Irish Coffee

Rate this book
Stranded alone in Ireland for what was supposed to be a romantic getaway with her boyfriend of eight years, Sadora was at the worst point of her life. Instead of the three-carat rock she’d dreamed of all her life, she received news that her man and her best friend were sleeping around and expecting a child.

Distraught and heartbroken, she drowned her sorrows in alcohol and a devilishly handsome redhead named Orin, who’d picked her size eighteen self up with no problem for an intoxicating weekend, turning her devastating vacation into a lust-filled one.

However, when it was time to say goodbye, her heart couldn’t bear it. She snuck out without a word, believing she would never see her fervent ginger again and determined to get her life on track without a man. But that was two years ago and now that same redhead is standing at her doorstep, except those greedy lips that once smiled and rained passionate kisses down on her are turned into a scowl, hell bent on making her and the secret baby she kept from him, HIS.

I like that this is one of those Lunchtime Chronicles books that introduces you to characters from the author's other stories. My problem is that Orin and Sadora are simply terrible and stupid. Sadora pays for her and her longtime boyfriend to go to Ireland in hopes for him to propose to her only to have it shut down by a sudden appearance from her friend with sonagram photos. After a Jerry Springer Show level confrontation, Sadora ends up taking off with a complete stranger, Orin, and having unprotected sex with him. Apparently, these two do nothing but have sex and Sadora is persuaded into doing things Orin's way with more aggressive sex; in other words, this is a sex driven romance with no real communication happening between them. At the end, it's just two hornballs jumping into a relationship in Ireland with a baby in tow. This may be be an exciting read for those horny for erotica, but look elsewhere if you are seeking a short story that makes a modicum of sense.

This was a 1-2 stars read BUT it was entertaining I must say. While it kept my attention, I had issues and that ruined my experience. Some books are so bad that they becomes good and this was one of them.

I love a nice drama filled book and this book had that. Picture it, you’re so desperate to be engaged that you PAY for a trip to ireland with your long term bf and while it’s happening, your best friend comes and ruins it by telling you that she’s pregnant and it’s your boyfriend’s. You’re “heartbroken” so you head to a bar and there you meet a nice piece of meat and he rocks your world and not only does he leave his mark on you, he leaves you with a child.

The plot alone had me very intrigued but the execution? not great.

Firstly, our FMC mentions that this relationship was over 7 years old and you would think there would be more heartbreak, pain, literally anything else but NO, it was immediately “I need some dick” and while i know some people use sex to cope with heartbreak, this was different. It felt like the FMC didn’t really care about the whole situation at the time but would later say it was devastating but was it? you wouldn’t get the impression that she was heartbroken but instead wanted revenge. That felt weird to me how fast she forgot about this relationship and seemingly moved on from it

secondly, I HATE when authors use irl references in their books. please stop it’s going to age the book BAD. there was multiple references and each time it was an eye roll.

another issue is the spelling out the words in the way we would hear from someone with an accent. example :

“Bloody feckin’ ’ell lass, who were you feckin’ before? Yer wee hole is tiny an’ adorable,”

as a reader I believe that we all would know that this man has an accent so we didn’t need that. It made the whole experience cringe and corny ESPECIALLY in the spicy scenes.. it ruined it completely like ew… a few words here and there would’ve been fine but EVERY SENTENCE? god, no.

the writing felt juvenile at best. too many issues and not enough solving them. i don’t want to keep ranting about a book with less than 100 pages but it’s hard not to. i wish this book would’ve been a tad longer as i feel like the pacing was off. we had too much happening and not enough pages to really do it justice.

long story short, this could’ve been 100x better.

That Orin was determined

Sadora Phillipps had the worst day of her life in Ireland when she found out her boyfriend was having a baby with her best friend. She did not expect to fall for Orin McCory in the pub, but she needed to forget. She spent a week full of the best time of her life with him. But she has to get back to her life and tie up some loose ends at home. She slips away leaving him, but the message is lost.

