I am an author, an engineer, a wife, and a mother to four kids!
We live in Virginia with our three dogs where we work and stay busy with kid's activities. I enjoy writing and am also an avid reader of both contemporary and historical romance.
Writing is my passion, something that I love to do and always have. My journey to author wasn't straightforward but I am so glad I made it here and I get to share with everyone the stories that I love.
The story line presents the seemingly hopeless situation of two people who have desired each other for many years. But Ryker keeps Catherine away from him because he feels unworthy and also she is his best friend Cade’s sister. Both of those reasons are foolish and should result in a discussion between the two of them to find out exactly how each other feels about the situation. You cannot remain quiet and “guess” what the other person thinks or feels!
So when nothing continues to occur at a romantic level, Catherine gives up on her hopeful dream and decides to move on from Ryker. Then events shift with a change of location and she may get a second chance here. It appears that her new neighbor is actually Ryker! So when a stalker comes after Catherine, Ryker goes into action and brings her into his home so he can protect her. If the two of them, now in close proximity, cannot learn to communicate, there will be no hope for either one of them to find love. Will one or both finally say something so they know where they stand with each other? Or will he save the day then let her move on without him? Because if they don’t learn to communicate, there probably isn’t much of a future ahead of them. But then again, it’s difficult to walk away from your hero! (wink!)
Going into this novel, I didn’t realize it’s an interconnected series, so needless to say, I have obviously missed a lot. Although you can read this as just Ryker and Catherine’s story, there are more questions left hanging that will need to be resolved in the next book. While the story started out well with this love-hate relationship between the two main protagonists, it seemed to pick up more and more subplots, until it became a bit confusing. Everything from the allegations against Ryker, Luke’s unexplained behavior, Catherine’s stalker and of course, the real reasons for her father’s actions. So, perhaps a hint that the series should be read in order may be wise. Catherine and Ryker’s relationship stumbles along, often pushed into the background by all the other events, which were all the more distracting. Although I don’t usually point out errors, I hate it when authors interchange the names of their characters, and it happened here quite a lot as Ryker became Cade on numerous occasions. While I enjoyed the mystery and suspense, it felt like the book was trying to cover multiple genres without knowing what it wanted to be.
The author has delivered what I believe to be a fantastic read. Ryker & Catherine's story is perfect blend of romance & suspense. She's always wanted him but he appeared to never return her feelings. She has decided to make changes in her life including letting go of her crush. He believes that he's not good enough for his best friend's sister & now she lives next door to him. Will her stalker be the motivation for him to make a move?.

This is the fourth book in this series and this is Ryker and Catherine’s story. This is a good story which is easy to read, with best friend’s sister, family, friendships, emotions, action, communication, romance, and love, which leads to an enjoyable, haunting, and steamy page turner. Catherine's father is at it again. Trying to control her life from prison. But Tyler won't allow anything to happen to her. They both have feelings for each other they just need to find out what her father is up to. Great series can't wait for the next book!
Great storyline, a few twists and turns to keep you interested. I enjoyed this . The were a few grammar mistakes. But it didn't stop you from reading this series.
Good story for Ryker and Catherine. There’s editing issues… use of Cade instead of Ryker which makes it confusing for the reader at first. Storyline good, though. Great main characters.
