Oh, and the German title for ALEX is: DIE HALSUBERKOPFUNDKRAGENDRAMATISCHABENTEUERLICHE KATASTROPHENEXPEDITION DER ALEX MORNINGSIDE.
This book is so amazing I highly recommend to anyone who really enjoyed the video games. I really like Buddy and just loved the art work and I really liked how Buddy was writing to Dot. Super minor spoiler that I wouldn’t class as a real spoiler,
One thing that was absolutely amazing was when Buddy’s grandfather decided to go to the library and teach himself English.
I hope many others read this and enjoy it as much as I did.
I love the game and was excited to see they were making novels and graphic novels further exploring the lore that sets the world up. The art here is highly stylized and fun. The story is interesting, tho I don't find it nearly as horrific as the game is... maybe because its geared to the YA set (not complaining) I just felt the game was a very pulpy but dread inducing adventure and this only evokes that feeling slightly. Still, cool to know the backstory of one of my favorite characters in the game (Boris).
I'm a big fan of the game, so I was excited when I found out there are graphic novels.
The first volume follows Buddy as he gets a job at the Joey Drew Studios, but of course nothing is as it seems - it is set before the game but offers an insight into how the events of the game came about which I really enjoyed.
I will likely pick up further volumes to continue the story.
Cute and light read, exactly what something related to rubber hose style definitely can be! As someone who has only watched the playthroughs and understand the IP/lore this was a nice add. Was it perfect, no. Does it open more doors for even cooler stories to be told- I think so.
So dreams come to life it’s pretty good I like the story the characters are you know not terrible the illustrations where phenomenal and I think it’s canon and also when the new game the cage comes out I hope there’s a Easter egg of the Boris writing on the wall at the end but idk who cares 8/10
