BLURB:

One night.
No names.
No numbers.
Only a safeword, the three men of my dreams, and me.

That’s how it all began…so how did I get here?

After a one-night stand with three rough, brutal mafia men, my life changed dramatically. All four of us felt an instant connection with one another, yet they still left me in the middle of the night without a word. Months passed, and I never heard from them again. I thought they wanted nothing to do with me, and they thought I was safer without them in my life.

They may have been right.

Just days after we reconnected, their lives blew up…literally…and took me with it.

Kidnapped by someone they’ll never expect, scared, alone, and possibly on my way to being knocked up…I have a decision to make...

Fall in line and be the obedient, weak prey my captor expects, or be the wolf in sheep’s clothing my men need to finally take down the enemy from the inside.

I may not have been born and raised in their world, but I’ll be damned if I don’t prove it’s right where I belong.

With my men.

Eli. Renz. Isaac.

They call themselves The Trichotomy of New York. They are the Italian Mafia. The big men in charge. The Kings of New York.

And I, Violet Duncan, am their Queen.

*This is a mafia dark romance where the girl will end up with multiple love interests and doesn't have to choose. All of the characters are in their late twenties, early thirties. This book has content unsuitable for those under 18 and has material that some readers may find uncomfortable. Full warning on author's site.

Tough Love is the second book in the Trichotomy of New York series and picks up right where Rough Love left off.

As always, please check your trigger warnings before diving in!

Anyone who knows me knows I absolutely love Bex’s work, and they know how obsessed I am with her MMCs, and this series is no different. Renz, Eli, and Zac have me swooning and have done so since I first read Violet Craves last year. I love their relationship with one another, but I also love their relationship with Violet. They all love fiercely, passionately, and unconditionally, and I adore that about them.

One of the things I enjoyed most about Tough Love is that it's more focused on plot than smut, and that’s saying something because I freaking love smut, especially when Bex writes it. The spice that was in the book was still hot, but I enjoyed the world-building and plot more this time.

I highly recommend this series, along with all of Bex's other series, and I can’t wait for the next book!

First and most importantly Violet Duncan is a badass! The absolute shit she has to endure throughout thus book would break the beat of us. Her guys are swoon worthy and the journey of them lighting the world on fire to find her was perfection. While I am not to be easily moved to tears, Bex Dawn had me pulling out the box of tissues at points in this book. I was so utterly lost in this world that I literally dropped everything to read this in a single sitting. This story continues from Rough Love and flows seamlessly through to the next damn cliffhanger. It will captivate your heart and soul but let's not leave out the fantastic spice that is woven through. All this together and you have another 5 star read from Bex Dawn. Highly recommend this series but remember to check your trigger warnings.

As always, check your TWs/CWs before reading.

This one was a lot darker than I was anticipating. Not in a bad way, and from the previous book’s cliffhanger I knew there’d be some rough chapters. But wow did Violet go through it…

Tough Love was much more plot focused than Violet Craves and Rough Love before it. There was still fun, kinky spice but Tough Love was a more emotional journey that furthered some of the plot lines that has been sprinkled throughout the series / interconnecting LDS series.

BEX DAWN WITH THE SNEAKY “p.s this isn’t actually the last book” 😮 I’m so happy we don’t have to leave Violet and her men just yet.

Ps the little mentions of Gage and the LDS characters has me even more read for Prevail 😫

DNF I started skipping so much most of this book was Violet being kidnapped. I think it was too soon in their harem to test them like this. I didn’t believe that they had fallen for her as hard as proclaimed. The kidnapping and panic just drug on too long. Plus, I didn’t know the characters from other books and it felt like I should have to get more out of this story.

(I received an ARC for this book)

This book ends on a cliffhanger!

