By the end of the book you have to wonder how anyone survives, including Kane At some points it's rediculous, with so much lead flying around, people could walk on it, other times people fire one shot and the target goes down. Either Tier-1 ops are good or they aren't, it needs to be consistent Lastly, the number of people Kane kills of supposed allies makes you wonder if he will ever have a safe place to rest, especially given the people/allies he is killing Having said all that, it's a good, fun book. Highly entertaining and blisteringly fast paced. The main story doesn't really start until a few chapters in and you get almost a short story at the beginning as a treat
Wow! Kane: Death Stalker, by Brent Towns, is one extremely exciting ride!
John ‘Reaper’ Kane has accepted a mission provided to him by British British MI 6: to find and bring to safety an Iranian scientist who is currently in Gaza. In the mean time, we have Iranian Quds Forces, British SAS, Israeli commandos, and Odin's Warriors, an environmentalist terrorist group, all having the same mission and will do everything in their power to prevent Kane from completing his mission. And this international mission takes place in Iraq, Iran, England, and Malaysia.
Be prepared: this is definitely one book you won't want to put down once you start reading it.
John 'The Reaper' Kane just wants to lead a quiet life after the end of Team Reaper. When MI6 contacts him and asks for his help to get an Iranian scientist out of Iran, he agrees. But nothing is what it seems and the Reaper soon ends in fights with various governments and their agencies. But when he's all alone and has no chance to win, John Kane strikes back with a vengeance. Just imagine Bond combined with Rambo on steroids, and you get a glimpse of what awaits you in 'Death Stalker'.
This is half of a good book. Having read all of this series, I hate to say this, but Towns may have used AI to write some of this one. Some sentences just came out of nowhere. And the last half of the book is a mess, with an abrupt ending that makes no sense. The CIA contact also suddenly changes from Sandra Locke (a nod to the actress?) to Rachel Locke. Kane is a great character, but as fast as Towns writes, he needs an editor.
This was another intense, complex, and suspenseful story with many unexpected twists. Didn't like the ending, which of course ended with a cliffhanger. The original story was completed, then it started another mission, and was stopped within a page of it. Honestly, I really don't see the point of doing that. It just makes me want to not read any more of that series. JMO! I would recommend this book, series, and author.
Plenty of action, both inside and outside the bedroom! Burn through the chapters pretty quick and the story keeps going and going! Typical Reaper book, good action, not much thought required. Don't get attached to any characters.
Wow with soo many bullets flying everywhere it's a wonder anyone survives .Great complex plot as all these books are ,and a really great action packed read ,not knowing who to trust and love it when Kane and Jenson work together as the complement each other soo well ,can't wait for the next book !!
Mind you, Die Hard is what keeps being referenced in the book. Lots of shooting and death, and some sex thrown in, but I'm afraid there's not much else here. This guy should be dead by now with the amount of bullets he takes.
Absolutely a nail biter novel. Realistic in the story line so even the lead character (Reaper) receives injuries.I recommend this novel to any and all who are looking for fast action.
Anyone who enjoys action Will love this book. The characters are enjoyable and keep you wanting more. I couldn't put the book down it just kept getting better
Didn't finish it. I'd just read another of his series and found I wasn't into continuing. Decided I was done with his writing style and was noticing it more than the story.
This book read like a Jason Bourne movie! Also, the author doesn't have to continue to say, "The man called Reaper!" Just say Reaper! A gun crashed? Just say fired!
