Legend's Rising #1

Rise of Fenrir

Rate this book
What would you do if you woke up in the body of a wolf?

Fen wakes in the forest of an unfamiliar world with barely any memories of the night before. What he can piece together is one of two things. He either died and was reincarnated, or this was an isekai scenario. What he doesn't know is which. Only a brief introduction to the world tells him that he has skills and can learn magic. But it's up to him to figure out how. And for a wolf in the middle of the forest, what is he to do?

Follow Fen as he learns how to evolve his skills and level his attributes, seemingly from the most unusual way possible. His life takes him through the years as he grows alongside an unassuming elf. When their paths cross eighteen years later, Fen is thrown into a situation where he's forced to mingle with the human races for the first time.

Kicked out of his forest, Fen will have to regain his humanity if he is to secure his place among the races. But in eighteen years he will face something far harder than anything before. When at attack on the human city he dwells in pulls him back into his destructive ways, he has to make a hard decision. He will have to combine his humanity and his bestial side if he wants to come out on top.

This series is harem free and will remain as such.

I like to keep my bio simple. A few updates and a small mention that all of my books have a tinge of romance involved.

Ashen Realm: Book two will be coming out at the beginning of February. The third book is nearly ready as well. I'm hoping to have it published in April.

Fenrir's series; I will be releasing the fourth book at the beginning of the year around March.

Dimension Dungeon 3 is in the works still. I'm not sure when I'll get it out, but know that I am working on it.

World Champion has been launched, and the second book will be out near the beginning of the year. There will not be a preorder for it, so keep an eye out.

The beginning was interesting, watching our mc realize he isn't human anymore but a wolf, and I thought the stat updates every so often were going to get old, but they didn't. I do enjoy power-scaling books, but I feel like it scaled too quickly. I think it would have been great to watch him become OP alongside the girls he ended up becoming friends with, although I understand why it wasn't written that way.

Overall, it was a good story. Fast-paced, creative, and interesting. The ending slowed a bit, and although I did find myself enjoying it, the urgency of the situation and the pace at which they were moving was at a disconnect. To an extent, Fen was slowly warming back up to humans, but the last bit, I kind of wish he just kind of barreled through everything and flexed his OP abilities. I love when power-scaling books get to show off the impressively insane character they've been building since the first page, like Dragonball with Goku and his constant growth.

If you want a high-fantasy, action/adventure, RPG/DnD-esque book, with isekai this is it.

I don't really write reviews, and I've seen other reviews saying the same thing as what I was going to write, so I will quote them slightly.

70% of this book is fun and a good story. The next 15% is a standard quest and dungeon adventure story. The final 15% is a chase that gets dragged out so the author can make a second book. All the choices MC makes in the chase at the end of the book are completely different from the rest of the book; he could have stopped the chase at any point but decided not to for no reason. I cannot explain how annoying the last part of the book is without giving away spoilers. Let's just say this book went from a 4-5 star book to barely a 3 star book. I ended up skimming the last few chapters.

The author should have found a different way to carry on the story for a second book; I will not be reading anymore of the series.

Mixed emotions

You know a book is good, when it engenders mixed emotions—slight disappointment, happiness, surprise, sadness—the full gambit. However, besides wanting to experience more of Fen’s leveling up, I thought this book was well done. Thank you.

Hopefully, I don’t know how, Niatta gets some sort of justice. That poor girl went through way too much she didn’t deserve. However, it’s a reminder that not everyone gets a happy life and ending, despite their kindness.

100% garbage

Unless you are absolutely desperate read something else! Really the only thing going for this book is the pacing and the bare bones of the plot. Character development is garbage. Reasoning is garbage. This Hass to be the laziest writing I’ve ever seen. Any explanation given makes no sense. The plot twist at the end is stupid. I really can’t stress enough how much garbage this book is. Thank God I didn’t pay for this I would be irate!

Comical.

The first 2/3s of the book were good, but when Niatta gets taken and Fen suddenly loses all reason and common sense and doesn't immediately going after Niatta was infuriating. And having her die only makes it worse. This could and been a great standalone book but I can tell by this blatant slowing in the pacing of the book is that is not what the author planned. I will not be reading this series further.

Interesting

I have never read a book set up in quite this way, but i loved it. Kinda threw me that the characters had character sheets, and was set up like a narration of a video game. But the story is compelling.

Interesting Read

This story of a guy getting Isk to a magical world as a wolf was a very fascinating fast paced adventure that I enjoyed reading. It was kind of hard getting into the head of an animal that used be human.

DNF 6%

I did not finish this book. I barely made it to 6%. It’s just…odd. The writing style is weird, and makes the main character seem like a 12 year old. The game system doesn’t really make sense either.

Amazing

This is my 7th reread of this book and it’s just as amazing as my first read through it. It’s got a great story line, twists and turns and an ending that leaves you craving the next book.
