loved the primal prey here! It was really twisted and dark but also unbelievable hot. And I really liked the writing style , and I might actually look into some more books from this author because this short story really got me interested.

My review for Mindbreaking the Omega by Teegan Wylde

This is a short HOT twisted omegaverse story which I easily read in half an hour! There are triggers so be warned.

Hailey is an independent omega who was at work when the alphas are let "loose", which seemed to be a game, they can grab any omega to do whatever they want (dangerous!). Her estranged stepbrother saves her from a precarious situation to then sell her to 2 other alphas. Dystopia alert!!

This started Non-Con, later to Dub-Con. The 3 alphas had 🔥 fun, afterwards it looked so did Hailey despite the sickening start 😅 (We see it all through her POV only). They mindbroke her into loving it 🤨🤫. The little revenge mystery about the parents was interesting to know about. The writing's good, it has an open end which could make a good dark future novella/novel (plus I'm salivating, as there's potential for MM 👀).

I found this anthology via this story so that's cool! The overall premise for the stories here is interesting.

This Anthology is absolutely packing it!

Who knew one night could be so dangerous and delicious? Every single story in this antho is diverse while maintaining the shared world and council ordinances.

I went in wondering just how dark it would get and it's a pleasant surprise with all shades.

My favorite story in the anthology of course was Vivian Murdoch's Canis because after reading the wolf I just needed to know more and the build up did not disappoint! Vivian writes perfect alphaholes as always and leaves no crumbs! ;)

I enjoyed the antho in its entirety and loved the inclusivity of the stories as well, if you're looking for a tense read that will push and break boundaries while consumed in darkness this is the perfect option for you.

For the book dragons this paperback is absolutely massive and pretty as well, don't miss out!

From this book, I only read Bartered by Madden Kole (the last story in the book, starts on page 971) and it was so good. It kind of gave me a hunger games/divergent type of vibe with a little bit of the purge type vibe when the cerebral monitors were turned off. I’ve been really into books involving mate bonds lately so I really enjoyed this one and would love Bartered in a full book with more about Shia’s life growing up with the Amity boys. Would also like to see the dynamic of Shylah, Cross and Church and not at all just because I want to read the smut involving the three of them…

A real mix of stories, all spicy 🔥 🥵 and and set my pulse racing, I'm more of a fan of the MM stories but I enjoyed the others too.

There's a few stories that end with HFN/cliffhanger that I want to know how they end. Especially loved The Contest and the fight scene. Can't wait to read more from this group.

I am reviewing multiple short stories from this book and am listing them in the same order that they were written in the book.
Please note that none of these stories are romantic. They are not stories with great romantic gestures or with people falling in love.
These stories are all based around the premise that Alpha’s get to be true Alpha’s, experience their true emotions and get to act out their urges for one night.

“Unleashed” by Tabitha Black
Archer is planning his one night with his Omega maid Dani.
Dani thinks she is going on a date but has a rude awakening.
This is a story where the male is in total control and the female has no choice is what happens. It is dark and sexy.
Be aware that thus story is not finished and more is yet to happen to Dani.

“Selling Seraphina” by Kitt Lynn
Drew plans what he wants to do for his one night of freedom and who is wants to do it with. Seraphina doesn’t have much of a life and is traded from one owner for another.
This is a steamy short showcasing what happens when an Alpha is let off his leash.
However I loved the twist. It was unexpected, fun and perfectly apt!

“Heartless Heir” by Jade Marshall
Apollo goes to an auction and buys Grace for the night.
This story is slightly softer than the other as this. Alpha has feelings. They are mainly possessive in nature but he wants his omega.
This is a dark but sensual story and it isn’t finished, there is more to come.

“The Rose” by K. B. Mitchell
This is a story twisted on it’s head where the one in power is the woman, The Rose. Sasha is owned by her and is used to cement a business deal.
Dark and twisted, where certain people hold power and new obsessions arise.
This story is far from over….

This review is for Heartless Heir by Jade Marshall.

This is a dark omegaverse read. No knight in shining armor is going to ride to rescue in this book. If that’s what you’re looking for, please move on. If you seek a darker, more depraved alpha - you have definitely come to the right book.

Our omega heroine finds herself in desperate measures. She needs money for her family. Like all innocent sacrificial lambs before her, she agrees to sell the one thing of value she has - her virginity.

Our alpha is dark, dangerous, and determined to enjoy the one night a year that his designation is taken off their leashes and truly allowed to be themselves. He doesn’t plan to hunt just any prey though. He is a man of means and at an exclusive auction sees the nervous but brave omega who refuses to cower under the eyes of all the leering alphas in the room. He decides nothing will stop him from having her.

Their encounter is not the stuff of a fairytale romance. It is rough and intense. Throughout the night a tentative bond is formed that leads to a dramatic and epic encounter.

