Megumu and Mitsuru Kobayashi are back at it again and this time their cross dressing secret is out! However, there week long switch is almost up and then they will have to leave there loves behind as they go back to their respective schools, will they ever see them again?

Another cute edition, I do think this series can go a little overboard at times and ends up being all over the place; however, I do love that each book seems to include more sign language in it (due to a deaf love interest). Super cute and I can't wait to see what trouble the Kobayashi siblings get into next.

This series really is So Cute It Hurts.

And for once, there's a bit of a love triangle that doesn't annoy me. Tokugawa liking Mitsuru and being too proud to actually admit it, and Mitsuru liking Shino is sweet.

It's a cute manga, and I'm hoping it stays a little goofy even though characters are already pairing up.

Quick recap: Megumu and Mitsuru Kobayashi are fraternal twins who have been dressing as each other at their schools as part of a wacky scheme to bring up Mitsuru’s history grades. Each of them has fallen in love while in disguise as the opposite sex. Hilarity ensues.

This volume picks up moments after Aoi, the eyepatched hunk Megumu has a crush on, got visual confirmation that she’s actually a girl. (She’s put on a towel in the intervening seconds, preserving the “Teen” rating.) After some relationship fumbles caused by neither party having been in a romantic relationship before, it’s established that Aoi still likes Megumu (and is secretly relieved he’s not gay) but he still gets panic attacks whenever he gets closer than two feet to a girl.

Meanwhile, Mitsuru’s secret has been spilled to school bully Tokugawa (without the necessity of being naked). She simultaneously hates him and is lusting for his body, and winds up blackmailing Mitsuru into a date in exchange for not revealing the secret to the teachers. Mitsuru isn’t sure how to take this, and he still hasn’t gotten around to telling his deaf sweetie Shino who he really is.

This volume appears to be the end of the crossdressing plotline, though I suspect Mitsuru will need to dress up as Megumu again at some point. Now we’re on to more standard complications to teen romance, as Aoi angsts about the dark secret behind his panic attacks, and Tokugawa doesn’t understand why Mitsuru is attracted to Shino more than her. (Hint: It’s because Tokugawa is a bully and Shino is a beautiful cinnamon roll, too good and pure for this sinful Earth.)

The art and characters continue to be adorable, although the sugar level may be way too high for some readers now that the gender-bending shenanigans are over. I especially liked the scene where Megumu uses her recently learned sign language skills to express her feelings to Aoi when words just weren’t cutting it.

Still recommended to shoujo fans.

Aoi Sanada is SO freaking cute! I'm digging the eye patch and his laid back style. Now that he's figured out that Megumu is a girl, he is visibly relieved to not be gay. But he still has that small issue of panic attacks whenever he is within two feet of a girl. How can he overcome passing out whenever he gets too close? Especially since he really likes Megumu and her silly school girl antics (which really surprised me because he's the strong, silent type, yet he can admit to himself that he likes how over the top in love that Megumu acts. That's really sweet of him.)

Back at the all girls school, mean girl Azusa still can't figure out why Mitsuru (boy twin) likes Shino and not her. Mitsuru doesn't have the guts to tell her that he doesn't like her because she's MEAN. So Azusa takes matters into her own hands and orders Mitsuru to go on a date with her or else she'll spill his cross dressing secret to Shino. This 'date' sounds like a disaster waiting to happen!

Volume 3 of So Cute It Hurts is filled to the brim with sweetness and mushy love. It's even cuter than the first two volumes. I'm loving how this story is progressing, and I can't wait to read the next volume.

~3.5/5

I want to like this series more, but it is cute. The exaggeration is sometimes a bit much, but otherwise it’s cute.

Now two out of the three know about the twins’ switching. Sanada finding out brings him and Megumu closer, and the focus on their relationship is very cute in this volume. They’re kind of adorable, and I do like Sanada a lot. The problem is that he can’t get close to girls without passing out, so they can’t be physically close. This is sure to be hard for them, but they’re trying.

Then Azusa finds out about Mitsuru, and instead of being a bully, she’s finding herself falling for him. I’m not enjoying this storyline as much, but it’s interesting. I like Shino, too, so I’m not sure how I feel about this. It’s going to be interesting, for sure.

I’m not getting pulled in enough with this series, but I am interested enough to pick up another one. I’m very up-and-down on how I feel about it so far.

So cheesy

This manga is so cheesy it hurts! 😂 it’s pretty stupid but I can’t stop myself from reading it. And who’s ever heard of being allergic to girls? 😂

Ahhhhhh 🥰🥰😍😍😍 I love this series still. There were love confessions in this volume things are going very well with some twists. I think the leading guy with the eye patch is so adorable and the chibi artstyle is cute as well so I am eager to read another volume of this series especially since its very fluffy and fun yet dramatic all at the same time. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars

Another strong opus. The story moves along at a brisk pace, issues from volume 1 have been resolved and new ones are forthcoming. It seems like the cross-dressing hijinks are over. I hope the sotry stays fresh and will avoid cliches. All is in place for a "standard" high school romantic comedy so I am afraid/anxious to read volume 4.

The week long switch comes to an end this volume, leaving Megumu and Mitsuru scrambling to figure out how to continue seeing their crushes. While Meguma and Aoi seem to mostly figure things out (minus the allergy thing), Mitsuru is left struggling.

This one was still good, but it didn't have as much clout as previous volumes.

This one focuses more on the sister's story, which I liked more. At first it was a little confusing, not knowing who was who and if they were switched, but it seems like the two siblings have parallel storylines and don't really intersect too often.

There's still tension between, Megumu and Aoi. I'm very curious about this aversion to the opposite sex. We do get a glimpse of it!

Not gonna lie: I read this series super fast and don't remember it super well. The romance was cute, though, and I liked it enough to keep reading until the end.

The plot is moving along quickly, which makes me excited for the next volume. Also the confession scene is one of the cutest I've even seen.

I'm a bit disappointed because it seems to me that the plot is proceeding to fast. I mean, in this volume . What will happen next between the two of them?! OK, I understand that but this doesn't seem enough. Let's see...

This volume focuses more on Megumu rather than on Mitsuru and I miss his part. I mean, Shino is probably one of the more interesting character I've seen in a manga and she didn't play a big role in this third volume.

I've already bought volume 4-7 and pre-ordered the other ones. Let's start the Gō Ikeyamada galore!

THE SECRET IS OUT! GOSH DARN IT! THESE TWINS EVEN MESS UP AT THE SAME TIME!

Aoi knows that Megumu has been cross dressing as her brother. Now he know she's a girl and he can't get close to her anymore. And when she tries to smooth things over he says 'I can't be friends with you.' Poor small child.

Meanwhile, the evil Tokugawa knows that Mitsuru has been cross dressing as his sister! Even worse! She has some perfect blackmail material. Will she expose him? Or is she still lovestruck over Taro Yamada?

This series has 15 volumes.
