was no longer interested in the meat of the book, nor was I interested in sex between Paris and Vix. They didn't have chemistry to me, Paris to me is a home wrecking usurper whose character I also found lacking bc where as the aforementioned Edovard was all fluff, this dude was like possession and dominance hiding behind fluff and moral lectures; which missed the mark for me. And I think Vix's family absolutely had the right to be WARY at least over the change Paris was bringing into their lives using their beloved Vix. because he WAS a major change in many respects, which is why I don't begrudge them not handling it....better. their entire axis shifted too.

in the end, Vix got his happy ending with Paris and still had his family.....but I just wasn't vibing.

Missiletoe is a damn delight from the title page to the very gay epilogue. I was laughing and highlighting like crazy during this wild ride of a romance between a tiny and adorable narcoleptic evil-ish genius and the slightly magical, gentle-giant animal caregiver who falls for him.

Vix is super smart, but his mind can get … distracted easily, plus his narcolepsy causes him to drop out when he gets an adrenaline surge, so his found family is very protective. Perhaps too protective. So when he slips away to see the Christmas lights, he may accidentally cause some mayhem that leads to an episode. Luckily, he falls asleep on the warm giant in the park. Paris is immediately drawn to the tiny man in his arms and takes him back to his animal shelter to care for him. But will Vix feel the same pull when he wakes up? And will his protective family let them be together?

This is book two in A Really Gay Villain Christmas series, and while I highly recommend book one, this stands alone well. I loved this book! From the size difference to the possessiveness, it was all perfect. Plus the snark and humor was balanced by the feels — Vix feels like a burden and not special compared to others in his family, and Paris has been made to feel like he’s not smart enough. But the two complement each other exquisitely. I thought I loved Apple and Adam from book one (and okay, I do), but Paris and Vix are my sweet, slightly homicidal babies! Somehow, this unhinged world got even more unhinged, and I am so. here. for it.

When I finished this joyful wonder of a book, I was sad for two reasons: I knew I’d never get to read it for the first time again (unless Vix can make some kind of ray gun for that?), and I knew my review would in no way do this justice. Seriously, go read it! So highly, highly recommend.

Before I start this review I should probably clarify how much I HATE when mcs fuck with characters that aren't the mcs. I don't wanna read about it, I don't wanna read about people they slept with etc.

Soo with that being said I loved this book except all these fucking parts about the sex he had with all of them. Seriously the fuck? They call each other family and even kinda twin brothers but they all basically fuck each other? Okaaay, I hear the banjo in the background (I'm sorry banjo, I really like your sound).
I get it he is a nympho blah blah (I know that sounds insensitive, I don't mean it that way, I wouldn't wish being a nymphomaniac in anybody), still I don't wanna know that he got fucked by them every night. I mean he didn't do anything sexual with anybody after meeting Paris but still.
He was clearly smitten with Paris and the rest of his friends dismissed it, threw Paris out and tried to fuck Vix? He got kissed and touched. Ugh I don't wanna say it ruined the book for me but It gave me a sour taste for sure. Maybe it's a me thing but I also don't like all the cuddling with other characters.

Otherwise I loved it. I really love the authors writing style. It was the same kind of crazy like the first book. Crazy people (okay Paris is kinda normal-ish) fall immediately in love and get possessive as fuck. Love it!

I hated how people treated Vix and Paris though. They infantilised Vix to the extreme and acted like Paris was dumb. It broke my heart but I'm glad they found each other and got the reassurance they need.

Plus dogs, kitten, cats and bunnies!

I just, eh. Where did the magic go?

I just don't enjoy the writing like I did when the author first appeared. I loved the Stillbringer series. I did not like the other university series. That level of possessiveness is terrifying to anyone who has ever been in a bad relationship. It reads like nothing but red flags and was not enjoyable at all. Pretty much every behavior was a reason to run from the relationship not dive in. This one is more humorous. Or tries to be. It just doesn't really always work for me, though. I kind of liked the Adam/Apple bad luck/good luck clash but the house and group dynamic is just strange, creepy, and dysfunctional. And the "bad guy" situation is comically bad. The bad guys, for me, would be all the attempted kidnappers briefly mentioned and easily forgotten, and the rogue military group lurking in the background. But no. I keep trying because I really enjoyed the original works and I keep hoping they go back to it. Even if it is currently deleted. Maybe I'll try again if they write something else but I think I'm giving up on this series, too. So far the series score is 1 for 3, and the one I actually liked doesn't exist on Kindle anymore. Yay...

I started to read MissileToe because Zile Elliven’s books are guaranteed feel-good reads and a fun departure from my usual genre when I feel like mixing things up a bit. This book, however, was a surprise, for hidden in the usual banter, asides, and hijinks that make Elliven’s books so enjoyable were nuggets of wisdom that I felt compelled to stop and ponder. >>”Calling someone names means that the name caller has a broken heart.” (There’s more to this one, but I don’t want to spoil your thrill when you read it. I actually took a screenshot of it and sent it to my granddaughter, who is encountering this in high school.) >>Paris ponders the possibility of “an equal but opposite reaction of nastiness to balance the joy of a new finding.” >>The concept of “heart shadows” was thought provoking, and brought to mind Eckhart Tolles’ pain-bodies. >>”She seemed to be gathering herself to say something big, so I made some space in my heart to hear it.” There are more…you need to read this book for its quirky marvelousness on the surface level and, if you’re into it, for its proddings for you to think deeper. Wholeheartedly recommend!