If you enjoy dark, gritty romance then this is a great read. The alpha is unapologetic in his need to dominate and take his pleasure. The omega is not a shrinking violet. Great read.

While I'm not into Omegaverse novels, I've read Lawliss' other works and was immediately interested in the book. Her story was dark and delicious without being raunchy and uncouth. Her writing is what stands out the most. She's detailed but refined, and her imagery draws you into the story. As always, J.S. Lawliss doesn't disappoint!

This is a massive collection of short stories in the omegaverse based on a night of freedom for the powerful alphas whose primal instincts are usually suppressed.

I enjoyed the info about each author before and after each story. Very organized and friendly!

Hands down my favorite short was by J.S. Lawliss. Dark, sexy, very emotionally driven.

I thought that this was a very intriguing anthology. I felt the concept behind this collection of stories was fresh and that meant my attention was grabbed quickly and maintained easily. These tales are fast paced and brutally intense. The darkness is deep and be aware that these twisted reads have a razor-sharp edge that will not be every reader's cup of tea because boundaries are pushed hard, and triggers abound.

My review is for The Collector by Mae Pierce.

I loved the glimpse into this world and the characters Mae gives us. I got this book solely because Mae Pierce is an auto buy author for me. It just made me want to devour the rest of the stories in the book and beg her for more of Sails. Also, Fucking ow, that ended broke my heart.
10/10 would recommend this brutal omega verse story.

OMG! This is a hot omegaverse, or darkverse because none of these stories are off the sweet variety, that takes place Sector 5. It's a dystopian world where the Dynamics are greatly controlled, especially the Alphas. The world seems to be controlled by the Betas, and in the guise of keeping everyone safe they have implanted chips into the brains of all Alphas. The chips deliver a debilitating shock anytime an Alpha experiences any strong emotion. It has also stopped them from going full Alpha on the Omegas, and claiming them. Until the government decides to give the Alphas a few short hours of freedom and deactivates the chips. This is when all hell, or in some cases heaven, breaks loose. This book follows just some of those Alphas, and the Omegas who have captured their attention, and explores the different ways this experiment goes.

I haven't gotten through all of the stories, but I wanted to start reviewing the ones I have finished, and I'll update as I go. Some of the stories are darker than others. Some of them have happy for now endings and notices that there will be longer stories released in the future. From what I've seen so far, some of the stories are darker than others, some have a happy for now ending with a notice that the stories will be expanded and released in the future, at least one has a deliciously dark ending that I'm really hoping to see get expanded, and there's a nice blend of pairings.

Unleashed - Tabitha Black
This is a spicy read that follows Archer and Dani. He's a wealthy man who has given Dani a job when she was desparate, and it's time for her to show just how grateful she is. Only she's not fully aware of what that gratitude will look like, and Archer isn't prepared for his reaction when the chip is deactivated. It's fast-paced, well written, and has a to be continued question mark at the end. I'm hoping to see it expanded because it's fantastic.

Selling Seraphina - Kitt Lynn
I wasn't ready for this novella to end, and would love to return to these characters, but I have a feeling this is it. I'm not disappointed, in fact the ending was delicious, but I really wanted to dive more into that deliciousness. Does that make me twisted? Maybe, but I was giggling with delight. This is a fave, and I'll be checking out more of this authors work.

Mindbreaking the Omega - Teegan Wylde
This is a step-brother/why choose type story that is full of spice and heat. None of the characters turned out to be what I expected. Hailey is an independent woman who has, and continues to, worked hard to get where she's at. The deactivation of the chips catches her by surprise, and she's rescued by the step-brother she hasn't seen in years. Only this rescue isn't what she thinks it's going to be. This one could be expanded as well, and I wouldn't mind seeing how it all works out.

Canis - Vivian Murdoch
This is an introduction to a longer story that will be released shortly, and there are many delicious characters I could see getting books in the future. A means of earning some money, a twist fate, and a desire long denied will culminate in a steamy, messy night that will change the lives of two people, forever. I'm really glad it's been expanded because I can't get enough of these two.

I usually read anthologies for certain authors, well this time I went all in and read all the novella’s in this anthology. Holy moly this book was deliciously dark and tantalizing. I couldn’t put it down until the end. All the authors in this anthology are amazingly creative and let me wanting more out of each of their stories. If you are just dipping your toe into the Omega-verse romance trope please read each warning at the beginning of each book to see if it’s for you. These books have dark themes and topics that some might find triggering. This anthology is NOT for the faint of heart. The worlds created by these authors were beautifully written with vivid detail and characters that were complex and had an array of chemistry between each other.

I loved the characters the Alpha’s were these tough guys that no one could affect them. The Omega’s were a conundrum to be honest and I loved it. Where we thought they’d be these submissive Omega’s but they were surprising at every turn.