Three years later, she thinks he was just using her and has moved on with his life like she has with hers. Except she now has more of a responsibility to tend to. No one has ever captured her heart like Orin. But when her brother tries to hook her up with a friend of his, she falls out with him, and the hook up for interfering in her life. Luckily for her, Orin accidentally finds her after searching for her. He's determined not to let her go and will not take no for an answer. His Cocoa Bean is feisty and wants to live life on her own terms, but it turns out he never got her message. When the mix-up is resolved, all of the anger she has towards Orin is melted away when she realizes that Orin was just as affected by their one week together as she was. Now she, Orin, and Oisin can have that stable family life together that she has always wanted.

I loved reading this story. Orin was a little scary. He was very determined to claim Sadora as his. He was even more determined when he met Oisin. Oisin was so cute. His father came into his life just in time.

Loved Loved Loved Irish Coffee ☕️

I’m loved Orin that man was crazy and the bartender told Sadora but she didn’t listen. Sadora kind of got on my nerves at first until I continued to read till the end she is back to being good with me 🤣. I am glad they discussed the miscommunication for sure between them and the past because it helped shift Sadora’s perspective on just giving Orin the control. Because Orin was all about his Cocoa and her, Gideon, Ivan and everyone else needed to catch up. Their son definitely knew what was up he called his daddy coming to get them 😍.

Spoiler Alert🚨🚨🚨

Look here when Veeda threw that ice coffee she should have gotten those hands 🤣. When Kenndric told Sadora if she left they were over 🤦🏾‍♀️ I was thinking “umm sir I don’t think y’all together no more sir 🤣 “ he was a D-bag (I wish I could cuss in these reviews 🤣). I also wish Sadora could have gotten her hands on Veeda and blessed her with well deserve spin around the block for her disloyalty 🤣.

This book to be short definitely had its many great moments like I know author Rose Marie to bring. She is the reason why I love and want me an Irish man because Conner that’s my husband crazy and all in my head 🤣. Please continue to keep giving us these amazing stories.

Irish coffee coming up

Make me want to try an Irish coffee and see what it all about . What a book Ms. Rose done again and I’m was so blown away an about this book . The fact we got to see how Conner and Orin meet and how Conner came to those types of toys he loves lol. The fact that she did another book about a plus size woman is so much better and I’m so happy that she went into that route. I will be reading this book and her other plus book she did . I didn’t even care that it was short . She been doing so awesome job and I’m so proud of her for doing her thang and changing the game .

Screwing much?

You know what I am most sick of in these books, (I use the word loosely)? I am sick of these over weight women being screwed and dominated by mafia mean, hot tempered men. The only thing their big behind is worried about is having their backs blown out and the men being well endowed. He killed all those men for nothing with his mental ass. Another thing, you wrote a book about Connor that he already had a girlfriend that he loved so much. Why are all you men in your books mental health deficient? The only one had a little sense was Bennett and he was crazy.

Wow! Can we say Orin, the Alpha Supreme?!

OMG! This. Book. Was. HAWT!! 🔥🔥🔥 Do not play with Orin McRory. I refuse to spoil this book for other readers. No matter how much I want to. Rose Marie dropped another OUTSTANDING LTC book this season. The characters brought this book all the way to a whole new level. Orin and Sadora blew these digital pages up! This book is dramatic, sexy, funny, nasty good, with one of BEST HEA. It's Guaranteed to make you want to read it again and recommend it to a friend. Which I am.

Ginger please

Ice water needed! Love this story. The fact he straight up claimed his love at first sight. She was not ready for all of it at that moment when they first met. I liked how this little nugget of steamy goodness was written. A different style for sure, that worked. You'll have to read it to know what I mean.
I know some readers will be up in arms about some of the language but in it's truest context, he loves this woman with his whole being. A little edgy and barbaric maybe. But this is a fun, hot lovin' read.

Orin loved this woman

they met at an unfortunate fortunate time. she was leaving a bad relationship to run into a week long fling. she met this man who sexually stimulated her like she had never been. and the misunderstanding, she left a message for him, and because he is a high-strung Irish man, he killed everyone in the room before they had a chance to tell him where she went. and they were separated for 3 long years. both looking for the other with no luck. until one day... and that one day, turned into a happily ever after. loved this highstrung Irish man.

Sadora and Orin

I loved Irish Coffee!! Sadora with through the bad with her trifling boyfriend and so called best friend. And found her a good man a few blocks down the street. This book was definitely entertaining. I loved the chemistry and banter between Orin and Sadora. One of my favorite part was when Sadora went to handle her brother. I loved the story and recommend you read the book.

