This was a great October read - the fairies were pulling pranks and sneaking up on each other. It definitely kept me guessing, I had no idea who the prankster was.

I learned that practical jokes are really hurtful not only to others but to you as well. Practical jokes are never the way to impress a friend or make someone you love laugh, there are MANY other ways to do that. So PLEASE don't play a practical joke on anyone today!!! ;)

Fawn's story was funny and very good, she really was clumsy in this tale. Her and Beck were hilarious in this one and it was brilliant. Sleep Pranking was interesting and very funny. It was so enjoyable and brilliant.

I really liked this book! And I think it was cute.
It was a nice, short, fun read, that was a wonderful trip down memory lane-- taking me to Pixie Hollow once again. I plan to read all of these books, and collect them, because I love the world of Pixie Hollow.
Anyway, onto the writing, it was nice, and I liked some of the descriptions within the story, but I do have to say, that for me at least, it doesn't have much charm to it. For example, with Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, the narration had a certain charm to it, because not only did the author of that book mimic the orginal style of Peter Pan's author, but also add her own style to the mix. With this book, it just felt a little basic, and that there wasn't much personality.
That's just me, though, and I would read it again!
I'm glad I read it during the spooky month of October, because it does have some spooky themes that get resolved quite easily. As for critiques, I did get the two main characters confused a lot. Especially with names like Beck and Fawn, and maybe this is because of the names and personalities were quite similar. Other than that, it was a nice read.

I just find these books charming. A shame they’re out of print, though they are available as eBooks at least. I’ve been trying to track them all down to read, and have read most, but the last several novels seem to be pretty obscure (and therefore expensive).

This was a fun one for a Halloween read that isn’t too scary. A pair of fairies start playing pranks on each other, but are baffled when a third someone joins in. I thought the twist was fun and unexpected but set up well, and I liked that the pranks and how they were received was all in fun, not mean-spirited. Though I do hope the one with the slime doesn’t inspire any young readers to try it!

I loved this book as well as the others. I can’t believe that I didn’t see it coming 😭😭😭how couldn’t I have known that the prankster was fawn all along. Specially when she said she could do pranks even in her 😴. Anyways, I loved that the book was about one of the 6 famous fairies of pixie hollow🐾🐾🐾. I like fawn a lot and the relationship that she has with Beck is very cute. They make such good friends🐾🌟☘️🌷

Ok so I have DEFINITELY read this one before too. I was under the impression that id only read a couple of these and never gotten to the rest but I have recognized 90% of this series so far.

Tink and Terence whispering to each other during acorn ball… I don’t know whether they’re playing or watching, but either way…

This is the Halloween episode of the Tales of Pixie Hollow series lol

I wasn't expecting to enjoy a Rosetta-centeted story as much as I did, but this is easily towards the top of my favorite lists for this series.

I think because so many of our main characters have extremely similar personalities (friendly, nice, and passionate about their talent), I get super excited and find it really refreshing when the authors opt to make our POV character actively unpleasant and have some serious character flaws.

This book combines two of my favorite tropes for this series. A snarky/slightly prickly lead character, and pairing up two characters with opposing personalities to see what sort of shenanigans ensue. It's very much giving the same energy as the Prilla and Vidia pair up books, but with its own unique twist. Though I will admit, pairing up the messy tomboy with the prissy girly girl and having them try out each other's hobbies is not the most unique or original concept for a story every, Fawn and Rosetta are so charming it immediately makes up for it.

Speaking of Fawn, I find it interesting that I actually enjoyed her a lot more here than I did in her own solo book. Not that she was bad in her own book, I just think the story being told here is more fun and engaging than the Mysterious Trickster plot.

Now on to Rosetta. I discussed in my Mysterious Trickster that there are some inconsistenties with the way the characters are portrayed in the books vs. the way they appear in the movies. And I gotta say I LOVE how much bitchier Rosetta is in the books compared to the movies, I find it so funny. And it also makes for a sweeter ending when she she still puts herself through all of Fawn's shenanigans despite how miserable they make her. She's a priss and a little self absorbed, but she's still a good friend despite it all.

