Emily’s Hope. By Ruth Taylor.

Although I have not read any other books by this author, and this being number five in the series—I can honestly say it did not detract from my enjoyment of the overall story.

After a traumatic opening chapter, ‘thanks for the warning tag,’ the story settles down, to which Emily, a naive sixteen-year-old girl, must suffer the consequences of her actions.
Pippa is Emily’s best friend and helps her through life as each event unfolds.

I enjoyed the interactions between Emily and Isaac. The slow romance between them. Two people so obviously opposites, and so attracted to each other, became a little steamy at times. Fast forward to a tragedy which threatens to put an end to their relationship.

Nicely written with likeable characters and an interesting storyline. Needs a touch more editing, but to summarise, this is a very relatable and enjoyable book.

Recommended.

Good

I’ve read the whole series so far. While this one isn’t my favorite it’s still a good read if you don’t mind most of the book being in one POV. I took away a star because there’s so much of Isaac’s POV I would have enjoyed in the beginning. Still a good series worth checking out.

Sweet Little Romance

Emily’s best friend Pippa and Pippa’s son and dad, who she counts as her real family have all emigrated to America. Add on to the fact that one of her work colleagues has got a grudge against her and is determined to make life hard for her after a messy split it’s understandable that she is feeling alone and depressed. So when she is invited to move to Hope to be closer to Pippa and her family she understandably jumps at the chance. Now in America she soon meets Isaac where they quickly develop a rather steamy relationship. However a serious accident might hamper their blossoming relationship and put their lives in danger. This is book 5 of a series but can be read as a stand-alone and easily understood as I have only read book 1 & 2 but I am looking forward to reading 3 & 4 as well. As I have come to expect from the author this is beautifully written and engaging romance novel.

Ruth Taylor’s, Emily’s Hope: Hope Series Book 5, skips pretty quickly through Emily’s young adulthood at the start of the book. Later, when she moves with her adopted and loving chosen family, she begins to find her own way and find a new love. At first I was a little concerned for Emily as she intuited a couple of red flags in the early part of her relationship with Isaac. Their relationship moves along quickly and then is interrupted by an incident. Emily and Isaac have a lot to work through as a result and as they do the reader grows more confident in Emily’s choice. They story shares a message about leaving behind the past to step into the future and has a lovely ending. A quick satisfying read.

This was the first book I read from the author. It's the story of Emily, a well off British girl, and it starts when she's 16, going through the toil of adolescence and learning about boys. She has a best friend called Pippa and they have a really close bond. Early on in the book time jumps forward to when Emily and Pippa are adults and Pippa has a family whilst Emily is a career woman at a law firm. Their story then takes them to America to a town called Hope where the story really begins to unfold.

This is a very nicely written novel with plenty of romance and a hint of melancholy, as the leading character goes through ups and downs in learning about life. There are plenty of surprises and twists as you follow the stories of Emily and Pippa. An excellent read.

Gripping romance story!
Book 5 Emily’s Hope is a great addition to the Hope series. After reading books 1-4, I was eager to read this one and it didn’t disappoint.
The author has a fabulous knack for creating characters that you just love, Emily and Isaac being the two in this story. We also get to meet up with some of the well-developed characters from the previous books. And another great storyline.
This is a romance story with twists and turns to keep you gripped. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

A new start

I was a little dubious at first, I felt like the book was a little rushed in the beginning and I found myself a little confused. As the story moved on and Emily met Isaac the story found its feet. Part 2 took a turn I wasnt expecting, I like the characters and I liked that after a pretty disappointing life, Emily got what she deserved. I havent read any other books in the series which is likely why I had trouble understanding the characters. Overall a pleasant read.

Another Ruth Taylor Triumph!

Ruth Taylor knocks it out of the park once again with Book 5 in her "Hope Small Town" Romance Series, “Emily's Hope”.

If you have read the earlier books in this series, the characters will feel like family, but the book is satisfying as a one-off story as well.

This reader always loves a “start a new life” theme and all the challenges the protagonist has to overcome - and the romantic addition doesn’t disappoint. If you like Romance novels, you will enjoy this book!

sweet romance with HEA

I’ve enjoyed all the books in the Hope series, and this one did not disappoint. Emily is a strong character and her and Isaac make a wonderfully complex but entertaining couple when he is so moody and she won’t stand for any of it.
There is some serious plot points regarding consent, SA, and termination, but it was handled really well. The ending was uplifting, sweet and feel good. Would recommend this entire series to anyone who likes sweet, easy-reading romance.

This was the first book I read from Ruth Taylor's Hope series. I didn't feel I had jumped ahead picking up the fifth book.

There are significant jumps in time after the gripping beginning with the trauma scene that Emily experienced at sixteen, which made me feel I had lost a sense of her before she was presented as an adult solicitor. I wonder if the initial trauma scene might have worked better as a flashback or a prologue.

There's plenty of romance and a hint of melancholy, and I liked the short chapters.

Steamy love story.

Having read books 1-4, picking up this one on day one was a no-brainer. As usual, any in this series can be read as a standalone.
At first I wondered how Emily's story would get her to Hope, then all became clear, but who would be her love interest there? Wow, him! I didn't see that coming.

What looks like a straightforward, if steamy, love story, takes on twists and turns.

Emily and Issac

I’ve been waiting to see who Issac ended up with. I like this series. I do recommend that you read the trigger warning at the beginning. I didn’t and it was a hard read for me at first. Once Emily gets to Hope then it falls in line with the series for me. I do hope there’s more to come.

Ruth Taylor Enjoyable fifth book in the series!
Book five of the Hope series isn’t a let down and sits comfortably with the four others. We are reunited with some of the other characters from the series, and a new situation. It’s a nice love story, there are twists and turns, and a feel-good atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more in this series.

Great Read

I’ve read all in the series and this is by far my favorite. Legal eagle Emily gets a fresh start in Hope. It’s the fast paced story of Emily and Isaac. Both grappling with past traumas they find solace in each others arms. A blend of romance, resilience and redemption. It’s five stars from me!

a page turner

Emily’s story starts in the UK with a rape at the young age of 16. The book skips through moments of her life and her bond with her closest friend Pippa. Finally in the small town of Hope in the US they both find love, but a traumatizing car accident turns everything around. Well written and engaging characters. Emily, Pippa and her family are really genuine.

All the characters were richly developed, and I loved most of them. This was a well-written story that had all the good things in a novel- real life problems, emotions, drama, friendship, challenges, romance, and sex. It was a great read and I had difficulty putting it down. The family of choice was there for each other.

Nice romance after a tumultuous beginning for Emily. I’m so glad she and Isaac became an item, even though the man does come over as being rather moody!

At one point in the book, we’re on the edge of our seats after the accident, but I’ll not say more…

A nice afternoon read.

I loved the characters such as Emily, Pippa & Isaac. Emily is a bubbly personality that's up & down in emotions. A crazy roller coaster ride romance series that is truly captivating from the first book to now. I love it, a five star from me.

Nice story

It has a raw start, but well written. Then, fortunately, Emily's finds a new beginning.
This nice romance story keeps you wondering if the very likeable characters would find a good ending.
Read only book 5 so far, but I look forward to reading the other 4

Having been to Hope, AR, I can attest that these characters are realistic as well as interesting. Emily has found a real home, though her enemies are still out there. It’s a true romance of damaged people, who find love in spite of everything