Loved!!!!!

I absolutely loved this short story. I found myself invested in the characters. The author's writing style was engaging, and I would be interested in reading a full novel with these characters. I absolutely love that this author writes books with domineering male characters. But love women who are strong in their own right but can bend to the right BOSS in their lives and melt like putty in their domineering partner's hand.

Orin and Sadora
I was feeling for Sadora when she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her with her best friend, and they were expecting. I like how Sadora hit her ex with chair I wanted her to get her friend for throwing the coffee on her. But when she walked into the bar an Orin saw her it was over the Big Blank energy he had had the pages turning and I did not want to stop reading. I will not spoil it but this book was the ****. 5 Stars and a bag chips.

Another great read

This was a great short read with Orin and his coco bean and I would love to see more from them in the future but I have to be honest the moment Baylor came into the story it was all over.I could just see Carter and orsion hanging out as kids like their fathers and causing all kind of tiny hell . Please please give of more of Connor and his beauty and all the crazy people that comes along with them . We need more Don Connor

Hot cocoa,

Nice fast and sweet,
I am starting to love Irish red head men.
Rose books make them sound so sexy, nasty, and dominant the perfect combination.
This was a good read , I love her the characters from ger other book roll over into the next.
Orin was a life saver, beibg there to seriously pick up the pieces after Saphora heart was broken by her scandalous ex and besty.
The ending was good , I was wondering what happened to that note...lol

Sadora and Orin

Orin is the MANNN. If you think Rowan is crazy over Violet then wait till you meet Orin. It's kinda his fault tho that it was three years since he'd seen Sadora. If he'd just have given his guard a chance to speak then...... I know Ivan was only trying to look out for his sister but he was crossing to many boundaries. I'm glad Orin found Sadora and their son. She deserved a happily ever after.💕💕

Never Fails

Rose Marie never fails to give you a good read and this was no different. Orin and Cocoa locked from the moment they met but misunderstanding caused them to miss time together. The misunderstanding revealed at the end took me out😮
Ivan and his friend were annoying. Pure audacity to continue to push an issue against someone’s will. Yet, people do this all the time. It’s a quick and fun read that you’ll enjoy.

It's the obsession for me!!!

Once again we dive into the world of the Irish Mafia. I love the the characters is this book. We even get a glimpse into Violet's world. This a fast, but evenly paced book. I'm a huge fan of this author. Definitely steamy. And the chemistry between the 2 is 💥💥💥💥💥. I am looking forward to the next book.

Irish Coffee

The more I read books by Rose Marie, the more I don’t want each book to end. Irish Coffee is not different. The book was fantastic! My only complaint is that it was too short. I don’t care if the story is 500 pages, I will still say, it’s too short.
Can’t wait for the next installment.

I could not get into it!

I usually a huge fan of this series, but this one left me lukewarm. Mainly because through most of the book I could not stand the lead female character. Girl get yourself together and use your words. She was just a little wishy washy with her brother, the man who was currently suppose to be in her life. She really needed to grow up.

I like the storyline and author but...

The writing with a supposed Irish accent was frustrating to read because the language was so broken. I will likely skip over any more books from this author that reference this accent. Otherwise it was a good story and I won't give it away. :-)

Something missing..

For a short story, it was ok. The dominance of Orin was not so much sexy as annoying. Just didn't come through for me. I loved what could have been between Orin and Sadora. The last chapter and epilogue was better than all the pages before. I loved Orin's love for his son. Orin's Irish brogue was too much! Ivan and Gideon were just ridiculous.

His Cocoa

Of course a red headed Irishman would be borderline stalker and obsessive for chocolate. Just think if he would have held his temper for only one minute he could've saved everyone three years of heartache.

Irish Coffee

So if you're ready for a sexy alpha male and his bold seductress, this is the book for you. Orin plays for keeps, and Sadora didn't quite understand that at first. Enjoy the not so subtle crazy that is Orin McRory!

Another banger

This book had me staying up until 1am reading it like I didn't have to go to work the next day. I love the Irish Don's universe and it was nice getting the story of Sadora and Orin. And their son is the cutest thing ever, Mayne even cuter than Mason.