This book was absolutely insane and I loved it. Vix and his roommates are all completely mad and sweet Paris with his gentle nature finds himself swept up and along with the craziness due to his instantaneous draw to Vix. Paris finds himself dragged into the messiness of Vix’s life but I love that he is in no way a pushover and manages to win the grudging respect of Vale and Gareth. The arm wrestling as a means of determining their “manliness” is freaking hysterical.

Like all the books by Elliven, there’s a magical/fantasy element to the story and I would definitely call how Paris and Vix respond to each other as in the realm of fated mates. I highly recommend reading Apple and Adam’s book first as it will give a lot more insight into their dynamic which confuses Paris greatly at first, and lets us see Vix and Baz from a different POV before we get into their intentions in this book.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I adored Vix and Paris's love story. I'm a huge Zile Elliven fan so I devoured this as soon as it came out, and it was everything I wanted and more.

Vix being a tiny cute gay disaster with the brains to invent world-ending machines but the heart to only do it because his family that he loves very much asked him to is just... he's just perfect. And the fact that he believes that he's broken and a burden and not worthy of Paris and worried Paris will be scared off, yet Paris is just like "look at this perfect little creature I must care for him".

I'm trying very hard to write a coherent review instead of just keyboard smashing and using the bottom face emoji but like, if you're queer and neurodivergent then please read this book. Unless you haven't read A Really Gay Book (the prequel), then go read that first.

Missiletoe is quite a fun read. When Vix, for reasons explained in the book, falls asleep, on Paris' shoulder, in a park, it's an instant attraction. On their way to a possible happily ever after, they have to deal with Vix's family and a stalker. Missiletoe has a lot of humor, and each character has a moment to shine. There is mayhem, steam, a busybody family, some magic like elements, and a cute dog who may not be what she seems. Missiletoe was a fun read. I enjoyed the world and characters created here, and would definitely like to read more of it.
I received this book as part of a giveaway, and this is my honest review.

I love Vix and Paris! This book was so much fun. It hooks you from the first page and doesn't let you go. Vix is a unique blend of evil genius and horny little devil. Paris has the ability to see shadows and can use his power to speak with animals. When Vix falls asleep on Paris, Paris is instantly smitten with the little man. But Vix's family is crazily overbearing about his safety and aren't quick to trust Paris. This story is full of craziness, hilarity, stalkers, and cute baby animals, with a little Christmas spirit sprinkled throughout. A must read series!

Almost a Christmas book

Vix's romance. The last book was a little vague about how such ridiculous luck could happen. Now magic is real. Some people have it, some don't. How it works is a bit muddy, but Paris is not a particularly clear thinking individual.

The conflict is not between Paris and Vix. They meet and decide to be together forever pretty much instantly. But Paris has to convince Vix's family. And Paris has a stalker.

The book is sweet and funny and has some interesting world building. Oh, and the sex is pretty good too.

So much fun!

I just love the energy of this series. It is chaotic and snarky and OTT in the most fun way. It’s a supernatural world where extreme luck sits side by side with magic and a dog who can talk telepathically. And possibly vampires?

Vix and Paris are instalove, but it works. And Vix’s found family are super-overprotective, getting in their way. But they all pull together in the face of a destructive stalker.

It’s a really fun read and I can’t wait for more—especially Gareth and Vale 😁

I don't even know what to say about this book. It was truly weird. It was good, don't get me wrong. It really was. It was just such a strange little read. Vix and Paris seem to fit so well together. The biggest thing that threw me off was the casual way Vix had sex with everybody he lived with. Paris put a stop to that quickly. The villainy was so casual and funny. If you want a weird one, this one can do it. Oh, and it was written like the character was having a conversation with the reader. I think that's part of what made it funny.

A magical, unique, and fun read! I really love this author's writing style and just an overall fantastic reading experience! This is book 2 in the Really Gay Villain Christmas Series. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading book one. It is just a fabulous read! To be honest, this book just put a smile on my face. I love Vix and Paris. These two are so sweet and wonderful together! The characters in this book are absolutely splendid and the story was a joy to read!

I absolutely loved this story. This is the second book in this series and can be read as a stand-alone. It is also set in the same universe as Psync. This is a completely different series but you might see some familiar faces if you’ve read that series too. This is Vix’s story and I completely fell in love with him and Paris. These two worked so well together and I can’t wait to see the other guys get their own stories.

Vix & Paris

This was very cute with lots of possessiveness from both Vix & Paris. The majority of the book takes place in 24 hours which it didn’t seem like until I really thought about it and it blew my mind lol. Vix & Paris are perfect together.

I think my favorite parts are when Adam is getting revenge on the house and just messing stuff up by existing. I really like his and Apple’s powers they are so funny.
