The sequel to Making it Personal...

Rick Wentworth has had enough of one night stands and quickies in clubs. It takes a night of uncharacteristic hedonism to make Rick admit what he really wants - someone to love him. But for that to happen, he needs to make some changes. Rick can do that. After all, what’s the alternative? And when he meets a guy who ticks all his boxes, he can’t believe his luck. His boss Blake Davis, and Blake’s fiancé Will Parkinson, however, aren’t convinced. They want to know more about Mr. Perfect, and their instincts are keener than Rick’s. Both men want to protect him. As it turns out, they needn’t have worried. Rick has a guardian angel…

When Angelo Tarallo sees Rick for the first time, it’s a match made in Heaven, as far as he’s concerned. And when he rescues Rick from danger, it gives him the opportunity to get to know the man who has captivated him. Before long, it’s plain to both men that this could lead somewhere. But when Angelo’s traditional Sicilian family finally discover what he’s been hiding from them for so long, an ultimatum spells heartache for the lovers – and worse.

This second story in the Personal series follows Trinity Publishing employee, Rick, as he muddles his way through the dating scene and eventually meets his match in the immensely sweet Angelo.

When the story kicks off, Rick seems to be looking for love in all the wrong places. He’s used to weekend hook-ups and very short lived relationships, when all he really wants is for someone to love him and call his own.

After a hot and heavy (totally gratuitous) threesome with adventurous couple Oli and Ben (whose point in this series I’ll never understand) leaves Rick feeling lonelier than ever, Rick comes to the realisation that enough is enough; maybe in order to change the expected outcome and finally achieve his desired romantic goals, Rick needs to alter his overall approach.

Reinvigorated and determined, Rick heads out one night with no expectations other than to dance the night away and go home alone. But before the night draws to a close, Rick meets the disarmingly charming Julian, who practically sweeps him off his feet with romantic gestures. Resolutely sticking to his new dating code, Rick insists on taking things slow and begins dating Julian. Sadly, it doesn’t take long for Rick to realise (with the help of his friends and co-workers, Will and Blake) that Julian is not who he appears to be, showing glimpses of a domineering and manipulative bastard underneath the suave exterior. Unfortunately for Rick, it takes a near miss and a knight in shining armor to separate himself from Julian’s growing control.

Enter, Angelo, Rick’s rescuer and long-distance admirer. Angelo has been somewhat smitten with Rick, from afar, for a while when he witnesses Julian go too far and is compelled to step in and help his dream man. Although the circumstances of their meeting are unfortunate, Rick and Angelo can’t deny their sizzling chemistry, and after a bit of time and distance from the fallout of the whole regrettable Julian situation, Angelo and Rick begin dating in earnest, going on a series of sweet and simple dates and getting to truly know each other before they get physical.

I was having a grand old time reading about Rick and Angelo’s budding romance, but just when they were about to get really serious and steamy, things went to hell in a hand-basket, taking a fair bit of joy away from my overall experience.

Much like during the first story within this series, the couple in question were suddenly and outrageously faced with an ultimatum/emotional blackmail scenario by a pesky side character. Now, I’m all for some drama to spice up a story and make the couples HEA a hard-fought victory, but my problem is that the drama in both books simply came across as too manufactured. Not only that, but the way in which the MCs handled the problems that arose was just rage inducing.

Even considering the issues I had during the last part of the story, I still found myself fully engaged, practically absorbing the words at lightning speed and finishing within a day. This tells me that—manufactured second-half drama aside—I still enjoyed my time reading this sequel and will likely be back for more.

I enjoyed this one a bit more than the last. It just seemed more put together. I liked Rick and Angelo together. They meet in unfortunate circumstances but the relationship that develops from that encounter was pretty sweet.

Rick is use to one night stands and has a pretty hot one with Oli and Ben. But nothing looks as appealing in the morning after and for Rick, this morning after has him realizing he needs to change and that he wants more than a one off. He wants someone to love him. A night out at the club, Heaven he thinks he might have stumbled upon a guy who could be the real deal. Julian seems to be the gentlemen Rick has been looking for. That is until his behavior starts sending up some red flags. Rick tries to dismiss some of the warnings but after a double date with his boss Blake and his partner Will, he thinks maybe he should take a closer look at those red flags. Still he decides to give the guy one more chance and goes out with him to Heaven. They are having a good time until Ben and Oli show up. Julian's behavior of meeting the two men really sends all kinds of flags up and Rick unfortunately gets to see the true monster Julian is behind his façade. This is where Angelo comes in to save the day.

Angelo is a sweet guy. Just the perfect hero. The relationship between Angelo and Rick was sweet. It was nice to see Rick with such a good guy after the experience he had with Julian. The guys had great chemistry and I enjoyed that they dated and were getting to know each other before taking it further.

