I’m the number one goalie for the Bay City Brawlers Hockey Team. We only have one more game until the Stanley Cup and it’s ours. We have to win because this will be my last game. At thirty-three I’m done. Done with the bullshit fights. Done with the pain that will now be with me for the rest of my life. And that’s what I finally want. A life.
She walks back into my life uninvited. The little step-sister I haven’t seen in five years. Sexy, unattainable eighteen-years old and not for me. Except she still follows me around and there’s a connection I can’t ignore.
I’ve always been in love with Billy Wallace. Ever since his dad married my mom when I was two. Now I’m eighteen and know what I want. And I’m going to get him and he can’t ignore me. He can’t ignore our connection and I won’t fail.
I got sucked into reading this by a positive comment on a book group post. It’s was terrible. No character development, no plot development, even the spice was abrupt. But that’s not the worst of it. The editing on this book must have been nonexistent. Truly horrendous.
This is the first book I've read by this author Ive always had a reading trope love for step brother romances definitely age gap the better. This main female character in the book, i felt for her the whole time throughout this whole book. I've dealt with the parent that was on "their own path" instead of being a parent. The main characters met when she was four years old and he was 18 yrs old.
They find each other again at a Puck Bunny Bar after one of Billy's games. Hes 35, and ready to retire of professional hockey team and Lorelei is 21 starting her college career. Billy offers to drive her home isntead of her getting hit on by another one of his teammates.
She makes him aware thats things arent like they used to be. The presentation of the house from long ago isnt the same. Enter Dena, Lorelei's mom makes her presence known as soon as opens the door to the whole. Billy's emotions are high because what has been going on his dads death.
This book will keep you on edge until the very end. Definitely recommend to anyone with a step brother age gap insta love reader.
Billy and Lorelei are cute together!! This is a step sibling second chance at love book! I wish the book was longer. Lorelei’s mother Dena was horrid and embarrassing! I felt so bad for Lorelei that she had to deal with her mom’s addictions and abuse but now that she’s with Billy everything will be better!
It was decent. Author spent more time on things that didn't matter and when you finally got to the spice, it was very underwhelming. I am reading another one of her short stories just to see. I was expecting a whole lot more to be honest.
