This isn't a bad textbook supplement for kids, and it does serve a bite sized attention span, but it isn't really fun the way kurzsagat entertains with stem information. For adult learners, it does have up to date information, but it doesn't build into anything practical.

I didn't notice anything wrong, and the summaries were fine, despite having no words to waste.

This felt like a corporate, commercial effort to serve school libraries and maybe stem driven parents.

I most missed memorable examples, such as the Hawaiian bobtail squid for symbiosis, luminescent bacteria making it look like the moon from below. Nothing to entice deeper study of any of the topics.

Finally, I myself like books, but this seems perfect for a short video format, with self paced quizzes built by AI from these text summaries.

Biology is not my strong suit, so I picked up this book from my local library to brush up on the subject. I thought this book did a good job of distilling a lot of information into the most important topics. The "100 words" concept is a little gimmicky, but the author did a good job of only capturing the key points of each concept. Plus, the book was well designed and error-free (as, sadly, a few of my recent library pick-ups have no been). It's not the greatest book I've read, but I learned a few things, so it served its purpose.
