Her troll mechanic is determined to get her engine revving!
Alison is looking forward to finally settling down in Fairhaven Falls. Surely a town full of monsters will make it easier to guard her vulnerable heart. When she runs into a truck driven by a massive troll with a charming smile, she realizes it might not be so easy after all. Despite her attempts to avoid him, he keeps coming to her rescue.
Will isn’t happy about returning to his small hometown to take over the family business. The sooner he can escape a job he doesn’t want in a place he doesn’t want to be, the better. The curvy little female who collides with him can’t be more than a distraction - so why does his inner troll want to carry her off to his den and keep her forever? He doesn’t even have a den!
Can a male who doesn’t want to stay and a woman who doesn’t want to leave find happiness together?
Each book in the Fairhaven Falls series can be read as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy story is intended for mature readers.
Came for the horrifying cover, stayed for the cringey smut
This was very fluffy, insta-love, and cringey sex. I thought I would like the concept of a small town filled with others and monsters and have a really light Halloween read, but this was really just an excuse to have a guy with a big dick in a wish fulfilment fantasy. The monster stuff was undeveloped and the world building nonexistent. This wasn’t very good, I need to stop reading these. He called her sugar 95 times, this book is less than 130 pages long, that is entirely too many times. Also, he called her good girl 20 times and every time he did, I threw up a bit in my mouth. The cheese levels in this are extremely high 🧀.
For those of you wondering how she did the troll peen There, now you don’t have to read this. 2.5 stars because it was readable, and the one with the breast-feeding orc got two stars so I have to benchmark this somehow.
Light, sweet, and adorable romance between a troll H and a human h. Insta-lust, but they take it slow in their relationship. There's a touch of angst because the h is new to town and the H has a bad reputation (thanks to an angry ex) and then a bit more angst because the H had initially only returned to his hometown for a short time, while the h has planned on starting over there. But they sort themselves out. Multiple cute scenes and a few steamy ones (including extra features). The H is protective and possessive and the h is a bit shy and very sweet. Small town atmosphere with nosy, good-hearted side characters. The epilogue is a short time jump ahead with them in love and planning their official mating. Written in third person, dual POV. Tiny ow drama with the ex saying mean things early on but only in one scene and no om drama. Neither were virgins (h was coming off a bad relationship and H has a womanizer reputation that's been exaggerated, he also hasn't dated anyone since he returned to the town).
I wanted to like this more than I did, but I think I'm just burned off these kinds of novellas unfortunately. Obviously it's a me thing and I think this would be a nice palette cleanser or quick read in between longer ones for friends who like fluffy, monstery reads.
3.5 stars - I am really enjoying this series for the short & fun paranormal stories with unusual monsters as the heroes. That said, I did struggle picturing the dude in this one because I just kept thinking of the troll dolls from my youth
I liked the hero and the steamy scenes were hot. My main issue was the drama with his mother. His father had a stroke so he came to town temporarily to help out the mechanic's shop his parents own. His mom is constantly telling him to work late and yelling at him.
Honestly the mom drama ruined a lot of my enjoyment of the book.
The hero took the heroine on a picnic, he liked to talk dirty to her, the hero was great.
There's magic in the air! Flora has hired Alli to move to Fairhaven and manage her new hotel. Will is home to help at his dad's garage while his dad's in the hospital. She wants to stay, he wants to go, they should have nothing in common, but these two beautiful characters are irresistible to eachother and adorable to read about. It's a fast reading love story, definitely a wonderful addition to the series, with hard working characters that find what they're looking for before they even realize they were looking!
It was just so fucking cringey. “Good girl” and “good boy” is what they called each other. Like as nicknames. In front of other people. And the characters had huge changes in personality and opinion and character from chapter to chapter. I had second hand embarrassment the whole damn book
That being said it’s “cute” small town monster romance.
Knitting (flare behind the head of his cock swells and locks them). Monster. Different peen. No cheating. Not breakup (for like 1 sentence I guess). No pregnancy.