Trigger Warnings include:
mental health talk/Bi-Polar Disorder, gang violence, drugs, weapons, human trafficking, racial and sexual slurs, physical and mental abuse, gaslighting, kidnapping, child abuse past reference, death/murder, torture/branding, forced sexual acts, sexual orientation conversation/coming out, sexual kinks/BDSM, group sex, MM/MMM/MFMM scenes, BDSM, bondage, primal play, choking, spanking, degradation, anal sex, DVP, breeding kink, talk of possible pregnancy/bleeding in pregnancy

linked below, is my review for book one. I won't give a full review for this since it would be a giant spoiler. This is NOT a stand-alone!

My sweet loves. My sweet sweet, loves. Violet, Eli, Renz, and Zac have absolutely dug deep into my heart. Probably stole some pieces, too, the assholes. These men, the monsters they carry, have done their best to remain human. To avoid repeating the choices of others. But for Violet, they’ll let their monsters come out and play. Protecting her will always come first, worrying about their souls can be a problem for later. They’re only whole when they’re together. But a piece of them is missing. Their hearts are missing. Just thinking about the pain they endure makes my heart ache. But do you know what helped the pain this book put me through? The help they had. I get so giddy when my sweets are all together. Chapter 12 was the comedic relief I needed. (What we all needed.) I felt so spoiled having them together, being their lovely selves. I became a snotty mess when the pieces of missing hearts were found. Violet is a badass. Their Queen. (My queen!) ‘WWVODD’: What Would Violet Ophelia Duncan Do, my new mantra. This may be another cliffhanger, but at least my sweet babies are safe and all together.

we pick up right at the cliffhanger we were left with at the end of rough love and boy was i NOT expecting this book to hit me the way it did

•••if you’ve yet to read Violet Craves + Rough Love turn back now because this is NOT a standalone and MUST be read sequentially•••

Through out the book we see detailed POVs from all characters (which is one of my favorite things about Bex’s writing style) as they work through one of the hardest challenges their relationship will face, Violet being kidnapped.

violet my little flower💜
We got a glimpse of how head strong Violet is in the previous books but they do nothing to showcase the absolute warrior that we see her become in Tough Love. Throughout the book we see her face mentally and physically taxing situations and the entire time she is resilient in staying focused on when she knows her men will come for her, because she has no doubt they will. Violet is every bit the queen these men need and deserve.

my sweet broken boys🧡💙💚
these men are SUFFERING like going absolutely FERAL being separated against their will from their woman. they miss her, they feel guilty, they have QUESTIONS that only she can answer.
I was wondering if we would ever see any MMM action given the boys history and heads up - we do and it was even better than I imagined. 😉

while Violet learns to rely on herself and showcases her resilience during captivity the boys subsequently strengthen their relationships with each other.
I didn’t know i could see them connect any more than what they’ve already show us but they truly reach another level of intimacy and dedication to one another that made me super emotional.

speaking of emotions - the reunion was perfect.
written so delicate and balanced we see everyone back together again and each individual filling a piece/void for another person that they wouldn’t otherwise get without everyone there. these four were made to be together. they’re whole, together🖤

through out the entire book we also get to experience Bex developing side characters in the Los Diablos + Sons of Satan worlds. My favorite part about they way they weave in side characters is that i’m never confused by the additions or feel like i’m out of the loop - they only add humor and detail!
side note: I love you Dynamite + Dr Keller!!! 🥰

Tough Love took me on a journey i wasn’t expecting at all but this book was SO NEEDED (for me and them😂) and i’m so grateful for the growth + development i got to witness my favorite found family go through - it only makes me appreciate them, their stories thus far and what’s yet to come even more 🖤

Could not put this down!

If you are new to Bex Dawn, the Tricotomy of New York is an amazing Reverse Harem series to pick up with so much amazing spice but also phenomenal plot and extremel well developed characters.

Tough love is the third of four books available in the series and you absolutely need to read the other two first so that you can fall in love with Violet, Renz, Isaac and Eli. The first three books, including Tough Love all end on cliffhangers so make sure you have the next one available close by when you finish it.

