Fated Mates of the Zaarn #5

Bonded to the Alien Rogue

Rate this book
The blue alien who rescues me from pirates says we’re married. As if! But he’s so damned tempting… as is his wicked tail.

ELLA
All the bigwigs on Earth said I’d have a bright future in space. Yeah, right! They obviously knew nothing, ’cause I’m sweating in the bows of an alien pirate ship. The lizards who captured me figured out right quick I’ve got a way with machines.

Thank god, I’ve concocted one hell of an escape plan.

Then he waltzes into the middle of it, seven-feet of handsome wrapped in blue skin and horns. Human guys never wanted me, but Tark doesn’t even bother to say hello. Nope! I get the alien who leaps straight to, “We’re married!”

Tark looks at me like I hung the moon, and the heat of his touch gets my motor running. But I’ve got zero experience, ’cause I’ve been fooled before.

TARK
Even though I’m in the middle of an important mission, I jump at the chance to rescue a Hyoo-mon female. After all, she might be my fated mate.

And she is! Ell-Laa is big, strong, beautiful… and grumpy. But I don’t care. My best friend’s a grump, and I speak their secret language. Her frowns can’t hide her big heart.

Or the way she breathes my name when I touch her.

When enemies threaten to tear us apart, I fight for her. I’ll risk everything to protect her, do anything to claim her.

Ell-Laa is mine.

Bonded to the Alien Rogue is a steamy alien romance featuring a sunshiny mercenary eager to do anything for his mate and a grumpy, untouched heroine ready to trust in love. Strap in for a fun ride filled with adventure, toe-curling steam, and a heartfelt HEA.

Another cute installment with a tall girl grump and a sunshine hot alien fated mate. Ella was pretty jaded because she’d been bullied and had subsequently self isolated. Tark was just the right guy to open her up and help her feel safe. He wasn’t as overtly possessive as the MMCs in the previous books, although he still had those tendencies. He was an absolute teddy bear.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: captivity, gun fight, violence, bullying (off page), poverty (off page), child abandonment (off page), attempted mind control of side character

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: reverse grumpy/sunshine
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Another sweet and spicy chapter to the fabulous Fated Mates of the Zaarn series! I swear, this series has the most interesting series story arc. Each book leaves me on the edge of my seat on the ongoing Grug saga, the recognition of humans, the Sjisji, and all of our Zaarns finally getting mates when they thought all was lost. Reverse grumpy/sunshines are one of my favorite tropes and Bonded definitely delivered. We met Tark before and he's such a sweet guy who was so excited for the chance to get his mate and he's just so wonderful when he meets Ella, completely blasting through all of her hangups about herself. Just loved it and I can't wait to get book 6!

⛔️ My bookshelves can sometimes be spoilers

Happy I decided to catch up on this series again! Krista Luna delivered on another light, fun, alien romance read with some sci-fi mystery and action mixed in. Excellent!

I've really enjoyed that each human woman has a strength that's valued by not only their partner, but the Zaarn as a whole, AND is vital to the plot. They're an active part of the missions and the overarching plot line about rescuing humans and fighting the Grug, not damsels in distress dragged along.

This book was no different but it had some added bonuses. Ella is a big girl at 6'2" and 200+ lbs with a history of less than stellar interpersonal relationships and lack of self-confidence in her appearance but her Zaarn mate Tark of course only sees her as a beautiful mate. She's also not formally educated or trained in engineering but it's clear she has a high mechanical aptitude. Not only is her skill valued and utilized, Tark even admits it probably passes his own. The rest of the Zaarn also accept her skill without question once it's established. Excellent.

Loved the on-going developments to the overall plot.

My only real complaint might be that the dudes do kind of blend together a little bit after awhile. Although I remember them despite there being several months since I read book 4 in the series, it was a little foggy. Not nearly as badly as other series, however, as I can still recall major personality points or roles on the ship for them. Last but not least, everything is a little... easy. Like the human women tend to accept the relationships rather quickly and it's pretty instalove on their end despite not having the mating bond (or at least not experiencing it the same way). That said, sometimes it's nice to have something light and easy, that has its place, and it's not SO instalove that I'm turned off by it. :) They do make their blue aliens work for it a little.

