From Wall Street Journal and Amazon Charts bestselling author Brittney Sahin, comes a sizzling love story between a morally gray hero who doesn’t believe in second chances, and the woman who will make him question everything.

Five years ago, a phone call forever changed my life as I listened to my wife being murdered half a world away.

Going rogue from the CIA, I became a man feared by everyone as I sought vengeance. Lies she’d told and secrets she’d kept, pushed me over an even darker edge.

With nothing to lose, I became unstoppable. A devil among men. Until justice was served, or so I’d thought it’d been . . .

Working alongside a team of veterans, trying to find my way back to the man I’d once been, another life-altering call came, drawing me back to the dark world I’d left behind.

The assignment should’ve been straightforward. Rescue a brilliant scientist working on a classified government project and save the nation from an attack while I was at it. But nothing in my life was ever simple.

When the missing scientist turned out to be the same off-limits woman I’d been obsessing over for months, saving her life was the easy part.

Not corrupting her in the process was the challenge. Especially when that gorgeous woman, innocent and untainted by the evils of the world, begged me to do exactly that.

Our past was complicated. The chemistry between us, undeniable. The desire to claim her as my own and never let go, unbearable.

My team may have been up against our most formidable threat ever, but there I was about to do something I never did. Lose my control.

Author’s Note: This is Carter Dominick’s book in the Falcon Falls Security Series. This romantic suspense novel may be read as a standalone.

Intense, emotional, and thrilling!

Every once in a while, a character comes along that’s just more. More alpha, more intense, more protective. Carter Dominick is that character in Brittney Sahin’s The Fallen One. He’s tough, serious, and exudes an intensity brought on by pain and betrayal. He is one of the co-leaders of Falcon Falls security and he’s been sent on a mission to rescue a genius scientist, Diana Mackenzie, someone he’s know for 13 years.

This book is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I was totally immersed in this story. The suspense, intrigue, emotion, thrilling ride, and patented twists and turns that are all classic Brittney Sahin make this an unputdownable book. She is a master of weaving a great story with suspense, surprises, and loads of emotion. Her characters are beautifully flawed, but always a perfect fit for each other. Learning about Carter’s past was an emotional ride and my heart hurt for him several times. It gave me the chance to really understand why he is, who he is today. I loved that Diana was able to get through all his walls and see the man beneath yearning to come out. And always had his back. There was so much pain and betrayal for both of these characters, seeing them have their HEA was wonderful. The camaraderie, love, and trust between the Falcon Falls crew is incredible. It’s fun to see when they tease each other and heartwarming every time they show up for one another. I am eager to see what happens next with Oliver and his HEA.

Carter is no stranger to fans of the Falcon Falls series. His first appearance is in Chasing Fortune, book eight in the Stealth Ops series. But his story has eluded us and now is his time. I appreciated that Carter's story was not told via flashbacks. We needed this information as it is important to understand where he has been before we can move forward. Now I understand why The Fallen One is so long, it is basically two books. Brittney Sahin is a master storyteller, and this book is one of her best. She weaves tales of love and drama, keeping readers on their toes with plot twists and danger.

Carter is complicated, he is intense, he is protective, and that is why he is so good at his job. But it is this current job that will be his biggest test yet. Will he meet a woman that brings him to his knees?

I know my words cannot do justice to this book; my expectations were exceeded. I do recommend everything this author has written, and The Fallen One is her latest.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

What a ride!!!

Carter took me completely by surprise. This book was much deeper than I anticipated. We knew he harbored secrets and shielded his past. Never expected him to be carrying such emotional baggage from his youth, years in the service and his time with the CIA.

From foreign shores to the White House, The Fallen One is an epic journey of love and redemption. Carter and his lady love, Diana, first meet under harrowing circumstances. While they have an undeniable connection, Carter is a married man and she is not yet 21. Their encounter may have been brief, however it left a lasting impact on both. Carter’s life takes him on a journey he never envisioned, nor wanted. A phone call and tragic event lead him down a very dark path for a long time. He is finally emerging from the shadows when he is tasked yet again, the Devil must take center stage to stop a catastrophic event.