Bex is hands down my favourite author, particularly because all the books she has written thus far weave through each other in some way. Her very first series, The Los Diablos Syndicate series has characters that are interwoven into this series as well as does her MC series where we run into our beautiful psycho Brass again. You do not need to read those first in order to read these but you should read them eventually because....her stuff is the bomb.

I received Tough Love as an Advanced Reader Copy and put it back in one sitting. Once again, ever since Violet left us in book two on the biggest cliffhanger ever, i've been paitiently waiting to see what her men do to get her back. And just like I expected; the burn the world down!

Tough Love picks up shortly after we left Violet in the second book after she is drugged and abducted in Central Park after having a wild time the previous day with all three of her men; Renz, Eli and Issac. Just like the first and second book, the storyline of innocent cafe owner Violet flows, is extremely entertaining and just downright SO spicy at times. This one builds Violets character though as the badass female main character that she is, who wont fold when things get tough and she is someone we want to root for. Violet has to endure the horrific scenario of being abducted and possibly sold into human sex trafficing. Be very forewarned that while these books are sexy and hot with multiple love interests, there is many dark themes that are explored that are not for the faint of heart.

If you are squemish about your trigger warnings then tread carefully as there is discussion about; Mental Health talk, gang violence, drugs/weapons, graphic language, MM/MMM/MFMM scenes, human trafficking, racial and sexual slurs, physical and mental abuse, gaslighting, kidnapping, BDSM, breeding kink, choking, spanking, degradation, child abuse past reference, death/murder.

Damn did I go through a roller coaster of emotions reading this novel. Bex does an amazing job keeping me on the edge of my seat and man did my heart break for the boys and Violet included. Please check TW/CW before reading. This book is darker than the first two.

Tough Love picks up right where that very cruel cliffhanger left off. Violet is unfortunately captured by Renz's sleazy uncle. Man do I hate this guy. And not only is she drugged continuously to be transported everywhere but she gets sent to his horrendous house where he keeps woman and children. And just when she thinks she can keep her hopes up and rescue all of them she is transported AGAIN to Diaz's house where the most god awful things happen to her. She is luckier than most but damn does it hurt.

As soon as Renz finally sub comes to his feelings and accepts her into his world, she is taken. Now he, Zac and Eli must do everything in their power to get her back. That includes making a deal with Achilles and working with whoever can help. Poor Eli, who feels the most goes through it rough. He is already dealing with his demons and this is making it harder for him to not loose control. But the bond these boys share for her is incredible. It brings out an even more protective side of each of them and their love for her grows even more.

Don't worry to much because Violet is a badass and she is strong. She may not have been born into the mafia world but she fits in just fine. And if you remember the little worry she has in Rough Love along with the little prank with Eli then you'll be screaming with delight at the end of this. I know I did. I'm even more excited that this isn't going to be the last book because I'm not ready to say goodbye to Violet and the boys yet but I also now need to read the other series with Gage and the Los Diablos! Thank you Bex for and ARC copy and for another incredible read and now a huge addition to my never ending TBR!

MFC: holy fucking strength, Batman. Violet is a bad ass bitch and I take back being annoyed with her last book!
MMC(s): my babies 😩 I love them so much.
Plot: 3/5

Would I buy a physical copy?: we’ve got one more book to go, but I’m leaning towards a definite yes!

Violet Ophelia Duncan. I know we JUST got out of the bad spot but Jesus Christ, her strength is admirable. Instead of bottling everything up, she leaned on the guys and didn’t shut them out. Make sure you pay attention to the trigger warnings!! Also, the news she received 🥹😍 I cannot wait!

Love love loved the scene between the guys! I also enjoyed Issac’s possessive claim on Eli during it. 😂 they kept each other afloat and didn’t let anyone go off the deep end.

The found family in this makes me emotional. Four people who needed a certain level and type of love have found it within each other and I’m not ready to say goodbye, I want their story to go on forever.

With that said, who tf got the drop on our bad guy?! Answers, I need answers!! Can’t wait for book three!

I am absolutely SPEECHLESS 👀

I am grateful to have found this author through TikTok and I have read quite a few books now (starting with the carnal expectations series) and I can safely say there is not one book this author has written that I haven’t enjoyed thus far.

