What a wonderful conclusion to a great series.
Jayden and Kira’s story has definitely become my favorite. My eyes watered a few times reading this book. I felt their pain, cross roads and happiness. It was great catching up with Taylor and Korey from the other books in this series. Seeing them bonding was heartfelt. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys romance with a little bit of an inspirational message.

This was a very sweet book about a young woman who had recently suffered from a broken engagement. She lives in Indiana and comes to Pennsylvania to care for her aunt who is having her fourth child. Kira did not come to Pennsylvania to meet someone else, she came to recover from the broken engagement. But God has other plans for her and she meets, Jaden, and they fall in love even though she fights it the entire way because she does not want to be hurt again. I felt the book was a little slow at the beginning, but it did pick up.

The Amish Legacy series has been one that I have really enjoyed. The Heart’s Shelter was a very nice wrap up to the series, with Jayden Bontrager finally getting his happily ever after.

Jayden and Kira were quite the match up! They were both very unsure of themselves for a good portion of the story. Jayden had quite a few reasons, including the knowledge that Kira was just in their community temporarily, that had him hesitant to explore a relationship with her. Kira was getting over a broken heart and did not think there was any reason to allow herself to possibly have her heart broken again by jumping into a relationship with a new man, especially when she was so homesick for her family. However, these two were continually drawn to each other and had a rapport that they did not experience with anyone else.

I loved getting to see what was going on in the Bontrager family, with all of the previous couples from the first three books. That has been something very enjoyable throughout this entire series. Of course, you could jump in and only read this novel and probably still enjoy it a lot. However, this series has been one of my favorites and I definitely recommend all of the books. The family went through some rough times as Jayden’s older two brothers struggled with the family dynamics in earlier novels.

I really enjoyed listening to the audio book. The narrator did a good job and kept me actively listening from the start to the finish.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I'm not afraid that he'll hurt me. I am more afraid of what might happen when I allow someone to love me completely. It's more of a fear of the unknown.

Kira is helping out her aunt's family in Pennsylvania while healing her broken heart. She was engaged to be married however, her fiancé broke off their engagement admitting that he was not ready for marriage. She is now wrestling with why and a bruised heart.

When she is out shopping with her young cousin, she is surprised when a young man shows kindness and tenderness to her the little girl. She actually is impressed how easy going he is. The exchange pleasantries and names not knowing that Jayden's step mother is friends with her aunt. Few days later, Jayden and his brother are working on the family's roof.

Jayden and Kira have had different experiences but one thing that they have in common is the strength of the family. They are both struck and impressed with each other and the values they hold. Jayden has never dated ..friendship is the most important thing to him. His relationship with his brothers, father, stepmother and the people of the community. He is intrigued by Kira and can not believe that a man would break up with her. Kira is struck with Jayden loyalty and kindness.

When they both discover that they want more than friendship, they must overcome different fears.

I thought Amy's style was a little different with this one. After you read so many books from one author, you can recognize their style however, this seemed a little different. More traditional and without any English distractions. I enjoyed getting to know Kira and Jayden and appreciated how they did overcome the fears. That is what faith is all about.

A special thank you to Zondervan Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

It’s no secret that I love Amy Clipston’s books. I have read them all, from her Amish fiction to her sweet and clean adult romances.

That said, there is a special place in my heart for the Amish Legacy series. I would have to say it is my favorite Amish series of hers. I got so vested in the family and I have loved following each of the Bontrager men’s stories.

This is Jayden’s story. I have loved him as a character since the first book. He had such a nice way about him and was such a sweet character overall. I’ve been eagerly awaiting his turn to find love. I loved seeing more development to his character and how good he was with kids. Kira wasn’t my favorite heroine but I liked that she and Jayden were open with each other from the beginning. I also liked that she was older than him and thought it didn’t matter because he was mature. I also loved the little friend group that went around doing good deeds for people struggling in the community. That was so sweet.

I believe this is this last book of the series so that definitely made it a little bittersweet for me but I really enjoyed this one. I can’t wait to see what Amy Clipston will write next!!!

Kira is visiting her Aunt in Pennsylvania in order to heal from a broken heart. Her fiancé backed out of their wedding and she needed a change to overcome her grief and shame of not being good enough. She meets the handsome roofer Jayden at the grocery store and then later he and his brothers are hired to work on her Aunt’s house. Very slowly she and Jayden are drawn to each other. He feels like he has nothing to offer the pretty Kira and she fears getting hurt, as well as the uncertainty of when she returns to Indiana.

