Once again, Takashi and his friends are without shelter and on the run. The group gradually makes their way to the local police station, where the hungry officers within give a whole new meaning to the phrase "police brutality." After tidying up, the team reloads and begins their search of the station: Rei for news of her father, and Saya for information. There may be one last chance for them to get out of town, but with Rei and Takashi's parents still unaccounted for and a throng of undead standing between them and freedom, will the friends be able to make it in time?!

You know, I really should learn to research series before I start reading them.

For those of you that don’t know, the author unfortunately became very sick during the development of this series and did end up passing away. The artist and production company collectively decided to not continue with the story so there is no ending. Which, given this is a zombie apocalypse story, is kind of fitting, if you really think about it.

They are become stronger and they can kill zombies as a team, that's good. But how pity to asami and Hirano...

What an abrupt ending! It was really sad that they couldn't reach to somewhere safe by the end. Such a pathetic way to end a story. I am sad.

Maintains the momentum of the previous volume, and continues to put our heroes in new and challenging scenarios.

Interesting depiction of Shell Shock as well.

So this was the last take... Comparing with Walking Dead imagining the show ended in half of season two or three. There was so much this could grow...

They escape the Mall, went to the police station and then to the school (finding Rei's Mom) along the way as badass as Rei.
There was no clarification on the love triangle; on Kouta and Takagi (the policewoman sacrifice herself and Kouta shot her). Finally we saw Marikawa (the nurse) being useful. Alice it's just alice. The dog as well.

This story could have at least have more 7 volumes. The school reunion with Rei dead; the all Rika story untold. We also don't know the whereabouts of Takashi parents.

About the Art - I enjoy it. I believe the boobs were a bit unrealistic. They all have Unrealistic big boobs, and even deformed pineapple boobs. It's just weird. What's more weird. Saeko Busujima has the following measures - 83-56-86 and believe, in the manga or anime - in no way those are 83. Nope. Oh Saya Takagi has 92-59-87 and Marikawa has 108 (J) - 62 - 94. I have search and probably these are the only ones I can honestly see being more "accurate". But 83? - Yeah I had to go check...

But no matter what, they were bad.
I also could see this show going a bit more far - there are very few instances of nudity - the only one was in the house of the friend of the nurse. All others, are ecchi.
So, what now?
Well, nobody gonna pick this up, because the author sadly died. The artist don't want to do it to honour his legacy but he also mention that he has another similar series called Triage X (Ecchi!)

I would like to see a TV Series please! With some Japanese models from Jav movies eheh. PLease!

Kidding aside, really enjoyed. It was most unfortunate that it had to end.

Love

Sad this series is over. But it was just as good as I remember when I use to read these from the library in high school.

Highschool of the Dead volume 7 contains chapters 27-29 and is a direct continuation of previous volumes. It's best to start at the beginning.

Rei and Takashi's group is on the move again in the search to reunite with their parents. The heavy focus is on the search and fighting hoards of "Them," but there is a fair amount of character development as well dealing with the fallout of last issue's events. Several team members begin to react or push themselves in new ways. It's a small step down from the last volume, but still very well done and balanced.

The biggest issue here is that the volume ends in the middle of a story arc. It normally wouldn't be a big deal but this is the point where the series went on hiatus a couple of years ago. Since then only a single chapter has been released (in Japan), so there's a big question mark on how long it will be before we see the completion and translation of the next installment.

Volume 7 is another good step forward for Highschool of the Dead, but if you are a reader that abhors cliffhangers you might want to stop with the end of the previous arc in volume 6 for now.

Oh Daisuke Sato, why's it gotta be like this. You write seven volumes of a fun (if fanservicey) zombie thriller, then, just as the story's cruising to a climax, you go on indefinite hiatus. Will Our Heroes escape their zombie infested town? Will they be reunited with their families? Will Rei's instability continue to deepen? Maybe we'll find out in five years. But in the meantime, the drawings of pretty girls fighting zombies are cool.

The issue with manga is that I go through 3 books in a day...

This is the end of the line isn't it? I don't see anything about a volume 8 =(

It is just as cliff hangered as it was with the anime cut off!

Loved them. Volumes 1-7 are very interesting and if you love zombies or maturity things on a manga book. You should check these out and hopefully they release the other volumes soon.