Alison is driving into Fairhaven Falls when she literally runs into Will’s car (her breaks let go). She gets injured, so Will picks her up and takes her to the local doctor. They have an instant attraction.
I didn’t like how the author kept having the hero repeatedly call the heroine “sugar”, it was annoying. He could have called her different nicknames besides the same one constantly.
Also i couldn’t stand Will’s mom, she was a pain in the ass.
Overall this story kind of bored me, this was one of those cozy small town romances with monsters added in.
A small town full of monsters and the lady who is ready to find her place in it. The upside? The monsters living there are pretty awesome. The downside? The one monster she's REALLY into is only planning on staying in town for the short term.
To be fair, Will definitely has his reasons for not wanting to stick around. A not-so-nice ex is one of them. An overbearing mother is the other. That said, Alison gives him a reason to reconsider his stance on doing his duty and then hitting the road. And if he actually talked about his feelings with her, things might have been a little less bumpy.
Troll dudes gotta troll, though. Amirite? Locking things down and playing it close to the vest are a thing for dudes no matter their species.
As for Alison, a few weather-related mishaps, a whole lot of attraction toward the local mechanic, a boss with a plan, and a new town where she can figure herself out puts plenty on her plate. It doesn't take long before Alison and her dude are locking lips (among other things) and making the best of muddy situations. *thumbs up*
Series: Fairhaven Falls #2 Rating: 2 stars - It was ok
Alison is trying to start a new life in Fairhaven Falls and her first day in town she finds herself in a car accident with a sexy and charming Troll. While she attempts to avoid him, he just keeps coming to her rescue as the week goes on.
This was fine. Alison and Will have another instant love/fated mates relationship that is filled with a lot of sexual tension, heavy petting, and sexy times, but sadly not much else. Both characters don’t have much personality outside of thinking about each other, which can be fine for such a short read but I would have liked to see more personality.
My other big complaint with this book is that Will call’s Alison ‘sugar’, which would be fine if you didn’t read the first Fairhaven Fall’s book but if you did, you would know that is what Grondar called his human too. So this felt almost like I was reading the same character, but with less personality and grumpiness.
Overall, this was just fine. I will give the next book a try because it seems interesting from the blurb.
Much to my surprise, this was actually a very sweet story! I'm not really into trolls--heck, Will on the front cover looks like one of those troll dolls that I remember from my childhood--but because I know Honey Phillips writes sweet stuff and I did like Fairhaven Falls from the first book, I wanted to give it a try.
Suffice to say, I was not disappointed.
The romance between Will and Alison is quick and somewhat based in instant-attraction, but what I liked is how they come to an understanding about what's going on between them. Alison's already been betrayed by assholes in the past, so she's not quick to trust, despite being quite attracted to Will. As for Will himself, since he's unsure whether he wants to even remain in Fairhaven Falls or not, he's not sure just how much he can promise Alison, and wants to respect her boundaries. It's just a really healthy place to start with that these two work things out past these, so I couldn't help but support them--despite 1-2 "could've just talked to each other" miscommunication hiccups. Ah well, at least this book is short, so these were quick to get through.
Heh. Although this story was not quite as cute as the first one, it was just as fun! I liked Will - he was my favorite character in this tale. I was not prepared for the subtle Sub/Dom vibe going on, but I recovered.
My only quibble (and it is a tiny one) is that just like Grondar in Cupcakes for My Orc Enemy, Will kept calling Alison "sugar," which is adorable coming from the baker. Meanwhile, Will, the mechanic, should have had a new, unique term of endearment for his mate.
Tropes: Small Town Romance Monster Romance Troll hero "GOOD GIRL" cozy monster romance Forced Proximity
Goodreads: 🌟 🌟 🌟
Spice: 🌶 🌶
Review: I liked the romance and the story, but the ending seemed a little rushed, and Will became jerky rather than possessive. I am excited about book 2.