This book picks up right where we left off from the book 1 cliffhanger with our poor darling Violet after being taken🥺 To say this book has been an emotional rollercoaster would be an understatement. Our poor boys Renz, Eli, and Zac stopped at absolute nothing to get their girl back- they literally sent out an army to find their girl😭.

Also can I just say our girl Violet was the strongest women. Given her horrible situation she did not let it break her, while also fighting to protect others like poor sweet little Bonnie (bless my heart). The reunion moment was EVERYTHING🫶🏼

I am so glad that these guys are getting ANOTHER (yes you read that right) book as I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them yet. I cannot wait to read the next chapter in their story.

Please check TWs before reading⚠️

Thank you so much to the author for providing this book for my honest review

This is the second and final full-length book in The Trichotomy of New York series. This book ends on a cliffhanger…but it’s not a severe as the first book. This starts off right where book 1 ends - Renz wakes up disoriented after chasing Violet through the woods. But Violet is no where to be found. Violet is kidnapped and we finally find out who is behind it all. Eli, Isaac and Rez are on the hunt and they’re burning down the world to get to Violet. I can’t wait for the next book because Violet needs some serious retribution. She has chosen her three kings, and after what she went through in this book, she deserves to be a queen.

TW/Tropes

Mental Health talk/Bi-Polar Disorder, gang violence, drugs/weapons, sexual orientation conversation/coming out, human trafficking, physical and mental abuse, gaslighting, kidnapping, torture/branding, forced sexual acts, sexual kinks/BDSM, group sex, MM/MMM/MFMM scenes, anal sex, DVP, choking, spanking, degradation, breeding kink, death/murder, talk of possible pregnancy/bleeding in pregnancy.

Tough love - Bex Dawn
First and foremost this is a  Trichotomy of New York book series and I strongly recommend reading in order. Violet Craves,  Rough Love, Tough Love. Please make sure to check TW as this book has dark themes.
This review may have spoilers from the first 2 books in the series will do my best to be spoiler free on this.
Holy crap. This book. We are back in the world with Violet, Renz, Zac, and Eli. Right as they have accepted her into their world she is taken. These men are BURNING down the world trying to get to her and bring her home.  This book had everything and more. In R.L. we got to see more of the men's lives and stories and watch Eli and Zac start to unfold this love that has been building for so long, and in T.L. we are spoiled with more MM scenes and a MMM scene that was 🫠🌶👌. Not to mention a DVP scene 🤌. There was so much amazing story in this yet the spice was still off the charts .  I am seriously so obsessed with these characters and am so freaking excited to see where they go!  Bex literally puts me in a chokehold

Well this series took a turn I was not ready for. I feel like this book especially needed a bit more of a trigger warning. Cause we went from like a dark mafia romcom style book to straight trauma.

Trigger warning AND spoiler warning, but this book has sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical assault. And whew it was a lot. I am thankful that, while it served to the plot line, the scenes were not overly detailed or overly gratuitous, we got enough to know what happened and how the character felt without it being too much. Which I appreciate from the author. I really dislike books that fantasize sexual assault. This did not. But I do wish there was a little better of a warning leading into this book.

But all in all, it was really good. It was tragic seeing what Violet went thru, and then also seeing the men falling apart trying to find her.

I'm still not into the pregnancy plot line. Again, it's personal preference though, so no hate.

I'm dying that we're ending on another cliffhanger. I need to know what happens now!

