Memories of her mother sitting in the living room with a Bible on her knee had Casey's great-grandmother ask the question:

"Who of my grandchildren will carry this on?"

The Word of God would have been extinguished thousands of years ago if not for parents passing faith down to their children. “Her children arise and call her blessed…” (Proverbs 31:28) is the legacy of a mother who has put Christ in the center of her heart and home, and who has led her children to fall in love with Him.

Her Children Arise shares the stories of biblical moms who remind us that the home is and has always been a mission field for mothers to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ. Even in the throes of sleepless nights, toddler tantrums, and the challenging teen years, we can find our joy and purpose through guiding our children to see the heart of God. The secret is that it’s less about family devotions and more about our devotion to Jesus.

Casey Hilty is a Christian speaker, artist, worship leader, and author of Her Children Arise: Passing a Legacy of Faith to the Next Generation. As a content partner for YouVersion (the Bible app), she has published two popular devotionals for moms: Her Children Arise and MOMentum. Using both storytelling and visual art, she is passionate about taking mothers on a journey from apathy to awe to fall in love—or back in love—with God and His Word. Casey recently jumped back into the world of teaching after being a stay-at-home mom for 14 years. HOW DOES LEGACY IMPACT YOU? We all WANT to do right by our kids, yet, it's hard not to bring our own complexities into their lives. Most of our parents did the same to us, and their parents did the same to them. If you can relate to the challenges of parenting, this book is for you!

I love this quote from Her Children Arise by Casey Hilty, "The more I learned about God, the more I felt 'in tune' with Him. His presence became familiar to me. Before reaching out to people to complain, freak out, and gain sympathy, I sought out my Father who sees me." (p74)

Yess! He's the One who sees us. Casey's book reminds us of the generations of women who've gone before us; they're not perfect, and most of them have baggage from their past, too. And yet, they return to the Lord, knowing He is the source of their strength.

Legacy is passed when we repeatedly return to the One who makes all things new. The author clearly show us that authentic faith perseveres.

But God's not expecting a life of perfection from us; He just wants a life WITH us. And He wants us to authentically walk out our faith with our children, too. This is where legacy is passed on from one generation to the next.

It's never too late to return and a new legacy is ALWAYS possible with God! Well done!

Casey begins each chapter with her personal stories that mothers can relate to, which definitely makes you feel like you are not alone. Throughout the book, you’ll discover lessons of the mothers of the Bible and how we relate so much to them. In addition, there are fun, meaningful family activities to grow closer to God. As well as, Bible verses and prayers throughout each chapter.

“The biggest inheritance we can pass down to our children is the love of Jesus Christ.”

Through her beautiful book, Casey reminded me that I don’t need to look to the latest parenting trend, culture or even to what the world around me is doing. I have my own personal guide, God and His Word, to direct me. Within His Word are mothers just like me, who went before me. What a gift He’s given to mothers. Their example of love and courage helps me become the mom God has entrusted to me. And I GET to pass down this legacy of faith to my children, the next generation.

The growing-up years are long-past in our home, but as I watch the next generation of our family raise little ones, I am blessed to share this easy-to-read, yet profoundly impactful resource with the moms of littles in my own family, as well as those I am privileged to encourage in my church family. If you are a woman of faith of any age, I urge you to pick up this book! It will give you a new perspective and sweet reminder of things you may have forgotten and will be a welcome blessing as you share it with a younger mom. Her Children Arise by Casey Hilty

 

This book is a must-read for mothers at any stage in their journey of life.

It offers a glimpse of the gift and blessing of generational faithfulness and how our role as mother plays a part in that.

Using Mothers from the bible as examples, Casey does an amazing job at making a connection between them and our lives now.

I really related to the struggles she wrote about  and appreciated the biblical advice to handle those situations.

This teaches how we shouldn’t look to other moms or trends or books first for parenting advice. Our first stop should be the Lord and His Word.

This really inspired me to take my role more seriously and to understand the importance of showing Christ to my children through more than just my words.

