“No one has ever made such a wish,” he says. I flinch at the chilling tone of his voice. “I find that all my previous masters, stupid and weak as they were, must have possessed some innate wisdom or a healthy survival instinct because no one, not one of them, has ever made such a wish.” As he speaks, he slowly pulls off two rings adorning his fingers and lets them fall soundlessly into the sand. He turns his head left and right, loosening his neck muscles. I sit in the pool, paralyzed, like a deer caught in headlights, while the djinn looks at me with dark, carnal eyes. They threaten and promise… There is no turning back.

todo lo que pensaba era sexo, sexo, sexo BASTA PENSÁ UN POCO TARADA
I did not like Amy at all. and her wishes? I know I'm not a perfect person and I would have an equally hard time making wishes, but i wouldn't be so entitled to asked for him to love me! Thats crazy. And everyone knows a djinn or genie wants freedom and common courtesy says, last wish is saved for them. I also found myself shaking my head and yelling at Amy most of the time. She is not the smartest character and it dragged the book.
I couldn't get over the anger that Ridwan had, especially when he physically hurt her. And the fact that he kept the rules and secrets to himself and they were both caught off guard.
Both of the main characters were very flawed and hard to like. Reading a story where the characters make bad choice after bad choice really gave me a headache.
This wasn't my fav book by LF by any means, but I still liked it! I wasn't too big on Saad's character and found the conversation with her dad in the epilogue...interesting 🧍♀️. I also didn't love the FMC, and the lack of groveling from the MMC 😭.
3.4 stars. Meh..I kind of see why this wasn’t available for purchase anywhere now. Not that’s it’s bad. I liked it just fine. There were some definite hot moments that I really enjoyed. But the relationship itself wasn’t all that satisfying, and the plot was just an ok Aladdin retelling. 🤷🏻♀️ Still good. Just not this author’s best.
2.5 rounded to 3 stars. On the balance, I suppose I liked it. I will say, I almost DNF ‘d it several times in the first 30% of the book. The female main character is hard to like and is too stupid to live. the things she doesn’t consider is astounding. I also absolutely cannot stand that the MMC assaulted the FMC. He strangles her when he thinks that she betrayed him. But I liked the kinks and the spice. I don’t think I would ever read it again, but I like that there was no third act break up, and that they had to unite to defeat a common enemy. There is somnophilia, praise, degradation, control play, some dubcon, breeding, and a pregnancy in the epilogue

