Growing up in poverty, Sunny never expected anything good from life. However, even he did not anticipate being chosen by the Nightmare Spell and becoming one of the Awakened - an elite group of people gifted with supernatural powers. Transported into a ruined magical world, he found himself facing against terrible monsters - and other Awakened - in a deadly battle of survival. What's worse, the shadow powers he received happened to possess a small, but potentially fatal side effect...
Deffo my least fav volume, the talking durning the whole antarctica operation was mundane and it all spread for far too long. as much as i liked the fight with corrupted devils and terrors, especially the sneaky bastard who sunny failed to kill at LO49, were amazing, just the whole concept of helping in a frozen kingdom just took way too long (also nearly 100 chapters named the fall of falcon scott is funny lol)

Okay joking aside, definitely the best volume yet of Shadow Slave. Changes are here, for better or worst. Those who cannot keep up will perish. This book delves into what that has been lacking for a while now, growth.
For the last four volumes, we definitely saw Sunny experience many harrowing hardships, but those are personal battles that mostly affect his survival and those of his small cohort. Now, that's about to change. What will the experience of war that will definitely claim million of lives affect our jaded and selfish protagonist?
The prelude to the antartida expedition was entertaining and the first chapters of it were great, some mini arcs were a bit boring in comparison but overall this arc was way better than the second nightmare but far from Forgotten Shore.
Cassie's episode was nothing new but brutal. Why does she seems stronger that other diviners?

Its good but i would'nt say its the better than than the 2nd volume tbh none of the 5 volumes can be compared to the second volume but its just good just that am not that of a fan of antarctica arc though its good for the third time
Que carajos man, este libro es peak desde el principio hasta el final, sunny en antartica tiene un aura tremendo, me quedo con la frase "the devil came back, the titan didnt", los momentos como el terror de LO49, el "i don´t need convinction", "Bleeding is too pedestrian. So, I don't bleed"
Simplesmente, um dos melhores livros que eu já tive o prazer de ler. Essa ficção é uma obra de arte e, sem sombra de dúvidas, o melhor livro da saga até então.
Chapters begin to stall out a bit with a lot of the same themes being repeated over and over. However, the plot continues to be interesting once progress is made.
I enjoyed this arc so far the most. The despair the humanity shown by everyone was splendid also had some funny moments which were a breath of fresh air.
