The authors highlight the social, linguistic, neuro-cognitive, and academic advantages of bilingualism, as well as the challenges faced by English language learners and their teachers in schools across the United States. This book is painfully awful. It is redundant, poorly organized, and unclear. It was required reading for my Methods of Teaching ESL class and I really don't feel like I took anything meaningful away from this.