First off I’m so mad that there is another book! I totally went into this thinking it was a duet + the prequel. I was reading the authors note that mentioned it ended on a cliffhanger and I was like wait, what?! And then to find out the book isn’t out yet & has no release date 😩 anyway, I think the abduction of Violet lasted WAY too long! Any book where the FMC is taken can’t take them almost the entire book (86%) to get her back especially in a book with only 266 pgs. It just doesn’t make sense, there’s no progression in the relationship & it’s just background filler. The surprise pregnancy trope is also not my thing especially when the relationship is barely established. Also how do they explain to her sisters that she’s been gone for 25 days?! They are mentioned right at the beginning and turn just aren’t mentioned again. TBH the ending was also just not doing it for me, how do you kill off Matteo? Like that was her whole revenge plot. I don’t care about Diaz honestly. Is this better if simultaneously read with those other two series that the author keeps mentioning 🤷🏻‍♀️

My 3 star rating is based solely on my personal enjoyment of this part of their story. The writing, the characters, and the interpersonal dynamics were top notch as is always the case in a Bex Dawn book.

Tough Love starts exactly where the previous book left off - with Violet kidnapped and Renz unconscious. Of course Eli, Zac, and Renz are going to do everything in their power to get Violet back. Of course Violet has an inner strength that her kidnappers aren't able to break. My problem was that nearly all of the horrible things Violet experiences happen on page. I can handle dark romance, but reading a beloved character go through all that was ROUGH. And the guys aren't able to rescue her until 80% through. Then we are left with a cliffhanger.

I love these characters and I love the world that Bex Dawn has created. Charcters from her other series make an appearance which was fun. Brace yourself for a heartbreaking reading experience before starting.

I cried. Plain and simple, Bex made me cryyyy! Holy mother of everything. This book is on the dark and emotional side of things, some spicy too (hello MMM🫠😮‍💨), and oh so flippin’ good! Renz, Eli, & Zac gone feral will forever be memorialized. This story took a turn in a way I did not expect at all, and it made for the most unhinged reading experience I couldn’t put down. Violet isn’t a weak woman, she is a strong bad-a and she knows it. The best is the repetition throughout all of Bex’s books of having a chosen family. Blood doesn’t make you family, you can choose who makes up your family! The mentions of the Diablos boys, and the interactions with some other familiar faces had me smiling! I love when they work together & coincide. So excited for another book of these characters but I need answerrrrs! Dang cliffhangers.

Does Bex ever write a book I don’t love? No!

I’ve been waiting for this since the last book, the cliffhanger had me on the edge of my seat panting after the next instalment of this amazing series.

Once again I was blown away by the writing in this novel, Violet is such an enjoyable character to read and after getting kidnapped in the last novel I had to make sure her men got her back….they did ofc. Violet is such a badass character that I had no doubt she’d bounce back from the trauma.

The spice in this book like any Bex dawn novel was off the charts, this author never lets us down in this aspect. I loved that this series has in MM and Isaac and Eli were just too cute in this book.

I can’t wait to read the next instalment of this series!!!

Incredible writing and story telling but lack of development with Violet and her guys

I’ve really come to love Bex’s books but this one missed the mark a little bit for me. I’ve been anxiously waiting to for this book following the massive cliffhanger on the last book and I just feel like it fell short. Violet spent almost the entire book away from her men and while I did enjoy seeing her persevere and her men avidly trying to get her back, I feel like the book should have been twice as long so we could actually see them have a reunion and develop as a group. It says this is the final book in the series but the end of the book hinted at having additional books so I guess we’ll see. I’ll read anything she writes regardless!!

Violet went through so much in this book. This went from dark mafia to sex trafficking. So, a major trigger warning with book 2 is that if that is too much for you, you won't enjoy this book. Now, Bex did a good job with the way she wrote Violet handled the trauma. Quite tame to some other books I read. You really see her go throigh so much hut not completely breaking. Her men went through heaven and hell to get to her. The guilt ate them alive while they waited. I was surprised with their scene together... I enjoyed more her scenes than theirs because it just felt like the same conversation over and over while looking for her. I thought this was a finished series, and it is not. There is a cliffhanger, but it's survivable.

Ok, I love Violet and her men. Especially the strengthening relationships between her and Eli and her and Renz

BUT………

Is anyone else freaking out that Lina made an appearance!!!!!!
If you’ve read the Los Diablos series then you might now who this is. At least I really hope it is!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am so excited for the next book and it’s crossover character arcs with Los Diablos. Maybe one day we will get a Lina book? Her role was small yet critical and I can’t stop thinking about what her story might be. Thank you Bex for setting this absolute *gem* of information to coincide with Nyxon’s release.