Unfortunately Angelo's not out to his family. He comes from a very traditional Italian family where the law begins and ends with the Father. What he says goes and there is no arguing. So knowing that there is no way his father will accept his son as gay and therefore nor would any of his other family considering what father says goes, he keeps his family life and his true self separate. Until one night he's out with Rick holding hands walking down the street and comes face to face with one of his brothers. From there things take a turn for the worse.

It was pretty awful the way things turned out with Angelo's family. And I felt the heartbreak for Rick. The poor guy just couldn't catch a break.

In the end I was disappointed how quickly things were wrapped up in a bow. It just seemed too quick. So once again I found the ending a bit unsatisfying. But again, this was very entertaining.

" I WANT SOMEONE TO LOVE ME "

This is Ricks silent plea to himself after he hooks up and has a uncharacteristic threesome with two gorgeous strangers he meets at his favourite club.
( Set the air conditioning on icy cold for that scene!)

They have an unbelievable night where he indulges in things he's never experienced before but instead of basking in the afterglow of hot sex, he's left feeling sluttish, confused and depressed by the whole encounter.

A few days later at work he tells Will:

" ... I took a long hard look at myself, and I'll be honest, I didn't like what I saw "

In the first book 'Making It Personal,' which I loved with a passion, we found out that Rick had been in lust with his boss Blake for six years but like everyone else had thought Blake was straight until Will came along and the two of them fell in love. Now, seeing the deep love that Blake and Will share, Rick realises that what they have together is precisely what he's longing for. He wants someone special of his own, someone who desires him for more than just sex and one night stands, someone who will cherish him, so he makes a conscious decision to stay away from meaningless sexual encounters until he meets the man who will fulfil those wishes. His dream appears to come true when he meets a guy who appears to be perfect but as time passes doubts start to creep in and when things turn nasty one night, the result is his being rescued by the gorgeous Angelo who unbeknown to Rick has already fallen for his charms, having seen him at the club and who is also looking for something more than just a casual affair. Unfortunately fate decides to throw a spanner in the works, and suddenly their budding romance looks like it's about to crash and burn!

Will Angelo turn out to be the man of his dreams? Will Rick find the love of his life? Will there be sizzling love scenes, hot enough to melt the buttons off your flannelette pj's and short circuit your Kindle? Well I can answer "hell yes" to one of those questions straight away because I'm still watching the steam rising off my Paperwhite! The rest you'll have to find out for yourself!

I just adored Rick. He's such a loveable, vulnerable character and I desperately wanted him to get his HEA. In true romance style you know that the path to true love isn't going to be an easy ride for these two, and true to form they have to go through some, at times, exasperating conflict to get there but because they're such lovely guys I was rooting all the way. Admittedly I did have a couple of teeth grinding moments where I was itching to get hold of Angelo and bitch slap some sense into him, but I couldn't stay mad at him for long because he was such a lovely guy who was regrettably just a product of his upbringing... plus he was hot as hell and I'm shallow! **Grins**

All my favourite things are here... steamy, sexy romance, great chemistry, easy flow of writing, just enough angst to keep the emotional juices on alert, a chance to see more of Blake and Will ( love those men) and the one thing that never fails to make me feel the love for a great m/m romance... tangible sexual tension!

' They held hands in the elevator, not breaking the connection once. Rick was hyper-aware of the sound of Angelo's breathing, slow and measured. It was as if time had slowed down, making him sensitive to the electrical current which sparked and crackled as they drew closer. Its coming. I can feel it. And he feels it too. The anticipation was exquisite. '

Exquisite anticipation is a perfect description for how it feels when I'm waiting for a new release from one of my favourite authors and sometimes anticipation that high can fall flat but for me KC has delivered once again. No disappointment here! There's a big hint as to whose story will be next and if it's who I think it is then roll on book three!

I absolutely loved it it so excuse me while I just pop back in to drool over the hottest Skype scene I've ever come across ...naughty but utterly delish!

Admit it, You really want to read it now, don't you?

It's KC Wells, so what did I do....loved it. 4.5 stars and a huge... from me.

This book carries on from Making It Personal, and we all know Rick. He works for Blake Davis at Trinity Publishing, and has made a very good friend indeed in Will Parkinson (I still smile when I see that name), but now that Blake has 'come out' and got engaged to Will, it's time for Will to move on and write that book he needs to write, and he confides in Rick and tells him that in 8 weeks time he will be leaving. Will is also the only person who knows that Rick was 'in lust' with his boss, and yes damn it, Rick wants what Blake and Will have got, he's lonely and wants a special someone of his own instead of carrying on his slutty ways and having random hook-ups with virtual strangers.