Content Warnings: Death of parents Sick parent Money problems
This was a quick and easy read that has the reader cheering these two on all the while watching them dance around their true feels for each other. Alison is a human that’s finally looking forward to settling down in Fairhaven Falls which is filled with monsters that she believes will be a safe place but she isn’t looking for love at all but fate has other plans. Will is a troll and a mechanic thats coming back home to run the family business after his father took ill but he hopes it won’t be too long and he’s gone but then a female hit his truck and boy is she something else and straight away I want to take her back to my Den as my mate but why am i feeling this way when i haven’t before even with my Ex but Alison is different and this has him not wanting to rush off. When the three meddling old woman in town take an interest in Will and Alison things start to change and dates become hotter and steamier as you cheer their relationship on to a HEA.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I can see how people might like this as a quick, monster-ish romance.
Sadly it didn’t do it for me. I didn’t feel their connection that much and even when they’re “taking it slow” aka for a week 👀, we just get a summary of their dates and I would’ve liked to see them in those moments getting to know each other more.
I also hate ex drama. It’s brief here, but we get the catty ex who warns Alison that Will’s a manho.
He says he dated Vivian very briefly, someone else says a while - either way, Alison is spooked by this. What bothers me is that when he’s reassuring her it’s mostly rumor he says there’s an element of truth to the gossip - “I like females. I like the way they look, the way they taste, the way they smell…”
And even though Alison was wary of his reputation she’s fine and kissing him one second after this?? That was an ick for me tbh. Alison had relationships too, though, so at least it’s not unbalanced. Although of course, all her exes suck.
I also kind of wish it was Will who eventually stood up to his mother!
The rest was a super low angst, conflicts resolved in like 2 pages type of read, so if you’re wanting that, this could be your jam!

I wanted to give it one star but bumped it up because while it wasn’t a good book, it wasn’t bad either. Alison and Will were very one dimensional. Their bonding scenes were few and far between. “Sugar” was used over 90 times and stopped being cute after 20. This book could’ve been longer and had so much potential . I wanted to see Will stand up to his mother or a confrontation with his ex or more scenes and dates with Alison. The “week” they were taking things slow was told, not shown. This book left a lot to be desired.

Character i did not like: ⦁ Vivian [Vampire, Will's ex from years ago]
Kind of a 2.5, like right in the middle, but I enjoyed this book, so we're rounding up to 3. I enjoyed it. Everything moves really fast. This is definitely an insta-love novel, with what I consider to be a very low level of drama. (In fact, I find it a little bit confusing. See the spoiler below if you want that explained and are willing to read a small rant.)
Anyway, there was some good spice, it was adorable, and I enjoyed my time with this short book. I think I'll go back and read the first one now that I've given this one a try.
Alison is new in town and on her way to a job interview when she gets into a car accident... with a handsome troll. Will is a mechanic, and while he might have left Fablehaven already, he's back helping his mom run the shop while his dad is in the hospital recovering from a stroke. He has no desire to stay in town and deal with his mom, but when he gets into an accident and meets Alison, suddenly he's questioning himself. Alison just got to town and absolutely loves it here, though she's having a pretty tough time at the moment, but as Will keeps showing up to help her out every time she finds herself in trouble, the two of them begin seeing each other. Pretty soon Will realizes that he might have a reason to stay after all, but can Alison live with herself if Will decides to stay knowing that he'll be unhappy?
This is actually really cute. I love the whole Alison working at a haunted bed and breakfast thing, and I really like the fact that she not only puts his feelings first (with the exception of that one time she listens to somebody else without speaking to him at the very beginning of them talking, but she is quick to apologize and take his word for things despite her last ex being a complete jerk), and I love to see the trust that she puts in him. Will was so sweet and is quick to back off to make her feel comfortable, but I love the fact that once he has her on his mind he might be determined to have her to himself but he never once gets pushy or makes her uncomfortable and goes out of his way to make her feel comfortable. I love the dynamic between these two. I also love how spicy this was for something so short, and I was all for it. And while I do feel like some of the family drama was left unresolved at the end, I kind of like the fact that it was not wrapped up with a neat little bow, because family drama can be messy and I like that it felt real. So far I'm really liking this series and I'm excited to read the next one.