Diana is a daughter of D.C politics. She is brilliant and science is her passion. She once told Carter she wanted to save the world. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. She has never forgotten Carter and has never felt that same “energy” with any other man. When her work with Barclay Energy puts her in harms way, the devil is sent in to once again save her.

Carter and Diana must work together with his teams, both past and present, to stop an unknown force(s) from causing global destruction and devastation.

Carter & Diana are magnetic. Their chemistry is palpable from the first meeting through the epilogue. Many people had definite opinions of who should be his one true love. His character and past has been shrouded in mystery for most of the series and I wasn’t certain what his story would entail. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement.

Have snacks. This is a long read and worth every second.

5 stars for Connor Crais
4 stars Ava Lucas (didn’t love her guy voice)

Book: 3-3.5 stars

This can definitely be read as standalone!

I would have given this 5 stars especially for the first 350-400 pages, but then the last 200 pages kinda went downhill and I would give it 2.5-3 stars.

There were too many time jumps at the end and I wanted to know what happened especially after being strung along for what was going on with the mystery. It did kinda end on a cliffhanger, but for another couple, while Diana and Carters relationship ended on an HEA. The epilogue left a lot to be desired.

The writing for the first part of the book was addictive, and I couldn’t put it down! I loved seeing both Carter and Diana run into each other throughout the years, they are the definition of right person wrong time.

You do get some times of Carter being with other women (he was married, and you get I think one or two scenes with her), you don’t get descriptions or “seeing” that happen, but it’s talked about. And Diana did have a boyfriend, again no explicit scenes with him.

In the end the true star is Dallas!

Dom. The Devil. Carter Dominick. Five years ago he listened as his wife was murdered over the phone and as the world turned against him as he sought vengeance for her death. Only one woman held faith in him, giving him reason to believe in forgiveness and good. Partnered with a team of veterans with Falcon Falls Security, Carter thought he'd returned to good, but another phone call drags him back to the depths. He's tasked with rescuing a brilliant, beautiful scientist...the one who always believed in him, the one he absolutely cannot have.

Y'all, holy smokes. Holy insane chemistry. HOLY AGE GAP, MORALLY GRAY MC, GRUMPY SUNSHINE, ALL THE THINGS. Brittney Sahin said I can fit everything into this humongous 600+ page romantic suspense and a political mission at the same time. She pulled it off, if my five star rating doesn't give that away already. Carter hasn't been one of the main characters of the security team that I was dying to read, but that actually made The Fallen One all the better for me. Getting to know this grumpy man and the backstory to his jaded personality truly was incredible. As the world turned against him though, one young woman holds onto the belief that he is good, because she saw the real him. In fact, he's always let his walls down for her. I don't want to hide my review for spoilers, so I'll just say that the female main character will be an unexpected surprise for many readers and I hope they love her as much as I did.

There's a lot of emotional turmoil to get through for the happily ever after in this one, but it's worth it. I love a morally grey character finding hope, especially if a brilliant woman is the one to guide him to it. The Fallen One is a very classic romantic suspense, with the action taking the front seat and the romance sizzling slowly as the mission goes awry. You won't be able to put this one down, block out your calendar and settle in.

The plot started of good but too many characters further in the book created chaos and disinterest. I gave up reading the book and only completed about 3/4 of the story. Too long and parts of the story weren't really required. A pity as it started of a good read. I didn't like the author's style of writing much either.

Brittney Sahin has done it again!!!! She has written another thrilling steamy adventure featuring one of the co-owners of Falcon Falls Security. Carter Dominick does NOT disappoint in this book and his leading lady is the only one who can bring this man to his knees and makes his cold heart feel again. So much steamy sultry goodness in this thick book! You need to pre-order this book ASAP!!! Book releases on March 14th!

This is the second book in the past two weeks that I had been waiting on to be published. They were both let downs.