I don’t know how she does it!

One thing I can say with absolute certainty is that Bex NEVER disappoints. I’m not sure how every book always tops the last one. With every book I can always feel like a character. The emotions this book gives me is so unreal! Violet is one bad*ass. She’s so freakin strong! The guys are top notch!

As always, pay attention to the TW’s. They’re there for a reason! Definitely drop whatever you’re reading and hop into the world of The Trichotomy! You’ll never regret it!

Tough Love is book #2 in The Trichotomy of New York series. This is a dark why choose. Make sure to check the trigger warning.

Bex just made my whole year with that PS!!!!

We pick up where we left off in Rough Love and God my heart was in my throat so much!!! Violet goes thru something horrible and it hurt my heart so much but she was still so damn strong. Renz, Zac and Eli fight for their girl and they had me absolutely SWOONING!!! I love how much they all love each other.

Dark and dirty, not for the faint at heart

Violet has been through he'll and back and cones through shining like the super star she is.

When she re united we her men and make a go of everything they worst happened. She is kidnappec and taken from her men.

After a long and tortuous days away, Renee, Zac and Eli fight there way to find her. The things she had to endure would break most but not Violet. She us the strength and beauty all rolled into one.

This dies end in a cliffhanger and I need to know what happens next.

This book….I liked a lot better than the first book. This writing is why I loved the prequel.
There is so much happening in this book. Needing to find Violet, is she pregnant, what is going to happen to her in the mean time. So many questions and I didn’t know if answers were going to happen. The ending shocked me. I so wanted true validation and satisfaction but it looks like Diaz took care of that first. I wonder if during the raid, they killed Juan; that would be a satisfying kill to read. I cannot wait for the next book.

Bex Dawn is such an amazing author. I've only discovered her these last two month but she's my insta buy and this addition is no exception. Throughout the whole thing I'm on the edge of my seat thinking what the next chapter for Violet and her guys.

We do leave off on a cliff hanger but it didn't destroy me like the last one instead there was so much hope. Its been a long time since I've had a book hit me like this ❤️ I already can't wait to for the conclusion ❤️❤️❤️

Book three in The Trichotomy of New York series. Just wow!!
It take a bad a$$ girl to get kidnapped, tortured and broken and still stand tall. Violet is holding on to hope. She know they will save her. They fine out she was kidnapped and there world crumbles. Felt like a bit more of a filler book then the 2nd in the trilogy should have been.
Was hoping for a bit more but still excited for the 3rd book. I know it’ll be a bit since this just came out.
Definitely check out the triggers, even though I’ve read more graphic books it’ll still definitely bring out certain feelings on topics.
All in all it was a good book.
There was some steam but obviously not as heavy as the first, you’ll have to read yourself to find out why that was though.

Things get super dark super quick in this book and stay that way for the majority of the book and it was tough to read, Violet went through so much and was so strong throughout it all determined to survive untill Renz, Elijah and Issac are able to rescue her.

This book really built up the foundations of everybody's relationships, and you could feel how desperate the guys were to find her

I can't wait to read the next book and see her heal and get her revenge!

Great book

This book is darker than its predecessor and I would recommend reading the trigger warnings at the beginning before starting it. That being said I thought this was a good book with an interesting plot. It added to the world that Bex Dawn has built which includes 2 other series as well as this one for the moment. This book is a continuation of the previous book in the series. Overall, it was an interesting read and I can’t wait to read what happens in the next book.

I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to find out what was gonna happen from the last cliffhanger…& so I finally get answers but it was hard. Our crew goes through some hardcore stuff. & it was rough to get through, I felt for them hardcore, but it was all worth it in the end with theeee…s3xy times 😏😏 but I’m happy they’re getting more to their story. They deserve it after this one.