Overall plot is progressing well, but I think I need a little more story/communication in the romance department. Maybe another few pages of them getting to know each other and for the FMC to have some time to learn about the world.

Insta love is fine but also give me a little more found family and fish-out-of-water stuff. I can guarantee I won't remember the FMC by the time the next book is out. Tark deserves for me to love his mate as much as he does.

I can't wait to see what pets get added to the menagerie (dad who never wanted the dog) and for our Captain to be happy!

✨ARC Review! I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review.✨

“You are the treasure I never thought to find, my soul’s breath. You’re more precious than all the riches in the world.”

Bonded to the Alien Rogue is the 5th book in the Fated Mates of the Zaarn series. I feel like I say this for every installment, but they just keep getting better! This book had a reverse grumpy/sunshine and I adored Ella and Tark. I give this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Tark is piloting the Dart when he gets word from the Daredevil crew that Tula pirates have a human on board. He immediately switches course to go rescue her… she could be his fated mate!

Ella has been stuck on a pirate space craft since she woke up from cyro. She was originally placed on the ARK due to her innate ability to figure out mechanics. Basically she’s a jill-of-all-trades type of gal. And the gator aliens placed her in the engine room… huge mistake on their part. She sabotages the air flow in the ship and makes a break for it. She runs smack into Tark who was sneaking around the ship to find her. His first sentence to her? “Hello! We’re married!” 😂

During their grand escape, the Dart ends up getting damaged and they have to land at a nearby vacation planet to lay low while they wait for the team to get them. During their few days of R&R Tark pulls out all the stops for Ella. He’s determined to prove to her what it means to be a fated mate of a Zaarn.

It’s not all smooth sailing of course. Right when things seem to be going their way, the pirates catch up to them and all hell breaks loose. Political alliances must be made and secrets swapped in order to keep the women safe. The whole team must band together with the Sjisji aliens to take down the Grugs and their hive mind.

I 👏🏻 LOVE 👏🏻 TARK! He might be my favorite of all the guys. He’s a total goofball with huge golden retriever energy! He was an orphan and never had anyone in his life who was “his”... He never thought he’d be blessed by the goddess with a mate and he’s just ecstatic that he found Ella!

Ella on the other hand, is such a grumpy goose. She’s like Raxnor in female form and I loved it. She never had a formal education and discredits herself a lot for it, but damn she’s smart. Give her 5 minutes with a machine and she can figure it out. Her and Tark make an excellent mechanic/engineering team.

The SPICE! Ahhhhhhh! They might’ve both been virgins, but damn they figured it out. Tark has had a lot of time to see his friends with their mates and he really goes all out for Ella. He wants to prove himself so badly to her so she will agree to be his. He doesn’t realize how hard she’s already fallen for him. Their story is so sweet! 💙💙

Bonded to the Alien Rogue
Grumpy vs sunshine trope is by far my favorite, but when the gender roles are reversed?!? LITERALLY THE BEST!! This book had me in a choke hold!
Tark is all sunshine, smiles, and easy going with a heart of gold. When we learn his story your heart literally feels for him! He is an expert on grumps since his best friend is one so it's no surprise that he's able to break down Ella's walls and go straight into her heart
Ella is guarded in every way possible and doesn't think she deserves happiness. When she finally lets herself feel and let Tark in?! Magic happens!
Every time @kristalunaauthor puts out a new book I say it's my favorite... but I think this is my favorite!

Comfort read

This one had one of my fav couples in the series. It was like if a male version of Kaylee from firefly got with Brienne of Tarth from game of thrones!
It was such a fun and unique dynamic.
It had lots of sweet romantic moments. A good amount of space adventure. There was some spice, but not so much as to be derailing.
Probably my fav in the series now.

