I would humbly like to disagree with Dr. Bill Hamon on most points this book offers. I am far younger than he is, and truly we are united with Christ, despite much of the unbiblical nonsense professed in the book.

Gold nuggets in the book: Dr. Hamon notes the importance of the individual's prayer life, corporate prayer, and the power of the Holy Spirit actively in the world. Dr. Hamon also notes that our worship ought to be energetic and joyful.

Where did this book fail? Dr. Hamon gives an intentionally flawed exegesis of "speaking in tongues" in the New Testament. He separates himself and the Charismatic movement from Evangelicalism (thankfully). The book was filled with bad doctrine from start to finish. The number of truth claims that were unbiblical or simply untrue was astounding. The treatment of the Bible was atrocious, and Dr. Hamon relies more on analogies or personal stories to interpret his Bible than the other way around.

If you are a young believer wanting to know about the Charismatics, don't read this book. Protect your heart from teachers like Dr. Hamon, and read your Bible instead.

Good read

I felt it was a little repetitive, but really got the point across. Also encouraged me to do the prayer challenge and stirred up s new excitement for praying in the Spirit.

An interesting read offering some very plausible thoughts/reasonings on what, for many in the wider Christian community, remains a very contentious subject. I must admit that I'm a little bit perplexed as to why the author decided on "70" reasons to argue his point. There seems, for me, no logical explanation for this. I believe it is fair to say that the book contains a substantial amount of repetition which, in my own opinion offers little extra to the reader except perhaps as an aid to memory. This is a bit of a "Bovril" book, you'll either love it or hate it.

Dr. Hamon's book is a scripture-filled inspiration that will set your heart on fire! It would be worth every penny just to read the 70 reasons, but the stories he tells in between are even richer! He uses both real-life experience and metaphor to open the readers' eyes to God's power accessible to us! I am confident that whoever reads this book will be led to offer their voice for the Spirit's use, as He enables them to pray the perfect Will of God. I will teach from this book so that I will learn from it again!

A Must Read for All Christians

I highly recommend this book to all Christian believers. I was so happy to find this book because I know there are so many reasons why Christians were given their prayer language. It's one of the most controversial subjects in Christendom and sadly a big number of Christians don't believe it or they aren't exhausting all the uses of this heavenly language. I thank Bill Hamon for writing this book. It is truly profound and will help me in my faith journey and use my prayer language to its utmost use.

I listened to the audio version and didn't love the speaker's voice. It felt authoritative and methodical. I wondered if I was listening to AI.

Also, the book made a lot of the same points over and over again, but in some ways that is helpful for someone like me who is picking up the book once in a while.

Overall, the book was encouraging and I'm glad to have gotten a taste of the content in case I want to buy the physical version and annotate/read through scripture passages. The anecdotes resonated with me as well were very true to my experience.

Finally a book that explains in depth about speaking in tongues! I have had this gift for nearly 40 years and never really understood that much about it. No one seemed to know that much about it so I never really used it. All that has changed after reading this book and I have already begun the 30 day prayer challenge. This book is a must read!

Although there are some aspects I agree with, for the most part, I did not find this book to be biblically accurate. Some of the claims also felt irresponsible to me as I think they could discourage Christians who have not been gifted with speaking in tongues and might even make them doubt their salvation.

The guy is a doctor in the sense that in his village, he is the only first cousin that knows all the 20 signs of English. Or are there more? I guess god will send his angel in this century to settle the number of letters in the alphabet once and for all.

This book was really good and just what I needed. It definitely did what it was supposed to do. I understand the gift more and I’m eager to build up the faith to keep speaking in my new language. It answered a lot of questions. Everyone should read it.
