Finding out your serial killer dad wants you to un-alive your boyfriends … Well, it sucks. Even worse if one of those guys is lying when he says he loves you. The worst when two of them are lying to your face. If all three of them do it … game over.
I might be known as Gamer Girl, but I wasn’t prepared for this. Choice and betrayal. Romance and death. Mostly, consequences and hard truths. Coming out of this alive will be a miracle; surviving with my heart intact is impossible.
Oh, and my summer vacation? Total disaster. The beginning of junior year? Complete nightmare. My wedding … it’s a bloodbath. Maxx, Parrish, I thought you guys had my back?!
Whatever. Romance is so overrated.
Fresh graves will be dug in Medina; the body count will be high. New players will enter the game as the stakes rise, a crescendo of opulence and violence. There are actions I’ll take that I should’ve taken from the beginning, actions that will turn out differently than I ever could’ve imagined. Who wants to help me catch a serial killer?
Checkmate, Dad. It’s game over.
GAME OVER BOYS is a 346,000 word love-hate/high school romance with suspense/thriller themes. This is a reverse harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book four of four, and it completes the series.
C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.
She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.
Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.

This author NEVER meets her deadlines I don’t think she has ever released a book when she says she will
Ok so if I have to read 1 MORE millennial put down my god it’s actually annoying might of been a tinge funny the first joke but now it’s overkill and kinda ruins the book 🤦🏻♀️

Well this was a long finale. I’d rate this 4 stars except for a few things.
~ There is continuing jealousy and lack of cohesion in the harem, by Book 4 this shouldn’t be happening. There’s a clear favorite for the book, Chasm.
~ The sex scenes felt awkward and the guys kept interrupting each other but not in a good way. It’s like they have individual sex with Dakota, but together. I guess I prefer when the guys work together.
~ I really missed Parrish in this book. He was only a side character with some one liners thrown in. Chasm was the clear favorite with Maxx a close second. We got plentiful prose about Chasm being her best friend, her everything, he was her husband etc.
“Of all the people I could’ve lost, of all the people I did lose, somehow I know that Chasm’s death would hurt the most.”
~ I don’t like when only one of guys gets married to the heroine. It might not bother some people but it always sours the romance for me, especially if the heroine flaunts it. In this case both Parrish and Maxx were unsure where the relationship was going after the marriage to Chasm, and Dakota did nothing to reassure them, she was all about Chasm being her husband. Parrish gave his ring to Dakota, Chasm took it off and she said nothing.
“In that moment, I promise myself that I will never marry another man—no matter how our story ends.”
I want to go back and read the start of parrish and gamer girl’s relationship because yeah, I really missed that from this book, but knowing how it turns out, maybe not?
IF you’re not bothered by favoritism in the harem, personally I am, then it’s a good read with plenty of twists and turns.
So I downgraded my initial review from 2023 from 3 to 2 stars because I’m still pretty disgusted with this final book, can’t be helped.

