A woman with high ideals, grit and determination. At a young age, the first woman elected to the Government of Canada, she fought hard for her beliefs despite strong opposition, sometimes underhand, from male colleagues. She was a champion of the underdog, the poor, the disadvantaged, the elderly, as well as being a strong pacifist. Sadly, she was poorly rewarded for her lifelong dedication..