Update! Just in time for release day (although that was not intentional lol). I knew Tark would be my favorite 🥰 Ella was a lovely surprise though, she’s perfect for him! They are the CUTEST!! Agh, I was totally enamored with them both and the way they fit together.

Ella is this rough around the edges, grumpy, not formally trained but damned good mechanic of a country girl that has not had the best experiences with men (or people for that matter) and Tark is this incredibly savvy mechanical engineer that is the embodiment of sunshine whose joy is infectious and he is immediately taken with Ella. 🥺 He even thanks the Sun Goddess for giving him a mechanically inclined mate proclaiming how perfect she was for him in all the ways that mattered, even her grumpiness (because he knows how to deal with grumps from Raxnor* hahaha), which I loved that he's not intimidated by her at all (nor does he patronize her), but in his exuberance forgets that Humans do things differently so the first thing he says is a foot in mouth sorta situation but in a comical way.

And that's really the vibe of the whole book, it's funny and sweet and everything is so open and low angst between the two of them (all the drama is plot-related, not relationship related), which I really enjoyed. I love when there isn't a ton of will they won’t they, I love that even though Tark has the fated mate component and Ella doesn't, that Ella doesn't spend a ton of time second-guessing the bond. Yeah, she thinks it's a con at first but as he explains things to her while they're going on this Defeat The Grug Space Adventure, she trusts him. He gives her all the right reasons to, don't get me wrong. She also doesn't stupidly fall into his arms the second he makes it clear he really does want her, which was nice too. Krista Luna has a knack for writing along that fine line between too fast and too slow, at least for me. She also has a knack for keeping the storytelling going without lulls, it was really hard not to read the entire book in one sitting because I needed to know what was going to happen next!

I loved the direction the plot took, mind you this is a cumulative plot over the five books so far and although you can probably follow along no problem it'll make the most sense in order. I don't want to say much more here because of spoilers. The supporting characters were awesome, I loved that we got to see more of the previous couples working together and that we get more of the bigger-picture world stuff going on. And the most important supporting character, Neenee, was the icing on their cute cake for me. The space pets are my favorite part of this series. They add SO much!

Oh, and the steamy stuff was top-tier as always! I don't always like the virgin trope but it was really tastefully done here, no silly hymens or weird purity culture stuff attached to it. Just the normal first-time jitters but Tark is an absolute gentleman of an alien and makes sure Ella is good and ready for all the good things he has to offer 😈 I can't wait to read their mating bonus short *happy dance*

*Raxnor: Tark and Raxnor's friendship is so good. Tark's view on him is so pure and he's so genuinely happy for Tark when he gets a mate that it hurt my heart when he said he was lonely now that his best friend had a mate. And Raxnor's grumpiness is compared to Ella's and its honestly so freaking cute how the two people he loves most in the world are two grumps and he doesn't take it personally 🥲

