An inspiring biography of a young man of integrity who achieved many things and excelled at life because of his love for Christ and humanity An excellent book to inspire the athlete in your family Great reading for all ages, but especially teens "We had team. We had unity. We had Brandon Burlsworth. He had a total commitment to be the best?" Houston Nutt, Head Football Coach at University Of Arkansas. Brandon Burlsworth could have been just another statistic of a young man who tragically lost his life in a 1999 car crash?just one of the many who was here and now is gone, only to be remembered by family and close friends. But Brandon Burlsworth is remembered by thousands as a Christian who lived as close to the mark as possible while excelling academically (Academic All-American), (All SEC, All-American guard for the Arkansas Razorbacks, selected in the draft to play for the Indianapolis Colts). Most importantly, Brandon Burlsworth excelled at life.

Great Book. Excellent Book on how to live a moral life with moral values. A Biography on Brandon Burlsworth, a football player for Arkansas Razorbacks. Who was drafted by the Colts but never played in the NFL becuase he died in an car accident a couples weeks after being drafted.

5 out of 5 stars for Through the Eyes of a Champion! This is the life story of Brandon Burlsworth who is probably best known as a former offensive lineman for the Arkansas Razorbacks from 1995 - 1999 (which is also the same time I went to the University of Arkansas). The Razorback football team struggled during Brandon's first couple years but they really came alive when Houston Nutt came to campus for the 1998 season. The Razorback football team went full circle and became really good partially because Brandon was one of the leaders of the team. Brandon and his teammates never quit (they "hit that line and kept on going" as the Razorback Fight Song says). It was fun for me to re-live that time through this book because it brought back so many good memories of my college years. I loved my time in Fayetteville and would do it again in a heartbeat if I had the opportunity! Anyway, this book was very well written. It isn't just about football - it would be a motivational story for not just Razorback fans but for anyone wanting to read about a regular person with a life well-lived. Great book! Happy reading everyone!

As with any biography, it isn't written to be entertaining. It's purpose of showing how Brandon Burlsworth was an exceptional individual was accomplished. I remember watching him play with the Razorbacks. I had no idea until after his death the depth of character that he dispayed. I never dreamed that he would still be affecting my life today.

Through the Eyes of a Champion is a biographical book going through the life of a champion. Brandon Burlsworth is growning from an unwanted accident of a child, to an abnormally large teenager, to a high school football star. This book is appealing to me because of the sports theme expressed in it.

I graduated high school the same year as Brandon Burlsworth, although we went to rival schools. I was a Razorback fan though, and was excited when the walk-on earned a starting position on the football team. Everyone cheered for him because he was considered the long shot, the underdog. We all knew his trademark look, with the black glasses. I was so excited when he was drafted by the Colts, and couldn't wait to see him on the field with Peyton Manning, my favorite player. I remember the shock and the grief when he was killed in a car wreck after only 10 days after signing with the Colts. Such a tragic loss for all of his family, friends and fans, but his story is still inspiring others today through the Burlsworth Foundation, formed by his brother, Marty. Even if you don't like football, this is a great story. There is a movie based on it, Greater, that is wonderful also. Brandon, you will never be forgotten.