I would have given this three stars but just felt it wasn't merited. Everyone waited a long time for this and frankly I found it to be way too long and kind of redundant. A lot of the same things kept happening over and over and over. I am glad the series is finally done but the earlier three books were so much better.
I’m really on the fence with my rating for this one. I’m going to go down the middle and say 3.5 stars. The story was really interesting, kept me invested from book 1. And of course CM’s writing and characters are great and enjoyable.
But this book could have definitely been half as long, it has so much filler it felt like. Lots of slow parts and just repeating the same stuff over and over. I had to put it down and come back to it a few times just because I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over again. Also if you’re going to have a series where your MC fights a main bad guy the whole time, you need to find some balance. Give your MC’s some win’s, if the bad guy is all powerful and the MC always fails to ever make any progress to beat him, that gets really boring and makes your characters seem really stupid. This I think was the most frustrating part for me. I expected by book 4 that Dakota and the group would finally know their enemy, know Justin’s tricks and be able to get ahead of him at least some what. But even by the end they are still just completely blind and it’s wild how they could just never get even one win. Another thing that was tough for me was that the harem never really settled into a comfortable vibe with each other. Which I thought was weird since they are all such good friends, but there was still so much jealousy in this one and a lot of focusing only on Chasm. Even in the epilogue, it didn’t seem like they had figured out their group relationship. And speaking of the epilogue, there was not only a cheap attempt to make readers think something bad happened which is always pointless imo, but there was a weird open ended scene that left things unresolved but in the author’s note she says she has no plans to write anything more with these characters. So why?? Just why?? 😂
Overall I did enjoy the series as a whole I would say, but not my favourite series from this author.
I have no skin in this game because I stopped reading this author like a year ago. But I'm still in her FB group for whatever reason and seeing all the drama between her cult like fans and the readers asking for updates on the book has been extremely entertaining lol
Like it's just messiness from everyone, the author, her PA, her readers (on both sides) CM and her team are just handling it in the worst way possible and the readers are trying to play out the Civil War in there. Kind of want to see how long everyone can keep this up.
P.S. don't trust a release date until the book is actually in your hand or on your kindle, and this goes for a lot of authors
This should’ve been a trilogy. I skipped, like, half of it? Maybe more? Same with the 3rd one. I almost dnf… but I took it personally and had to read the ending. Also: Dakota’s thoughts are CONSUMING. Oh, my, God. Girl spent almost an entire chapter just thinking… and nothing was essential for the plot. I loved her as the heroine, but damn girl… The series was good. But the author kept dragging and dragging the story and… well, I struggled to finish this one. PS. Also the kpop/korean references & mentions to her own work? Uh. Too many. After reference 16372 it got annoying.
“Weren’t you warned about me, Little Sister? Weren’t you warned against all of us?”
I hate that its over but the journey was amazing! I generally love everything written by Stunich and although I struggled with the first book bc of Dakota's attitude, this series was great. It says this book is 1100pgs!! That's a lot BUT it felt like 100pgs bc I flew through it.
So, yeah, Justin Prior. He's kind of a jerk. If he hadn't beaten Dakota I would have rooted for him more. In lots of ways I liked him. He deserved his revenge and I liked his obsession with Tess. But he definitely puts everyone through it! I wasn't sure what was going to happen to him or if/who might actually kill him because they all wanted him. The big end? Perfect.
There were many romantic moments between Dakota and her boys which I liked alot. I was annoyed with Maxx at first but he got back on my good side, of course. I really fell in love with Parrish in this one! He never waivered or confused anyone about his love for her. He made sure Dakota and Chasm and Maxx and anyone else that may question him... He adored her and wanted to shout it to the world! He was super cute! Chasm was his normal sweet yet strong and he was always the one Dakota needed for comfort.
"It's game over, boys." Parrish 💜 Maxim Chasm
P.S. Amin Volli. For some strange reason, I was enjoying him. I'd like his back story. I kept thinking he reminded me of an adult version of Cal from Havoc with the way he was in the trees!
P.P.S. I liked the fact that these 16-19 year olds couldn't beat Justin without help from adults. They did a lot but realistically they would never be able to. Justin is a 36year old man who has been planning his revenge for ten+ years AND he's a genius. So when they admit that they can't do this without help from the grown ups I was very happy.
The series may be over, but the journey was incredible. Stunich's writing always captures my attention, and this series was fantastic overall. Justin Prior is a jerk with a troubled past and an obsession with Tess, but he had me sympathizing with him. The ending was perfect and there were plenty of romantic moments between Dakota and her boys. Chasm, Maxx, and Parrish all played crucial roles in taking down Justin, showing that the young adults couldn't do it alone against a genius. It made for a realistic and believable story.