💙 “You are the treasure I never thought to find, my soul’s breath. You’re more precious than all the riches in the universe.”
~~~
Ella is absolutely amazing and I adored her so, so much! She’s one brave, strong, resourceful and resilient woman. Even more, I loved that she was willing to face any hardships thrown her way and never backed down from challenges. And she’s quite the skilled mechanic. But Ella’s past has made her feel insecure about her appearance and she's built high walls around her heart. However, underneath all her scowls and grunts, is a caring and compassionate woman with a huge heart. The gorgeous, tall and muscular lady might be a bit of a grump, but one huge, horned and blue ray of sunshine is about to change all of that.
Tark is a brilliant engineer and a spectacular male, who I couldn’t help but absolutely adore! Like all Zaarn males, he’s one huge, strong, honorable, fiercely protective and skilled warrior. And he’s also patient, considerate, supportive and so, so sweet. Even more, his golden retriever energy made him utterly irresistible. Tark’s heart is huge and he truly cherishes everyone in his life, especially after growing up in an orphanage. And he has so much love to give. And no one is more perfect for all that love than his fated mate, but she’s a bit on the grumpy side. Luckily, Tark speaks fluent grump.
I absolutely adored everything that happened between Ella and Tark! Tark is on an important mission when he receives intel that another human female is nearby. So, he eagerly jumps to her rescue. And discovers she’s his fated one. From the moment Ella and Tark met, their attraction was strong and their chemistry was fantastic. But, Ella, being hurt in the past, was so hesitant to open her heart to these new feelings. Nevertheless, Tark is not a male who easily gives up... I just adored those two! They were opposites and, yet, fit so well together. Even more, they were such an awesome team and I loved how easily they worked together. I loved every moment they spent in each other’s company. Even more, I adored Tark’s determination to replace Ella’s bad memories with new, better ones. And he did it so wonderfully! And when both couldn’t resist the undeniable need for one another anymore, the passionate moments they shared were so hot and I couldn’t get enough of all the naughty delight! Tark and Ella were so perfect for each other and more than deserved to find happiness, acceptance and love together!
In addition, the storyline was phenomenal! I loved that we got to visit a Sjisji space station and see all the beauty it got to offer. Giant butterflies, people! Even more, our awesome team of Zaarn and humans is going on another highly dangerous but incredibly important mission in the Abyss. With everything happening and the unexpected turns of events, I was glued to the pages till the very end. And, last, but not least, Neenee completely won my heart being such a curious, eager to help and absolutely adorable puppy!
Overall, the story is another outstanding addition to the series! It’s filled with adventure, danger, action, suspense, twists, humor, smoking-hot passion and remarkable characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
This is book 5 of a brilliant series that has kept me up late and kept me entertained throughout each and every book and this one was the one I was waiting for. Ella iss a human female that was taken from Arc1 by the Grug who then sold her to the Alagators who quickly realised she could fix things and instead of doing what she was brought for she is now in the engine room fix stuff for them but she has a plan to escape. Tart is a Zaarn warrior that works on the Daredevil space ship that rescues human females and he is on a mission to go into the Abbys where the Grug are hiding in his Dart spaceship in stealth mode when he gets a message too save a human female on a pirates ship and he is excited because she could be his soul’s breath and docks with the pirate ship and starts looking for his female and he hears a noise he goes to investigate and gets hit by the human with a wrench and straight away he knows she is the one for him and he tells her they are married. Ella is shocked by the huge blue alien that has come to rescue her and when he tells her they are married she thinks he is crazy but he’s not like the others so she will go with him and escape later. The longer they are together she realises that he is kind and gentle with her and listens to what she has to say and he encourages her when she wants to learn about his tools and the job he does and when she shares a story with him he is furious and want to take out the man that hurt his mate but he is properly already dead. How does it all turn out in the end can they finally stop the Grug and the evil plans and will the sisji send Ella back to the pirates or not when Tark will do everything he can to save his soul’s breath. And Neenee is so dam cute that I would love one just like her. This is just a snippet of the storyline that will draw you and keep you there right up till the very end. Looking forward to the next book.
