Appearing in the short-lived but critically-acclaimed British anthology Crisis and illustrated by McCrea, it told the story of a young, apolitical Protestant man caught up by fate in the violence of the Irish 'Troubles'. It spawned a sequel, For a Few Troubles More, a broad Belfast-based comedy featuring two supporting characters from Troubled Souls, Dougie and Ivor, who would later get their own American comics series, Dicks, from Caliber in 1997, and several follow-ups from Avatar.
Another series for Crisis was True Faith, a religious satire inspired by his schooldays, this time drawn by Warren Pleece. Ennis shortly after began to write for Crisis' parent publication, 2000 AD. He quickly graduated on to the title's flagship character, Judge Dredd, taking over from original creator John Wagner for a period of several years.
Ennis' first work on an American comic came in 1991 when he took over DC Comics's horror title Hellblazer, which he wrote until 1994, and for which he currently holds the title for most issues written. Steve Dillon became the regular artist during the second half of Ennis's run.
Ennis' landmark work to date is the 66-issue epic Preacher, which he co-created with artist Steve Dillon. Running from 1995 to 2000, it was a tale of a preacher with supernatural powers, searching (literally) for God who has abandoned his creation.
While Preacher was running, Ennis began a series set in the DC universe called Hitman. Despite being lower profile than Preacher, Hitman ran for 60 issues (plus specials) from 1996 to 2001, veering wildly from violent action to humour to an examination of male friendship under fire.
Other comic projects Ennis wrote during this time period include Goddess, Bloody Mary, Unknown Soldier, and Pride & Joy, all for DC/Vertigo, as well as origin stories for The Darkness for Image Comics and Shadowman for Valiant Comics.
After the end of Hitman, Ennis was lured to Marvel Comics with the promise from Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada that he could write The Punisher as long as he cared to. Instead of largely comical tone of these issues, he decided to make a much more serious series, re-launched under Marvel's MAX imprint.
In 2001 he briefly returned to UK comics to write the epic Helter Skelter for Judge Dredd.
Other comics Ennis has written include War Story (with various artists) for DC; The Pro for Image Comics; The Authority for Wildstorm; Just a Pilgrim for Black Bull Press, and 303, Chronicles of Wormwood (a six issue mini-series about the Antichrist), and a western comic book, Streets of Glory for Avatar Press.
In 2008 Ennis ended his five-year run on Punisher MAX to debut a new Marvel title, War Is Hell: The First Flight of the Phantom Eagle.
In June 2008, at Wizard World, Philadelphia, Ennis announced several new projects, including a metaseries of war comics called Battlefields from Dynamite made up of mini-series including Night Witches, Dear Billy and Tankies, another Chronicles of Wormwood mini-series and Crossed both at Avatar, a six-issue miniseries about Butcher (from The Boys) and a Punisher project reuniting him with artist Steve Dillon (subsequently specified to be a weekly mini-series entitled Punisher: War Zone, to be released concurrently with the film of the same name).

Уявіть собі світ, де супергерої не боронять людство, а самі стали його загрозою. Світ, де червоне — не лише колір костюмів, а й кров, що щедро ллється зі сторінок. «Марвел Зомбі: Чорне, Біле, Кров #1» — це антологія з трьох історій у стилі «трьох фарб», яка продовжує зомбі-традицію Marvel.
«Нескорений» Ґарта Енніса та Рейсел Стотт — це історія про сліпого героя, позбавленого людської сутності. Зомбі-Дерзибіс б’ється в клітці за забаганкою людей, допоки Каратель не приходить визволити його… чи хоча б подарувати йому спокій. Енніс залишається вірним собі: історія без сентиментів, з ухилом на жорстокість і моральну двозначність. Але саме це працює найкраще — як за духом, так і за формою. Малюнок Стотт — динамічний, в’язкий, з чудовими композиціями й виразними сценами боїв.
«Надія» Алекса Сеґури та Хаві Фернандеса — дещо банальніша. Людина-Павук боронить колег із Daily Bugle, поки навколо — натовпи зомбі, зокрема ті, кого він колись любив. Ідея, здавалося б, хороша — героїзм перед лицем повної втрати. Але темп розповіді провисає, монологи Пітера тягнуться, тому емоційна вага сцен губиться. Зате малюнок Фернандеза є ефектним.
«Визволення» Ешлі Аллен і Джастіна Мейсона подає більш міфологічний погляд. Місячний Лицар бореться з богами, зомбі Тоні Старком і власною вірою. Ідея конфлікту між Хоншу та Анубісом цікава, але реалізація спрощена. Малюнок Мейсона динамічний, трохи грубуватий, але з чудовим ритмом сцен і хвацькою бойовою постановкою.
Не варто очікувати від «Чорне, Біле, Кров» глибокої драми чи продуманого світу. Це не сюжетний комікс, а смачний зомбі-фастфуд: хапнув, пережував, забув. Чорно-біла палітра з криваво-червоними акцентами додає шарму, а формат «три історії за раз» — зручний для читання в будь-який момент.

This one is a bad ass action packed comic. There are 3 stories in this 40 pager.
In story one, it has the Zombie Daredevil (first appearance), Frank Castle (first appearance), Black Widow (first appearance), Foggy nelson (first appearance) and more.
The second story which is my favourite has the Spider-man, Betty Bryant (first appearance), Aunt May (first appearance) and the third story has Zombie Moon Knight (first appearance), Iron Man, Captain America, Anubis (first appearance) and Khonshu (first appearance).
The third story was alright featuring the Moon Knight.
Overall a cool anthology of Marvel zombie heroes.

Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood #1
"Undefeated" by Garth Ennis & Rachael Stott - Daredevil is the zombie thrall to an underground fighting ring, forced to kill those fed to his cage by his captors. The Punisher arrives to liberate Daredevil from his fate. Ennis sticks to what he likes, and it's always been clear he's favored Frank Castle over Matt Murdock. A pretty insubstantial story with just okay artwork from Stott.
"Hope" by Alex Segura & Javi Fernandez - Spidey defends the people in the Bugle from the zombie apocalypse, but how long can the Wall-Crawler fight if the zombie horde includes his own loved ones. Another pretty silly one-off story, but the artwork by Fernandez is pretty great here.
"Deliverance" by Ashley Allen & Justin Mason - Anubis has selected his own avatar - a zombified Iron Man - who is then pressed to take down Khonshu and Moon Knight. Probably the strongest story in this bunch with nice artwork from Mason.

Trato de sacar lo valorable a toda propuesta. Y sí que puede que el concepto cromático de estas antologías variadas del Universo Marvel podría hacer funcionar una nueva extensión del infame Marvel Zombies... Si será así en próximas entregas, no puedo asegurarlo. De momento este trío de historietas está totalmente por debajo de lo que ni podría ni esperar. Sí que la primera historia de Garth Ennis logra imprimir de fondo ese curioso "epílogo alternativo" para una de las relaciones heroicas más dispares pero fieles de toda la historia Marvelita, por encima del concepto facilongo de "lucha libre zombi". Las otras dos dejan a desmerecer sus personajes y un endeble sentido de la coherencia interna. Si vas a jugar fuera del canon de lo que conocemos del Universo Marvel Zombies pues toca darle una vuelta más al menos en la ambientación y contexto para que no quede a desmerecer.

Цікавенке місиво але на трієчку. Дві з трьох історій гарні. Ту, що писав Енніс взагалі не вкурив про що вона взагалі. Про павучка і місячника краще, що з візуальної точки зору, що з того про що вони. Цікаво.

I love a good zombie story, and this three short ones where really good