Book 2 of this series of standalones was just as fun as book 1! I loved seeing more of Flora and her friends' involvement in these matches and helping out these couples. I thought Alison was a great character and I enjoyed her POVs and interaction with the other characters. She immersed herself so well with the community, it made her mating so easy once Will got on board haha. It was nice to see the difference between trolls and orcs based on mates. I do wish the author went further with some things/gave us more intel but I thought it was good enough for the storyline, once he got his future home secured for his mate. I loved his protective instincts, even before he realized what was happening between them haha.
I was so frustrated with his mom, like wanted to shake her and push her out the door haha. I am glad things worked out and her time in the series was pretty much over. I liked his sister and her antics with the humans and their tolerance for alcohol hahaha (more to come in future book reviews haha). I wanted to hug his dad, as someone whose parent has survived strokes, I connected with them immediately. I loved more of the side characters and cameos from book 1, the author did a good job weaving this world and these interconnected standalone romances. The steam was yummy in this one too, just enough mix of story and plot for me! I liked their banter and again Will was a cinnamon roll (and had his grumpy moments haha).
Narrators did a good job yet again with these characters and this world. I felt Allison's trepidation but her connection with Will. I felt Will's denial and reluctance to finding his mate, since he didn't want to stick around this town for the rest of his life (whoops there goes that haha). I thought the connection between them was more relatable/realistic than book 1, which is why I enjoyed this one more than book 1. Gobbled up this series in a week, I couldn't stop listening and getting all the laughs and smirks <3
Will is a total softie, despite his outward appearance. He loves his family and has a very tough time saying no to his mama. Which has put in him in painful spot. He didn't want to come back to his hometown but feels he cannot do otherwise and his mother is pressurising him to do everything due to his father's illness. He is not resentful yet but it will happen and soon. Alison is heading for a fresh start, what she is also heading for is the truck right in front of her as the brakes on her beloved Betty have failed. She has had the misfortune to fall for the wrong guy so she knows she cannot rely on her own feelings. Especially not when they are pointing to the very charming mechanic. These two are so sweet together. WIll has a heart of gold but it has been hidden thanks to the rumours spread by a bitter ex. Alison is kind but doesn't trust her own judgement. The writing is so clever and seductive that it just draws you into the town and you feel like you could be a part of it. I need to know what happens to the future couples hinted at too!
It could use some editing. There was one small section în which it seemed part of the story was missing. It was a small part but I kept going back and forth in it because it was just weird.
The writing style was okay, not great. It didn’t always flow smoothly. The storyline could be a lot better. SPOILER: Their first “date” when they were just having lunch on the back deck at a diner, he ended up feeling her up, outside in the public area. Really?!?! I don’t think the chemistry between the ML and the female lead was written that well. END SPOILER
Overall it was sort of okay and I just paged quickly through it just to finish it.
I’m not interested in the next one or ever rereading this one. I can’t return it fast enough.
If books about a paranormal town is something you are interested in, the Nocturne Falls 15 book series (with a nocturne universe spinoff) offers more polish and depth.
At first I thought, "Troll??" Not sure about this one, BUT this book was sooo cute! Will, our troll, actually has a great dominant (and caring) personality. This book started differently than many of Honey's books, so it was a fun surprise. Will is so awesome with our curvy heroine, Alison, and his family which figures prominently in this story. Reasons you should read this book:
**This book surprised me! Sweet, steamy, fun story! **Will is commanding/dominant. I loved that! **Loved miss independent, sunshine Alison! (Will would be the grumpy.) **Spice was just right! Good build-up! (Size diff) **Loving Fairhaven Falls and can’t wait for more stories!
With the start of fall soon, this book is a GREAT read! And there are more books in the Fairhaven Falls series coming. :) This was a fun beta read! 4 stars! 3 spicy emojis!
