The Hidden Cove #1

Losing My Siren Luna

Rate this book
He wants her back.

She wants her freedom.

She willingly died to get free. Only, death wasn’t the end to her suffering. When she opened her eyes moments after her death, she was back to the moment it all began.

Her wedding day.

Killian began to whimper in my head, and my heart felt like it was breaking all over again.

The pain I felt when she rejected me might be the only thing that could ever come close to the pain I am feeling right now, watching the love of my life, the woman I desire more than anything, my mate and the only future I will accept, smiling under the arm of another man.

She is accepting him. Accepting his touch, his presence, his conversation, and I’ve been praying for the last several hours that she just accepts my apology.

A story about rebirth, and an Alpha’s hardpressed journey to redemption.

This story contains some SA, language, violence, abuse

Elelira, forced by her uncle into a marriage alliance with the rumored monstrous alpha of the south, was surprised to find on her wedding day that he was actually her mate.
Due to a secret she and her late mother kept, he wouldn’t feel the mate bond for two more years, until it was too late.
Elelira, having grown weary and worn down by her husband's mistreatment, builds a wall around her heart and on the day she turns 20, the day Lachlan can feel the bond, she rejects him before escaping into the sea.
Her freedom is short lived as her quest to find her real father takes her back to her abusive Uncle’s pack, where she is captured and tortured until her death.
She hopes that is the end, but as soon as her eyes close, they open again and she is back at the beginning; the beginning of her suffering. She traveled back to the day of her wedding, and has to live through all that pain and torture again.
Or so she thinks…..
Lachlan was against the marriage to the conniving Alpha Wayne’s niece, fearing he was being trapped and leashed, but he had no grounds to refuse since he was the one who needed the alliance after a long war with the clans of the North.
Elelira was like a temptress from hell, or so he thought. He desired her, but he thought that was just a trick from her uncle. No matter who or how many women he slept with, it was Elelira’s face that haunted him relentlessly. He fought against the desire, holding out for the day he could annul the marriage and find his true fated mate.
By the time he realized it was her all along, it was too late.
To correct the mistakes of his past, he sacrificed greatly to get a second chance.
What he didn’t expect, though, was for her to come back with all her memories of the future from the past as well. And because of the deal he struck to be given this chance, he can’t reveal that he was the one that saved her.

Hey y'all!

My name is Chelsie. I'm an indie author living in SW Oklahoma. I started writing fantasy and contemporary romance in 2022.

I'm a mother to two. Wife to the most amazing man. If I'm not writing, I'm usually reading. Traveling and fitness are also hobbies I love.

I love to use my imaginary worlds to create yummy men (who all strangely remind me of my husband) and strong, resilient female characters who are not perfect, but grow into women fighting for their own happily ever after.

The plot is a tempting one and has a lot of promise but the writing itself was full of grammatical errors and lacked depth.

The storyline is great! I love the gist of it and how it keeps pulling you back in. However, the grammatical errors and typos were overloaded. I understand this probably did not go through a publisher or a good one when she finally moved over to books instead of a storytelling app or site, but still. Also, the way the point of view changes randomly in a chapter or only with a dash.Absolutely am in love with this story! Found this on the dreame app and am so happy that it got turned into a book!!!
It caught my attention from the very beginning and I can’t wait to dive into the second one!

The book plot was pretty good, I quite enjoyed it. The only thing I didn’t liked about this book was, how much everyone was poking their noses in other people business, also the disrespect towards MMC even though he supposed to be alpha.
Kinda reminded me high school.
FMC always jumping into conclusions without knowing situation also become a bit annoying towards the end.

worth it

I really enjoyed these two books. It was different from other supernatural stuff I’ve read so far. The writing was better than what I usually find. It was easy to read and care about the characters. Turns I didn’t expect, which rarely happens.

I’m at 67% and this story is so boring that I’ve been trying for a week to read it but it just hold my attention. It started off right in the rejection with very brief details and all the betrayals to the FMC. But since her rebirth it has been a whole lot of nothing. The FMC and her alter ego inner lycan keep going back and forth about giving the MMC another chance because it’s a different life and due to the mate bond BBS. While the MMC is a straight fuck up who was also reborn with all his memories and all I can think is, where’s the actual story??