He goes clubbing, and is so fed up he agrees to a threesome with a couple of guys he's just met, Oli and Ben. Phew is all I can say ...that was smokin'!! He realises the morning after that this is definitely not the lifestyle he wants and he slinks away unseen, I was going to say with his tail between his legs...but that seems rather obvious , hehe. Enter the 'new' Rick, who's not having anymore random hook-ups, no sirree....and Will and Blake are very proud of his new resolution. Of course, it doesn't last very long and he goes dancing at a different club 'Heaven'....he's been too cowardly to go back to G.A.Y. where he met Oli and Ben. ...and is secretly being watched by someone who would love to get to know him, that someone Angelo is very interested indeed in Rick, but is way too slow in making his move, and a gym bunny named Julian dives in. I think I'll leave this one here......

Does Rick discover who his secret admirer is?? Is Julian a complete prat (oh yes, and more besides!!)?? Did Will really have a Dr Who themed leaving party photo images46_zps4f3aab7d.jpg

all these questions and more will be answered in this story.

Many thanks KC for this ARC in exchange for a fair review.

I'm so glad I picked this one back up! I have the series collection on audio, and I guess it got lost on the shelf. Plus I've been going through a bit of K.C. Wells binge (can you blame me?).

While Personal Changes is the second book in the series, you can definitely enjoy it as a standalone. It's been awhile since I listened to Making it Personal, but I had no trouble jumping right back into the story. (The characters from the first book only play a small role in this one.)

The entire series is performed by the absolutely fantastic Cornell Collins. This amazing narrator has an incredible range of accents and voices, and an uncanny ability to match a voice with each character so well. He picks up on K.C. Wells' humor, and makes the most of the fast pace in Personal Changes.

4,5 stars.

Personal Changes is the sequel to K.C Wells’ Making it Personal. I loved everything about it: The great plot, the well developed characters, and the feelings and emotions.

Rick is used to casual one-night-stands that make him realize one day he needs a change. He is so sweet in his yearning for love and his desire to change his life. He wants someone special in is life, he wants to be cherished, he wants to be loved. He wants this special thing his best friend Will and his boss Blake have. To find the right partner and to settle down doesn’t come easily, though. Rick has to learn that on the hard way. Then Angelo bursts into Rick’s life. Like a white knight in shining armor, and nothing will be the way it was before.

Angelo is such a wonderful guy. He is sweet, caring and charismatic. But of course he has to carry his own burdens. Even though he is thirty years old, his family dynamics are completely different from Rick’s. All the crap that he has to go through with his family just made me so sad.

It was nice to meet Will and Blake again. Their relationship is settled and it was just lovely to see them so happy together. They’re definitely one of my favorite couples.

Overall, Personal Changes was a wonderful, entertaining read. Sweet, hot, romantic, heartbreaking, and just awesome. I loved and enjoyed it immensely and will definitely be re-reading this in the future. Highly recommended!

Knowing I didn't connect with the first book in this series should have been a tip off that this wouldn't go well. Fool me once and all that.

Personal Changes starts off immediately after the final events in Making it Personal. Rick works for a thriving publishing house in London, and he's been unlucky in love. After a string of mindless hookups--including a three-way with two men he meets one night at his favorite dance club--leave him feeling empty, Rick vows to find himself a serious relationship.

Oi. Guys, that three-way I mentioned? It happens at seven percent. I've said it before and I'll say it again; I'm no prude. But lordy, give a gal a chance to get to know you first before heading off to your DP, m'kay?!?

Then there's Julian. Julian is the in-between guy, before the other MC comes along. After one sighting at the aforementioned dance club, he's smitten with Rick and becomes mighty possessive of Rick after two subsequent dates. Then there's the attempted rape part, when the dashing MC Angelo (FINALLY) swoops in to save the day.

Sounds ridiculous, right? Honestly, at this point, Personal Changes was starting to feel a bit like a cliche m/f bodice-buster.

Things did actually start to improve once Angelo came on board. But...no. The story takes yet *another* unbelievable nosedive when Angelo's brother just happens to be out and about and clubbing on the same street as Angelo. Can you guess what happens next? If you predicted rage from Angelo's family at the revelation that Angelo is, gasp, GAY, shoot me your mailing address: I'm sending you a tiny gold star.

THEN Angelo's dad demands a family meeting (Angelo's a 30-year-old man, what?) where he threatens to disown Angelo if he doesn't agree to daddy dearest's demands. I won't spoil the demands, except to say: ridiculous demands are ridiculous. And also, no self-respecting human of Angelo's age is going to agree to such nonsense.

A break up ensues and more, lots more, silly stuff happens--including a reappearance of Julian and some family violence--that had me rolling my eyes all the way to the end.

In the spirit of wanting to tie things up nicely and end peacefully, I'm happy to report that the sexy time in Personal Changes is indeed sexy, and the book is a relatively quick and easy read. There are cameos from the MCs in Making it Personal, so if you're a fan of the first book in the series--and many are--I'm positive Personal Changes will butter your bread, too. As for me, I got dry toast.

KC Wells hit it out of the park with this one! For me this was a home run hit!

