THIS BOOK…
Allow me to tell you about this book. Because…vampires? Good. Victorian romance? Good. Smut? Good. It’s all good guys.
As ever, Kate breaks our hearts. I knew it..I knew she would. Why do you do this Kate?! Jk, I love you. I’m not going to spoil it, but suffice it to say, bring your tissues.
I lovingly was entrusted with this book as an arc from Kate and am part of her street team, I will promote it until I no longer have breath to do so.
I literally read this book in a day. ONE DAY. That was quicker than fourth wing..imma just sayin.
Can’t wait for book 3. Rip my heart out some more, Kate. I AM. READY.

Just when i think i couldnt be more obsessed with Kate… she writes this book.
The dialogue between Henry & Eliza is top tier. We love a sassy queen, and Eliza loves to challenge Henry any chance she get. Give me romance, period piece, and vampires and you have this book.
And the SPICE. Ma’am… you didnt need to start ON CHAPTER 2. But we love a vampire (man 😉) who is all about making sure his woman gets her “needs” taken care of first. 👏🏻
I cant rate this book high enough. When Kate goes all famous on us I’m going to be so proud to say I was here at the beginning 👏🏻

Here is the damaged, morally gray man that I love! Henry...oh dear, sweet, emotional mess Henry, how I wish I could have crawled into the book to hold you while you got your shit together for Eliza.
Speaking of Eliza, she was the spunky, bratty girl that Henry needed to pull his head out of his ass and admit the truth about how he felt and his life.
The end, though?? Kate, how you wound me. I need the third book right now, but this one isn't even published yet! I appreciate the chance to ARC read this and absolutely cannot wait for book 3 to be done.

Absolutely phenomenal! I didn’t think anything would bring me back to life after The Vampyre but this absolutely healed me! The chemistry between Henry who is really Adam & Elizabeth was outstanding. I never like the FMC & I was so drawn to Elizabeth and her feisty yet non judgmental very understanding attitude. Although Adam did some horrible things in the first book I loved him so much as Henry that I let it all go after watching the way he cared and loved for Elizabeth. The spice was perfect, lots more than the 1st but still loved every scene. This and the Vampyre are so intertwined and connected but somehow the author has given each book its own voice even thought it’s like one big story. This story had a completely different vibe than The Vampyre and not only was that surprising but it made me love it even more.

I loved this book with my whole heart. I read it feverishly because I couldn’t stop or pace myself. It’s that good! The characters that Kate has made in this series are written so well and the story is superb. In this book, you get to meet Elizabeth and Henry and they explode together like dynamite. Did I mention that the spice in this book is next level?? Holy moly! When the scene starts to get hot, it does just that! So get ready to fan yourself… it’s warm in here! The dialogue is written to perfection throughout and the story is so gripping that I didn’t want to ever reach the last chapter. Recommending this book is an absolute No-Brainer. And hands down, It’s a six star book and it will join the list of books that I will recommend to everyone from here on out.

As a return reader, I packed my bags with extra tissues before embarking on the journey that is The Vampyre’s Secret, because I knew I was bound to be taking another trip to (S)PAIN — it’s a guarantee with this author, but you can be certain it comes hand in hand with beautiful writing, vivid imagery, and a story that you won’t be able to tear your eyes from.
Also, she SPICY. Kate took the delectable meal that was book one and threw in a whole bunch of chili peppers, and I’m all the way here for it.
This is an author to watch, I’m telling you.

This book was SOOO good.
The storyline was engaging, and the characters were well developed.
FMC: Elizabeth/ Eliza
Eliza is a redhead, aka strong-willed and sassy! She has a smart mouth and quick wit that made me laugh. She’s smart, determined, forward, and endearing - I immediately fell in love with her.
MC: Mr. Henry aka Adam
I really didn't think I was going to like him, because in book one I hated him! But seeing the story through his eyes was so amazing. He is the perfectly damaged, morally grey kind of guy I love. He went through so much trauma, but it just made him a better guy.
I loved seeing the characters from book one again. I also liked the villain. I really need more of him! Kate, please write us a book about the council and its formation!
Overall, this book was just so good. I couldn't get enough. I wanted more. And that cliffhanger was to die for.

The Vampyre’s Secret is the second book in the The Vampyre Trilogy. As I always like to warn, this is an erotic dark fantasy romance, so please check your TWs.
Elizabeth Fraud, the autumn goddess and our FMC is a force to be reckoned with. 5 years earlier she was promised to the vilest of men and as you can guess our Eliza was not having it. So, what does any respectable lady of the upper class do? Well, we runaway and become a lady of the night. Eliza, finds herself going from brothel to brothel, running from her past and ruining her future. On the run once again, she finds herself at a fine establishment of her current occupation. The Madame of this brothel takes one look at Eliza’s disheveled state and turns her away. But, don’t fret…the mysterious, devastatingly handsome, Henry Cain, offers not just to pay for Eliza’s time that night 🥵, but to also whisk her away to his country estate.
Now, she must trust this devilish, beautiful man to protect and keep her secret safe.

