Vengeful Hearts

I am really stoked at how I have Discovered a new world in between the pages of a new author. …I’m really looking forward to the author Expanding this world, well at least I’m hoping that she will Expand this world
This book is a dark mafia romance that contains topics that may be triggering to some readers
The 3 Hall sisters had grown up in foster care after their parents were killed in a car accident….. So basically what I’m telling you is that they’re more or less grew up on the streets of New York…… Without the proper guidance, they each went their own way.
Olivia was the good girl who always followed the rules, hence becoming a cop. Erika was the rebellious one, but with street smarts and a knack for computers. Natalia, on the other hand, was the vulnerable one. She was easily influenced
After the tragedy that fell upon the Hall sisters once again, Erika finds herself in somewhat of Sticky situation with the cops, and finds herself going undercover to safe her own butt
Blaise grew up in the Italian Mafia, One of Blaise’s biggest fears was turning into his father…… As soon as he turned 18, he walked away from that life Style.
He changes his name and Enlisted in the army, after his father made sure that he could no longer have Contact with his mother and sister.
Blaise formed a tight bond in the military with three troop mates: Jared, Cruz, and Dexter…… those 3 men felt more like family then his own father did
So, five years ago, when Blaise actual family was brutally murdered. Blaise finds himself in New York and his only purpose was to avenge the death of his mother and sister.
Crazy how these two Vengeful Hearts have cross paths, and at times you might ask yourself if they our on same side or not……
Omg, I can see so many scenarios playing out In my mind’s eye with pretty much anyone or all of these Characters In this story. …….. So please just tell me S. Lexi that you have plans to write a book for each one of Jared, Cruz, and Dexter

READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!!
This story was amazing. The writing got better the farther you got in the book.
At the beginning some of the chapters were a couple of pages a repeat of what happend in the chapter before, or a conformation of what the character in the chapter before thought, also some of the explanations were repeated. The german commands for the dog were also explained (translated) and this was unnecessary. The plot twist were unexpected and amazing, This book is also super spicy!
The german Shepard in this book was amazing and really was a good character in the book it wasnt a lack luster side character in the book with no goal. The FMC was amazing, she was sassy, witty and kick ass. She didnt fall for the MMC right away.
The MMC was good but not amazing, for him it was a bit insta love which was a bit creepy, the nickname hellcat was fun tho. He did however gave her the k*lls for the persons she wanted to get revenge on. With a hammer 🤭
He also worked on himself to make the relationship better and improve himself.
I cant wait to read the rest of this series!

This book is between a 4 and 5 for me but I’m rounding up because I REALLY did love it. When it comes to mafia/dark romance nothing beats a bad *ss FMC for me and that’s exactly what Erika is. She’s so strong and brave, on a revenge mission when she meets Blaise. I loved the chemistry between these two and how Erika had so many tricks up her sleeve. They’re both out to hurt the same person who took important people away from them and I enjoyed seeing them fall from each other even if the starting situation wasn’t the best.
There were plenty of twists and turns which I really enjoyed and the SPICE between these two was everything. I loved that Blaise finally saw Erika as an equal at the end and how he was always so impressed by her. She’s no damsel in distress and is able to handle her own. I also loved the supporting characters in this story, I know we get Cruz in the second book (I LOVED him) but I very very much want Olivia and Tyson!
My only complaints were 1. That some things were overlooked randomly, such as the fact that supposedly Erika was able to hack their security system and escape whenever she wanted. This was spoken about once and never brought up again which was weird. We also never found out much about how she was stealing from people. 2. Blaise never really got his revenge. I guess I was confused as to why Erika got to kill both guys and Blaise didn’t? Maybe he felt like he did enough stealing his empire for his family’s death but I thought he wanted the leader and just completely dropped it? 3. I also would’ve been a *little* more upset about the Carla thing. I’m glad this book wasn’t super high drama but it just seems like something Erika should’ve been more upset about.
These are such minor things that it really didn’t take away from the book at all. It was still an amazing read and you absolutely fall for both Blaise and Erika. I can’t wait to see what comes next for them in future books getting their turn to be side characters!

ARC Review
Title: Vengeful Heart

Vengeful Hearts is my first read by this author but I really enjoyed it. I loved the care and concern that Blaise had for Erika almost instantly, and I loved that he came around to the idea of working as a team and seeing how competent and valuable she was.
It was a slow burn romance with some good moderately spicy scenes. Blaise awakens a praise kink Erika didn’t know she had and there’s some *punishment* as well.
I absolutely was NOT expecting Carla to be Natalia, but what a great surprise that was. I loved being able to see Erika reason with herself about this and ultimately see that Blaise offered Natalia something that she and Olivia simply couldn’t.
There were a few grammar/word choice errors that tripped me up a bit and I hated that it pulled my focus away from the story. Mind as well instead of might as well, bald-face lie instead of bold-face lie, and do your worse instead of do your worst are the ones that stand out even after finishing the book. However at the end of the book in the About the Author section I see that S. Lexi is a Canadian author so perhaps those phrases are correct for her and unfamiliar to me as an American reader.
Overall it was a great read and I would definitely love to see Carla and Olivia get their own stories too.

