The book of Revelation states that Satan has declared war on “those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus” (12:17). For those who love our Lord Jesus Christ and strive to follow Him, we must contend with a powerful enemy who is out to destroy us and everyone we love. Are you prepared for this battle?
This breakthrough spiritual guide will not only give you the “What” of spiritual warfare, but, more importantly, the “How.”
Fr. Ken Geraci takes the reader through a broad overview of spiritual warfare and the development of one’s prayer life, into a powerful encounter with the divine mercy message and the treasury of weapons Jesus gives us through it. One of the most powerful elements of his teaching is the opening up of the Divine Mercy Chaplet as an extension of the Liturgy of the Eucharist and the power and grace that flow from it.
When it comes to war, one does not get to sit on the sidelines. The enemy has engaged you as its prey. Spiritual Warfare and Divine Mercy will assist you in recognizing the war that we find ourselves in, and will equip you for the fight.
“Your opponent the devil is prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, solid in your faith.” - 1 Peter 5:8–9
Spiritual Warfare and Divine Mercy opened my eyes to aspects of Divine Mercy I had never considered before, especially how closely the Chaplet is tied to the Mass.
I am going to be very honest and say I haven’t prayed the Chaplet consistently in a while. I got caught up in aspects of the wording and just couldn’t wrap my head around the prayer.
This book not only answered all the questions I had been tossing around in my head, it opened my eyes in new ways to the beautiful gift of Divine Mercy and how we as lay people can help do battle through it.
For a long time I wouldn’t read anything to do with Spiritual Warfare. As I am learning though, not being aware doesn’t make it any less real. Books like this one show me not only how real it is, but also concrete steps I can take to pray and and make sure I am living out my Faith as best I can.
The discussion on the sacraments was especially informative and a good reminder of what it means to truly live the sacramental Catholic life.
Thank you to TAN Books for the copy of this book. All views are my honest opinion.
So...I'm not the biggest fan of this devotion. I found it odd that when I used to attend the novus ordo, all I would ever hear was the word "mercy, mercy, mercy." No one would ever talk about justice. You really can't have mercy without justice. They both go hand in hand. God is a god of both justice AND mercy. That's why Purgatory exists. Purgatory is proof that you can't have mercy without a little bit of justice. Also, the fact that this devotion was banned by the Vatican just makes me cautious of it. I had to take a few stars off as well because it seemed like the author of the book isn't a fan of Traditional Catholics.
Wow, love this book! Learned so much more than I ever knew about just how important and powerful the Divine Mercy Chaplet is, especially in the days we're living in.
Loved it; thank you Fr. Danny! My favorite devotion explained so well and so comprehensively in the context of spiritual warfare. Will definitely be bringing back to prayer!:)