Casey also does an amazing job at adding a family activity at the end of every chapter, and it's wonderful to have those ideas.

This was a wonderful read and a true blessing to have and also to read again and to share with others mothers I know.

Casey Hilty’s book Her Children Arise is a beautiful encouragement to moms everywhere! I love the way she shares her personal stories of motherhood and highlights the stories of Biblical moms that is a treasure of Biblical insights, wisdom, and encouragement.

As a mom of three boys, one of my greatest heart’s desire is for them to become Godly men who love Jesus and the people around them. I hope that the legacy I impart on my boys would be a life that points them to Jesus. That’s why I’m so excited about Casey’s book because she encourages us moms to pass the legacy of faith to our children.

One of my favorite sections of the book comes at the end of each chapter called “Faith at Home” which shares a fun and creative family activity and a Bible verse. Consider it like a fun goodie bag after each chapter!

I believe Casey’s beautiful book will greatly encourage every mom that reads it!

Casey Hilty’s, “Her Children Arise” is perfect for any mom, no matter what season, whether in the throes of diapers or carpool lanes or long-distance phone calls. Never before have I connected so much to other moms in the Bible who may have faced completely different cultures and times, but the same heart issues. Whether you’re well-versed in the Bible or new to its words and stories, Casey words made me feel connected to the moms of the Bible like Hagar, Mary, and Jocabed (Moses’ mom), bringing simple yet profound insight into their lives and connecting them to my own with gentleness and laughter. Her artwork is her own and makes it so personal and beautiful! This book brought me a lot of encouragement in my journey as a mother raising my children to know and love Jesus!

Casey writes about her grandmother & mother, Biblical moms & her own experiences in motherhood. She makes beautiful connections between modern mamas & the mothers of the Bible. The heart of a mom is something so special, fragile, yet powerful. The modern day mama has so much more in common with our Biblical mothers, than I realized. Casey Hilty does a beautiful job of weaving together stories from her own motherhood journey and those stories of mothers in the Bible in a way that encourages' the reader in her own life as a mother trying to raise her kids in the faith.

I appreciate how Casey didn't just rehash these pretty well-known stories in the usual way, but really leads us into contemplating their situations and the spiritual implications that resulted. Having grown up in the church, it can be easy to gloss over these familiar stories but Casey helps the reader really dig in and learn.

I also appreciate the suggestions for incorporating faith instruction in your everyday in fun and unique ways!

I wish we'd had this book when my husband and I were raising our four kids . . . but you know, it's just as valuable for grandparents, because we too can hand off a legacy of faith for our grandchildren. Casey Hilty provides solid scriptural teaching about parenting by looking at eight women of the Bible and the examples they lived. She weaves her own vignettes with insightful teaching and then adds a helpful feature at the end of each chapter called Faith at Home, which offers various hands-on activities that will engage children and teach scriptural principles. An added feature is the author's own artwork, which graces the cover and the pages throughout the book. This book is a standout, and I recommend it without reservation.

A wonderful book to inspire me as a mom to pass on my faith to my children. She has life stories, practical fun and weaves the biblical stories into each section to show us the way -- to Trust in the Lord, Seek Him first, Follow Him, Live out your faith and Serve the Lord. These 5 segments of the book, with the stories of the women who lived them, brings each section to life.
I was so happy to meet this author at a recent conference, then hear about her book. Actually reading it, was even better than I imagined.
I have already shared it with friends and on social media.
I'm sure this will be used by moms for years to come as we each seek to share our faith with our children and pass on our legacy of faith in Jesus.

With my children grown, I didn't expect Casey Hilty's Her Children Arise: Passing a Legacy of Faith to the Next Generation to impact me as much as it did. From the first chapter, however, Casey's words of faith, hope, and promise were just what I needed. I appreciate how she handles God's Word--with beauty and sacredness, yet shares it timely throughout the book. Casey's lighthearted humor and story telling skills brought her personal stories to life. I especially appreciated Chapter 14 regarding sorrow and loss, yet the hope of the future that paralleled it. A beautiful, encouraging read for any mom at any age!