The book was written in POV, which I detest. The other books in the series were not POV, as well as the stealth ops series, why this one? The book was 700 pages long. That is entirely too long, and it had a cliff hangar at the end. The only reason I bought the book was because the author was Brittney Sahin. Usually, any book that is POV and long, I will not buy.

The first 200 pages was going over the past. That could have been done in 50 pages or less. There were a lot of things that could have been left out to shorten the book. As one reader stated, there were too many characters. If I had not read the previous books, including the stealth ops series, I would have been overwhelmed. There was constant talk and descriptions about cold fusion, weapons, physics, etc. A lot of the verbiage was confusing. It made me feel dumb, even though I have advanced degrees. Again, all of these descriptions could have been much shorter. I skimmed most of them.

I did not like the 12 year age gap between the two main characters. That just seemed a little too much. I know that was part of the story, but the age difference could have been less.

The book did not end. I do not feel that Diana and Carter lived happily ever after. Diana was still being guarded by secret service and hired guards in a foreign country while Carter is in another country. Their together time was spent over a computer. Then you have problems for Mya and Oliver to be covered in another book.

I had figured out who one of the bad guys was even before Diana was captured. I will admit that one of them was a surprise. But still, they were not all captured. That is still another book. With 700 pages, one would think that everything could have been resolved.

I know that everyone else loved the book, but I am not one of them.

I’m conflicted. So much happened in this book, it felt like I read 6 stories in one. The action was exciting and kept me turning the pages, but it also felt overly intricate. Carter’s vengeance arc, becoming the devil to uncover his wife’s murderer, feeling like he’d lost his soul in the process, was incredibly complex and not necessarily in a good way. It felt bogged down in details, like we could have trimmed the fat a bit and it still would have been a compelling plot. All of the politics, the science, the weapons race, were honestly fun to read, it was the sheer number of crossover characters and random politicians/billionaires that detracted from it all.

The romance was hot and cold. At some points the steamy tension was off the charts…but then it would drag on and on without going anywhere. And we spend a good 1/3 of the book being teased that Carter is going to be this loving Dom who will absolutely worship Diana, like a goddamn unicorn among mmc’s, only for that dream to deflate like a sad balloon. He basically realizes he “doesn’t have to be that guy” with her, while I had been silently screaming for their relationship to finally progress to that level. UGH. What a hottie, tho. In his 40s, dark and broody, dominant but also loves with his entire being and is obsessed with/worships his wife? All the ingredients were there, but instead of a molten chocolate lava cake from a Michelin starred restaurant, we got…a vanilla cupcake from a box mix 😭

Diana was a cute FMC. I enjoyed watching her evolve and mature throughout the book. She was nerdy and smart, and she stood her ground with Carter.

So yeah. A few stars for this being engaging & action-packed, minus some stars for the unnecessary details and for teasing this to be way steamier than it ended up being.

ARC Review:

We waited for Carter Dominick's story for years, and at 627 pages, he’s finally here! Did we really think he'd be anything less than...huge? Didn't think so.

Five years ago, a life-altering phone call led him on a vengeful path after his wife's murderer, taking him from the CIA to rogue agent status. Now, leading Team Falcon Falls, he's back in the shadows with a new mission: rescuing the brilliant scientist. But not just any scientist; she's a woman he's been obsessing over for months.

It took me a while to really get into the story as I found myself focusing more on the plot than the romance. But in true Brittney fashion, she keeps you guessing! Will I ever get tired of this team or this world? Absolutely not. Oliver and Mya are up next, and I can't wait to see where they take us!

Queen B, as always, THANK YOU for the ARC 🖤

Carter Dominick has been an enigma since he was first introduced in Chasing Fortune almost four years ago. Readers have watched him transition from rogue CIA agent to team leader with Falcon Falls while not really knowing who he is at his core.

The Fallen One answers every question in a story that is an homage to all that is Carter Freaking Dominick! The book starts out when he is still in the military and initially meets Diana during an op. It turns out she knows his wife, Rebecca, and they run into each other periodically over the years. Their lives become more intertwined through various things that happen until Diana ends up in danger and Carter realizes he will do anything to save her.

