Laid in Chelsea: My Life Uncovered

Rate this book

The Sunday Times bestseller!

Pour the champagne, light some candles, lay back and prepare to laugh, cry and gasp at the fully uncensored, Bridget-Jones-esque world of Ollie Locke, star of Made in Chelsea.

Immaculately dressed, fake-tanned and unstoppably cheerful, Ollie Locke is the heart of Channel 4’s hit show Made in Chelsea. He’s done it all. And what he hasn’t done, he’s seen. (Not in a weird way, obvs.)

In a nutshell, that means one hell of a rollercoaster ride of trouble, misadventures, sexual mishaps, epic cringes and embarrassing secrets that nobody was ever supposed to know. Until now.

Because in Laid in Chelsea Ollie – famously unlucky in love – is letting it all hang out. So to speak.

From developing his first crush, dire first encounters, terrible dates to true love – as well as offering his unique advice on how to stay sane in the crazy world of love – Ollie’s laying it bare. And, of course, he reveals what really goes on behind the bedroom doors of Made in Chelsea…

Witty, surprising, touching, downright hilarious and always honest, Laid in Chelsea is an exclusive insight into the mind of the modern man, and a backstage pass to the secret world of Chelsea.

This book is thoroughly disappointing. Not only is it incredibly poorly written and full of annoying name drops but it is NOT the guide to love that I was expecting (and desperately seeking). Instead, it is merely a terribly disguised autobiography with a font size bigger than Aunt Gloria's facial hair. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME: I read this so you don't have to.

[2.5 stars] If you were expecting depth from this book, then you've been watching a very different MIC than I. Very light, quick, and easy read. I would have preferred more insight into Ollie's experience on the show itself, but this book was largely what I expected.

In much the same way that other reality stars have tried to justify their existence, Ollie Locke formerly of Made in Chelsea, published this autobiography back in 2013, at the tender age of 26. One could argue that this is indeed a complete cash cow.

“Laid in Chelsea” as is the title, talks about just that. Sex.

Though a product of “Made in Chelsea”, no figurative dirt will be dished on his ex cast members, and in fact, it barely gets a mention.

This is a breeze to read, recounting his life so far but ultimately it reads like a teenage boy’s diary unearthed in a clear out of their bedroom.

This book is funny and witty and so relatable. This has slightly aged now but in a nostalgic way. I loved watching Ollie on Made In Chelsea and so happy I read this. It been a great quick and cozy read and finished it in 24 hours.

I enjoyed reading this. Wasn't the most insightful book but gave a deeper look into who Ollie is. Thought it was easy to read and well written. It was like u were having a conversation with Ollie. His total honesty was both revealing, honest and sometimes a bit shocking but also amusing. Like the sections on dating advice. Isn't it refreshing to know most of us go through the same types of dating problems.

And I can't recommend taking Ollie's last piece of advice enough. I took a bit of a risk in 2008 and luckily for me found the love of my life. The last 5 years with him have been perfectly wonderful. And u know 1 of the main reasons why, we love each other exactly the way we are

This book is about Ollie, some English guy from a reality show and his candid recount of all his sexual escapades from when he was a teenager til now. He is extremely truthful and brutally honest about himself. The book is about a lot of drinking, and sex with some advice that he offers the reader. Ollie appears to be a really sensitive and nice guy who might actually find a really nice girl if he looked beyond the drinking and clubbing and giving an average girl a chance. Perhaps his real calling in life is really to become a marine biologist since he mentions on numerous occasions how he liked fish when he was younger and not a reality star.

If you like Made In Chelsea then this is a book for you!

I wasn't sure what I would think of this book when I first started reading it but as I got through the first few chapters I couldn't put it down.
Ollie Locke tells stories about his life about the schools he went to and the situations he ended up in. He proved himself as being a normal person and although he is posh he shows that he is just like the rest of us and he does find himself unlucky in love.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves MIC.
Such a good read!!

ENJOY!!!

Rating: 3 and a half.
This was an easy read and it was written well because I flew through the pages when I was reading it. If you like the TV show Made in Chelsea then you should definitely read this as it gives a huge insight into one of the main characters from the show and it is nice to know Ollie in a bit more depth now. It was also very funny in places and I was actually laughing out loud at some points.
Overall an interesting and funny read.

I don't know what I was expecting from this book. It could've been a lot better. There were several times where deeper, more interesting issues were mentioned briefly and then glossed over. When reading a biography I don't want the light, fluffy issues. I want to read a book where I learn more about the person.

Clever title that is more entertaining than the content.

I'm not much of an autobiography reader, but I loved Ollie in Made in Chelsea, so thought I'd give it a go. Ollie is such a loveable person and I was genuinely interested to read about his life, although I was disappointed that there was not much reference to Made in Chelsea.
