Grab your tissues and go on a journey to Bar Harbor, by Amy Rafferty, "The Queen Of Gorgeous Clean Mystery Romance" in the Secrets In Maine Series. A heartwarming mystery family saga set in a charming beach resort town in New England. The Beach House In Bar Harbor is a heartwarming tale that follows the story of Thorn Wright, a single father and local vet in Bar Harbor, who out of desperation is left with no choice but to hire Rose Davenport as his veterinary nurse and practice manager. After four years, Thorn still has not moved on from the sudden death of his wife, and seeing Rose again opens up the old guilt that he’s carried around for twelve years over her. Rose struggles with her own emotions and harbors ill feelings for Thorn from their past. To make matters worse, she is trying to deal with the devastating bad news that has just shattered her world. So the last thing Rose needed was to find herself fostering a dog that had recently lost his best friend and home, especially as she was not an animal person. Or to be railroaded into taking a job at her mother’s best friend’s son’s animal hospital! While Rose and Thorn deal with old feelings for each other they are soon drawn into the mystery of Rose’s neighbor, Jeffrey Peters' death, and find out that Rose’s new furry companion, Franklin, may have been the reason for it. Join Rose and Thorn as they are drawn into an adventure while shadowy figures stalk them, mysterious roses are left with cryptic messages, and their new furry friend is full of surprises. The deeper they get entangled in the mystery and intrigue surrounding them, the more they realize they can no longer deny their feelings for each other.
Maybe it is time for them to solve the biggest mystery of their lives so they can forgive and open their hearts to each other forever. Kudos to Amy Rafferty for giving us another unforgettable story with wonderful characters. Rose is back in Bar Harbor after a messy divorce. She's not ready to meet thecworld yet. Thorne lost his wife four years ago. He still isn't ready to date again. He has his kids and his vet practice to keep him busy. Meddling moms want to get them together. This is a story you won't put down. There is Rose and Thorne's chemistry, which neither wants to admit to. Will these two finally admit their attracti9n or are both still gunshy? There is also a mystery, which isn't completely solved by the end. There are two wonderful dogs - Franklin and Ginger who are well trained. We are al so introduced to a few more characters - Cara and Penny.
Thorn Wright a single father and local vet in Bar Harbor is desperate and hires Rose Davenport as his veterinary nurse and practice manager. Thorn is yet mourning his dead wife. Rose too has her problems as she gets devastating news and she is not looking forwards to fostering a dog who had lost his keeper and home or taking a job at her mother's best friends sons animal hospital. They are dealing with feelings for each other and they solve the mystery of Jeffrey Peter's death. There is a lot of suspense and mystery to make this a very exciting and intriguing read. I am on the ARC team and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
Oh my gosh! Another series by Amy that grabbed me from page one! Rose is awakened by a dog that won’t stop barking, finds her neighbour's body and gets thrown for a bit of a loop in discovering her mom has arranged for her a job interview with the vet. The vet turns out to be her high school crush who humiliated her at the prom. Each chapter brings more intrigue. The dog isn’t the right dog, mysterious break ins happen and things are not as they appear to be. Will Rose and Thorn actually get their second chance, will they discover who is behind all the drama? What comes next‼️? I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
Wow - another phenomenal book in the Bar Harbor series. I am always totally captivated by books written by Amy Rafferty and this book and series is just another example of why she is my favorite author. So many interesting characters and relationships keep me totally engaged from cover to cover. I love the focus on Rose and Thorn in this book. Will they find true love? I can't wait for the next book in the series to see what awaits my favorite characters and for clues to the mystery to be revealed.
I read this book for free as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.
This series about BarHarbor is full of romance and action, not to mention crime, including murder. I have been to Bar Harbor and have a hard time believing that the crime in the book is realistic. At least I hope it isn't. No tourists were harmed in the two stories I have read so far, so we are probably safe. In both books, long-term crushes finally come together to start their delayed happily ever after. Happy endings are the best! I was disappointed in the misplaced punctuation and some misspelled words, especially the woefully common alright, which is totally not ALL RIGHT! TWO WORDS ONLY!
Circumstances throw Rose and Thorn together as sparks ignite. She’s getting over a bad divorce and he’s still mourning his dead wife.
However…there’s a murder or two and some missing artifacts that take over the show. After several break-ins and a few kidnappings, oh, and some roses and notes (who are THEY from) will they figure it all out? And what’s up with the dogs? I guess you will just have to read it to find out.
Another fast paced book with lots of twists. Enjoy!
This is the second book in the series. Rose has moved back to Bar Harbor. She never wants to see Thorn again after he humiliated her at her senior prom. However, she takes the dog staying with her to the local vet, Thorn. She winds up helping that day and getting hired to work there. Another great book by Amy Rafferty. She weaves the story to keep you reading to the end and leaves you wanting more. Really liked the friendship that Rose and Cara developed, and the chemistry between Rose and Thorn.
This is the second book in this series and the second book from Amy Rafferty that I have read. The writing of this story is just beautiful. I am a dog lover, but Rose has a major fear of them and I could feel everything she felt. Thorn is the town vet and is surprised to see that Rose is there with a new furry friend. When things go bump in the night, Rose and Thorn find themselves together; trying to figure out what exactly is going on around them and between them.
I received an ARC copy and I am leaving a voluntary review.