The plot is full of so many twists and turns that I forgot my initial theory until the end of the book! It was such a wild ride that I was more focused on my theories and the plot than Carter & Diana. Everything does eventually come together and Carter finally gets his HEA. That epilogue!

Dallas steals the show. As always, my favorite parts are the cameos from other characters. Griffin plays a big part in this story because he and Carter have been friends since they were in the military and I loved getting more of their history. Members of Falcon, Stealth Ops and Dublin Nights also make appearances and my heart was so happy to see them. I will never tire of reading about these characters and this world.

I cannot wait for Oliver & Mya's story!!

Thank you so much to Brittney for the ARC 💛

My good night!! I knew this character (Carter Dominick) was going to wreck me! Guess what.. he did!! In the best possible way, of course. Lol. He was someone that I could say was probably the most anticipated character for Brittney to write. She did not disappoint when it came to Carter. Within 10 percent of this book, my heart was absolutely broken. He was a character when he was introduced in Chading Fortune. You just knew he was this character that had so much depth and had soo much love to give. The events that shaped him, his past, and how he is such a guarded soul. He didn't deserve what happened to him in his 30s. He definitely went through his challenges. I am fully going on the record that Carter is an incredible character and is book husband material. He has easily claimed a top spot for me among Brittney's characters. I know I have said much about the MFC I will say, I loved loved loved her! (Since this is an early review) I am keeping the MFC anonymous to not spoil it for some of Brittney's readers. Their chemistry and his mouth with her are top notch! I love how she embraces his devil amd his angel! She new him in away that he deserved. She loved him in the way he definitely needed and accepted him without fault! Soulmates!
The author truly did a magnificent job with this book, I am positively smitten with The Fallen One, and I can't wait for the rest of the book Lover World to enjoy this gem!

•Narrator thoughts:
Connor Crais and Ava Lucas. They did a great job! this book was a girthy one. nothing better than being able to listen to these 2 for over 12 hours. They brought Diana and Carter to life!

It’s no secret that Brittney Sahin is an absolutely brilliant writer.  She weaves words and stories with extraordinary power. And she once again wielded her talent with Carter Dominick’s story of The Fallen One. He’s been a long time coming, and he did not disappoint!!!

Carter is a multifaceted man. He’s former elite military, former CIA, by the book. He’s also a man that went rogue when the life he thought he knew spiraled out of control. We now see a man that’s trying to right the world’s wrongs even if he is a bit morally grey in his administrations.  He’s definitely even more of an enigma as we’ve gotten to know his whole story.

Carter has fought demons from his past. They’ve made him the man he is today.  He sees himself as broken with no hope of redemption.  He’s just a man existing.  But when a piece of his past comes calling, he can’t refuse to answer the call, even though that puzzle piece is a beautiful woman that he shouldn’t be thinking of. There’s just something about Diana that he can’t resist. Every single meeting these two have had has held significance neither anticipated.

Diana is political royalty and an exceptional scientist in her own right. So much so, she’s become a target and possible political leverage. Cue Carter to save the woman he can’t seem to forget or escape.

These two are brought together and have to solve a political problem that could cause irrevocable harm to the world, all while fighting their attraction, their pasts, and personal fears.

Carter captured my heart long ago. And now I’m so invested in this man finding his way home to happiness, forgiveness, and a chance at love. And finally getting answers to what made this man into the dark shadow he had become was an incredible journey.  Add in a furry sidekick and our Falcon Fall team and well, this is some of Sahin’s best work, which says a lot since she delivers nothing but perfection!

Carter isn’t the fallen one, I am after reading this amazing story. “The Fallen One”’is a captivating, intense, and emotional romantic suspense that hooked me from the beginning and never let go.

