The endless stream of wounded warriors flowing through my ward has taken all the fun out of dating soldiers — until Xinnick ignored all the rules, muscled his way into my life, and changed everything.
He says I'm his, and the more time I spend with him, the more I know he's right.
Despite my reluctance to fall for his reassuring certainty and his bizarrely charming logic, I'm losing the battle — and that's a big problem.
Dating our alien allies is against regulations, but to make things even more complicated, Xinnick has sworn to terminate the very patient I'm trying to keep alive!
I shouldn't have to be the voice of reason when he's programmed to comply with regulations, but the alien cyborg has a solid plan and a level of determination that rivals my own.
If I can't figure out how to make him see sense...
There's a chance nobody around here will be getting a happy ending.
In this is sci-fi romance novella, the reader will encounter the blossoming of forbidden love between an amusing, infatuated alien cyborg and his compelling human fated mate.
Enjoy a short, heated, and humorous adventure aboard their military hospital ship.♥
Harlyn Moxie is self-diagnosed goofball who writes happy endings for smart, kickass heroines and super-hot alien heroes who are determined to prove their worth when it comes to love and war...
Her particular brand of original and creative sci-fi romance comes with a promise of true love, humor, and heat — so prepare to be entertained when you escape with one of her books!
In a former life, she was a nurse. That's where human resilience made its mark upon her, instilling a deep affection in her heart for underdogs and rebels, which is greatly reflected in her characters and their stories.
What a great book and the main characters had me rooting for them even though its was forbidden by the Alliance and to make it even harder is that cyborgs are not supposed to have feelings anymore and this cause huge problems all around. Summer Mason is a field Nurse that works on the Hospital Ship Nightingale where she meets Xinnick a cyborg warrior who comes in with his injured best friend Xintari who makes him promise that if there is no chance of surviving he doesn’t want to be turned into a cyborg like him and he agrees to do what is asked of him. Xinnick is a cyborg warrior that is with his best friend who is injured in battle and might not survive but while hoping he does he never thought he would one start to have feelings for the female nurse called Summer who is his fated mate but Xinnick is having trouble with all these feelings that had long left him when he made into a cyborg but he cannot let her go and this is going to be a big problem if they want a future together. There is so much more to this book that will have you hanging on the edge of your seat hoping there is a HEA.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but this was such a good alien/cyborg romance, despite it only being 118 pages.
The characters, the humor, the spice…. How the heck the author managed to write CYBORG smut way hotter than many of the dozens of books I’ve read this year? I mean it. The chemistry the mc’s have is incredible.
Would I call this erotic romance or romantic erotica? Probably the latter, but it doesn’t feel like it.
I’m so glad I gave this book a chance. This was my first book from this author but certainly won’t be my last.
There is no back story, no warm up, no long and detailed world building. The reader is simply dropped right into a battle field nurse’s life. All the information comes in the form of funny and oddly charming dialogue between her and the cyborg whose main goal is to kill his best friend, her patient. War is a strange place, and often all the niceties of civilization get striped away and all we’re left with is instinct and emotion. This is wonderfully written by someone who knows how to show the story, not simply tell it.
This story had me chuckling from the first page on. Xinnick was infuriatingly sweet in his “stalking” of his mate, Summer. His devious logic to fulfill his mission to his friend and win over Nurse Mason really had my jaw dropping and then laughing out loud. So much so, I can’t wait to read book 2.
This was a short, but highly entertaining read with plenty of steamy goodness.
This book actually had me laughing out loud at certain points. I didn’t know if I’d like it while starting out, since I’m a very picky reader, but ended up enjoying it so much I plan to read more of this series. Excited to see where book 2 takes me!
“Stuff your kindle” day has opened up a whole new world of “romance” (if that’s what you want to call it) books for me and I’m loving it!! The story line sucked me in and the spice had me speed reading so I could get to the next spicy scene🌶️💦
Mating a cyborg takes some bizarre twists in this short story. The dialogue is amusing and the concept is original. I enjoyed the story, and will look for more from this author
New-to-me sci-fi romance author that I can't get enough of, her books stay uplifting & funny without sacrificing the plot. I started with Her Grumpy Alien Boss & then couldn't stop. (Even though I had 3 new releases waiting on my kindle)
I got this book for free by signing up for the author's newsletter, everyone can. No review necessary, I just wanted to.
Series setup: The Draavian species (muscled green aliens who long to find their mate) joined the Galactic Agency & it's war long ago.
Once a Draavian warrior is fatally injured in battle, they're turned into cyborgs and returned to the battlefield. But they're no longer the same, they've been programmed to feel no emotions- only logic. They're both dreaded and shunned by others, especially their own kind, who fear the same happening to themselves.
Book Description: Socially awkward and bluntly robotic, Xinnick is the perfect example of what happens when a Draavian is turned into a cyborg.
Luckily Xinnick also had Xintari, a fellow Draavian and close friend, to reteach him the things cyborgs aren't programmed with.
When his close friend is fatally wounded in battle, he makes Xinnick promise to kill him if he can't be healed- to spare him from becoming a cyborg like Xinnick.
Summer is the nurse in charge of his friend's care. She's also Xinnick's newly found mate, and totally against killing her patient.
Xinnick can either please the mate he'd like to keep, or make good on his promise to a friend who never gave up on him. Xinnick wants both! So the battle begins.
All the shenanigans ensue! It's a hilarious and sexy ride that I didn't want to get off of. It stays uplifting, always has consent, & a complete HEA. Due to blushworthy heat and some sailor language, I suggest for adults only. An amazing start to the series, I can't wait to read more from this author.
Check out the couple's hilarious bantering from the book, listed below:
*** “This isn’t fair. You’re tricking my body somehow.”
“I do not have tricks to use,” he states plainly. “Your body wants mine for natural reasons.”
“Yeah. Natural reasons. Like having abstained from sex for so long that I crave it on some extreme level. Geez. Now a cyborg can wink at me and I’ll be his?”
“I have not winked at you,”Xinnick argues. “I do not have the ability to move my eyes in alternation. Are you saying that you would be mine if I could wink?”
“I didn’t say that!”
“You implied it, I need to determine its merit as a means to attract you. Do you know if a cyborg can be taught to wink?” ***
Xinnick, a Draavian cyborg soldier, accompanied his injured friend to the hospital ship “Nightingale”. He is mysteriously fascinated with his friend Lieutenant Xintari’s nurse, Summer Mason, and she keeps walking into him in his attempt to “stalk” her. He is not supposed to be able to “feel” these things toward her and is trying to understand what it means. When she finally convinces him to move out of her way, he follows her all the way to the bathroom, disrupting the only moment of privacy she has had all day! This time it was her fault because she called him a “pain in her [gluteal] region” and he was trying to assess the damage she had implied that he had caused. (I had to walk away for a coffee break when she called him “an overly-literal sack of sinew and bolts”.)
With Xinnick following Summer around constantly, she angrily and in her own inner pain for the patient, told Xinnick that his friend was not going to survive and would be turned into a cyborg. And that was something the patient himself was very much against. So Xinnick had promised to kill him if the worst should happen. When Summer told him the patient would be taken away the next day, Xinnick had an odd type of reaction and told her he felt things! But cyborgs don’t have feelings! What is happening? It had happened before also when they lost a friend in the fight and Xintari had told him not to report the malfunction so that he does not lose what is left of his heart… but it hurts when a friend is suffering. So when she begins to cry, he puts a blanket around her shoulders, holds her in his arms, and provides heat for her comfort. Her scent is pleasing, his heart beats faster although it should be controlled, and he has other feelings occurring. Where were these changes leading? Is the Draavian part of him still able to respond to a fated mate? And how will Summer respond?
What a wonderful short romance! A cyborg soldier who shouldn't be able to feel, an overwhelmed nurse who doesn't want to feel... yet what happens when they both do?
A combination of humor, compassion and off the charts chemistry bring Xinnick and Summer together in a fated mates story that is engaging, heart-tugging and super hot. The dialogue between the two was a highlight, both funny and touching.
Moxie writes with feeling and this is one you won't want to miss. There's also a hint at the end to an upcoming relationship which promises to be just as interesting.

