She thought she could see everything. Time is proving her wrong.
Ten years ago, Natalya’s ability to remember the future cost her the life she wanted when her vision of her fiancé’s death tore them apart. Ever since, she's considered her precognition more of a curse than a gift. How can she live in the present when the future looms so large?
But when the night she's long dreaded finally arrives, Natalya's vision and reality diverge. She and her ex, Colin, are drawn into a web of the unexplained, led by a mysterious little girl. Who is Kenzi? And where did she come from? The little girl might be the reason Fate has spared Colin’s life, but could she also bring Natalya and Colin together again?
With Colin, Kenzi, her family, the townspeople of Tassamara, and a set of circumstances that nobody could foresee, Natalya must solve the puzzle of a lifetime. Her discovery that her gift is not the only one at work will change the lives of everyone around her as time becomes precious in a most unexpected way… and the clock is ticking.

Sarah Wynde graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in English, which she actually managed to put to use by becoming an editor. She's worked on magazines, websites, and books, including ten years spent as a senior acquisitions editor with Pearson. Eventually, her love of writing pushed her into independent publishing. She likes to think of the stories she writes as unexpected fiction—bending, blending, and occasionally breaking genres.
A solid, thought-provoking book, this novel is #3 in the Tassamara series, but unlike the first two, this one is at once less funny and much, much deeper. The story revolves around two adult protagonists and former sweethearts: Natalya, a doctor, and Colin, the sheriff of Tassamara. I’ve met both before, on the periphery of the first two books in the series. Here they play the leads. Like many in Tassamara, Natalya has a psychic gift – precognition. Ten years ago, she envisioned Colin’s death, which was the cause of a bitter breakup between them. Colin, oh-so-noble man, dumped Natalia after he learned of his impending death – for her own good, of course. Now, Natalya stumbles upon the scene she had foreseen ten years ago, only her vision doesn’t exactly come true. Colin is alive. Obviously, Natalya’s precognition malfunctioned this one time. Furthermore, there is a mysterious girl on the scene, a seven-year-old child who doesn’t speak. Natalya takes the girl into her home and names her Kenzi – just for something to call her. As Natalya and Colin try to find out who Kenzi is and where she is from, the story unfolds around them, rolling into an unexpected direction. There are no quirky paranormal secrets there, like in the other two books, but the reality is much more frightening, even tragic. And much more plausible, alas. I won’t go into specifics of what Natalya discovered about Kenzi’s past – don’t want to spoil the surprise for the readers, but I must say that the author handled this shocking twist in the story with surgical precision. The narrative vibrates with tension, as almost every page poses more questions. Who? What? Why? And no answers, until about 60% into the tale – neither for the readers, nor for the heroes. Then Natalya plunges into a perilous, volatile situation, and the answers are all there, staring her in the face, mocking her, while the tension escalates even faster and the stakes rise. After I passed the 60% mark on my Kindle, I couldn’t stop reading until I finished the novel. The villain is terrifying despite his lack of paranormal abilities. He is as mundane as your neighbor and as dangerous as a suicide bomber. And both Natalya and Kenzi are trapped with him, while Colin is searching frantically for the woman he’s never stopped loving. Would she forgive him? Take him back? But first, he must find her and the child alive. Many secondary characters play important roles in this story, as does the landscape, the lakes and forests of Florida. Overall, a great book. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for personal reasons: I like lighter reading material better. This book is a bit too dark for me, but for those who don’t mind a little darkness in their books, this might be the best in the series.
Personally, I love this series. I couldn't put it down, except when driving & with other people. Such a fun and interesting read. The town the story is set in is somewhere I would want to live. If you enjoy cozy mysteries with a little light paranormal twist, you might enjoy this book as much as I did, or not...but you should give it a chance. it's worth the time. Thanks for a great read Sarah! Keep them coming, I can't wait for more in the series!!!!
I missed Dillon but nevertheless this kept me up till 3am because I couldn't stop reading. Sarah Wynde just gets better with every book. She is one of the shining beacons in indie publishing and one of the people that makes it worthwhile drudging through the slush for. Hoping there will be a fourth book soon. Would love to read Grace's story.
As I saw in another review, I, too, missed Dillon, but it was great to get more of Rose, so I'm not complaining! I will note that the things keeping couples apart in this and the last book are a bit silly/weak, but, hey, that sort of stupidity certainly happens plenty in reality! I am looking forward to the next book and sad that it's the last in the series!
I've gone back and forth on ratings for this one. 3.5 stars?