Why does this book exist??? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????????? Couldn’t the whole series be shortened into a trilogy? This fourth book was so unnecessary.
Where to start? First of all, I’m going to address the Maxx thing. He was such an ass for like the first half of the book. I mean, I get that Justin threatened him and that he was coerced by still, he was an ass. Thankfully he and Dakota patched up later. I’m not really liking the romance though.
Speaking of the romance, why is Chasm the one Dakota has to marry? Chasm is great but he’s not my favorite love interest. I wanted her to marry Parrish. So disappointing. Also the wedding turned disaster was anticlimactic. By the time it happened, I was just reading for the sake of finishing the book and series, so it was disappointing.
This book felt so dragged out. Scratch that, this series felt so dragged out. I feel like there could have been less drama. Payback Princess and Endgame Romance totally could have been combined into one book. Just cut up half of the school and Justin drama. This series would have been a lot better than the trilogy. I couldn’t even enjoy the epilogue cause I was so ready to be done with the book.
Also, what is up with her teacher? The poet with a penance for blood? Mr. Volli? Why did he get to escape??? He was one of the killers. He was working with Justin for god’s sake. I mean, he did redeem himself a bit in the end but still, he was a villain for 99% of the series. What the heck???
Speaking of redemption, let’s talk about Delphine. Delphine really played the long game. I was iffy about her in the previous book cause she seemed like a good person but then did whatever Justin wanted and doted on him. Then during that final fight scene, she finally revealed that she hated Justin and tried to kill him. What a queen. I wish she didn’t die.
This was the worst book in the series in my opinion. I’m just so done with this series. Sure, I can see why people might like it but personally, I am tired and over it.

When I opened this book and saw it was 1100 pages I squealed! That's like 5 regular length books in my usual reading. All was forgiven for the epic wait after THAT almost unforgivable cliffhanger. The first half of this book was absolutely gut wrenching. You, and Dakota, didn't know who to trust and it seemed like she'd been betrayed at every turn. My heart was in my throat and my stomach was in knots. Without wanting to give any spoilers the second half was significantly less anxiety inducing with all cards on the table and no more secrets. The ending was kinda anticlimactic with a lot of the action off page but oh so devestating is the action on page and not knowing who would survive including Dakota, with lots of foreshadowing that even the heroine doesn't always get to live. I won't lie, didn't love the epilogue and its (thankfully false) insinuations and open ended ending. Would have liked to have seen more of a happily ever after for them all which would have made the very end easier to swallow. All in all, this series has had me in a chokehold since the very first book and I have loved the ride we've been on with Dakota Parrish, Chasm and Maxx that will love rent free in my mind forever more.
This is what happens sometimes I cannot say it happens all the time with this author because I am a major fan of her work however; as I said I was so excited for this final book to come out I checked nearly every week. However even though the beginning was gripping and everything seemed hopeless and you really did carry on being invested in the boys and Kota, I got 75% of the way through and boredom hit badly the story was dragging, and it seemed like it was constant loops trying to out smart Justin then failing then trying again it got boring and slow. Unfortunately I did end up skipping through and then ending was how I anticipated (no spoilers). I knew it was going to end up few more deaths then saw coming but final ending definitely what expected. Hopefully other publications from this author will not result in this cause as I say big fan just not of how slow this burned,,,,really author bot to blame but editor.
So, alright, this series has ended... My thoughts and feelings are just as mixed as they were when I read the previous book. I feel like I have a lot to say (at least, I have a lot in my notes, so lemme just check them and write down everything I feel is worth saying).
That's pretty much all I have to say. Overall, this series was tough for a lot of reasons. There was almost no room to breathe at all times. The second book was a clusterf-ck with its plot. A lot of irritating details - millennial hate, Dakota's supposed feminism, C.M.'s cookie cutter FMC, everything Korean and k-pop. And I genuinely like Korea and I'm a k-pop fan, but it becomes overused and cringy af. I get mentioning it once a book. Fine, maybe even twice. But not that much. Even if she was talking about my most favorite musicians ever, it'd become just as irritating. This series is in general full of constantly repeating thoughts and things (from FMC's blushing to each time characters take yet another L). Some triggering themes for me personally. Which is normal, I'm not a person who can break or even cry from trauma - I'm not special, we're just built a little different in my country when it comes to trauma and triggers, but the pressure was there, I can't deny it. I'm not allowing that to influence my rating for this book or my opinion about it. I wish the series was shorter, more realistic, with less victims (around 60 dead people just in the end, not counting everyone before is waaaay too much). Justin (the way he was written in the story) was too formidable of an enemy and just his presence in the story felt like a noose on the neck. Like it's always, always there, interfering with your breathing even at happy and relatively safe times. That's suffocating. Not fun. Not interesting. And that epilogue with the box? Give me a break... No, really. I need a break. I'll bury myself under fluffy books. For at least a month, because that pressure (and not-really-a-HEA) was too much.
This last book really puts your emotions through the ringer. The author really makes you believe the worst in multiple places only to fix it later on. Such a great ending to this series. I am going to miss Dakota and the boys.
First and foremost, I want to clarify that I don't care how long it took C.M. to write this book. We, as readers, are not entitled to receive books ASAP. C.M. is a fantastic author, and this definitely showed in this series! I absolutely enjoyed the first 3 books, but I really struggled with the lack of cohesion and HEA in this book. I have far too many questions and missed relationship opportunities for these characters, and it really feels open-ended to me. Regardless, I'm glad it's done and put to rest.
I waited FOREVER for this book and I’m honestly super disappointed. I loved the first two books, like stayed up all night called out of work to read them kind of love, but the last two just aren’t the same, especially this one. Dakota has the maturity level of roughly a fourteen year old and it doesn’t get any better in the last book. I will say, I didn’t expect some of the characters who d*e* to do so, but I also don’t think that all of the twists and turns led to something worthwhile. Parrish is my FAVORITE of the boys and I feel like he really takes a backseat here. I’m glad I read it, if only to know how it ends, but I’m so, so sad that the quality didn’t hold up throughout the series.
“That’s what a book is: a quiet conversation between writer and reader.”
This book was exhausting to read. It was about 600 pages too long. And that’s being generous. NOTHING HAPPENS in these books except whining about millennials, searching for technical bugs, hiking, unnecessary family members everywhere, dumb expectations around murder, and forced romance between Dakota and all her guys. And in the odd moments where things DO happen, they’re rushed and get cut off by a time jump. So disappointing. At about the 20% mark I was ready for Justin to just kill Dakota and get it over with. By the 50% mark I was practically cheering him on to do so! It ended… fine, but I was so fed up with all the unnecessary fluff that I couldn’t enjoy anything about the ending.