This is book 2 in the Personal Series, and as much as I enjoyed the first one this book just blew it away. This is Rick’s story, he is someone who is looking for love in all the wrong places as the song goes. He has been doing one night stands, sex with strange men, getting close to no one. After a particularly hot sex filled night, Rick wakes up feeling more alone and empty then ever before. He wants more, he wants someone to love, someone to love him, something deeper. So Rick makes a decision to hold out for love, no more causal sex.

And of course the journey for something deeper is not easy, Rick meets someone who he thinks genuinely likes him and gets himself in a dangerous situation. What Rick doesn’t know is he being watched from afar, someone who wants desperately wants to know him better, and thinks he is just the bees-knees! (old fashioned saying i know, but so cute). Just when I was about to cringe and scream “NO” at my kindle, Angelo rescues Rick and saves the day!

This starts the relationship between Rick and Angelo, and I gotta tell you my romantic heart was thumping wildly at the beginning. I loved watching these two come together. This was a true romance in my eyes, the first dates, the glances, the laughs, the sexual tension. My heart was just swooning all over the place. Of course it can’t be that easy, trouble comes between them and i was again yelling “NO” at my Kindle. Angelo, my knight in shining armor just made me mad! Family gets involved, friends give their two cents and the whole thing just gets heartbreaking.

What I look for in a story are characters I can love, maybe sometimes hate and a story that I simply can’t put down. This was one of those books. I absolutely positively loved every second of it. Many thanks to the author for the ARC.

5 star hit!

I read this second book in the Personal series from the boxed set that was free on Kindle Unlimited. I'm probably not going to continue the series. While I didn't mind the first book, this one was a bit of a chore to slog through as it contained so many of my pet peeves when it comes to characterization.

First, at the very beginning of the book is a very detailed sex scene between Rick and characters which are not his intended HEA. I despise this. If you're going to make the main character have sex with someone other than their romantic interest, fine. I don't want details. Especially when the entire encounter makes the MC feel like crap after the fact. I don't need that sex scene, thanks.

Second, Rick is a gullible, wishy-washy doormat-in-training throughout the entire book. He doesn't listen to his own inner warnings, keeps seeing a guy he knows he's uncomfortable with, and even after that guy shows his truly heinous colors, Rick still contemplates meeting up with him later on, with the emo qualifier, "Well, at least someone wants me."

Ugh.

Third, Rick's love interest, Angelo, completely bows to his family's wishes and hurts Rick immensely. I hate it when neither main character has a spine.

So yeah, didn't really like this one too much. So Removed from Kindle.

3.5 stars rounded down to 3 because guess what? Still no 1/2 stars here on GR...I know, you're surprised...me too...NOT!

This one's a little out of order but it still works...

'Personal Changes' is actually book #2 in K. C. Wells series 'Personal' but apparently I'm not very observant these days because I listened to the audio book for this one first. Cornell Coliins is the narrator for this one as well as for books 1 & 3 and he's a new to me narrator.

The MCs for this story are Rick Wentworth and Angelo Tarallo. We were introduced to Rick in 'Making It Personal' or at least those of us who read or listened to this series in order were. Not being in that group I can officially say 'There's no problem reading this series as standalone stories'. While there is some cross-over with the characters in the stories. As I said Rick was in the first book and Blake and Will the MCs from that story appear in subsequent stories as do other secondary characters I had no difficulty following who was who and what they did, etc. Blake is Rick's boss and Will who is now his partner was his PA but well get to that in my review for 'Making It Personal'.

The other thing that we found out in the first book was that Rick had a longstanding crush on Blake, whom he'd believed to be straight and this is part of what leads to Rick's realization that he needs to make some 'personal changes' in his life. Rick's tired of the club scene and one night stand, bathroom hook-ups. He wants what Blake and Will have a real relationship, commitment, someone who looks at him as if he's the center of the universe. in plain English he wants what most of us want...a partner who's as committed to us as we are to them. So he makes the decision to change his lifestyle no more f*cking on the first date with essentially nameless people. He's going to take the time to get to know someone see if maybe they could have more than just one night. It's this decision that brings both Angelo an Julian into his life.

Rick first encounters Julian at a local club and as the evening goes on he begins to wonder if he hasn't met Mr. Perfect. Julian seems to be everything he's looking for and he just seems to do everything right and here is where I need to add that ironically, for me, Julian's voice was the one voice that just didn't work and maybe this is superficial on my part but Julian's voice made me skin crawl it was whiny at times and held an undertone that just make me think 'what are you up to?' from the word go I did not trust that voice and as the story progressed...surprise! I was right, Julian was a sleezeball not to be trusted.

Equally as ironic is the fact that while Rick is being charmed by Julian, he's also being watched by someone who decides from the minute he lays eyes on Rick that he wants to get to know him. Everything that he sees tells him that this could be the man for him. But it's not until Angelo and a friend rescues Rick from the less than welcome advances of the less than Mr. Perfect, Julian that we truly meet him and begin to get a sense of who he is. (This is all in the blurb so have no fear there were no spoilers here).