The inner monologues and feelings of the main characters is so boring and the author has the nerve to drag it out across two books for this same couple. I’m honestly dreading reading the second book because this book is a complete waste of my time so far. The MMC has at least attempted to change things but the FMC has done nothing but plan to wait out her two years until she can become a fish again. She not planing anything. She’s not learning anything. She’s not being proactive or productive in any way. Like why get a second chance if you are literally not going to do anything more for yourself to make sure things turn out differently? What’s the point of this story then?!? Ugh. TBC.

FINAL UPDATE

I got distracted writing a review for book I didn’t even read over a review I did read instead of writing a review for this book because it was so damn boring!

I am going to finish this series but unless it’s chock full of drama and not so much aimless angst, I’ll probably not like it as much as I don’t like this one.

The FMC is so lame. I get she has trauma but she is such a lump that she does nothing this entire book to help herself in any kind of useful way. While she did help like two other people in this story, I didn’t feel like she really did anything at all.

As for the MMC, if it wasn’t because of the mate bond I would be rooting for a new MMC. Even still, I’m hoping for a second choice mate because this author did mention about how a lycan who is mated or bonded to one person can choose to mate another even without going through the rejection process if it is done on a full moon. So fingers crossed that we get a better MMC2. But since the blurb on both books if from Lachlan I won’t hold my breath.

I LOVE rebirth stories. I especially loved, “Marry My Husband”, “I Can’t Eat Love”, “What Goes Around Comes Around”, “One More Chance”. Even “Echoes of the Fallen” had good parts but wasn’t a favorite. But so far this book has only dragged out angst and very little revelations on the differences between the first and second life. It has next to no improvements to the second life except to spoil the FMC like they are preparing a fatted calf for slaughter. She hasn’t tried to educate herself, train herself, hasn’t tried to learn anything new or useful to help herself in the second life. All she’s done is play the waiting game, which is exactly what she did in her first life.

Like I said, dragged out angst, leading book two where the blurb implies actual changes to the FMC. Again, I’m not holding my breath. There is limited creativity in this book, while have a ton of grammatical errors and continuity issues. Like the necklace thing. The FMC had her mother’s necklace in her first life and used it to kill herself to escape her rape and torture AFTER already being raped and tortured, smh. But in the second life she had the necklace on day one and that same night the MMC gave her a new necklace from her father and the rest of the book only talks about the new necklace. Up until the last chapter where her father’s guard Cedric explains that it’s the same necklace from her mother from her first life and how they had found it in the ocean after she died in the first life. He had recalibrated it for the FMC in her second life but it still makes NO SENSE as to how they got the same necklace in the second life at the same time or what happened to the necklace she already had on day one of life #2. It’s a mind boggler.

Anyway, lots of issues and two books when this could have been written a bit better so it could be one book. Wish me luck that book two is a thousand times better than this book was.

This book talks about physical, psychological, and sexual abuse. It was tear jerking at times and others very heart felt. I loved this book and loved the complexity of the characters. Shows how ptsd has affected the main character making her extremely relatable. Especially to those who had similar abuse. I have a hard time reading anything to do with SA but this was great and had just enough information/ detail to give the reader the point if view needing to convey while also not going into excruciating detail to where I couldn't read it. I loved these books and would recommend to anyone who loves fantasy/romance books. I'm looking forward to reading this authors other series books.

Is this a five star book? Yes! Am I happy about that, no! This book had me reading non-stop even while I was eating LOL. THEN the end was incomplete and left me on a cliffhanger... This book cannot be read as a stand-alone and I'm not ready to start the next book but I'm doing it against my will LOL I want to rate it ZERO stars and be mad about it.... But the story is worthy of five stars. BUT I'M STILL MAD ABOUT IT....

I enjoyed the story, but there were some slow points in the story making me want to skip forward and a lot of repetition of the same thought process. There were a lot of formatting inconsistencies too, but I think a new version of the book was released after I bought it and I think that was maybe fixed.

It wasn't my favorite, but I'm still interested in reading book 2.

Beautifully written story. Great character development! Everything is captivating, but so many heart wrenching moments as well. Fair warning- it ends on a helluva cliffhanger, so be ready to grab book 2 ASAP!

This was a really really good book.
I absolutely loved the groveling and that he did acknowledge his faults. OMG so good.
Now about that misunderstanding at the end, it is totally believable given the circumstances.
I can't wait to read the second book and see what happens.

4.5 ⭐️ - pleasantly surprised, I really loved this. Yes there was grammar and formatting errors but I liked it despite those. They didn’t take away from the story really. I just noticed them then moved along.

Good story line but not a fan on the writing style which is too wordy in my opinion. I skimmed the last half of the book just too get through it.