Just finished reading The Beach House in Bar Harbor. What another hit! I don't know how Amy does it every time, but this book was fantastic. I loved Thorn, Rose, and Cara. The dog, Franklin, was really special and added to the story. This was another mystery, suspense read which had me wondering many times. I just love this series. It is on to The Bachelor in Bar Harbor. Thank you so much Amy for all these wonderful series. I am loving this series about the Wright family and their relatives. Wish you all the best and happy writing!
Can there be a second chance at love? When Rose thinks about the disaster of her senior prom, she is reluctant to see her first love Thorn. A chance opportunity has Rose working in Thorn’s vet office. The book contains murder, mystery, and some super smart, well trained dogs. A kidnapping and poisoning has everyone on edge.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion
This entire series has an endless storyline. I started the first book only realize there was no answer or ending, which led me to read the second, third and so on. There are far too many characters to keep straight with no real descriptions of them. I listened to all seven books and still there is no true ending. Narration was slow and lacking emotion, had to listen at 1.5 x speed to get through the monotony. Would not suggest.
Amy skilfully weaves a thrilling & suspenseful mystery with a romance in another intriguing Bar Harbor novel. This is Rose & Thorn’s story & how they have a second chance at love. They discover misunderstanding’s from Rose’s Prom days. They work together to find out what has occurred & who is involved in the death of Rose’s neighbour. Can a dog be the key to murder. Read on I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author & I am writing a voluntary honest review
Being new to Amy Rafferty and honestly this genre of writing in general, I really enjoyed this book and series so far.
Who wouldn't with Rose, Thorne and of course Franklin! This series truly has something to offer many different types of readers- romance, mystery and more!
Looking forward to book #3.
I received this ARC from Amy and am leaving my honest review.
I read the book as ARC reader. Thank you Amy Rafferty for a great second book in the series of The Beach House In BarHarbor.
Rose is back in Bar Harbor and Thorn is running his veterinary hospital. Incessant dog barking and a death next door. Lots of mystery. A kidnapping and a second chance at love.
The story just gets better and better. I love Franklin! The book doesn’t disappoint, it keeps you wondering, who is causing all the trouble and why. It is very entertaining, there is mystery, secrets, and romance. It is hard to but down. Can’t wait for the next book in this series. I received a ARC copy of this book and this review is my own. Edit
This book is page-turning with exceptional world-building and realistic characters that are intriguing! The Beach House in Bar Harbor is a heartwarming tale that follows the story of Thorn Wright, a single father and local vet in Bar Harbor, who out of desperation is left with no choice but to hire Rose Davenport as his veterinary nurse and practice manager. After four years, Thorn still has not moved on from the sudden death of his wife, and seeing Rose again opens up the old guild that he's carried around for twelve years over her. Their journey is enthralling with an absolutely sweet and emotional second chance romance, a beach town that has quirky characters that are exceptional, and the world-building is realistic. This is a clean romance that has warm and fun-loving characters, mystery, a second chance romance, struggles with emotions, adventure, mystery, heartfelt emotions that will have readers needing Kleenex or Puffs for their tears that are free-falling down their faces, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her reader's hearts and attention with The Beach House and a single-father romance that is heartwarmingly sweet and emotional.
I received this book for free and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rose had moved back to her hometown to start over but never wanted to see Thorn after what he’d done to her mat the end of high school. But they end up seeing each other and get interwoven in life again. This was an interesting storyline that has a mystery and revisiting things from the past. What will happen next? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Review Copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this book. It centers on characters from book one about Hope and Logan. This book centers on Rose and Thorn. However the mystery that began in the first book of the series continues in this story. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series to find out more of the mystery woven into each book so far. A nice clean, enjoyable read.
Gutton for punishment, after the disappointment of book 1 of the series (as if written by a new author young person with no familiarity of Bar Harbor), I gave book 2 a try. Rose and her decade plus fear of dogs got exhausting quick. I will not continue the series. If you love it, great for you. but, knowing the area, this could be so good!
This is the second book in this soul possessing series and one that totally encapsulates every emotion that can be stirred by suspense, danger, tidbits of romance and the possibility of second chances. Anticipating the next saga!
I adore this amazing new series! It's sweet and exciting with mystery, suspense and romacne all in one. I already love Rose and can't wait to see what's going to happen next. Definitely one of my new favorite series!
perfect combination Second chance, mystery, wonderful characters and clever dogs and the reader always wondering, who are really the good guys.... A perfect combination, I couldn't ask for more as a reader. I received this book as a review copy.
Absolutely loved this story. Assumptions can mess up so many lives. Amy Rafferty offers us romance, humor, mystery, twists and a few surprises left to come. Bar Harbor has some interesting inhabitants.
A beautifully written story about two people who have their own personal lives to deal with. Thorn still has feelings for Rose even though their relationship didn’t end well. Is it possible for things to change between them. Definitely ready to read more about Thorn and Rose.
ThiS was an easy read. The works just seemEd to flow. Being part of a series many of the characters continue to be a part of the plot. Leading to the next book. When Chase faces a new development.
Another great book I can’t put them down. Your mystery and romance parts keep me reading sometimes all day. There were a few wrong names in the wrong places in the last few chapters.
The books are good but it is obvious that the author has never been to Bar Harbor. There is no boardwalk in Bar Harbor and the names she gives to different places are all wrong. She should have done a little research on the area before she misnamed so many places.
This a wonderful story about Thorn and Rose and trouble is brewing about dogs and treasures. This story had lots of suspense and drama. Thank you for letting me read this great story.