Amy Clipston weaves a sweet and compelling story that has us turning the pages to see how and when this couple can finally find their way to each other. Her writing is vivid and I found my mouth watering for fresh baked cookies and pie and roast chicken. Reading Amish stories is relaxing for me as it whisks me away to a simpler world of family and faith. A world where people work hard and love deeply. Amy handles the story with just the right amount of realism and emotion. It was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours away from my much more complicated life.

I received an advance copy of this book and my opinion is my own.

As much as I didn't want my time with the Bontrager family to end, I loved reading about Jayden's happily ever after. He was such a sweet, uplifting blend of both Korey's and Tyler's personalities. He really seems like the glue that holds everyone together. He's a peacemaker with the strength to stand up to his brothers, when needed. And I absolutely loved Kira! I could relate so much to her struggle with whether she was ready to be brave enough to risk her heart again after a heartbreak. I could also relate to Jayden's insecurities about whether he'd have a chance with Kira. Amy Clipston writes the sweetest, most perfectly imperfect characters and the Bontrager family, their friends, and the people who join their family through marriage have all embodied this skill so very well. There is so much that can be learned from what Amy's characters experience. I look forward to reading more of Amy's work and think it would be great if more of the books could be set in the same community, just so we can get little tiny visits with the Bontragers here and there.

What a beautiful and wonderful story to end this series which I feel could be picked up again with more stories about these fabulous people who have many more adventures they could share with us. Another 5 star read from one of my most favorite authors, Amy Clipston, to whom I must say a big thank you for my ARC of this book. Jayden was always a sweetheart in the other three books of the series so it was very nice to have a book where he was our male main character. Kira was such a sweetheart from the moment she was introduced to us. What a caring and kind person she was shown to be. A definite female version of Jayden in many ways. I was happy that these two were able to find a way to be together and for the series to conclude with their happiness. Thank you Amy for always making me feel as if I am in Pennsylvania wherever and actually with these characters and no just reading about them. Each and every book of yours is a book to treasure and this book, which I highly recommend will join those other treasures of yours on my shelf.

The Heart's Shelter by Amy Clipston is the fourth book in the Amish Legacy series. There is enough background given that it was easy to dive into this book without reading the other books (I have only read the first one).

The Heart's Shelter is a sweet story of Kira going to Pennsylvania to help her aunt care for her family after the birth of her son. Kira is trying to heal from a broken engagement, and her nieces and nephews (especially Ruby) provide the necessary distraction that she needs.

Jonah is not looking for a relationship. For him, that is a someday dream. However, once he gets to know Kira, that dream doesn't feel so far away. Unfortunately, several obstacles are in the way of him and Kira having a relationship.

In addition to Kira and Jonah, there is a lovely community of characters who round out this story. Kira's character grows as the story develops, and it is interesting to see her step into her calling.

Lauren Berst did a good job with the narration. It was interesting to hear the pronunciations of the Pennsylvania Dutch words, as opposed to trying to figure them out when reading the book.

Thank you to Zondervan, Thomas Nelson Audio, and Net Galley for the opportunity to listen to this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved reading more about Jayden's story. He is probably my favorite character of Bontrager boys. I really liked how the young people in the community stepped up to perform service to those around them. I found Aenti Ellen to be so wise and helpful to Kira and Ruby was adorable!

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

I was lucky enough to get an audio book version of this book as an E-ARC through Net Galley. Thank you to them and Zondervan for the copy for my honest review.

I spent most of my teen/early adult years reading Christian Fiction and my favorite sub genre of that was Amish Fiction. I have read SO many books in this genre that after a while it is hard to find something "new" to me. I will say that I realize I came into this series on book 4 and while some things may be missing I feel informed enough to fill in the gaps. That being said, I thought the love story was very cold then very hot then very cold once more before the conclusion. It was a lot of "I like you, I am jealous of the other girl but no stay away I have been hurt" until then it was "I cant live without you!" and eventually back to the first one. I think I would have like it a lot without the "third act breakup" that was just completely dumb and unnecessary. The letter making everything worse in my opinion and it held no weight in the story ultimately.

I liked the narrator, not a huge fan of one narrator for dual POVs but it was ok. Overall it was an "ok" Amish Fiction but nothing new in the sea of others I have read.

Rating: 1.5/5

I've been on a reading slump since the middle of March, so I thought that this book would be a quick and easy read to help pull me out of it. It was neither quick nor easy, unfortunately.

