Who knew my rescuer would be a hunky blacksmith straight out of the books I write?
When I get lost in the wilderness, I'm sure it's going to be one embarrassing rescue. Until I lose consciousness and open my eyes to an older, muscle-bound blacksmith in the same bed I'm in.
But Dylan's not just biceps, fierce dark eyes, and a delicious mountain-man beard. He's a sweetheart, taking care of me, cooking, calling for help. His past is a secret, though - a secret he guards as fiercely as his solitude.
And when night falls, we face a classic romance novel one bed, two people. He offers to take the floor, but the thought of his warm body close to mine, sharing a bed, is unexpectedly tempting. Innocent city girl meets seasoned wilderness man - and we both know it. He's experienced, good with his hands, and leaves me breathless for more.
Yet, I have doubts. Is this anything but an almost 24-hour dream? Or is he willing to fight for more? To leave everything behind for a shot at our happiness together?
Rescued by the Mountain Man is a short, sweet, and steamy small town instalove romance with a happy-ever-after. It can be read as a standalone or together with the rest of the books in the Curvy Wives of Silvervale Mountain.
This was way too wordy, like the author wanted an award for her work. Which that is great, she is an amazing writer but this is a quick insta love story at 72 pages it had way too many unnecessary words. If this was a full fledge novel it would have been fine. I read these for the quickness and the steamy scenes. The one steamy scene was just awkward with her thinking about her book and writing while he was going down on her. The sex scene was so mechanical it lacked the passion. The only reason I give it two stars is I really liked both characters and it was very well written but too well written.
“The haunting quiet sends a chill down my spine. The firefighter I once was takes the helm the instincts I thought I suppressed surging forth with undeniable force.”
“My mind is a tempest, churning and writhing like a stormy sea waters. This woman, Emily, is an enigma. She’s unpredictable force is unpredictable force breaking through all my barriers, dismantling the fortification I’ve meticulously built over the years.”
Lastly, the reason he became a recluse was just glossed over and didn’t really add up. He blamed himself for not going to save the family? But was fired for disobeying his captains direct order to get out of the building? He attempted to save them, I get being upset he wasn’t faster but the way he moved and shut everyone out was a bit dramatic. It would have made more sense if he didn’t try to get them, if he left when he was told to.

Rescued by the Mountain Man is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Emily is a young, curvy romance writer who has gone to the mountains looking for inspiration for her next book. Unfortunately, she ends up lost, dehydrated, and injured. Dylan is a hot, grumpy, growly, reclusive mountain man who saves her. She wakes up in his cabin to him, taking care of her. The connection between the two is instant, but Dylan has been hurt and is used to his solitude until Emily comes into his life. Now, can he let her go? Emily feels like she is in one of her very own romance novels. What happens when she has to leave? The chemistry is great, and they are just so sweet and steamy together. We also get a great HEA. Loved it!.

Could she feel the same for him? Can she live this life of solitude with him? Great short read. Expect alpha protector, swoon, virgin heroine, steam, and chemistry off the charts.

This was such a sweet story. Emily, a romance writer, is looking for inspiration for her next book and that adventure lands her in the woods lost and injured. She is rescued by Dylan, a reclusive mountain man who has moved to the woods to get away from people due to a difficult past. The minute Dylan meets Emily all he wants is her with him, forever. Emily is at first reluctant, she wants to go back to her life, but soon she realizes that a life without Dylan is no life at all.
Emily is a multilayered character. She is tough, but vulnerable and she has doubts about herself. Dylan is much the same. He used to be a firefighter and left under terrible circumstances. All he sees in Emily is a woman he loves and wants to have in his life forever. Eventually both realize that their lives are more perfect together than separate.
I love Zoey Rose's stories and this was no exception.
I really enjoyed this mountain man romance! This was a short, sweet, insta-love, mountain man romance. Emily is a writer who needed to find her next inspiration and decided to venture into the wilderness! Dylan, a grumpy mountain man burdened by his past, has isolated himself away from civilization. He loves the solitude of the mountains and being by himself- until he finds Emily passed out and injured. When he takes her back to his cabin and cares for her, he begins to feel emotions he’s blocked out for a long time. But he knows he only has one night with her, and that isn’t enough. I loved Dylan and he had me swooning when he told Emily he’d go as slow as she needed, and he’d make sure she was as comfortable as he could because it was her first time.
'I might be a gruff, secluded mountain man, but I am, above all else, a rescuer.'
I enjoyed this book. It was a sweet, quick romance. I really liked both Dylan and Emily. Dylan is a gruff mountain man blacksmith who lives alone in a cabin in the forest. Romance writer Emily is trying to find inspiration in nature when she gets lost and injures her ankle. Dylan hears her cries and rescues her, bringing her back to his cabin where they get to know each other while she waits until she can be picked up and returned to civilization. But after their day together, will she still want to go back, and will Dylan let her go or try to convince her to stay? A fun read. 4 stars.
Wow this was so awkward. A virgin romance writer working on her second book somehow finds herself lost in the middle of the woods wearing a short skirt with nothing but a backpack and an empty water bottle. She’s miraculously rescued by the hero ex-fireman turned blacksmith with PTSD that was fired from “the firefighters” because is disobeyed orders and tried to save a family from being burnt alive. For such a short story it’s so wordy and not well written. The dialogue is clunky and strained and there really isn’t any true chemistry between these characters. I’m supposed to believe there’s insta love between them? Definitely not.
Rescued by the Mountain Man is love-at-first-sight at its best! He falls first when he finds her hurt on his mountainside, and when she comes to in his bed…oh my. This gentle giant of a story is the perfect read for a cozy night with a cup of hot chocolate or a lazy beach afternoon. The characters are each beautifully written, the setting incredible, and the connection undeniable. If you like insta-love, then this is definitely for you!

