First of all, the title is incorrect. These are not short stories. They are two pages scenes of the boring life of Marta. She moves to an apartment in the city and random people on the street give her directions. She buys fruits and vegetables in a store. She goes to a meeting of people in her building. She meets some friends and they talk about where they might go on vacation. She goes to the library and gets financial advise from some random guy. She goes to the beach and has a wonderful day sunbathing. She has a picnic with her parents. She goes to the zoo. You get the idea. It's just a way to introduce vocabulary words. And to make matters worse, there were typos in the vocabulary lists at the end of the chapters.
Stylistically it was a mess. Nobody ever just says anything, most often they say it with a smile, "con una sourisa", sometimes "con enthusiasmo", or "con curiosidad" or worst of all "con amdbilidad". I kept hoping for a Tom Swiftie joke, but not. And just when I thought things couldn't get more boring, Marta feeds the penguins her chocolate bar, which sent me off to the internet to confirm that is a very bad idea.
There are better beginning readers out there. Duolingo has shown that you can write short, funny stories. Give this one a pass. Level is probably about A2.
