This was a blast! Super fun, but If I’m honest, I was hopping to see more of the Drengir and the main storyline was super fast paced so I felt difficult to make bonds with the characters (except for Sskeer. I love him)
The best story by far was Trail of shadows and it’s a must read for any high republic fan
Shockingly good. The major downside is that this can't be read on its own and retain a lot of the impact. All of these books rely heavily on the others; a great marketing plot, but terrible for storytelling.
Vytáhlo ze čtecí krize. Jediný Eye of the Storm je slabší, ale to poskládání do omnibusu to 100x vylepšilo. Pokud chcete do High republic komiksů jít: stojí to za to, jsou to nejlepší SW komiksy posledních let a takhle dohromady se čtou nejlíp.
Kinda hard to figure out sometimes where I had to stop reading this at points so I wouldn’t get too far ahead of the books but I really enjoyed this.
I did find it harder to connect with the characters as you don’t really get to spend a lot of time with them and everything is quite fast paced in this.
The first 15 issues in this book, which make up the majority of it, are really quite stellar. I have always been bored by the pre-rebellion era, but this was the most interested I have ever been.
Then the last seven issues take a weird turn with different characters and I was a lot less engaged, and the art in the first five of those is very rough and hard to understand.
But overall a stellar read, especially the main main story.
This one includes the whole THR comics, Trails of Shadows and Eye of the Storm.
I didn’t expect to get this hooked, but this was such a great read. All three stories were super engaging, and I loved how each issue added so much depth and extra context to the main events from the books. It really helped flesh out the era and made everything even more immersive. I think this is definitely worth picking up if you’re into The High Republic. So many great character moments and extra details that make the whole story even more fun to follow!
This was fun! Honestly, the only thing I didn't like about the Rising Storm and the Fallen Star was that, in my opinion, there was not enough Avar Kriss, and this definitely rectified that. Also, as much as I enjoyed Tempest Runner, it was nice that Marchion Ro's villain origin story didn't try to be sympathetic and just doubled down on "yeah, this guy's awful, he was never gonna be anything else".
Finally, something refreshing in the Star Wars universe. The whole story is very well told and put together. The Jedi are intricate and the dark menace makes me want to read the next book ASAP. Highly recommended! Do yourself a favor and consume this book!
I don't read many comic books because they tend to be quite pricey, but I made the exception for the High Republic. I'm glad I did! This was really enjoyable - I love seeing all the different Jedi working together.
Some lf the most amazing art ive seen in comics i genuinely dont dislike a single character i love seeing the characters ive come to adore in the high republic have faces put to names and read and see them go through these adventures, missions and challenges i loved this
So, it was fine. I honestly just didn't care about any of the characters, even by the end. And the stories don't feel complete because pieces happen in novels and other media/collections. Probably not gonna bother on Phase II or III.
It's a little uneven and oddly paced, but the good parts are really good, and the bad parts are never that bad, overall I'd recommend checking it out. Enough major events happen in it its almost required reading to fully understand and enjoy the High Republic.