Carter Dominick was CIA made but after hearing his wife being murder on the phone five years ago, Carter is now a rogue and now known as The Devil. But when his skills are needed to rescue a scientist and her crew, Carter is thrown back in the past of a woman who he met it a prior and has an instant chemistry with. Diana Mackenzie is a scientist who is working with the government on a secret project. Diana is just as surprised to see Carter again and she never forgot about him. But as Carter and the team start to unravel the case on their own, it’s clear that there’s more going on than the government is letting on. And Carter and Diana’s feelings start to surface. Diana is all in but Carter struggles with a second chance at happiness.

Wow, Carter and Diana’s story was absolutely beautiful and had moved up to my favorite of the series. Carter had always been a mystery, even with the little hints that we got from some of the other books. Carter is a great guy that was holding himself back because of some dark incidents that happened. His struggles broke my heart and I was rooting for him the whole time. Diana is a certified baddie herself and the light to Carter’s darkness. She brought life back to him when he needed it the most. I loved the plot and timeline of this book. It spans over several years and we really get to know Diana and Carter this way. How they meet and everything that they went through separately through the years. Their chemistry was undeniable and was coming off the pages. The tease until they finally gave into their attraction was worth the slow burn. I’m always amazed at how much detail and research Brittney does for her stories. That attention makes all of her books unputdownable for me. The teaser for the next book has me counting down the days until its release.

Carter. Freakin. Dominick.

I feel like I’ve been waiting to read Carter’s story since we first met him in Chasing Storms, from Brittney Sahin Stealth Ops series. (Probably because I have).

His book did not disappoint and, simply said, exceeded all expectations, which were high to say the least.

Brittney weaves her magic again and immerses us back into her world filled with intrigue and page-turning action. Weaving smart storytelling and real world concerns, with just enough science (told in a way this scienceless (totally not a word) reader can understand). Captivating her readers who are as invested in her cast of characters, she takes us on another adventure with Falcon Falls.

Intertwined.

That’s the best word I can think of to describe her characters and how brilliantly characters crossover from her series/worlds.

Can you read this book as a standalone? Sure, but why would you want to? The rest of the series is just as fantastic and add so much depth to all the characters and storyline.

I will admit to being on “Team Gwen” but after meeting and learning more about Diana, she is Carter’s perfect partner and their chemistry is smokin hot.

I love that the Devil had met his match in this sassy, brillant woman who obliterates his walls and saves his soul from complete darkness.

“Spying a drop of liquid at the corner of his eye, I lifted a hand between us to find out if it was real. He squeezed his lids closed as I caught the tear with my thumb. “I didn’t know,” he said, his hoarse voice catching on a shuttered sob. “I didn’t know it could be like this.”

I’ve been waiting for this book for FOUR YEARS AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! From page one I was drawn into the mind of Carter and I became OBSESSED with this book. I carried my kindle around like a second child to read it as much as I could!! I was bamboozled for all these years thinking Rebecca was this amazing woman but I’m not gonna lie, I wanted to throttle her the entire time she was in the book. LIKE YOU HAD CARTEN DOMINICK!! HOW COULD YOU!!

The one thing I was NOT prepared for was how often I was going to tear up, knowing Carter’s inner thoughts! Multiple times this man had my eyes leaking and my husband thought it was very funny to laugh at me.

“You two are the definition of hope, you know that, right? About how even in the face of total darkness, the light can still find its way through.”

This story was beautiful and perfect in every single way. Brittney has outdone herself… again… with this one. I recommend reading the other books in the series (AT LEAST) to fully understand what Brittney just did in this book 🤯 ⭐️: ♾️/5 🌶️: 3/5

O My Gosh, one of the best of out this series and that is saying a LOT.
It contains it all from almost the very first paragraph. So many emotions throughout, we as the reader are so drained I don't know how I kept reading, but putting it down wasn't an option either.
There is so much action and suspense but not too much, there is the happiness and joy as well in just the right places to keep us wondering when? or if they will or won't?
Brought Carter the mystery man and what makes him tick full circle and we see him grow and definitely become the man of the hour for good for a change. Diana is exactly what he needs at this most appropriate time in his life whether or he sees it that way but he won't let her down like he did with someone else. We see the growth in their characters throughout their history and it's just tooo much to not imagine that they will have their HEA.
Can't say enough good things about this book, but you are missing out if you don't go for it and grab a copy.