Now for as much as I didn't like Julian's voice I did like Angelo's. I actually found Angelo's voice to be soothing and comforting and as the story progressed I really came to like Angelo. I liked Rick as well, but I do have to admit in this story Angelo was my favorite.

Angelo comes from a traditional Sicilian family and unfortunately this is a bit of an obstacle for these two men and also created a bit of a problem for me with some of the ending. Overall the story worked for me. While it was good and enjoyable I wasn't totally enthralled with it.

I liked Cornell Collins narrations with the exception of Julian's voice the other character voices worked for me and I was comfortable with them. They were definitely expressive and conveyed emotion well.

'Personal Changes' was an enjoyable story about how what we think we want isn't always what we get but if we're lucky fate will make sure that we end up with who we really need.

‘Personal Changes’ picks up right at the end of ‘Making It Personal’ – not counting the epilogue that showed a piece of Will and Blake’s future. But even though I knew part of what was next for them, my enjoyment of Rick and Angelo’s story didn’t suffer at all. The focus of this second installment was firmly on Rick and his newfound determination to find a man to love, rather than to race from one hookup to the next. Paired with Angelo’s gentlemanly behavior, followed by horrible issues with his Sicilian family, this story certainly held my attention.

Rick works at Trinity Publishing, loves his job in book marketing, and struck up a friendship with Will as the only fellow gay man before Blake came out. He has had a crush on Blake for all six years he has worked there, and with Blake firmly off the market, Rick begins to reconsider his modus operandi. Quick hookups in clubs have lost their appeal, but even though that insight is easy actually changing his behavior is much more difficult. His first attempt at a serious relationship goes spectacularly wrong. His second, following Angelo becoming his knight in shining armor, looks like it is going in the right direction. Rick has never been so hopeful and gets more deeply involved by the day.

Angelo notices Rick right after New Year, but it takes a while before an opportunity to get in touch opens up. Not the way Angelo would have wanted it to happen, but when he sees Rick in danger, he steps in and they begin to talk and get to know each other. Angelo is amazed how well they fit and all seems to be well until one of his brothers sees him and Rick holding hands, tells Angelo’s homophobic father, and all hell breaks loose. Angelo receives an ultimatum: the family and getting married to a woman of his father’s choosing, or Rick. And no matter how independent he is or how much he loves Rick, Angelo has been taught to obey his parents his whole life, he can only do as he is told and break things off with Rick.

The resulting pain is excruciating – on both sides. Rick has no idea what happened, and the not knowing why is driving him up the wall. Angelo has lost the will to live, his work suffers, and it takes an intervention for him to come to his senses and to know what to do. But weeks and weeks have passed, and he may be too late… The whole situation had me worried and I could not put the book down until the very end. What an emotional roller coaster!

If you want to know how the guys at Trinity Publishing are doing, if you like contemporary stories with lots of drama, heat, and heartbreak, and if you’re looking for a read that is an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end, then you will probably like this novel.

Another wonderful read from K.C. Wells. As with her previous books, I found it so easy to get invested in the characters and root for a happily ever after, while knowing that the men are going to have to work for it.

Personal Changes starts right after the New Year’s Eve events in Making it Personal (although this book can easily be read as a standalone). Now that Blake and Will have gotten engaged, their friend and co-worker Rick is looking for love as well. He has not had much luck with men wanting to stick around and after an intense three way one night stand leaves him feeling empty and sad, he makes a decision. No more casual sex. Rick wants a relationship. He wants to date. He wants someone to love him. He thinks he has found that in Julian, but little does Rick know that there is someone else watching and waiting for him. When things with Julian take an unexpected turn Rick finds Angelo, who just may be the man of his dreams.

Rick and Angelo were both very relatable characters. The two have good chemistry and I enjoyed watching the relationship grow as they date and begin to share their lives with each other. Rick is so sweet in his yearning for love and his desire to change his ways. Angelo’s struggle to live his life for himself while trying to keep the love and respect of his very traditional Italian family was sometimes painful to read, as his family is torn over their reactions to discovering he is gay. Of course Blake and Will are there for Rick, as are the other Trinity Publishing co-workers, who will support him in any way they can, while Angelo finds strong support and words of wisdom from an unexpected source.

This wonderful romance has a little bit of everything: humor, heartbreak, steamy sex scenes, frustrating moments where I wanted to shake someone and even a little Doctor Who. Blake and Will are one of my favorite couples so I was very happy to have them back. This story provided all the emotional ups and downs I have come to expect from Ms. Wells' books and I absolutely recommend it.

I have to say, I enjoyed the little hint at the end as to what may be in store for another member of the Trinity Publishing family, and can only hope that means at least one more installment in the Personal series.