The spice in this book was spicingggg. Henry Cain has my heart and I will not be asking for it back. He was giving all the feral, touch her and 💀, daddy vibes and I was living for it.
The development of these characters 😮💨 and the in-depth trauma that they both suffered was more than enough to have me raging at Kate for writing such a beautiful tragedy. I cannot express how happy my heart was when my favorite side characters from The Vampyre graced us with their presence once more in this sequel. Horris will forever be zaddy and Filip can be my weekend booty call.
This ends in a CLIFFHANGER and I don’t think I’m ready for the soul reaping I am sure to get in Book 3. 🥺

HOLY COW! I'm just going to say a few thing about this book cause I can't find the words to describe how amazing The Vampyre's Secret is. Kate is a genius! I am 51 years young and I have read my fair share of vampire books. The Vampyre and The Vampyre's Secret is at the top of my list as the best books to read in this genre. If you want heartbreak, touch her and die, found family and all around emotional roller coaster read these books. I can't wait for the next book in this trilogy. I have no doubt at all its going to be great. I believe anything Kate writes is going to be something great and I will keep recommending these novels.

Redemption for an unredeemable character is WILD. I can't believe I like this man. Lmao, I told Kate for months I would not like book two because of which character from book one it was about (trying to remain spoiler free). Anyway, she worked her spicy mind magic again, and I loved this. Le sigh.

She comes from a rich prominent family that has promised her hand in marriage to a dirt bag of a man. But of course like any rational person she’d rather not and so she runs away and becomes a lady of the night😌
She finds herself having to run from one brothel to another in oder to outrun her past life and the fear of being taken back to an unhappy life.
It is in one of those brothels that she stumbles upon our gorgeous but very mysterious MMC Henry Cain, and not only does this man offer to pay for her time that night but also plans to take her with him to his estate😏
And so their story begins! Full of love and lust and all things fire our beautiful Elizabeth begins to notice that not everything about the estate or its owner is what it seems. What is Henry hiding? Why doesn’t he ever share a meal with her? And what’s lurking in the shadows of the estate?

First, I want to thank Kate Kimbrell for this ARC because after reading the first novel, I become absolutely obsessed with this series. The Vampyre was the first vampire novel that I read (on my own will) after claiming I’ve never read a vampire novel. Never say never, because still so impressed with the authors work.
Review:
I really enjoyed this novel. I love how the plot keeps thickening, keeping you on the edge of your seat and I really got into it around the 53% mark. I knew there would be no HEA and the ending still surprised me. I’m NEED to know what the epilogue means. I’m desperate!
The main reasons why this wasn’t a 5 star read for me is because 1.) it was a bit repetitive compared to the first book. I would have loved to see something different with these characters and a little more tension between them in the beginning given the depth of their backstories. 2.) The characters didn’t really feel Fated to me in the way that William and Rose did. It felt more like infatuation given that their relationship mostly surrounded physical attraction rather than emotional. And I realize that there will always be that physical bond and attraction between Fated mates, but I would have loved to see that emotional connection build overtime alongside the physical.
Overall, this was a great read and I’m so excited to see what happens next ❤️

This book brought SOOO much and more. The plot was consistently engaging, the characters were well developed and the world was brought to life. It was hot and intense. The main characters were full of spicy and sass. Elizabeth, the FMC, was everything. I fell in love with her wit and determination so quickly. I loved how it was it’s own story, but also touched base with the events of the prior book and brought in some beloved previous characters. It ended leaving me wanting more immediately.
Elizabeth is the sassy, fierce red head that I fell in love with so easily. She was strong willed and determined. The struggles she has gone through made her character so complex.
Mr. Henry aka Adam 🥵 I was hesitant at first about this man. Because from book 1, there are things that immediately make you hate him. However, seeing the story through his eyes is so amazing and unique. He pushed through so much trauma and it truly made him better in the end.
I loved the re-appearances of Book 1 characters. I think my favorite part was that book 1 worked into book 2 but they each had their own story to tell. It wasnt a continuation persay and that felt right.
And MAN, DID I LOVE THE VILLIAN. 🥵 I don't even care if he was a bad man. I need more of him. Maybe like a whole book about the council and it's formation *hint hint* 😜 Miss Kate, I am throwing out all kinds of ideas here 😅