I loved it. I loved how long it was. I didnt want it to end. I loved the whole series. I'm still made about it mostly focusing around chasm and Dakota. She said that Perrish was her 1st loved and loved him. But there was barely any interaction compared to chasm. I wasn't happy that she married chasm either. I love chasm I really do but I loved Perrish more. He should of been the one to marry her or it should of been stopped before it did. And they just do a ceremony between the 3 of them since that all can't be legally married then none should of been even if I wanted it to be Perish. There wasn't even sex scenes really last couple of chapters atleast not in present tense. I didnt like that either. Regardless of that this was a fantastic series. I happen to think this author did a fantastic job like her other series. I was so happy to get the final book. Took While but it was worth it. Thanks C.M Stunich a master piece in my eyes.
Overall I loved it! A little bit different vibe than the first two. I had to take a mental break after reading the guys side on the wedding day. Just I have throw it out there that Chasm is one of the best characters Stunich has written 🤤🖤💚🖤
I can’t say more that. Read it. You won’t be sorry.
The total series ended up being nearly 3000 pages. I am in awe of the work, the dedication, the imagination of c.m. Stunich. I’ll reread this series many times. It’s so well written
Was this book worth the wait? Absolutely. Did I have to read all the spoilers because I’m an absolute trigger cry baby machine, and couldn’t crack it unless I was prepared! Absolutely. But let me tell you once I knew it was Safe to read, I COULDN’T put the book down. I’ve been on a sleep deprivation streak and it’s all the books fault. It’s all this author’s fault
From this point on it will be a little spoilery. I will say if you don’t end up reading the spoilers you’re not going to find out certain things about certain characters until about 40% into book. And this is a huge book, this may make it hard to connect with certain characters but I assure you it’s worth it. If you are a cry baby arse like me though, I would read the spoilers because it didn’t ruin the book for me at all. And I feel like you can avoid certain spoilers as they are kind of separated. I think Kota has to be one of my Favorite CM FMCS because she’s just so kind and true to herself.
In the beginning I found myself wanting her to be the one to “take care.” of Justin, but as I got near that point in the book. I realized why she wasn’t the one to do him in. She had something he didn’t have and that’s a heart and the ability to love and feel empathy. It’s against her nature to take a life and she stuck true to that till the very end. I love the men in this book, I think they are my favorite of all CM’s series I mean them and Scarlet’s boys. The only qualms I have is I felt like too much was thrown at us at the end of the book. Having to worry about Chasm dying or being permanently impaired for the rest of his life should have been enough. But then CM has us thinking that Kota ended up with only one of the boys. I wasn’t a fan of that, and would have loved those few extra pages to be solely dedicated to some lovey dovey moments between her and the men. Don’t get me wrong we get that, but I feel like we could have gotten more without us having to worry about anything else. Give us readers some room to breathe and unwind, you already took us on this crazy roller coaster ride of murder and mystery.
I will say I love that the ending was written in a way for their story to continue and I would love to read more with these characters. I was actually sad to let them go, so I’m happy that the ending is open for more adventures. If you are nervous about reading this book, don’t be it is worth the read.