Even weirder, he grinned up at me with wide eyes, like I was every Christmas present he’d ever wanted. It showed off fangs.
Ella is a mechanical engineer working for the Tula. She escapes, right into the arms of Tark, who is in every bit a golden retriever greeting his favorite person EVER. He is every bit the sunshine to her grump, and it works.
It works so hard for me. I love a Golden Retriever MMC and Tark is every bit of that. Ella is every bit of a grump and he never tries to change her, and I freaking love their relationship. There are some additional political machinations in this one that are making me all kinds of excited for the series.
This is a yes from me.
Ella was feeling grumpy, but Tark was like a ray of sunshine. The story kicked off with loads of action and excitement. I couldn't help but chuckle at Tark trying to mimic some human gestures.
I really wish I could see some fan art of Breyva. Krista Luna's writing beautifully brings the Sjisji world to life. And that nectar pool? Wow, it sounds like the fanciest pool evah!!
Tark's gentle care for Ella was touching. It was heartwarming how he preferred her true human self over her Zaarn disguise. His prayers to the goddess for Ella's safety and for more time together were really sweet. Ella had a hard time believing that someone could care for her so deeply and see her for who she truly was.
I was so eager to see the end of that Grug, but not before Captain Wrin gets his happily ever after. He deserves it, right Krista? Please, make it happen! 🥺
The book doesn't waste any time with dilly-dallying. The suspense during the infiltration scene had me on the edge of my seat. Action and a hint of romance come at you full throttle throughout the story.
One thing I absolutely loved about the book was how Ella's engineering skills were showcased. Krista always creates these amazing female characters who excel in their specialized fields, and Ella is no exception. She shines brilliantly.
And Tark? this ball of sunshine created a safe space for Ella and showed her the love, desire and admiration she truly derserve.
Another highlight of the series is the unique pets in each book. Nennee, the robot pup in this one, reminded me of Vree from the first book. Ella's special touches made Nennee stand out from the rest of the pets, and I couldn't help but adore it.
Ella, the female human mechanic lead, hides behind a grumpy mask after having been harassed a a child/teen for being tall and solid. Now, kidnapped and forced into an engine room with aliens trying to tell her to keep it running, she’s determined to escape. She sabotages something she hopes isn’t critical and starts working her way towards the escape pods.
Tark, the male alien engineer lead, is out to save a human, redirected from his previous assignment. When he crashes into Ella on a malfunctioning pirate spaceship, he’s thrilled to find she’s his fated mate. Now he just needs to woo his grump with his bright cheerful nature!
They’re also still working on finding a way to get humans rights, so they’re not considered pets, as well as keeping out of the galaxy’s overlords’ hands…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a great addition to the series. I adore a grumpy/sunshine romance, especially when the female lead is the grump! I enjoyed Ella’s kinesthetic and mechanical skill, valued by all in this new world. I enjoyed Tark’s optimism and patience and perseverance, as well as his clear encouragement for Ella. I enjoyed their relationship development and their intimate interactions. I enjoyed the continuation of the overarching plot and the integration of secondary characters. Loving it and looking forward to more!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Krista Luna’s books keep getting better and better. Her writing is so vivid and descriptive, and her stories are so imaginative. Thank you to the author for gifting me this vibe-licious book in exchange for an honest review!
“My soul’s breath…”
Tark is living his life as a pilot on the Dart. He receives an alert saying pirates have a human on their ship. His protective instincts kick in and he immediately changes course to rescue her. Turns out that the human is to be his fated mate. Ella is already dealing with the shock of waking up on a pirate spacecraft. Now she finds out a 7+ foot blue alien is going to be her mate! Tark is such a fun character. He’s all hunky male, don’t get me wrong. But his goofy personality makes him stand out from the previous books. Another reader describes him as having “golden retriever energy”, and I think that’s the perfect way to describe him. Ella is the grumpy one in this story. She’s a mechanic and super tough broad. Tark is the sunshine she never knew she needed. As always, the alien spice is out of this world!
ARC Review
Bonded to the Alien Rogue by Krista Luna is a steamy alien romance. It's the fifth book from the "Fated Mates of the Zaarn"
series.