You know when you read a book and you really, really like it, so when a sequel is released, your expectations are really high? And you hope and hope that the sequel is just as good? Well, this sequel is even better!

This story has all the elements that make it a true page-turner. From Rick's desire to find true love, his regret at his casual sexual exploits, attempted rape, good friends, finding love, intolerant families, loving families, ultimatums, violence, love and lots of hot sex.

The story starts with a bang (menage and dp!) and from these early scenes, it's clear that Rick has a very low opinion of himself. He is vulnerable as he searches for love and this vulnerability allows him to be taken advantage of. Luckily he has good friends Will and Blake to look out for him and bolster his spirits.

Angelo is from a traditional Italian family with traditional beliefs that don't include them having a gay son. He experiences his own heartache when he needs to make some very important decisions but he receives some very wise advice. "You decide for yourself who you are going to gift your heart to, and see that love returned."

I really enjoyed the journey as Rick learns that he is worthy of love and Angelo makes life changing decisions to follow his heart. There are scenes of smoking hot sex and moments of beautiful tenderness and a fabulous romantic happy ending!

A copy of this book was provided by the author in return for my honest review. Thanks K.C.!

I realize this is in the middle of a set, but I liked the blurb. This turned out to be a lovely romantic story about Rick, who works in publishing and Angelo, a wood carver/designer.

Rick has a life devoted to one night stands, when he gets into trouble with one of these, his guardian angel Angelo comes to the rescue. Angelo wants to take it slow, he wants this to become the relationship he has longed for. Rick, well he's a hot mess, but eventually he wants the same.

There are ups and downs, especially since Angelo comes from a strong Italian Catholic family. Yes, you can guess where that is going.

This is a sweet. sometimes melancholy romance, with a good helping of angst. Perfect for a snowy, hot beverage day. I give it a relaxing night full of stars.

I don't know why I waited so long to read this. Ms. Wells is brilliant as a writer I have loved everything I have read by her. This was no exception. My emotions we're charged from the go. I felt for Rick in so many ways. Loved this story!

Read this one during my Hawaiian vacation in 2013. Remember really enjoying it, but don't remember enough to review.

Guess I'll just have to re-read at a later date! :)

I'm not sure where to start with this review, because I loved this book SO DAMN MUCH. There was just so much to love! Ever since I read Making it Personal, I'd been dying to read Rick's story. I adored the first book - and Blake and Will, naturally - so much, and once I'd read their HEA, I was desperate to see Rick have his own happy ending too. When I first got this book, I was insanely busy at work. I had two late shifts back-to-back, and I kept saying to myself "you don't have the time to start this right now! Be sensible!" I just couldn't resist. And then I couldn't put it down! I was so knackered at work, and I didn't even care. It was so worth it. That shows how much I enjoyed this.

Rick and Angelo's romance was beautiful. It was a bit of an emotional roller-coaster, but I loved every page. There were parts that made my heart flutter and had me smiling down at the page, and then there were other parts that broke my heart into tiny little pieces. I'd obviously met Rick before, and I knew I'd love him. I had been pining for his story for months, after all. He's such a likeable character, it's impossible not to love him! Angelo was a brand new character (although he was briefly mentioned in the epilogue of Making it Personal), and I instantly adored him. He was such a great guy - caring and gentle and so sweet. He was the perfect gentleman and he really cared about Rick. What broke my heart was the crap that Angelo had to go through with his family. He was given a horrible choice, one that no person should ever have to make, and I honestly think I felt my heart shatter. And Luca? What an absolute arse!

Julian was an absolute psycho and I hated seeing Rick with him. I hated how Julian made Rick doubt himself. But with Angelo, everything was perfect. They were so right for each other. One thing that kind of bugged me was that Rick never reported Julian, but then I do understand that he had been frightened. It just bugged me that Julian basically got away with what he'd done.

It was awesome to see Will and Blake again. They're one of my all-time favourite couples, so I was fangirling like crazy that we got to see quite a bit of them here. The story actually takes place in the time between the final chapter and the epilogue of the first book, so we even got to see Justin again *cue uncontrollable sobbing* plus the rest of the staff from Trinity Publishing. And Ed! Holy hell, I LOVE Ed! I liked him before, but I love him even more now. I really love how much he cares for his friends and how he tried to protect Rick when Angelo showed up at the office. Ed is just such a genuine and caring guy. And also, something is clearly going on with Ed. There just has to be a story there. I would KILL for a story to be there. Pretty please? Something? I will take just a few pages. ANYTHING! ;)

Something else that was perfect about this book - A DOCTOR WHO PARTY! Oh. My. God. I nearly died. I bloody love Will so much. And then the bit towards the end with the sonic screwdriver. I flailed and fangirled. How can you not love a guy who buys the one he loves a sonic screwdriver?! I need to find a guy like that for me. Right now.