I thought that the characters were fine. I liked Jayden and I liked Kira. It's just that the book itself was so darn boring. I had to force myself to open this book and keep reading because I was not invested in the situation whatsoever. The entire plot of the book is that Kira comes to live in Pennsylvania to assist her aunt who just had her fourth child and to nurse her broken heart after her fiancé called off their wedding. She meets Jayden and is smitten with him, but she doesn't want to start a relationship because 1) she's not planning on staying and 2) she's trying to get over her broken engagement. That's the entire plot of a 300-page novel. Most of the scenes consist of Jayden and Kira going to gatherings, talking with friends, and going about their daily lives. It's SO BORING. Hardly anything interesting happens until Jayden breaks his arm about 200 pages into the novel, and then it barely affects him afterward. He has a few moments of "oh no, I'm stuck in a cast and can't do anything" and that's it.

Of course we had the obligatory breakup about 250 pages in, even though that was pretty out-of-character for both Jayden and Kira, as both are very kind and caring people and wouldn't hurt each other like that. They mope around for a few pages and Kira then decides that she actually does love Jayden after a single conversation with her aunt. She goes and confesses her love, Jayden takes her back immediately, and they get the happy ending. Yippee, I guess.

I was going to throw a Wii remote (and do you know that those hurt?!) at someone the next time that I read about Kira thinking about how beautiful Jayden was and vice-versa.
With her dark-chocolate-colored eyes, high cheekbones, long neck, ivory skin, and dark-brown hair peeking out from under her prayer covering, Kira was a natural beauty. And when she smiled at him, her face and eyes lit up, making her even more attractive.

Jayden took in Kira, looking beautiful in a red dress that complemented her dark eyes and hair. Her gorgeous face seemed to register the same surprise that he felt.

Yet there was something intriguing about Jayden. Perhaps it was those bright hazel eyes. Or that smile. Or maybe it was his strong, chiseled jaw and those broad shoulders.

Kira's gorgeous chocolate-colored eyes met his over her menu.

She threaded her fingers with his. Her pretty face lit up with a gorgeous smile, and he was mesmerized by how effortlessly beautiful she was.

Jayden's handsome smile brightened even more as he focused those glorious hazel eyes on Kira.

She took in his handsome face and the way that his intelligent hazel eyes sparkled when he smiled, and her heart gave a little kick. She dismissed her body's reaction to him and spun back to face the table.

"Why would you break up with him? He's so handsome!"
As focused as the Amish are on good character instead of looks, it really bothers me that a lot of Amish romances have the main love interests be the most beautiful men and women to ever walk the face of the earth. Not everyone has the beauty of a model. When can I read about ordinary people?

Ah! I nearly forgot to mention the writing style. I like reading Amish romances, even though a majority of them end up being mediocre at best and completely ridiculous at worst, because they are clean books with simple and straightforward writing. Amy Clipston at least has straightforward writing, but some of her descriptions and phrases are just... odd.
Relief filtered through Jayden.

"Philip broke my heart and my trust. As much as I want to believe in love, I'm afraid to trust again. I feel as if I need to put a cover over my heart." [Who talks like this?!]

Happiness flittered through Jayden.

He tried to stop the disappointment crowding his gut.

His warm words sent a tingle trilling down her back.

A rush of heat saturated her body.

His voice sounded husky and sent a shiver dancing down her spine.

His heart took on wings.

Then he leaned forward, and his lips brushed her cheek with a nearly featherlike touch that sent her blood thrumming through her veins.
And my personal favorite:
Kira slipped into the chair beside Jayden, and when their legs brushed, heat shimmied up her leg. Had he felt that too?

And there was a mention of Ruby's "long braids." I thought that Amish girls always wore buns and hid their hair under prayer coverings. I've never heard of them wearing braids before, but oh well.

I probably would have rated this book higher if there was a plot, if Jayden and Kira didn't constantly talk about how pretty and gorgeous and beautiful and handsome they are, and if there weren't all of those goofy descriptions.