Using scripture and stories of mothers from the Bible, Casey HIlty has written an engaging book of guidance and encouragement on becoming a godly mother whose children will arise and call her blessed. HIlty includes insightful and practical information in each chapter. The book is easy to read and understand but is deep in ideas of scriptural motherhood and passing faith on to the children.

I intend to recommend this book to many mothers who need inspiration in continuing their journey of raising children who will continue their legacy of faith. This book is also a good tool for teachers and grandparents who play a part in children���s spiritual growth and development.

Looking back from the vantage point of an empty nester with grown children and now grandchildren, I appreciate Casey Hilty's longterm vision of one generation sharing their faith with the next.

Casey's encouragement to follow in the heart steps of seven moms from the Bible brings freshness and joy in the pursuit of obedience to God in our family relationships.

Her "Faith at Home" chapter capstones bring fun, thoughtful, and entertaining action points to engage your children. I will be purchasing several copies for the young mamas in my life.

I know I've read the stories of these biblical women so many times in my life, but I feel like I rediscovered them in each chapter of this book. Casey does a beautiful job of capturing the humanity behind each of the women we read about in the bloodline of Jesus. When she adds in her own experiences as a mom and her passion for discipleship, we are left with a beautiful reminder of what #momlife is really about. This was a great way to start my mornings, and I'll be recommending it to all of my mom friends!

Casey's book really inspired me to pass on a legacy of faith to my kids in the most beautiful and practical ways. I love how she has applications after every chapter that were so creative, fun and meaningful. I need that kind of wisdom in my life! She also is gifted in the art of storytelling. She had me crying and smiling and nodding because she understands the nuances of mama life well! She also did the art work for the entire book, which is amazing. I couldn't love this book more and would recommend it to any mom who wants to teach her kids how to walk closely with Jesus.

Along with her own Mom stories, Casey Hilty shares those of mothers from the Bible in her book, “Her Children Arise.” These biblical moms offer tremendous practical wisdom, even in today’s culture. I’m gifting this book to my daughter and wish it had been around when my children were young. My favorite Bible mom is Rahab the prostitute whose legacy includes King David and Jesus! If creating and passing on a legacy of faith is important to you, I highly recommend this book.

This is a wonderful book to uplift moms and help them see their role as mother in a different light. My girls are both grown and I wish I had had this book when they were younger. It is encouraging and gives a new view on mothers in the Bible and mothers as we are today. I highly recommend this to all moms of all ages with all ages of kids. Casey Hilty has done a phenomenal job pointing to mothers of the Bible and making them come alive as real, relatable women of faith. This book is for every mom no matter what stage your in. I found Casey Hilty thru another author's recommendation. Each section in Her Children Arise follows several godly women in the Bible. We need to share or faith with the next generation of girls, teens, and women.

This book is excellent for women. Reading about these moms of the bible in a new light was so cool. The author brings everything back to scripture and Jesus, but reading about moms like Jochedbed, Hannah, Tamar, etc through their roles as a mom in the bible just brought a new light to how I can relate to these women today. I'd recommend this book for all women but especially moms (in all stages of parenting) to come and sit down and read about these women.

I really enjoyed this book by author, Casey Hilty. I loved how she poured her heart into the pages. There was so much relatable stories for a mom/grandmother of any age that are rooted from Biblical stories we all know. She stresses the importance of being a gatekeeper in your home and pointing your children to Jesus. The importance of setting a legacy of faith to pass down to generations is so valuable and is the foundation of families! So much Biblical wisdom and encouragement in this book and I highly recommend. Buy a copy to gift to your daughter, daughter-in-law, family member, co-worker, or friend!!

The author sprinkles personal stories with scriptural characters in a motivating, inspiring way.
There are easily identifiable stories on identity and more. The reader will see herself there beside the author.
This book is also interactive, which I find engaging.

A must read!
