Twenty-five years since the debut of the fan-favorite animated series, the original comic book adventures of Terry McGinnis return a totally schway all-new collection!
In 1999, fans met Terry McGinnis for the first time in the Batman Beyond animated series—a new Batman for a new era, mentored by Bruce Wayne and fighting crime in a futuristic Gotham City!
That same year, Terry made his comic book debut, encountering threats such as Blight, Inque, and the Jokerz!
These stories—including the unprecedented meeting between Batman Beyond and the Batman of the present—return in this massive compendium collection!

Grateful it's been printed, but the first six issues are just a retelling of the first two episode and volume 2 doesn't have many/any strong or memorable stories. Don't need to buy.
More of a 3.5. Definitely softer stories than the show - which is easily in my TOP 5 fave cartoons of all time - which isn't a bad thing, but it does mean I felt like it was more suitable for actual little kids.
Still, it was nice stepping back into this world, though I felt like the more personal character interactions took a massive backseat in favor of pure action scenes, which is a shame. The Terry and Bruce mentorship is still the Gold standard for this type of relationship and I judge every single other series attempting the same thing against them, but the comic stories really didn't express that nearly as well. You had glimpses of it here and there, which was sweet, but it needed a bit more.
If you are a fan of the stellar animated series of Batman beyond then this 25th Anniversary Compendium is going to be such a fun read. It is filled with comics written by the show's writers and feels like great companion adventures that can be read to satiate your need for more of this incredible premise. If you haven't seen the show then I definitely recommend watching that before reading these.
