No One....is more romantic, sexier and hotter than Adam Morgan!
I couldn't love this story any more than I do now, it simmers with a wealth of emotions, it sizzles with love and romance. Of course, sex is hot but not overdone that it becomes meaningless like many books out there. It was just perfect, sizzling hot but still left a lot of room for imagination that tickles and teases the mind.
It's the many romantic gestures and undying love Adam has for Summer that tugged at my heart. What girl fortunate enough to have an Adam Morgan in her life is one helluva lucky lady! A skilled hot lover, handsome and successful, kind and generous, he is an epitome of one perfect Casanova.
I really enjoyed this so much, it focused on many different aspects in life that made it so believable. Summer had to go through the pressure and drama of being a contestant on a television sing off, losing her band and possibly getting kicked out of the competition to coping with a possible loss of family member who is lying in the hospital in coma. This is where Adam stood by Summer and her family and was a constant source of strength and support. The scene where Adam and Summer confessed their feelings for each other for the first time, looking at each others eyes saying " I love you " just made me teary. I can't say enough how much I loved this book, the ending was just perfect, no cliffhanger but still made me looking forward for the final book.
So, this is the second volume in the Starlight series. I kind of liked the first book and I was looking forward to the second one.
But...
In this book we've got the pleasure of meeting Dez, Summer's ex. And his presence turns Summer into a scary little mouse. The brave and self-assured girl I've met in the first book disappears because of this guy, who abused her when they were together. The whole sub-plot... It didn't work for me. I had this idea of strong Summer and I couldn't put up with the fact that she was so scared and weak.
After that I speed-read my way to the ending.
Yes, the part regarding the music contest was so short, compared to the first book that I was kind of disappointed. You know, the behind the scene of the music show was what got my attention when I read the first volume. Here, well, it's more about Summer's life than music.
She also has to rush back home because her nephew suffered a head injury and lots of pages are dedicated to this. In the end, when the big coup happens, well... there are not enough page to discuss it and it's been just thrown there and left.
I'll probably read book #3Star Crossed but not that soon.
The second installment of the starlight series following Adam and Summer. I again loved the growing relationship between Adam and Summer. I also liked that we got to see more of their families and friends this time, I feel as if we're building up to finding out about Adam's past in the final book.
The relationship between Summer, Tammy and George also made things more interesting, though I sometimes questioned why Tammy and George were ever friends to begin with.
Dez, Summer's ex, was introduced in this book and I'm glad to say he didn't hang around for long. That's one of the things I liked, every time something happened in the plot it wasn't dragged out until you got bored of it. It kept the reading light and easy.
The sex scenes weren't too overpowering in the book, they didn't detract from the story in any way.
I look forward to the final installment in the series. Overall I give Rising Star 4 stars!!!
This story is all about stars, wether it's being a star, trying to be a star or seeing stars there are lots of stars. Summer seems to go from one dram to another. Almost everyone around this girl cause some kind of chaos. Her ex, her family, her band mates and her fellow contestants. This girl never seem to catch a break. Well, correction, her love life is exceptional, how they never get caught is a mystery to me.
Pretty much more of the same from my first review (solid 3.5 stars). Again, bothers me this cover too has comparisons to Fifty Shades and Bared To You because it is not the same at all.
Natural progression was made from book 1 to book 2, didn't feel forced or jumpy. Ends on a positive note, no cliffies per se but book will continue on to see how some circumstances play out. Book 3 TBD.
I'm really enjoying this series of books. I love the characters of Adam and Summer and I can easily see how she can fall in love with him as I am a little in love with him myself. I can't wait to read the final book.
This book was okay, but too drawn out for me. The storyline and conflicts seem contrived. The nephew's accident just doesn't fit the story, but is filler.