I love all of these types of stories. I’m just a sucker for them. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one too. Emily trekked into the mountains to get some inspiration for her new book. Running out of water, too hot and then sprained her ankle. Screaming out her frustration somehow she was heard by Dylan the mountain man. After seeing a big man in the shadows of a tall tree she blacks out. Dylan finds her and carries her back to his cabin. And you can guess the rest… 🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊

Romance writer Emily (h) journeys to the mountains in hopes of finding inspiration and finds herself lost and injured. Reclusive mountain man Dylan (H) comes to the rescue and takes her back to his cabin. Things quickly heat up between Dylan and Emily, even as they both worry that their backgrounds and lifestyles may pose a threat to a future together. Hot and steamy mountain man instalove quickie with a little bit of relationship angst.
Perfect story to escape with. Getting lost, and injured in the great forest, only to be rescued by a big strong man who lives alone in the middle of the woods. Emily gets life changing experiences meeting Dylan. She changes his solitary existence with her sincerity, and loving heart.
Emily headed up the mountain for inspiration and found her HEA
Dylan the former fire fighter heard an anguished scream and rushed to Emily's aid. Mr. Big and gruff melted under the familiar feeling of helping someone in distress. They bonded over lonely tales and when she had a chance to leave the next morning he jumped at the chance for more.
My rating for this one is a 3.5. This is a well written short story with great characters. I would have like to have had more to their story. I think you will enjoy this one I know I did. I would encourage everyone to get this one especially if you just need a read for a couple of hours. Worth your time.
This story is amazing on all fronts…the storyline is incredible; the main characters have layers that are awesome to peel back; the plot is very good; and the HEA will totally change your perception of love at first site. You need to add this one to your TBR list today!
Emily and Dylan meet when he rescues her after she gets lost on the mountain. Emily is an author trying to get inspiration for her next book. Dylan is an ex-fireman who is now a blacksmith. They find instant love and the next day when the sheriff arrives to take her home she doesn't want to go. Entertaining reading.
This was a quick palette cleanser book. Insta love, grumpy x sunshine. The FMC is a romance writer who has gone out into the wilds to get some inspiration and the MMC finds her in her time of need, what romance novels are made of! I read this book as an ARC.
A short and sweet romance that packs backstory and spice into less than 100 pages. While the timeline feels a bit rushed and slightly unrealistic, the story remains charming and enjoyable overall.
There’s only a portion of the book that you get to read and then that’s it. Nothing except for your rating of the book. Well there’s nothing to rate because you don’t get to read all of the book. I don’t know what happened with this book but it’s not right. I like to read the entire book and you don’t get that opportunity with this one. Someone messed up. Don’t even waste your time with this book if you like to read an entire book.
Emily writes romance novels and has just had her first bestseller. To celebrate her success, and to find some inspiration for her next book she has taken some time away from the city and headed into the mountains. The only problem ~ she is woefully under prepared.
Dylan has hidden himself away in his mountain lodge for the last four years, burying and running from his past, not able to face people at all. He keeps himself busy with his work as a blacksmith and he is content. At least that is what he has been telling himself. Then he rescues Emily.
In the moment that Emily wakes up on Dylan's bed, seeing him ministering to her twisted ankle, something changes for both of them. She looks into his eyes and sees kindness as well as deep sadness. He looks into her eyes and sees kindness and beauty. She manages not only to coax the story of his past from him but helps him find a way to cope. Will she be able to tell him the full truth about her own past?
Will 24 hours be enough time for them to both make some life changing decisions?
I loved this book and I am thrilled it is only book 1. I can't wait to meet more of these Curvy Wives and their men in the Silverdale Mountains. It's a quick read, an absorbing read, incredibly touching and romantic and it left me with a big smile. I highly recommend it if you love your men tall and broody, your women romantic, strong but a little lost.