This one is about Tark, the sunshiny alien mercenary who was always happy and supportive. His newfound mate was Ella, an untouched and quite grumpy human female who had been betrayed in the past. They couldn't have been more opposite as characters but they were a perfect couple.
In this book, I have the feeling that the female character was more dominant. Like she was the one who saved the day multiple times. Tark was protective over her but he had a more supportive role without losing his sexy masculinity. I loved that he knew she was the one for him and never doubted. My favorite scenes were when Ella fixed things the aliens couldn't and
when Tark showed her how much he loved her.
If you are a fan of steamy alien romance books then this one is definitely for you. I will rate it with 5 stars.
Another great edition to this series.
The characters were fun. Despite Ella’s insecurities, she was tough and confident in who she was. She was determined and intelligent and ready to just ignore the unimportant things. Tark was the sunshine in this grumpy/sunshine story, and he was totally experienced in dealing with grumps. So he very quickly got under Ella’s thick skin.
After rescuing Ella from those gator aliens, which she was already in the process of escaping from, Tark is completely enamoured with his new mate. So being stuck in a tiny ship with her was just fine. And then he goes about wooing the f out of her on a beautiful alien planet complete with giant butterflies and flowers. Followed of course with a daring espionage adventure.
These two worked perfectly together, both experts with machines. The mystery/conspiracy with the Grug aliens continues to keep me intrigued and guessing. With beautiful world building and perfect pace, this book was a great read.
One night is all it took for me to consume this amazing book. The 5th book in the Zaarn series is another wonderful read.
It does start out a little clunky, maybe just due to the background and buildup, but past chapter two, it is a great story. We meet another ARK 1 survivor, who has been taken captive. The rescue is immediate, and successful due to the work of both the FMC, Ella, and MC, Tark.
Ella has some issues, and Tark is a total sunshine character, and they both help each other learn to listen to themselves and trust people again. Krista has a way of writing that the romance is sweet, the plot is there and developed, and the spice is 100% on point.
This series has continued at a solid pace, and I cannot wait for the next one in the series!
This story was so sweet and happy, with only a little scary thrown in, that I found myself smiling while reading! Tark finally finds his fated mate, and she is perfect for him! Ella is a mechanic and has an intuitive understanding of how machines work. She had a rough time back on Earth, so she has many emotional scars. Luckily, Tark heals them all. I loved their time among the flowers, and Tark is the cinnamon roll to end all cinnamon rolls! The Tula Syndicate and Grug cause issues as usual, but this leads to unexpected alliances. Visiting with the couples from previous books, and their adorable pets - plus a new pup named NeeNee, makes this series feel like I am spending time with family. I just can’t get enough of the Zaarn (and their spicy buzzing tails!)! Thank you, Krista, for your wonderful characters and interesting worlds! You always deliver an excellent story!
Yeah, Tark finally has his mate. He is basically an oversized blue puppy on steroids love him. That aside he is also skilled, intelligent, kind and while he does have a serious side he doesn't always let it show that much. You could be fooled into thinking that he doesn't have one but the way that he goes persues Ella, to show her how he feels and what a life with him as his mate would be like, just shows the thought and care he keeps hidden. He just is a complete sweetheart. Ella is understandably hesitant when a huge Zaarn announces that she is his. A lifetime of bullying and past hurts have left her with insecurities. It's not like she can hide given her height so she puts up a front. One that is slowly crumbling when faced with a cinnamon roll of a Zaarn. I read it start to finish in one evening. I could not do otherwise. I loved it.
Book 5 doesn’t disappoint in this action-packed continuation of the Zaarn and their fated mates.
Ella the FMC was kidnapped by the Tula and rescued by her fated mate Tark. Tark is a fun-loving engineer who we have seen in previous books, I’m so happy he found his love. She’s an extremely tall mechanic with a grumpy side, and he is very much her “sunshine”.
The over arching story is getting intense, the Zaarn are attempting to gather more intel about the Grug (evil ruling aliens that horde tech and have a hive mind). Is there going to be an all-out war between the galaxy?
I love this series; it is cozy, adventurous, and everyone gets a space pet. It’s like Indiana Jones in space with hot aliens with knots 🪢.
The HEA is always the sweetest, I love falling in love with each couple ❤️.
