The book provides the most comprehensive compilation of Seiji Nishikawa's work and many of his his best designs in the field of the Japanese art of paper folding. The authors models are considered to be characteristically unique - in particular capturing the spirit of its subjects without being physically identical to their real world counterpart, i.e. retaining some deliberate abstraction.
Many of the models have already been published elsewhere, but most of those publications are unobtainable nowadays, and the diagrams in this book are revamped for improved clarity.
The book is divided into four sections, categorised by topic or theme respectively: Fantasy, Animals, The Universe, and Masks. For each model the author provides a few comments about the design itself. All text in the book, including comments and diagram text, is given in both English and Japanese.