There's a lot of fun stuff to love in this entry. The fancy dinner plot is mildly annoying because I'm not a big fan of the "let's give the gender non-conforming tomboy character a hyper feminine makeover!" trope. But I can't complain about it too much because it was handled fairly well and it gave us a lot of gorgeous illustrations! I'm honestly surprised we didn't get more formal attire centered plotlines, because fairy ballgowns seems like merchandising gold.

Also, as much as the tomboy in a dress trope is mildly annoying, the prissy girl having to get down in the mud is (while an equally well-worn trope) a much more fun trope to see played out here, and honestly gets more development than you'd typically expect. Because she does it at first out of a sense of indignance over the accusation that she's selfish/can't handle it, but then continues out of sincere sense of respect and friendship for Fawn.

I especially love the ending where Fawn validates Rosetta's experience, not only just for rescuing Fawn from the worm pit but the whole day of messy shenanigans. Sure a day spent rolling around in the mud with frogs and worms is a cake walk to a rough and tumble animal fairy like Fawn, but to a sensitive and dainty garden fairy like Rosetta, doing all that is a huge accomplishment. The two friends end the story with a profound sense of admiration and care for each other, it's really really sweet!

I love Fawn! :D Again, not quite sure why Disney chose Fawn instead of Beck, since Beck is really the foremost animal-talent, but I’m not exactly mad cause I always loved Fawn. (Maybe they didn’t want two blonde fairies?)

This one is a perfect read for this time of year. It’s got a bit of a spooky feel to it without being downright scary. It starts with a storytelling-talent sparrow man (what an epic talent!!) telling a spooky story on Harvest Moon (what a neat worldbuilding detail—part of why I love these books is how cool this world is!), which leads Fawn and her best friend Beck into a battle of pranks that get progressively more out of hand.

The pranks were such fun and some of them rather clever. This book feels so much like just pure fun between friends. It’s a great example of harmless, funny pranks that aren’t mean-spirited. Though some do get quite messy and elaborate!

Fawn and Beck soon have a third-party prankster getting in on their fun and the story takes a mysterious turn as they try to deduce who it could be. They set traps and propose preposterous suspects that keep them both on their toes. It’s really one of the sillier books, but it is such fun. And the little twist at the end is something we don’t see in a lot of chapter books for smaller kids, so that’s always a cool surprise too.

Fawn and Beck the two animal talent fairy bffs love to pull pranks on each other, from replacing each other's shampoo with maple syrup to stuffing each other's closets with nuts. But then one day Beck gets pranked, and it wasn't by Fawn. It happens again, except this time it happens to both of them.

Fawn and Beck search Pixie Hollow, trying to figure out who could have pranked them. But everyone seems so innocent! Then the mysterious prankster manages to move Fawn while she is sleeping without waking her up! Fawn and Beck decide to set up booby traps to find out who the mysterious trickster is. But when nobody gets caught in the booby traps and Fawn and Beck get pranked even still, the girls start to think maybe there's a ghost lurking in Pixie Hollow...

Fawn, an animal talent fairy, loves to play tricks and practical jokes on her friend, Beck. But, it is all good-natured and the tricks go back and forth. When some other prankster starts to get in on the fun, Beck and Fawn are determined to find out who is playing these night-time tricks...and the mystery trickster is someone they never, ever dreamed of! Hint, hint.

Fawn and the Mysterious Trickster is a fun, light easy read for girls who love Disney characters and want a fairy story. The color illustrations are gorgeous and add real depth to the Disney Fairies series.

Fawn and Beck are pranksters, and for a good part of the book they are trying to outdo each other in playing pranks on the other person. The pranks are creative and effective. Yet, later, pranks start happening that neither fairy claims they had anything at all to do with.

They wonder if maybe there's a ghost behind all of it, but the actual solution to the problem is totally unexpected and quite funny. Another good Fairies book from Disney.

This is another cute fairy book I read with my children. All the fairy books have been quite delightful. They always teach some sort of lesson. This one was a little different than the others, but still cute and fun! This story is all about playing practical jokes and the good and bad that comes from it.

This is a splendid mystery for children (especially girls); I find myself intrigued by the story. The two main characters in this story are Fawn and Beck--both fairies have a fun and easy-going personality. What I like most about them is the fact that they enjoy tricking each other; without getting vexed or mad. How fun! (I'll never be like them; I'm too serious).