⭐ Stars: 4/5 🔥 Spice: 4.5/5 Well, this was fun and spicy! 😈 A fast-burn romantasy that’s the perfect quick read when you need something light, addictive, and hot (yes, that kind of hot) 🌶🥵 As always, Layla’s writing is captivating, and the worldbuilding flows effortlessly. But the emotions and the steam? Whoa… let’s just say it’s sweatingly intense. 🔥
This story was interesting until Saad got introduced into the plot and then it took on a rambling/wandering tangent.
Amy has a lot of inner monologue. Ridwan was doing that thing I don't like- lack of communication/miscommunication.
I did not in any way, shape or form, appreciate the epilogue. And I understand we definitely do not live in utopia but her dad's questions and Amy seemingly re-directing the conversation instead of educating/taking a stance/not having such a scene, pissed me off. Like she was willing to die for Ridwan but can't stand up/shut down her dad's religious bigotry was such a juxtaposition. And she was in Cairo, why was her dad acting bigoted/close minded if she came home with a Habibi?
Ni ya leo, ni ya leo. All kinds of sex, kink dd/lg, praise/slut shaming are in the mix. But the plot rambled on for so long that towards the end I wasn't even interested in them fucking, I just wanted them to get to the curtain close/end scene.
This was a free book for signing up for Layla Fae's newsletter - a generous offer. Having just discovered her books this past month and read three of them, I can say I'm on a Layla Fae kick. She brings humor and unexpected twists to 'monsters' that have inhabited our imaginations. The Third Wish is a relatively short book compared to her other works, but it still features its share of plot twists. I do wish it were a little longer so we could have more of the MMC backstory. For me, it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling but set in the desert dunes. But more importantly, what if we preferred the Beast in his beastly form, finding beauty in the delicate balance of power and submission. Having read a few of Layla Fae's books a few themes standout, the primary one about the monster's (the Beast) desire to be seen, accepted and loved as they are, and in this book, the the core theme was around sovereignty of choice versus power over.
A very impetuous young woman finds a djinn in the desert. And then you have sex and romance. Lots of sex. Sex with bondage. Sex with domination. Sex with a great tongue. Sex with a not-so-human penis. Sex with knotting.
You get the drift.
And in between the sex you get a serious budding romance. And the djinn coming to grips with his history and his rage and his lack of trust. And then you have serious peril with a truly nasty villain. And then a great resolution with a HEA.
This was an interesting concept. I've never read a human x Djinn romance before.
The spice was hot.
But I didn't like the FMC, she was insufferable, and the MMC so randomly vacillated from derision to all-encompassing love that it made no sense.
I didn't like all the 'Daddy this' and 'Daddy that', just not my thing. Also, the MMC, at one point, transforms into his real form and stays that way. I'm not into animal muzzles on MMCs, the face has to be humanoid. It's, again, just not my thing.
I downloaded this book because I was interested in Layla Fae's other works, which I would have to buy in order to read. I figured I could get a feel for her writing style and get a free book. It's a win-win.
Even though it was free, I don't know if it was worth it. The characters' motives seemed questionable and I wasn't convinced everything was consensual. The plot was also just really weird.
This title is available for free on the author's site so take notice.
I am in between books of a different djinn series and I needed a break, so I thought a little djinn smut would be just the thing to do. And oh boy did it do alright. Until the Daddy kink reared its ugly head and ruined all the fun I was having. And then it got worse with the breeding. No kink shaming but it's not my thing at all, hence the rating.
For free on the author's website, so that's fun. Layla Fae is a great writer. I didn't love the kink. After reading several of her books, I've come to realize that in spite of her creativity, interesting characters, and excellent sense of balancing danger, romance, tension, etc, there are traits in her MMCs that are just not for me. Being "owned" is not my thing. All of the things that drive that urge, and the ways it is expressed? Do not reach my heart.
The Third Wish was a fun read with lots of passion. The beginning was not as smooth as I would have liked which is why I did 4 stars instead of 5, but it quickly evened out and swept me away. There’s so much emotion in this story but not in a bad way. Theres also lots of fun times that were extra fun due to that third wish. 😁 Amy is funny and impulsive and it cracks me up. Ridwan is alpha in the best ways. I want more if I’m honest.
I wanted more backstory of the main male character, but this book kept you intrigued the entire time and love the chemistry between the two characters and the fact that the female main character was able to live out her life as she wanted to with the man of her dreams and she didn’t know any different. I love books that sometimes have the fairy tale ending!

I don't know why but I really enjoyed it. There were times when I felt Ridwan was a bit too grumpy and also Amy gave in too easily.... I would have loved more grovelling, other than that the story was good. Didn't care much for the inclusion of Saad but that's just my opinion. Overall a good read. Thank you Layla for the freebie.
Wow,the steam in this story is out of the charts!A romance about a naif girl who gets three wishes from a sexy Djinn ...but in a twisted and hot way. I enjoyed it and I'm very curious to read more of Layla's books!
I really loved this book. I had never read anything like it before, but I loved the whole concept of being swept away by a magic genie and then romanced and protected by one. It was a beautiful story filled with magic, adventure, suspense, danger, and romance.
Ha sido precioso, de principio a fin La idea es genial y que la autora lo regalara a sus lectores me parece increíble Todo de este libro es perfecto y como se desarrolla la relación, el amor que se tienen y el mundo mágico creo que es perfecto
Mmc treats the fmc like crap. I understand domination but there’s a point where it can easily go into degradation. There is no love between them and the fmc is an absolute floor mat that exists solely for him. She licks his c&m off the floor. Need I say more?