After reading Kate’s The Vampyre I just HAD to read The Vampyre’s Secret, and let me tell you she did not disappoint!
Henry and Elizabeth’s story is written in a way that makes your mouth water and sweat drip. Eliza’s smart mouth and wit makes you chuckle, especially being that the book is set in the early 1900’s and you just know that her mouth is trouble. She’s forward, sassy, spicy, smart, and endearing - you will immediately fall in love with her.
Henry, ooooh Henry. The evolution of this character is beautifully written and captured in these pages. Early on you get a sense of just who he is and what it is that he’s hiding. He’s sultry and seductive.
Kate takes us through a dark, deep story set in 1910. It is every romantasy readers dream — twisted and gothic, vampires and supernatural abilities, and ooooh the spice! Just when you think you’ve got it figured out Kate takes you for a spin and immediately makes you rethink all that you’d been thinking.
A must read for my vampire loving, blood sucking, spicy, romantic, dark and twisted book besties. Get your hands on it October 31st!

✨ I don't know how to put into words what The Vampyre and The Vampyre's Secret have done to me. I don't usually read historical fiction, but when my book besties started raving about The Vampyre, I picked it up as well. Then I got super lucky to get to know Kate once I got on her ARC team and received "The Vampyre's Secret". Needless to say, she is now an auto-buy author and a friend and I'm so grateful for everything her brain puts out.
✨ There isn't a lot that makes me blush, but HENRY. CAIN. Ooooofffff. The *mouth* on this man. The chemistry between Elizabeth and Henry scorched my book pages.
✨ I felt like I couldn't breathe at parts of the story because I didn't know what was going to happen next and I was so sucked in. I don't want to spoil anything, but this was an excellent addition to The Vampyre Trilogy. I am very impatiently waiting for book 3!
✨ Pick up if you love: dirty talking men, women who talk right back, so many secrets, visions of *??????*, did I mention the dirty talk?, catacombs, secret societies, discoveries that make you say "WTF" out loud, and movie references

Eliza is not afraid to challenge Henry intellectually and sexually.. and I’m all for it 😍 But there are so lurking secrets that are just waiting to be let out🫣
If Henry will ever keep his hands to himself and answer her questions. He finds his past catching up on him quickly as he starts to figure out life with Eliza…
Kate brings the spice in this book to life🥵 the way he manages his control with her is 😮💨

This series is absolutely phenomenal. Coming into this book I had just finished Vampyre which was a 5 star read for me. Vampyres secret felt like a storyline bridge which is laying the groundwork for the rest of the book. The only reason this is a 4 star and not a 5 was it repeated to much of the last book for my liking. But I can see the amazing stage that has been set for book 3 and am looking for ward to it.

Kate Kimbrell has a way to hook you into a romance. She does so well at writing chemistry and attraction between characters. I didn’t want to like Henry, but in the end Kate had me convinced. She really takes her time in the beginning building the characters and romance so you are attached to them when the plot starts taking hold.

Am I the only one having a hard time getting past what he did to his sister? I don’t think any of the justifications for it are good enough. It took away from the story for me. I was hoping he was under mind control or something like that but he allowed it because he was beaten down by a crazy girlfriend?? None of it added up. Come on, the author is asking a lot.

I simply loved this story just like the first book The Vampyre! Victorian romance, vampires, fated mates and smut! The authors writing is impeccable! This book is perfect! Great storyline and characters! Highly recommend! P.S. Who is Henry Cain?

AMAZING
Wow, Kate did it again….
I really enjoyed seeing Henry and Eliza’s story. It was vastly different from the first book. We got to see some old characters and learn about plot holes that were left from the first book. Well done!

I signed up for this arc, and I'm leaving my honest review voluntarily.
Honestly, I'm shocked.
These books were so well written that it's crazy. I was instantly invested in the characters. The plot is absolutely fantastic, I read this book nonstop until finished. Only to finish it and sit here begging for the last book to complete me.
I laughed, I was shocked, I screamed, and my heart hurt all while panting with the spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶.

Henry and Eliza are everything! Eliza really gave Henry a run for his money with her sassy, but Henry took it like a champ.
The twists and turns within this dark romance vampire book kept me in my toes!

This book has everything you need in a spicy, dark fantasy, Vampire read.
There is such great dialog between the MMC and FMC as well as some returning friends from the first book in this amazing trilogy.
Henry and Eliza are Fated Mates. Both coming from dark beginnings and growing together, overcoming, finding love and stopping at nothing to preserve each other's goodness.
Highly recommend this series to anyone with a strong heart, and a bit of a vampy problem!

Going into this book, I knew I was going to be WRECKED. Kate has mastered the ability to give you a spicy dark romance that completely destroys your soul.
Henry and Elizabeth had immediate chemistry. Kate gives us our first spicy scene in chapter freaking TWO!
You fall in love with Elizabeth immediately because of her spark and grit. And then Henry makes you fall in love with his sexy words and protectiveness.
Once I got about halfway through this book, I could NOT put it down. It escalated so quickly and just kept me hooked until the end!