The only thing that I was a little hesitant about when I started this was the warning in the blurb about an M/M/M scene. I'll be honest, that's not really my thing. Every now and again, I'll read something that's M/M/M, but I generally tend to avoid it. In this story, the scene totally didn't bother me. It was actually incredibly hot, and it was also before Rick had even met Angelo. Plus I think the scene was kind of important in bringing Rick to his senses and making him realise that he wanted something more from his life, that he wanted more than just casual sex and meaningless hook-ups. Plus the scene was with Ben and Oli - Will's friends from the first book - and I love them ;)

So yes, as you can probably tell from my rambling, I absolutely LOVED Personal Changes. I'm just sad that it's over. This is being added to my favourites shelf, and I can guarantee that I will be reading it again and again :) Great job, KC!

Note: I was provided an ARC of Personal Changes by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thanks so much, KC!

Personal Changes is the brilliant sequel to K.C Wells’ Making it Personnel. This book made me smile, tear up, despair and rejoice. I loved every moment of it!

I sat down for a cup of tea this morning and decided I would read for 15 minutes. Several hours later someone knocked on my front door destroying my short reading break. It was the best way to spend a day. The story hooked me and I was carried through Rick’s journey. I didn’t want it to end.

I loved the story line of this book. We get a glimpse into Rick Wentworth’s life before his epiphany about one night stands. And then we get to see his personal growth. What made this book so easy to love was Rick’s failed relationship. It had a sense of realism, because while many of us would like to decide to settle down and then find the perfect mate, it doesn’t always happen that way.

My favourite thing was Blake and Will, but mostly Blake. His understated encouragement and support of Rick made me smile many times. Blake is the type of friend and boss everyone dreams of. Will was brilliant too! His character charmed me in Making It Personnel and this book made me love him more. I really enjoy when a sequel that focuses on different characters still allows you to see so much of the original characters that made the book/series great. This was so well done by K.C.

Angelo was yummy!!! He was a wonderful character full of depth and feeling. Angelo and Rick together, was HOT! The pair were sweet and funny and charismatic. You really feel their joy, hope, pain and love. Their families where different and yet that dynamic only increased the pleasure of reading this book. Rick’s sister is a highlight. I love her! I think I might want to be her! As soon as you read Personal Changes you will know why.

Angelo’s sister was involved in one of my favourite moments of this book. Angelo’s decision and her support of him was wonderful.

I could probably write pages of things I loved, but, what it all boils down to for me was that this book was a great read. It had well developed characters, great plot and true feelings and emotions. K.C Wells has the knack for making the reader feel what the characters are feeling. She is a truly talented author and this was another excellent book. I could happily sit down and read it again right now.

Why didn't anyone tell me I was going to cry so much? My heart was shattered over Rick! He just wanted to be loved and nothing worked out.

I didn't like how Will and Blake was constantly in Rick's business though. I know they are friends and everything, but COME ON give the guy some space.

Angelo. Oh my sweet, sweet, Angelo. I really liked you. You were great. Then you broke my heart. How could you do that?

Why do people let their families rule their lives? Seriously. I never understood it. I come from a HUGE Hispanic family and yet if they didn't support me and my life then who needs them? I can say that, because I've "dropped" numerous "family" members. You don't like me? Eff you. I don't need you. I didn't even shed a tear. I guess I don't understand how you can let someone rule you just to make THEM happy. What about YOUR happiness?

I'll be reading on in this series.

"I recieved a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honost review "

Rick’s story? “Yeah!” That was my first reaction after falling in love with Will and Blake in the first part of this series and I was so curious for the next part.

And boy oh boy was it a worthy next part for sure!

Make sure you read this somewhere where you cannot be disturbed and you have air-conditioning on or something because this book is Hot with a capital H.

When we meet Rick in the start of this book, we find him swinging through life. He’s going from one man to another or better yet, from one fuck to another, not getting attached and he proudly proclaims that his longest relationship lasted a whole 3 months.

Yet deep down he wants what his boss Blake and his fiance, Rick’s friend Will, have.

A man to come home to, to love, someone to be together with forever.

After Rick ends up in a extremely hot threesome after hooking up in one of his regular clubs, he looks into the mirror and realizes he doesn’t like what he sees, marking this as a turning point for him.

(The warning for the private place and A/C is in full speed for this threesome btw)

When he meets Julian he thinks this could be it. The man is attentive and nice and doesn’t push Rick. It feels like he can make this work.

Little signs are starting to tip Rick off though, showing a very possessive Julian and also on a double date with Blake and Will it doesn’t seem to work out properly.

Then it all comes trashing down hard. You will have to find out how and why by reading the book. It’s sufficient to say this is the moment where Angelo steps into the picture.

Beautiful kind and sweet caring Angelo. What’s not to love you could say, and that is exactly what happens to Rick.

They take a slow pace but there is definitely something there and it is lovely to read the built up in their relationship.