Good plot. Spice. Some Twists to keep you on the edge. YES PLEASE.
Erika is out for revenge after the brutal attack and murder of her sister by the Mafia. She has made it her sole goal to take down Petrov and his supporters.
Blaise wants to destroy and take all the at Petrov has for vengeful reasons of his own.
First I’m loving reading about stubborn strong FMC and the MMC that even being possessive and alpha holes it doesn’t take away from their capabilities. The main characters chemistry was *chefs kiss* but so were the supporting characters. I like the banter and sass that is shared between them. Erika keeps him in line and Blaise is her alpha protector (not that she needs one). I couldn’t get enough of them together!
I look forward to HOPEFULLY getting to read more on some of our supporting roles.

Me ha sorprendido para bien este libro donde he encontrado todo lo que espero en un buen romance mafioso.
Erika es una protagonista muy fuerte y capaz de defenderse y enfrentarse a cualquier mafioso. Lleva dos años buscando vengar la muerte de su hermana pequeña y acabar con los responsables. Su camino se cruza con el de Blaise que es un peligroso mafioso que también persigue a la misma gente por otros motivos.
Blaise termina reteniendo a Erika en su casa y la química entre ellos se hace evidente desde el principio. Su historia tiene buenos momentos divertidos y apasionados.
Blaise trabaja con tres amigos que son unos personajes muy interesantes con una buena dinámica entre ellos. También aparecen otros personajes secundarios que tienen papeles importantes porque en este libro hay tanta acción, que participan todos en ella.
Por supuesto, no falta la traición, la intriga, los giros y las sorpresas.

Well hot damn!
This was a book that I expected to enjoy. It was right my ally with the mafia, enemies to lovers, spice, and drama.
I was not expecting to love this freaking book so much! I am honestly sad that I finished it. Erika and Blaise were both written so damn well and with so much alpha energy from both of them. Not to mention Blaise’s friends and Erika’s sister were such an important part of the story!
I have not read a book in a long time where I felt that the main characters were so much better written and portrayed because of the secondary characters.
I hope there are more books to this series either with more Erika and Blaise or with more of Dev, Jared, Cruz, Olivia, Carla, and Tyson.
If enemies to lovers and mafia spice are your cup of tea you def need to check out this book!

From the beginning I was hooked, and by the end I was wanting more. The writing was amazing, and the storyline was badass, spicy and had me in tears of laughter. (Please check the TW before going head first into this).
This is a dark mafia romance and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The FMC Erika is after revenge as her little sister was taken by a human trafficking ring and later killed. Her character is so badass, strong and definitely my favourite in the book. Blaise had recently taken his place at the top of the food change after he too lost family, and is looking for revenge.
Erika and Blaise cross paths, and I am there for it! The chemistry between these two is spicy and tense. I absolutely loved the character development of these two, and how they are so very similar.

Erika wants to avenge her sister who was kidnapped, raped and killed. She risks everything to find out the truth, even to be kidnapped by the same men.
Blaise is the son of a don who doesn't want to continue the family business, but is forced to return home after his mother and sister are brutally murdered.
When an incident brings them together and Erika sees Blaise kill a man, they are forced to spend time together and discover that they have a common enemy, but also an irresistible attraction.
This is a dark mafia book. It is well written and has a great story. Definitely worth reading.

This is a dark mafia book. It is well written and has a great story. Definitely worth reading.

This book has it all for readers who love dark, dark mafia romances. I was hooked from the very first chapter. S. Lexi brings Erika and Blaise's world to life.

This was the first book I’ve read by S. Lexi and I really enjoyed it! It follows a super badass FMC, Erika, whose sister was kidnapped and killed by a huge drug lord. So of course, she’s searching for revenge. During this time, she meets Blaise. He’s also a part of this crime world and she hates him so much right from the start.
The connection between Erika and Blaise is undeniable. Blaise definitely embodies the whole “touch her and you ☠️” vibes and I loved every second of it. The spicy scenes were some of my favorite because it was so cute seeing Erika learn to love Blaise’s dominant self.
If you love a good mafia romance, I recommend it! As for dark, I would say it’s a stepping stone into the dark romance world. I really hope that the other men in this book get their own stories because I would LOVE that!

This is the first book I've read from this author and it won't be the last!
Definitely read the trigger warning beforehand so you're not taken by surprise. The plot was great. I loved the banter between the MMC and FMC. The build up was great as well. She really put thought into the development of the characters/plot which made it an exciting and fun read. The FMC wasn't a stuck up, annoying brat or a quiet, door mat but she was well balanced. I loved her strong character but also the soft side she showed when needed. He was a brute, domineering but very thoughtful too. There are some gruesome parts but none of it bothered me. If you like spicy, this book delivers! If you like dark, gruesome and blood, then this is it! I definitely recommend this book and I can't wait for the next one!