The Heart's Shelter by Amy Clipston
(An Amish Legacy Novel Book 4)
Kira has no interest in dating and putting down roots in Pennsylvania—that is, until she finds a kindred spirit in Jayden Bontrager.
Kira Detweiler doesn’t plan to be in Lancaster County for long. She’s left her family in Indiana to help her aunt after the birth of her fourth boppli. Or at least that’s what she tells people. When Jayden and Kira strike up a friendship, they are each drawn to the other’s gentle and humble demeanor, and they feel things for one another unlike anything they’ve felt before. But Kira is torn between her heart and her home. She sees no point in pursuing a relationship with Jayden when she doesn’t plan to put down roots in Pennsylvania. The last thing she needs is another heartbreak.
Will Jayden and Kira be able to overcome the obstacles in their path to find the future they both dream of?
In this fourth and final book of the Amish Legacy Series, readers will find out if the youngest Bontrager brother will get his happily ever after.
This is Kira Detweiler and Jayden Bontrager's story.
Stan and I were wondering if Kira might consider coming out to Lancaster County to help me when the baby is born. I will certainly have my hands full, and I would love to not only spend time with her but also have the help. Please let me know what Kira thinks. Love to you all, Ellen.” She looked up from the letter and focused on Kira. “What do you think about that?”
Kira’s stomach dropped. “She wants me to come to Pennsylvania to help her?”
“That’s what she said.” Mamm nodded. “You know she’ll need the help.”
“Are you going to go?” Maribeth asked.
Kira hurried over to the cart, where the man spoke softly to
Liesel, and Ruby smiled up at him.
“What’s your doll’s name?” he asked her.
Liesel wiped her eyes and sniffed. “Baby.”
“Baby.” The man looked at the doll. “What a nice name. Hi,
Baby. I’m Jayden.” When he turned to meet Kira’s gaze, he flashed
that warm smile. “She’d thrown her doll. I thought I’d hand it to
her and try to calm her down.”
Kira smiled. “Danki. You seem to be a natural with kinner.”
“Not really.” His expression became sheepish. “I just like to
play with my bruderskinner and baby schweschder.”
I recommend reading this book.

Amy Clipston is one of my favorites within the Amish fiction genre, and An Amish Legacy has moved its way up on my list of all time favorite series. I've been waiting to read Jayden's story ever since his character was first introduced in Foundation of Love, and it definitely did not disappoint. This book was sweet, heart wrenching and swoon worthy, and was the perfect conclusion to this beautiful series.

Jayden and Kira were characters that were easy to root for right from the start. Kira comes to her aunt and uncle's farm with a broken heart and a lot of hurt she's holding onto. She's hesitant to trust her heart to anyone ever again, but she never planned on Jayden. Jayden is a sweet, God fearing man who loves his family and would do anything for anyone in need. The more time the two spend together, the more feelings start to develop, but both are unsure how to move past the insecurities they carry to find their own way to happily ever after.

Moving and heartwarming, The Heart's Shelter was a beautiful illustration that God always has a plan for His children, if we can only trust Him to reveal it. The writing was engaging, the characters felt like old friends, the romance was both beautiful and swoon worthy, and I loved getting to revisit previous characters from the series.

I'll still say personally that the first and the third books ended up being my favorite overall, but this one was definitely a wonderful story in its own right, and I would highly recommend both this title and this series overall.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Amy Clipston has delivered another fantastic Amish fiction title, and I can't wait to see what she'll have in store for her reader's next.

Thanks so much to Zondervan for allowing me to read and review this one!

The Heart's Shelter is Amy Clipston's 4th (and final, I believe) book in her Amish Legacy series. This books tells the story of youngest brother, Jayden Bontrager (my personal favorite of the Bontrager brothers.)

Jayden Bontrager has watched his two older brothers struggle with each other most of his life. His role in the family always seemed to be the peacemaker. Now that both brothers have fallen in love and married and their relationship is one of mutual respect and caring, Jayden can finally concentrate on his own future. He'd love to marry and have a family of his own, but none of the local girls have piqued his interest. When one of their roofing jobs takes him to the Amish community next to his, he meets Kira Detweiler, a young woman from Indiana visiting her aunt in Pennsylvania. She intrigues him. Could she be the one?

Kira Detweiler jumped at the chance to leave her community and help her aunt following the birth of her youngest cousin. She needed to get away from her ex-fiance who called off their wedding just weeks before the event. Taking her broken heart with her, she vows to have nothing to do with dating or even attending the youth singings. Plus, why get involved with anyone in Pennsylvania when she fully intends to return to the bosom of her family in Indiana? Meeting Jayden puts a kink in that plan. His kindness, understanding, and willingness to "just be friends" with her, soothe her troubled heart. As they spend time together (not dating!) will Kira begin to see that maybe her heart wants to be entrusted into Jayden's keeping?