Because I really like it a lot in theory. And the first half of this is all kinds of delightful. I love the premise - childhood sweethearts who break up over a premonition. Colin and Nat are adorable and have great chemistry. The book was set back in Tassamara, and I really think Book 2 in this series suffered from being in another location. The family is charming. I loved all the characters. I wasn't even all that upset about all the drama at the end (I mean, it was fairly inevitable).
Two reasons this isn't four stars though:
Still, this is super delightful, so I bumped it up to four stars.
A Gift of Time, by Sarah Wynde caught my attention with her first descriptive sentences. I feel that it was a real page turner with characters that were easy to get to know and follow. The setting was in Tassamara, Florida. I am not usually a fan of "fantasy" or "psychic" books, but this was a believable and a fun book to read. I read it in two days. When I began reading, I got caught up in the story, and wanted to know what was going to happen next. It was the first book that I have read by Sarah Wynde, and I will continue to read many more.
This is Natalya's story. It all starts when she is sure the vision she had of finding her fiance's dead body has come true. The vehicle is right where she knew it would be. The body is lying unmoving on the side of the road. So why isn't Colin dead? And who is the little girl she found crouched over his body? How is it that his blood says he has had a heart attack, but the scan she did shows a perfectly healthy heart?
Colin knows he was an idiot to send Natalya away all those years ago. But she left and went off to college and started a life without him. Her visions always come true and he was not going to let her stay with him and watch him die. Now she is back in his life and her vision didn't end the way it was supposed to. Can he figure out a way to hold onto her this time, or did he ruin his chances forever?

Natalya has known what is going to happen her entire life. As a young woman, she has a vision that Colin, the love of her life, is destined to die, she knows without a shadow of a doubt, that she will find him dead one day. Colin wanted Natalya to have the life she deserves so he drives her away so she can have a family and kids. What Colin didn’t know, was that sometimes fate has other plans.
Natalya and Colin try desperately to find out where a mysterious girl went missing from. The girl won’t speak and seems to have some special gifts. Natalya seems to have lost her foresight, so her gift is no help in locating Kenzi’s family. When Kenzi and Natalya suddenly go missing, Colin is desperate to find them both. A wonderful love story with some very unique paranormal abilities.
Another great read in the brilliant Tassamara series. Following Nat & Colin as their destinies cross again after ten years in the way neither expected! What does a little special girl called Kenzi, a ghost called Rose, an accident & a derelict lake house possibly have to do with what Nat's precognitive gift revealed years ago? Could fate be giving her & Colin a chance to re-visit what might have been between them? Brilliant writing draws you in & rich descriptive prose brings all the brilliant characters & situations to life! A heart-warming magical read! Recommend this & any of Sarah's other wonderful books - you'll not be disappointed! Read on kindle unlimited.
The only way I could get a hold of this book was through Amazon as a Kindle book. None of the libraries that I'm a member of had it on Overdrive, so I finally purchased it. It's less than $5.00, so not a piggy-bank breaker, but I've probably spent about 8 months waiting for a library to have it. It only took a few days to read so now I'm going to have to harass the author into publishing the next one. (I think she's working on a different series right now.)
I’m not sure how this book just fell off the wheels of the series.
Things I liked: Max
Things I didn’t like: 1. The romance is nonexistent 2. The FMC is annoying 3. I kept putting the book down because I was bored. 4. The FMC makes so many dumb decisions. 5. It’s a police procedural with erratic procedures
Great finish to a great series. I hope she writes more using these characters. As with the rest of the series, she does a great job of incorporating supernatural phenomena with every day occurrences. She writes great dialogue. The characters have good depth.
I am a little sad the next book, if there is one is not available. The family get more interesting and engaging each additional book. This story was a very good one, in bringing in Natayla's back story and introducing even more 'special able' children to the mix.
Nat helps Kenzie, a sweet quiet girl, they found in the woods! Colin her old love survives his accident instead of dying. really good story, kept me on the edge of my seat. suspenseful, interesting, and loving❤️❤️
While I enjoyed the first two books in this series, I thought they were mostly light, cute reads. This one, in turn, is a strong solid story. You can definitely see improvement on the authors part when it comes to plot, character development, and overall storytelling. I really liked this one!
What a great book full of emotion, adventure , drama and mystery. The author has carried some of the characters from the first two books into this one effortlessly.
I love a ghost tale where it isn’t a horror story , and these Tassamara books satisfies my wish for a great read that just leaves me happy at the end. I will be checking out all her books!
A new main character and a new ghost. How will the past impact on the future and why. Written with feeling and makes you think about Fate and choices. Great read
Very strong hero and heroine. Love Kenzie and the boys. I loved the twist of how what was supposed to happen, didn't happen. The bad guy didn't work for me. That's the only reason not a 5.
