Love is so blind. It feels right when it's wrong." - Beyonce Knowles
Every woman is lucky to be blessed with a woman’s intuition. So why didn’t the smart and success-driven Paris Allen decide not to use hers? It’s a question she asks herself every morning when she wakes up and reaches for her probing cane. See, Paris Allen wasn’t born blind, and there wasn’t some tragic accident that caused her to lose her vision. Paris lost her eyesight the moment she laid eyes on a man who she saw clearly. She had her doubts. She knew what the streets said about him. He was self-made. From the trenches. Dangerous.
Ignoring the red flags, Paris put her trust in the things she could see on the outside. But what waited for her on the inside was dark and cruel.
After escaping a horrific experience, Paris struggles to come to terms with her new life. Her world is black and dark. She's alone and afraid. Powerless.
The Shawty Down The Hall is mysterious, suspenseful, and emotional. Will Paris be able to look past her tragedy and put the pieces of her shattered heart together again?
Candi B, excellent read. Sometimes when things seem to be a certain way instead of turning the other cheek or thinking it will be different in time, we think with our hearts and not our heads. Paris, was such a great girl. She thought her life was one way where in reality what she thought was real wasn't real at all. Going through he'll and having to adapt to a new way of life had Paris becoming a great over comer. Chosen had some serious issues, he was looking for something or someone and he used his illness to do serious harm to many people. Meeting Beau was such a bright spot in Paris life, he helped her deal with her new self and allowed her a safe haven. I think for all the help she went through she came out on the winning end. P. S. If Rome and Stephanie gets a story I would love it🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I really enjoyed this book. It had me invested from the first chapter. If i saw the red flags that Chozen was showing, then i knew Paris saw them too. It's just like a woman to ignore things that are trying to warn her off but her ass wanna risk it anyway🙄 Sometimes we really shouldn't ignore those red flags and eventually Paris saw that she should've left Chozen ass alone.
There were times when i felt sorry for Chozen And there were times i really didn't like his ass. He knew he needed to be taking his meds but didn't like the side effects, so he didn't take them. What threw me was him killing the only 2 people that were there for him through thick and thin. Even though we found out they betrayed him, they still didn't deserve to die. Skye did deserve to have her ass beaten cuz she didn't inform her boss [Paris] that her brother had a mental illness. In the end Chozen got want he wanted.. to no longer suffer with his illness.
Honey, when Beau entered the book with his BDE!! I was all for it! I loved him from the jump because of the way he was with Paris. And i adored his brother Rone. He was hilarious! He had me laughing every time he was in a scene. His immature ass had BDE too. Too bad Stephanie didn't wanna deal with his baggage and immaturity and i couldn't fault her. I'd love a book about them, though. That would be epic, lol
All in all, i recommend this book. It was a great read!

Whew! This was a great read. Chozen needed so much help that it was scary. Skye was wrong asf for not letting it be known to Paris about his mental illness and how bad he can be. But she was fake and sleeping with Paris ex Xavier anyway smh. It’s sad Xavier went out like that but he was willing to save Paris. Chozen got what he wanted in the end but he deserved to to live out his days feeling how those women he blinded felt everyday. Beau was EVERYTHING you hear me!!!! The way he loved Paris was so beautiful. I felt bad that she would never get to see her husband or son but she still overcame what Chozen tried to take from her. Stephanie was battling so many demons and I felt for her. Rone loved her but he did need to mature some more. But Paris deserved happiness after being betrayed by those closest to her. Great job !!
Paris is that chick before and after being blinded. Lust would make you ignore a lot of red flags. Skye wasn't responsible for Chozen. He is his own man, wasn't anybody going to make him do anything he didn't want to. So how was that Skye fault? I'm her and Stephanie resumed their friendship, sisterhood. Stephanie's mama was a real bish. Chozen is an evil egotistical monster. Who doesn't understand no they don't want be with him anymore. He got what he deserved blinded all those women. Beau and Rone did him like did those women. He killed the only two people that cared about him. Rone is silly and didn't care what came out his mouth.Stephanie know she was feeling Rone. Beau was really sensitive about Paris.Paris was about that B.D.E that Beau was giving her. I was happy with the friendship they formed. Now they were married and have a son.
This was one dozy of a ride! The writer doesn't hold back from the beginning we get a brief glimpse of the excitement to come. Throughout this story I kept thinking of the old Vincent Price movies. The way Chosen switched between personalities us just totally maddening. The coin is two sided and you can see both. I love how Paris and Stephanie rise above their circumstances and take the win to new heights. I also like the relationships both women are in,even though it would've been nice to see love between Ron and Stephanie. This was not only a well thought out story, but very well excuted. There were however a few typos that came at critical times. Take moment and put this story on your reading list.
This book was a great read. It had everything that you needed. Mystery chaos BDE multiple point of views. I really did love this book I loved reading at the beginning was a very hard start for me. I felt like it was kind of all over the place, as well as there were a few typos in the story as well. There were times, where a character could see but they were blind supposedly and that was kind of hard to get over. But other than that the middle of the book and the ending of the book was great I do wish that the end was kind of different because I feel like someone should have suffered more.
This book had an original storyline and once it really got going it definitely held my attention. Chozen was definitely a character that you will remember; you'll hate him but he is unforgettable. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the errors. Beau's last name went from Harper to Parker. The first time I saw it I thought it was a one time mistake but it pretty much stayed at Parker after a while. Overall, it's a great read and I would definitely recommend this book.
I have read this authors books before, this was different. It shows how she is growing as a writer in my opinion. Something different, there were some wording that didn’t exactly apply. Spoiler alert, during some of the pages, characters that are supposed to be blind can see someone face sitting down in front of you? Chosen saw one of the ladies who he blinded brother sit next him, also with other characters as well. Very well written other than that.
This book was really good. Kept my attention from beginning to end. I felt so bad for chozen, all he wanted was love but he went about it the wrong way. Glad justice was served. Paris had a happy ending. I wish we knew more about her dad and his whereabouts and who he married. Will definitely recommend.
Whew this book was rough for me it took me sometime to actually finish reading it I had to step away. Chosen was certified crazy and sky knew this she should've warned paris about him. Then to find out he did it to other women. But I'm glad that Paris was able to find Beau and he accepted her with her disability and all.
Candi did that this book was fire. It wasn't too long or short and I didn't have to wait for another book to see what happens next. I'm glad Chozen had to suffer and died a miserable death. I would definitely recommend this book to others and I look forward to reading more from this author. Great job.
I’m honestly stuck. I really don’t know what to say about this book. It wasn’t the best. But I didn’t hate it either if that makes sense. That man made Ocean look like a sweetheart I’ll tell you that much.
With the disposition of some of the characters, description was the key to the success of this piece. You did an amazing job and mastered it. Chozen was good and fool. Whew Chile!
The story was okay. It picked up around 46%. The main issue is the lack of editing. Most things I can overlook but it was so bad it made the story confusing at times. I did enjoy the characters.
I absolutely enjoyed this read! Beau and Paris were so perfect together! His brother Rone was absolutely hilarious and had no filter! I’m so glad Chosen got his karma!! Woo! He was a sick puppy! Too bad he never got the help he needed! I look forward to reading more from this beautiful author!
This book was really good. Chosen was really crazy. I felt so sorry for him. All he was looking for the love his mother use to give him. Beau parents were so messed up, and so was Paris. Her aunt was mad at her mother when she was a homewreaker. Shame on her.