This book is breathtaking and absolutely beyond what a fan of Brittney’s writing could have dreamed of for Carter Dominick! It was worth the wait for Carter’s story!!

Carter has been this bigger than life character since he first appeared in Chasing Fortune, and exactly who or what he was continued to be this unsolved mystery. Reading The Fallen One gives us readers his complete story and its unbelievable in how detailed and emotional it is. This book is a gift for fans of Brittney who have read all her series because Carter and Diana’s story is interwoven with everything.

The connection between Diana and Carter is beautiful and sexy, haunting and inspiring.

Giving this book 5-stars is insufficient to convey how incredible it is. Brittney’s talent is unmatched and has me absolutely addicted and eager for more.

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Carter intrigued me from the moment he was first introduced. From the beginning, his story is characterised by intense feelings – heartbreak, death, anger, frustration, forgiveness and love. My heart was breaking for him from start to finish. His pain and frustration are so palpable – which shows Brittney‘s extraordinary talent!

I loved how you could feel the connection between Carter and Diana right from the start without making Carter seem like a cheater or anything of the sort while he was still married. Their connection simply is on another level and only grows stronger. They gravitate towards each other in a way that is unparalleled.

Carter might think of himself as the devil (as do many others), but Diana isn’t afraid of him or who he pretends to be and manages to turn him human again. She helped him become the man he once was and bring out his fun and goofy side. I loved the Carter we got to meet when Diana was around.

It‘s a story with twists and turns that has you on the edge of your seat every minute from start to finish, infused with a love story that melts your heart. Brittney‘s ability to weave stories together so perfectly is what makes this so special. She‘s simply a master of her craft!

Wow! Just wow!! Just when I think you can’t possibly write a book to top the last one…along comes the next one in line. Can’t wait to see what happens with Oliver and Mya. Back to Carter. He has been a bit of a fascination for me for a long time. So glad to finally get his story. I knew watching him find love again would be epic! Perfect combination of hard and soft. Grizzly bear and teddy bear. 100% Swoon-worthy. I’ll Admit that the details of these operations sometimes go straight over my head. They are so deep and intricate, that I’m lost. But, I still can’t put it down. I even contemplated calling into work sick so I could finish it. And I was only about 30% of the way into it at the time!! And Oh. My. God. You brought Sebastian into this story too? The fact that they are so similar has to be why I’m struggling to decide whether Carter just took Sebastian’s place as my first true love! Well freakin’ done…again!!

100 stars!
I received this book in exchange for a review:

Brittney Sahin you've done it again... thoroughly wrecked for all other books!

Carter Dominick... his long overdue story did not disappoint! As all of her other books do, this is one heck of a page turner... keeps you on the edge of your seat and has you holding your breath, getting anxious, getting upset, having multiple "awe!" Moments... its sooo much more.

Carter and Diana are perfect for each other and I absolutely loved how their story unfolded... what they thought was forbidden, finally became a reality and what they couldn't fight if their lives depended on it. Gah I love these 2 so much!

And of course Dallas... I have a huskie mix myself, Gunner, and I just had to snuggle him and give him scratches when Dallas was getting attention and praise!

You've outdone yourself Brittney!

Carter has been a mystery for forever. A wanted ex-army, ex-CIA billionaire who spent years chasing the person responsible for his wife, Rebecca’s death. Forming Falcon Falls with Gray his story appears in many earlier books but there are so many questions. In the Fallen One, Sahin takes you on a journey through his past showing you how the past influences his future. And nothing and I mean nothing is as it seems. Always seeming gruff & in control you discover his many layers and how one woman who ‘s chance meeting with him brings him to his knees time and time again. As I expect this book was so incredibly amazing. It answered questions I hadn’t even considered and gave such a thorough glimpse into Carter’s life then and now. I loved it and will happily add it to my personal library. And of course the teaser for what’s next, Oliver & Mya… holy moley.
