April would love to make friends but shyness stands in her way, until she meets the lantern fox, glowing with the moonlight he has drunk from a forest pool. April looks after him and his glow begins to fade as her confidence grows until they can both be released into their own worlds.

This is a sweet and somewhat bizarre tale about a little girl who finds a fox who has a magical luminescence about him (as well as the ability to speak English.) The story is fairly short and I think that it is an engaging tale for young readers. It has some humorous bits and it also touches on sibling rivalry, divorced parents, and a mother who begins to date.
I found this book in England and will bring it home for our girls to read. The book has a decidedly English 'flavour,' and I will be sure to explain about the different spellings and the slightly different vocabulary. Overall, it's an entertaining book.
This is a really cute book! I enjoyed reading it, I only wish it was a bit longer so we can see more of that awesome fox that glows.~ I'd definitely recommend it to any child who loves wild animals, especially foxes! It’s nice to read about a fox who ISN’T sly, shady, and mean like its stereotype is usually displayed, hehehe.