I would like to mention that I seriously can never think of Skype in a normal way again, when Rick and Angelo take the meaning of Skyping to another fabulous level.

When Angelo’s secret from his family gets blown, all things literally go to hell.

Author K.c Wells’ heartbreaking description of the things that follow leaves you gutted and helpless yourself as a reader. I found myself begging to please let it end and make things right.

How things go, what exactly happens and how it works out that is again for the reader to find out reading this story.

I do have to say that the end makes you want that private place and A/C again, and leaves you completely satisfied as a reader.

So thank you Miss K.c Wells for this sequel and also for including Blake and Will as a significant part of this story supporting and caring for Rick.

This story has everything you as a reader want – happiness, sexiness, angst, love, friendship and self- exploration to name a few things.

Voto 4,5 💗
E a quel punto Rick e Angelo possono finalmente iniziare a frequentarsi.

I am really enjoying this series. KC Wells is my new "go to" author when I want to read something contemporary with a twist of angst and memorable, enjoyable MCs. In this case, Angelo was memorable for the wrong reason, i.e., I wanted to slap him upside the head a few times and then go back and do it again.

I liked Rick-- more in this story than the quick peek in the first book. He was charming, cute, sexy and ready for a commitment. The author involved him in an extremely hot threesome at the beginning of the story with two guys who pick him up in a bar, and though it was great that night, it proves to Rick just how much he wants more. He's ready for it and when he meets a new man who seems to be perfect, he decides to go slow. The guy, however, is overly possessive and turns out to be Mr. Imperfect instead. Rick finally meets the "right" man, Angelo Tarallo-- gorgeous, sexy and Italian.

Unfortunately, Angelo has a traditional Italian family and when he's outed by being seen holding Rick's hand in public, he takes the coward's way out and breaks up with Rick.

Although the author eventually provides a HEA for the guys, the pain and heartache they both go through to get there makes for great reading. And visits with Blake and Will throughout the story pushed me to buy their sequel, More Than Personal. And, of course, I'm moving on to Personal Secrets. I feel like a kid in a candy shop with these stories. Kudos, Ms Wells, for creating another winning series.

I love, love, love this series! Well, actually, at this point there are only two books but I’m happy to tell you there will be more. When you love a series and a new book comes out it is easy to be disappointed if the author doesn’t deliver a high quality story. KC Wells does not disappoint with Personal Changes. It carries the series forward and delivers new characters and a new tale in keeping with the nature of Making It Personal.
We begin with an awful (for the MC) threesome. Rick meets two men at a gay bar and because he is lonely and determined to meet his sexual needs regardless of his personal needs they all wind up in bed together. It is at this moment that Rick realizes that what he seeks will not be found in strangers’ beds night after night. And so, he begins to ask himself what he really wants.
What Rick really wants is what his boss Blake and Blake’s fiancé Will already have: a deep commitment and love for each other. When Rick finds a little too quickly the person he feels he can make a future with, Blake and Will are understandably skeptical.
The man Rick intends to build a life with is Angelo, who is from a large Italian family, and unfortunately, is a closet case. Is Angelo worried for nothing? Will his family accept him as the gay man he really is? The answer is a mixed one and brings with it heartache for Rick and Angelo. We go through the anxiety caused by coming out to his family and friends right along with Angelo. The question is, will Rick be strong enough to be there for Angelo or should he keep looking for his Mr. Right? I won’t spoil the story for you except to say Ms. Wells delivers her usual satisfactory ending, with a punch. Great story. Enjoy!

I really want to love these books, but somehow something's missing for me. I can see what I am meant to feel about the characters, and it's hard to admit they just don't.

Rick is an innocent who has got into sleeping around by circumstance rather than by desire. He really just wants monogamy and to feel loved. The mmm scene that starts the book is the impetus he needs to call a halt to his wanton ways, and to try to find someone who deserves his love.

Therefore when he meets Julian, we hold our breath and hope. Will & Blake also hope that Rick is able to find what they have. It's interesting that we know where they are headed (due to the epilogue and the short story) and it's fun to see them back here in their heady early days.

I read them, but I don't connect with them.

Really nice follow-up to "Making it personal". There was scum ex-boyfriend drama, family drama, kind, loyal friends that make you get your shit together when you're being stupid, and a tender love interest. Perfect recipe for a sweet, sexy read. I'd rather have read a little more of the sex and less of the drama, but it was alright. Not an angst-fest or anything, just...pretty average, I guess. An enjoyable read nonetheless, with very likeable, emotional characters.

Recommend!

3.5 I kind of wanted to wrap Rick in a big fuzzy blanket and snuggle him for most of this book. I'm glad he got his HEA but I had very familial feelings towards him which is strange (even more so since it should have been Angelo that felt like that to me because his Sicilian family could have been my own). That made the romance/sex weird for me but that has zero to do with the writing or the story. I'm still all about the K.C. Wells love, I think she's brilliant.