'“Bridge Mechanics? The garage is really called Bridge Mechanics?” He sighed. “My father thought it was funny. It gets worse.” “What do you mean?” “My apartment is in the walkout basement at the back of the building.” Her eyes widened as she picked up on his meaning. “You mean you actually live under the Bridge?” She laughed so hard she lost her balance'
Honey Phillips' writing style and characters never fail to draw me in! I've only read one other troll romance by another author, so trolls are pretty new to me. This was such a fun read. Human Alison and troll Will were really cute together. But he only came to town to help his family while his father was in the hospital and had no intention of staying- especially considering his mother. Alison wanted to settle down there. Can they find a way to make things work? 4 stars.
Who knew troops could be sexy? (Horrifying cover art aside lol) I LOVE the Fair Haven Falls world, and this book was no exception. Will is a burly troll mechanic who comes back to town to help his mom with the family garage after his dad has a stroke. Alison is a city girl trying out life in a small town after her ex ran off with all her money and got her fired. They meet when her brakes fail and she hits Will's truck. He proceeds to take care of her and sparks fly from there. This was such a sweet, spicy book, Will is open and communicative and Alison is sweet and a little naive.
CONS: THE WORD SUGAR! WHY DOES HE CALL HER SUGAR EVERY DANG TIME (ughhhh Grondar and Elara's book had the same problem). It's really overused in these books and it grinds my gears. Also, there's a part where she gives him head at a really dangerous time and I was not here for it.
Do you ever just read a book that makes you smile laugh and from the entire time? Well this is your lucky day because that is exactly what you'll do when you delve into Will our very gorgeous troll and Allison the smart pretty hotel manager who has just moved to Fairhaven Falls. Both have relationships in their past that caused them trouble, but I believe they've ready to put the past behind them and find the love they were eat d to share. New friends are made ,our couple gets bit of help from an older orc, a Dryad and several others that just want to see them in love and happy! This is a must read just to make you happy and feel good as you read it. Highly recommend 🔥🌟💖💖🌟🔥🌟💖🌟🔥🌟💖🌟🔥🌟💖🌟🔥🌟💖🌟🔥🌟💖🌟🔥
Looking for a new start, Alison comes to Fairhaven Falls where she meets the troll mechanic Will. Will isn’t really planning to stay in the town where his mother is always pushing him to do as she wants, but with his father in the hospital, he is there to help. When he meets a pretty, little human, he finds that there might actually be things about the town he likes…
Flora is at it again, matchmaking this time for a troll. This is a cosy romance, with a little steam to it. It’s a quick read, set in a cosy monster town, with a bunch of interesting and likeable characters.
If you’re a monster hero lover, or a fan of monster romance, then you’ll enjoy this sweet, monstrous tale.
I am pleasantly surprised by this series. I LOVE the town. The romances are sweet, spicy and limited angst. Sorta a cozy spicy romance feel.
Alison is tired of the city life and as her last boyfriend cleared her out monetarily as lay in a hospital recovering from a difficult surgery, she decided enough was enough. After arriving in town to an interview at a not yet open B&B, her breaks give out and her car drives right into a big black truck.
Will is in town to help at the family garage as his father recovers from a stroke. He came back to a town he left due to a reputation he may not have earned. Minding his business he is t-boned by a pretty, curvy human who he just can't seem to stay away from.
Will and Alison are one of my favorite couple's. I love his bossiness and her sweetness. This really is insta-love at it's best. Fairhaven Falls is a town I would love to live in. The residents are so much fun tho my favorite is Fiona! She is AWESOME! Honey Phillips writes with humor, sexy times and just enough angst to keep me glued to the story. Whether it is alien's or monsters her characters are strong but flawed (perfection is boring). Her females have a softness to them but with a core of steel. I can recommend this book without hesitation. I loved it!.

Trouble for my Troll does become a cozy little monster romance for Alison who has arrived in Fairhaven Falls to settle into a new life until a fender bender brings Troll Will into her life and heart. Will doesn’t want to be in Fairhaven or taking over his families business until fate steps in and provides just the distraction in Alison he needs. Loved the writing, humor, and spice… very hot spice that flowed through the pages of a remarkably sweet and low on the angst read. This story hit all the right spots along with all its quirky and lovable side characters.