This is my first time reading a book by this author & I have to say I can't wait to read more of their work.
I loved the characters in this book. Erika was a strong FMC who kicked everyone's butt!!!
She had no trouble putting Blaise in his place when required (which was most of the time).
I loved Blaise as the MMC, he had strong alpha male vibes & was overly possessive of Erika. Which made all their interactions interesting & quite amusing at times.
The storyline was one that I truly enjoyed & I wasn't expecting to as much as I did. I will day that I picked the twist that came at the end & I'm not even disappointed about it.
I can't wait for the future books written within this world to be released as I happily look forward to revisiting these characters!!!

If you are looking for a page-turner or a "quick read". This is the one! I was having the hardest time putting this book down when I knew I had to work the next morning. Finished it in the middle of the night leaving myself less than 3 hours to sleep before having to get up and get ready for work. It was THAT good. So addicting, definitely the weekend binge read I was needing. Ugh Blaise, that's all I can say! This is one of those that will live rent-free in my head for a very long time. Also my first Mafia Romance!! Now I am hooked!

I really enjoyed this book, it was the first book that I have read by this author.
This was a well crafted version of a mafia romance, with a great revenge plot. It had mafia men who were well coordinated former military men, and a sassy badass FMC. Erika was such an amazing character, I really loved her personality. Blaise, Dex, Jared and Cruz were also amazing. Blaise and Erika together truly made a power couple.
I loved how everyone worked together at the end of the story and overcame all of the obstacles in their way.
Spice was a 3/5, some really great scenes 🤩

This was my first book by this author but won’t be my last. I enjoyed the writing style throughout the book. I could not put it down and had the husband not made me stop reading it would have been finished in one day.
I loved how it was mafia/organised crime but was also slightly different to the normal ones we see. The MC shunned his mafia family in favour of being a military man but circumstances made him deviate slightly. The FMC is set on revenge due to a past trauma regarding her family.
I really liked the banter for both characters but what I loved most was how the FMC was strong and could take on the enemies. Most dark romance books I’ve read tend to see the MMC protect the FMC and while that is great it was a refreshing change to see him step back and let her kick ass and take her own revenge without him having to save her.
I really cannot wait to see what the next book will bring, I am secretly hoping for all the side characters to get their own stories as I really do think this universe would be amazing.

Wow. This was an excellent read, the right amount of smut with an actual plot 🤣 Absolutely loved the main characters & the supporting characters,they really added something more to the plot.
Only reason I would not give this 5 stars: the plot is very predictable if you've read a lot of mafia style books. However, it was very engaging 👍🏼

I wasn't sure what to expect in a Mafia style book, and this was the first of its kind to read. If not obvious by the title, the two main characters, Blaise and Erika, are both seeking revenge against a rival Mafia boss for two different but similar reasons. They both become entangled in their pursuit of revenge. I see them both as antiheroes of the underground world and enjoy the dynamic of their growing relationship.

This was a really good book!! I got into it realllly fast, hooked me right in the beginning! I love when a books starts right into the action and this was it! If was also my first Mafia romance, and I think I found a gendra that I love. The characters were funny, especially Cruz! I will say that for a Mafia leader, the main MMC was kinda soft, I was expecting a little more rage (?!) not even sure how a Mafia guy is supposed to act lmao. Overall really fun read, and no boring parts!

This book was by far one of my favorite books! I was in a bit of a book slump and it pulled me out of it and has set the bar high for books to come! I can honestly say I have never wanted to buy a book after reading it on KU, because duhh why would I since I can just re-read it on the app and it costs me no extra, but I will be buying this book so I have a hard copy! Please check trigger warnings as there are some triggers in this book for some, for example human trafficking. It does not go into gory details like some books do though, so it may be ok if the details are what triggers you. Also there are mentions of rape, but once again, does not go into gory details!

If you love mafia romance books with feisty females, tough men that melt for their women with an amazing storyline/plot? Then this book is definitely for you!
Erika and Blaise have such a fun and feisty relationship that you just can’t get enough of. Watching the character development throughout the short time is absolutely amazing. The banter between is so much fun , I can’t tell you how many times I laughed at something one of them would say. The supporting characters are also great and loved every single one of them!
I had so much fun with this book and would recommend to anyone that would want to try getting into mafia romance.

I received Vengeful Hearts and I loved it! This book seemed to have it all; romance, strong female lead, danger, violence, family bonds, alpha male, a little Dom/Sub action, heat, girl power, etc. I can’t tell you if I loved Erika more with all her smart mouth, bad-ass defense skills, emotional strength, determination, and resourcefulness. Or if I loved Blaise more with his protective, domineering behavior, calm/collected personna, willingness to grow and adapt, and his alpha male hotness! Who am I kidding? I loved them both and they worked great together. I love that he fell first! 😍