I originally went into read Vivian Murdoch’s Elite Alpha’s:Canis novella. It’s the prequel to her book The Wolf. I was not disappointed. I love the approach she has taken with the Omegaverse in this series. It’s not set in a post apocalyptic time. It’s a current time but with the Alpha /Omega verse dark romance and the Cherry on top of this one. It’s a step-brother twist!!!! My favorite!!!!

Wow, wow, wow!! I'm not normally into dark stories but I can read them up to a certain point. Some of these were a little too much for me while others were steamy, hot and just plain awesome!

The two that stand out for me are Unleashed by Tabitha Black. This story had me hooked from the first and I can't wait for more of Archer and Dani.

The next one is Theirs To Own by Lenore Danvers. Oh my goodness gravy. I've only read a couple of books where a father and son share a woman between them. Lily's father is a horrible man. He tries to tell Viktor that he can have his daughter but when he goes behind Viktor and Luka (Viktor's son) back, you know things are gonna get intense. Poor Lily has no clue about her father but when he tries to marry her off to another man, Viktor and Luka jump in and, basically, kidnap her for themselves. Will she go willingly or will she fight them along the way! God, this was so good and probably my favorite story out of the ones I've read!!

Y'all need to go get this book, especially if this is your jam!!! It's awesome. A lot of the stories a short and have more added in the future but this will give the reader a taste of what they are in for!

Deliciously dark and depraved

Brutal, dark, depraved, spicy, with a range of different stories. Some MF, MM, MMMM, there is something for everyone (providing you are OK with dark, twisted!).

The Tigger Warnings page for Selling Seraphina by Kitt Lynn perfectly describes all the stories: "This is not a love story. Do not read this you are looking for lovely emotions and fuzzy feelings".

These stories are all standalone from each other, but based on the same theme that the Alpha's who have been controlled and "tamed" via chips are released from that control for 14 hours and they take full advantage of this time with the Omegas. There is a lot of primal play through the stories.

Some of these were complete stories, while others were the introductory chapters to what will be seperate books.

This is an excellent introduction to new authors - I am definitely going to go track down more of their works.

This is a darkverse and deliciously spicy and steamy read that contains several stories that happen on one wicked night in Sector 5 where the Alphas who are normally controlled by a chip gets it shut off. They are free to chase,rut and knot Omegas in that sector.
The results in loads of steamy, hot and dark fun.
The trigger warnings in this Anthology are numerous so heed those warnings kiddos. Some stories end on a Cliffhanger or HFN ending some are part of another book and are just a Prequel.
My favorite had to be Canis by Vivian Murdoch and is a Prequel to the book Wolf.
It was so hard to pick that as a favorite. So many fabulous authors and several new to me that I will be looking up later.
If you love Dark reads and can deal with trigger warnings check this one out! It kept me squirming in my seat and needing a cold shower for sure!.

Fiery hot, Alpha/Omega anthology

Fitted with a chip by a futuristic government to control their animalistic tendencies, Alphas have been growing more and more agitated at being artificially tamed. Secretly agreeing to deactivate the chips for one, 16 hour period, the government will allow an “anything goes” policy during this time. No one else but the Alphas are aware of the agreement as they plan for their special night, reveling in their temporary, uncontrolled freedom. What follows is a no-holds barred, 16 hours of unsuspecting Omega hunting and unfettered lust.

This omegaverse was dark, but oh so steamy. I only read the MM stories in this anthology. The alphas in this dystopian universe had inhibitor chips normally, but for one day, the chips were disabled and hunted omegas to claim them when they hunted them down. Non-con and dub-con were common, but it seemed like the omegas were receptive to their own capture and claiming. My favorite was Bound Omega where alpha was very protective and caring with the omega.

Every story that I read was titillating and well worth the read. If you like stories of toned, hot alphas boldly pillaging and claiming sweet, melting omegas, then this book is for you. There are more MF stories than MM stories, but the MM ones I read were really good, which made the book worth the read.

Xavier and Persephone

The story I am reviewing from The Darkverse Romance Anthology is Sold to the Alphas by KD Michaels. This is a dark paranormal short story. Xavier has everything he needs and wants, except Persephone. It has come to his attention that her brother has nefarious plans for her, giving her to the worst form of criminal. Xavier has no tolerance for men who abuse women. He arranged for Persephone to be brought to his home. She is terrified, at first. Xavier and she meet, and she is overwhelmed by her feelings. She feels safe around him. Xavier puts his plan in motion to deal with the ones that hurt her, all while making sure she is forever his. I really enjoyed reading this story. I received this ARC and here is my honest review. Sorry, no spoilers.

Bound to the Chef, a story in the "Sold" anthology by Vivian Murdoch, is a short and sweet read. You'll be chewing your nails wondering who Rhylee is being married off to by the Governing Body over omegas; especially when she loves her Master, Jason, completely. Will she ever find the same belonging and security she found with Jason? Will her new alpha husband demand his rights over her body, even though she loves someone else? This is a suspenseful, well written story perfect for right before bed for tantalizing dreams!