I have this series and thoroughly enjoyed each book. Quick reads and characters you will enjoy, It is about a human nurse and a cyborg warrior. He has a mission and hers is to help the wounded I thoroughly enjoyed these books. Despite the background of war etc, there is humour that I always love in these books.

Summer is a nurse on the spaceship Nightingale, trying to save soliders’ lives. Xinnick is a cyborg trying to save his friend from becoming a cyborg. These two bump heads, but when their mutual attraction blossoms, their arguing becomes something more. I loved seeing the start of the Space Marine Hospital series - I’ve read the other books, so it’s nice to loop back to the beginning. The steam is top notch, and the romance is perfectly sweet. A delightful read.
Prequel to the series. A nurse is first aggravated by the Cyborg who accompanied his battle brother to the Nightingale hospital spaceship before he makes her rethink about Cyborgs. Inter species relationships are strictly forbidden by the Alliance, but resisting a fated mate is impossible.

This was a fab series opener and it really was an entertaining read for me. We get the forbidden romance trope here, quite nicely ;P But we also get humour and a wonderful connection between cyborg warrior, Xinnick, and human nurse, Summer. Fated romance at its best and a page turning read. Well done!
This book is just a lot of fun. If you like logic. And cyborgs. Who act like cyborgs, not just physically enhanced humans. It is funny. And has kind of fated mates. And sexy times. Just give it a try when you have a couple of free hours in a day that feels gray and never-ending and you need a bit of a pick-me-up. I will be checking out the following books in the series for sure.