I've read all four of the books, and I think I'd say this one was neck and neck with Bontrager father, Duane's story for my favorite of the series. I really liked Jayden every time he appeared in any of the books. His gentleness and obvious love for his father and brothers made him easy to like.

Readers who love Amish romance or just who love sweet, tender romance stories, will enjoy The Heart's Shelter. I know I did!

The Hearts Shelter
Amy Clipston
Helping her aunt who has given birth to her fourth boppli (baby) gives Kira Detweiler the opportunity to leave Indiana and travel to Lancaster, Pennsylvania; her fiancé has broken off their engagement leaving her puzzled and heartbroken. She meets Jayden Bontrager while shopping with her cousin. She is impressed with his demeanor; he is humble, gentle, and easy going. They see each other again a few days later while he is working on the roof of her aunt’s home. Jayden and Kira form a friendship, but both are guarding their hearts. Kira is homesick for her family in Indiana; she has not plan to stay in Lancaster. She sees no reason to consider a closer relationship with Jayden when she plans to return to Indiana; she does not want her heart broken again. Twenty-three-year-old Jayden is not searching for a wife. While he admires his brothers and hopes that someday he will have a life like theirs, he is in no hurry. He realizes Kira does not plan to stay in Pennsylvania causing him to hesitate to consider forming a long-term relationship with her. However, they are drawn together in a way neither has experienced before.
This is the final book in the Amish Legacy series. I have not read the first there however, this book stands well alone. I enjoyed the interaction between Jayden and Kira. Their love was not rushed, it was gentle, pure and strong. There were several things about this book that I enjoyed: the main characters, the group of friends that did good things for others and the way their relationship grew from friendship to love.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book for review.

Book 4 of An Amish Legacy was the perfect end to this lovely series. Jayden is the youngest of the Bontrager family. Throughout this series you get to see him grow and mature. Jayden was there for his father after the loss of his mother and he was there for both of his brothers as they found love and began their families. Would Jayden be as lucky?
Kira left Indiana after having her heart broken. She needed time for her heart to heal. When her cousin asked for her help in Pennsylvania after giving birth Kira jumped at the chance to leave Indiana.
While visiting her cousin Kira and Jayden meet and a friendship is formed. Through various gatherings they are drawn to each other. However, Kira is not ready to trust her heart to the kind man that makes her feel seen. Jayden has a heart of gold and would never intentionally hurt anyone. Can his kindness bring healing to a broken heart?
How can Kira leave her family and yet how can she leave the man that taught her to truly love and trust again?
If you can't tell I loved this book. Jayden has been one of my favorite characters throughout this series. He was the voice of calm and reason. He was there for each of his family members when they needed him most. I love his love story and hope you will as well.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was so excited to get to read Jayden’s story! Jayden has always been the glue in his family. The calming voice that everyone needs to hear, and the mediator between his brothers. If anyone deserves a good love story it’s Jayden. His life hasn’t always been an easy one, losing his mom at a young age hurt his family deeply. But when his father finds love again, Jayden was the first to want to see his father happy, even if that meant seeing him with someone new.

Jayden’s family owns a roofing business, and while it isn’t his passion, he’s good at what he does. Unlike his brothers, he doesn’t mind working on the crew instead of running it. When Jayden meets Kira, he charms her right away. Not knowing if they will see each other again, they are both delighted when they get a chance to get to know each other more. Kira has had her heart broken before, and Jayden isn’t in a hurry to get married. Can they overcome the obstacles that seem to want to stop them from finding their true happiness? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Amish Fiction. I enjoyed watching Jayden and Kira get to know each other and the different dynamics with their families. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Zondervan Fiction and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is the fourth and final book of in the Amish Legacy Series centered around the Bontrager brother, Jayden. He is only 23 and sees how his brothers have found happiness with their wives and families and wonders if he will ever be able to find that as well.

Kira Detweiler has come to Pennsylvania temporarily to help her aunt with her children when she has her fourth child. Secretly, she also has left her home in Indiana to try to recover from a broken heart after her fiancé calls off their wedding. She declares she is not ready for another relationship, nor will be for a long time.

Her aunt encourages her to get to know some of the other people in the area. She finds many new friends, young and old. When she meets Jayden, they seem to have an instant connection, however, she is unwilling to open her heart, nor is she willing to leave her family in Indiana should a permanent relationship develop.

As time passes will Kira and Jayden be able to get past questions and concerns regarding a relationship between them?

