"“The Man Behind the Man/ Looking from the Inside Out”, should not be disregarded as yet another tell all about what you see and hear of the fabulous life of society’s high regarded celebrities. It is also not an attempt to play victim or take others in as casualty, this is not my intention. I consider this to be my closure and my rebirth! This book is a notification of my story as I remember it. All of the events and experiences detailed are true and have been put down as I remember them. Some of the names in this book are of actual people and for the sake of those who remain dear to my heart some are fictional. For the truth in me, I am not interested in protecting the integrity or confidentiality of any of the various individuals who have shown no consideration for me. I am still somewhat stuck in the past and the only means I have had to find my way back is to look at where I have come from. It is time to let go of all the painful thoughts I harbor from the past so that I can make room for a better future. I spent half of my twenties and most of my thirties grooming one of my former best friends, Robert Kelly, for stardom, only to be left homeless myself in the end. So yes, resentment is still present. For years I have had a personal battle within myself for all of the decisions I have made along with the ones I have not made. Those left offended should consider this one question, “Have you thought of me?” The Man behind the Man is a pivotal testimony. Follow me on my pursuit of redemption. It is said, “The truth will set you free. ” Demetrius Smith Sr. May 20th, 2011 ªxHSLEPGy870515zv*:+:!:+:! Amazing story I'm so glad God called upon the man behind the man
I'm happy because you have found peace your a great person and glad I read book the music business is a mess I'm so glad that I didn't pursue this devil career I'm amazed what God can do
Very good read! Demetrius definitely gives you glimpse of the other side; how it was being on the road with R.Kelly and how he was from a young kid to now.
This book is a good read and defiantly give you an inside look of what R Kelly is all about. The author being a little to spiritual for me really started to lose my interest towards the end of the book with all this bible versus and talking about rkelly selling his soul to the devil, religious people crack me up with their beliefs but also become less of a reliable source. Robert is a sick man and anyone who really cared about him would seek therapy for him and not let it slide on some "GODS plan"