Oh my goodness! What a story. Tark is one of the sweetest alien men I've read about . He's head over heels in love with his fated mate and makes no fight about it. He recognizes her grumpy yet intelligent qualities and independence. He protective with out being overbearing. Ella is a grump but only because of past hurts. Once she realizes Tark's sincerity, she open herself to him completely.
There's an on going story line through out this series with the Grud aliens. I love how each new book has the humans and Zaarn warriors overcome each obstacle that leads them to their fated mates despite the Grud.
Love the characters, plenty of steam, drama, danger, adventure and action., very entertaining and will make you want for more.
you ever heard of the phrasing "an eager puppy"? you will see Tark next to it.
Ella is trying to escape the aiens who abducted her. when she's sure she's succeeding (hoping to at least), she runs into a different sort of alien. one who's blue, has horns and tells her they are married. Right? could have fooled her, she never said "i do", so why even married?
As Ella and Tark have to work together to escape, things don't go as easy as neither of them wanted. however it does show Ella different sides of Tark and the longer they are together that married status doesn't sound so bad.
You want to know how they get their HEA and how the battle against the Gurg is going? pick up this next instalation of this series and enjoy it just as much as i did!
loved it !! love this series !! love Ell-Laa and Tark... they are perfect for each other... this is their story..a fast paced action packed drama... and love Neenee...Tark is on a mission , sent to the Abyss... to stop the Grud... there's a hyo-man in the area and he must rescue her... she might be his mate... Ella is on board a lizard ship, working in the engine room..not by choice.. when, she tries to escape , she runs into a blue alien that says " she's his wife" really ? she's the grump and he's Mr. Sunshine... so good !!! just loved this one so much !!!
Omg. <3
This book like all the others in this series was amazing. Tark is all sunny and happy but vulnerable as well. Ella is his perfect match in the grumpy kind of way but is exactly what Tark needs in a mate. It was awesome to see Ella and Raxnor interact as both are grumpy people in general. Of course we get all the a ton, suspense, thrills and spice as well as reoccurring characters from previous books and of course the pets which is always one of my favorite things about Krista's books. So good. Can't wait for the next one as I think the Captain totally deserves a sassy mate.
Accepted For Who She Was
Ella was a big girl and with the cruelty of kids she was made to feel it her entire time in school. As a result, she hardened her heart and put up a concrete wall. After being held captive by the Grug and forced to workin their engine room, Ella came up with an escape plan. Only Tark, a massive alien came to rescue her and she just happened to be his fated mate. The couple go through a series of adventures, along with a robot puppy that was so adorable. It takes danger and more Grug along with a team of friends for Ella to realize how much she loves Tark and to truly open the walls she has shielded herself behind. I loved it!
I think this might be my new favourite book in the series!
It had everything I love about the Zaarn books, fated mates, a daring mission, space pets, and lots of sweetness and spice! But I also really related to Ella's character. The not trusting good thing because of past hurts, the doubts about why Tark would want her, and her grumpiness as a defense mechanism. I loved seeing her grow and heal and accept the good thing that came her way!
Of course the book also had an exciting space mission and the introduction of a new space pet friend and a chance to catch up a bit with past couples. It's exactly what I've come to love about the series and I'm excited for more!
I loved this story. Tark finds his fated mate as a mechanic for the Grug and is forced to work in the engine room. I love that Tark accepts Ella as she's a big beautiful woman and he starts to heal the emotional scars she got from crewl kids. Tark looks at Ella and tells her "You are the treasure I never thought to find, my soul's breath. You're more precious than all the riches in the universe." So beautiful. I loved the characters, the storyline, and the chemistry they have just sizzled. They get adventure, action, danger, suspense, humor, passion and love. I loved everything about this story. Looking forward to the next book.
Tark and Ella's story is so sweet and romantic and full of adventure. Ella is forced to work as a mechanic for the evil lizards but she has a plan to escape. Before she can act on her plan, in comes Tark to save the human female who he finds is his mate. Tark is ecstatic that he has finally found his beautiful mate. Ella has had a hard romantic life which is basically non existent so she has a hard time initially believing the handsome blue alien wants her. It doesn't take long for her to believe in Tark and love him. Now they just have to get through some unexpected roadblocks before they get their happily ever after.