Quotes:📖 I’m the lost daughter of a serial killer, but I’m so much more.
Thoughts: 💡 I wanted to love this. I waited forever for this book, but it did Not need to be this long. If you take away the inane inner monologues, needless grandiose explanations, and annoying breaks of the 4th wall this book would have been spectacular. One of my biggest issues is that the whole tone and scope of this book switched the story from romantic suspense to a “true crime/ slasher thriller” with an occasional mention of romance. For the most part when the relationship topics were broached it was directly in relation to the killer and the crimes happening. The final two chapters (the epilogues) are the bits that really killed my opinion on the relationship topics. There was no real context about how it developed or why their relationship evolved the way it did. The epilogue did this weird surprise reveal about what they were like in the future by trying to set up the reader to think something happened that really didn’t. (Trying not to drop spoilers.) My biggest complaint is that everything that happened in this story had to have a 1000 words dedicated to how the FMC felt in the future when she looked back on the events that were about to happen. (Sounds annoying right.) I kept reading because the plot and the characters were so interesting, but I was completely annoyed with so much of the book.
Writing Mechanics: ✍️ The language and phrasing waa engage and easy flowing. The grammar was fine with only the occasional typo. The characters were deeply developed, and the plot was incredibly interesting with some really great twist.
Important Note:✨ You need to read the first 3 books in the series before reading this one; but it is the end of the series.

Such a good series but I was a little disappointed with the ending. Epilogue shows characters several years in the future and they seemed to be in the same place emotionally. No growth whatsoever. It just seemed very rushed. Like author realized the word count was reached so book over. It was such a detailed and interesting story but a letdown to end the way it did. Plus, we are left with this quasi cliffhanger that makes you think there could be more but the author clearly says she’s done with this story. It’s feels like chunks of the story could have been left out and more attention paid to the ending.

I absolutely loved this series. This last book was so intense. I took a break, meaning I didn’t read it for a night lol. I finished the series in like 6 days. Just CONSUMED it. I love all this authors work. The epilogue could have been better. Like, I wanted more. Them all having a “wedding” and then the very end?! Not.cool. Especially when she says she doesn’t plan on writing anything more to their story. Why end it like if that’s not the plan?? Idk…I’m sad about the ending.

The only complaint I have is that the kindle versions need editing. Not for content because OMG THESE BOOKS ARE AMAZING, but for errors. There was a place where through was used instead of though, and places where there was a word that wasn’t needed (like an extra the). But seriously these books are at my top must reread!!!!
