Gō Ikeyamada (池山田剛, born May 25) is a Japanese manga artist. She made her debut with Get Love!! in 2002, which was serialized in Shōjo Comic. Her manga mostly consists for a more young adult audience, due to some explicit content.
This series is utterly ridiculous, even for a Shoujo. I wasn't SUPER keen on the first volume, but I was somehow sold on the premise because of how unseriously this title obviously takes itself.
HOWEVER, when you display blatant sexual assault on a minor and pass it off as not a big deal?? Yeeaaa, UM, no. I really don't understand how anyone could think it's okay to play off a teacher making sexual advances on one of her students as a means to show how "cool" a character is. I understand that the scene was to show how Aoi is "allergic" to girls or whatever (wtf???), but that is MESSED UP. (I also work/mentor teenagers as a part of my job, so I'm particularly sensitive to this type of thing.)
Another huge problematic element for me here was the Gay Panic one of the characters experiences.
Also, the whole "gender-swapping/cross-dressing" twin thing was obviously going to run its course, and it does so here, but it was obvious that was going to happen from the first volume. Still, it's the initial draw of the premise, so to see its hook used up so quickly was a bit disappointing (though it may have been more annoying if it was unconvincingly drawn out too, so.)
I will give props to this series for including a Deaf character. I don't know anything about the Deaf community (let alone the Japanese Deaf community) so I can't speak to the authenticity or sensitivity to Shino's character, but it's so rare to see Disabled rep in any work (be it manga or otherwise), so that was great. It's also great to see that the Deaf character is a love interest.
Despite my large misgivings with this, I do have the third volume on hold at my library. Trashy shoujo romance is kind of my jam, so I'll put up with a lot of nonsense if it's light and fluffy. However, if this series doesn't pick up in volume 3, it's getting the boot.
Twins, Mitsuru and Megumu Kobayashi, are back at it again. They are halfway through their week of switching places and things are certainly getting more complicated. After both having fallen in love while cross dressing, they now must keep up the charade despite the fact that they want to tell their love interests who they really are.
This volume was super cute in some parts and really bothered me in others. There was a scene with sexual assault that I do not think was properly addressed and I don't think needed to be in this. I am hoping it gets resolved or addressed in a later issue.
I do think the rest of this volume was cute and it did have me laughing at certain points with the odd turns this plot takes. It is a cute manga and hopefully it continues to get better as the series goes.
I can see why volume 2 has higher ratings, there's some BL! Who doesn't like some awkward BL moments. The antics in volume 2 are heightened a little. And there's some back story to the crushes, so that was very amusing to read.
Memu is continuing her relationship with Aoi and it's cute when she tries to protect him. He has a weakness! Is very funny that you realize he can't be around girls. I really like this storyline. The story behind his eye patch is hinted a little, but I still want to know why he has to wear one.
Mitsuru still has a crush on Shino and you find a little back story to Shino and *gasp* is related to Aoi?! Oh how everyone is tangled together. The author is even giving more page time to the girl bully, which I find amusing to read too.
Overall, volume 2 really surprised me and I wished I checked out volume 3 from the library so I don't have to wait.
This manga is adorable!! (emphasis on the exclamation point) I think there is going to be an unexpected relationship that is going to be explored in the next volume plus some people know the ultimate secret of this series now. This particular volume was amazing because it developed the new relationships from the previous volume plus, it showed some Japanese Sign Language in a nice sweet way (as opposed to previous series that makes it very dramatic which is not bad but it takes away from the story). Anyhow, that was a tangent but I truly enjoyed this volume and very excited to continue the series more especially to see how the love stories (as well as friendships) turn out!~ 4-4.5 out of 5 stars
But the rest of the of the book is more main stream. The twins discover their crushes are brother and sister! Megumu discovers her crush is 'allergic' (not actually) to girls but because he thinks she's not a girl, he can mostly be near her.
Things slide down hill as certain someones discover their deception.
Other then that awful starting scenario to the book that was used to reveal the 'allergy' to girls, this was another cute, funny, filled with beautiful art volume.
This is series is very cute and I come off of every volume thinking the two main characters and their love interests to be very cute. So cute in fact that I almost forgot about a blatant sexual assault scene between a teacher and her high school student.... It was very jarring and happened very quickly to sort of cause an awkward "cute" moment between two characters, so just a warning this happens and was not really addressed. Aside from that - the plot thickened at the end and I am interested to see how the love story unfolds.
I mean, this really is terrible. There are things in this volume that definitely rubbed me the wrong way, but it's so completely over the top and ridiculous that it made me laugh out loud like, a LOT. I'm not totally sure if the parts I was laughing at were meant to be laughed at, but I'm enjoying the stupidity of this series immensely. I really needed a break from all the serious poetry and non-fiction I've been reading lately I guess!
Oh my gosh, this is sooo cute. I mean I know it says it in the title but I wasn't expecting this much cute. This technically isn't yaoi or yuri but it looks a lot like it (so if you're into that you might like this). But urgh! all the ins and outs and complications of cross-dressing twins!
But we get to find out what's going on between Aoi and Shino.
A strong follow-up. The author continues to ride the wave it created in volume 1. The characters are more and more well-defined and unique, and the author didn't reveal everything in the first volume, so that the reader is interested in continuing to read the story.
Turns out Shino and Takenaka are siblings! Also Shino found out about Megumu actually being a girl at the end, and the bully found out about Mitsuru actually being a boy 🫢 also wouldn’t Shino be considered bisexual technically? 😭

Pretty strong second volume. This pretty much ends the prologue for the manga having a cliffhanger ending the volume. Great art and fun characters make this a must read.
Not gonna lie: I read this series super fast and don't remember it super well. The romance was cute, though, and I liked it enough to keep reading until the end.