This is a sweet Amish romance and a quick read. I highly recommend it to those who like to read Amish romances. Thanks to Zondervan and NetGalley for the advance copy of this book.

I've enjoyed this sweet series very much.
I feel that Clipston has hit the tough subjects head on and made them realistic. Grief never goes away and neither does missing someone.
Jaden's story is the best one!. He's my favorite brother because he's just so laid back and takes everything in stride. Pretty much like my own husband does. I wish I were more like them. He'salso the sweetest boy.
Kira is also a very nice girl. I liked her a lot too.
The very one thing that I didn't like was the repetitive conversation was the different reasons why they couldn't be together and it drove me nuts. I kept thinking why didn't or couldn't see what right in front of their faces! A wonderful second chance at love.
I still finished the novel in one day though. I had to see if they'd work whatever was in their pathway that's keeping them from happiness.
I do want to mention how cute the cover is. The colors in the background are awesome.
5 stars for a well written and realistic characters that will pull you into their lives from day one.
I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Although this is Book 4 in author Amy Clipston’s Amish Legacy series, you can read it as a stand alone.

I’ve read most of Clipston’s books, including the others in this series. Her characters in The Heart’s Shelter confused me a bit. I liked Jayden; he aspires to be a good man in every way. Kira, although older, seemed younger and immature. It honestly felt like a young adult story; something for teen girls.

It was good to visit again with some of the characters from other books but I did find this story very repetitive. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not a “bad” story. There is much to like in it. For instance, Kira struggles about where her heart really is, and Clipston wrote that well. You could feel her angst. This character grew as the story progressed and became more mature, as shown by her desire to help others. If you enjoy Amish fiction do give this series a try.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

The Heart's Shelter
by Amy Clipston

This is Amy Clipston’ s fourth book in the Amish Legacy series. Release day is 06 Feb 2024.

Ms. Clipston has outdone herself with this book.
The characters are realistic and the story line is full of emotion and appealing to all. As you read the story, you are pulled into the setting, and plot.

Kira Detweiler and Jayden Bontrager are just right for each, but neither want to admit there is an attraction between them. They both have reasons to be skittish of relationships.
Can these two move forward with a relationship allowing God to guide their lives.?
I highly recommend this 5-star book.
Thank you Zondervan Fiction for allow me to receive and ARC of this great 5 star read I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Here is a couple that I loved rooting for. Both Kira and Jayden are both sweet and giving people. Kira has traveled to Pennsylvania to help her aunt that has recently given birth to her fourth baby. Kira also needs time away from Indiana to heal her broken heart. At their first meeting, Kira is impressed when Jayden soothes her upset toddler cousin. Even though they are both attracted to each other, Kira isn't sure if she can trust any man with her heart. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Kira's young cousin Rudy is so precious and I love how Kira is so ready to include in her in her activities. I also love how Kira and Jayden are so involved with their families and their community. This is my favorite book in the series.

Kira Detweiler has left her family in Indiana to help her aunt in Lancaster County. At least that is what she tells herself and those around. her. Actually she is recovering from a broken heart. Slowly healing and pondering her future, the last thing she planned was to meet Jayden Bontrager. Jayden has watched his brothers meet and marry their ideal spouses. Praying to one day meet his perfect match, Jayden isn't in any hurry at 23. However, Jayden and Kira start a friendship that slowly turns to more. Will either be ready to share a life? Or will the obstacles be too much? I really enjoyed our visit back to the Bontrager family. The characters are very relatable. The story draws the reader as we feel the pain and hurt, the love and acceptance that they face. I received a copy through Netgally. A review was not required.

In this fourth and final book we get to revisit all the Bontrager family. But this story is about the last of the brothers Jayden. He meets Kira who has come Lancaster to help her aunt. Kira is also getting over a broken heart and is not interested in meeting anyone. Jayden forms a friendship with her and feels a strong connection, but how can he ever help Kira see that he isn't like the guy that broke her heart. As their friendship grows so does the bond they both feel in their heart. But can Kira let go of her hurt and move on and can she leave her family in Indiana that she's so close to and make a life in Lancaster. I really enjoyed this book it kept me interested till the end. I was given an Audio version of this book by Netgalley. The narrator was good and made the book enjoyable to listen too. #ZondervanPublisher #Netgalley #AmyClipston #Amishfiction #Amishlegacyseries

Loved this story as it took us back to see what has happened to different characters we have read about in Amy’s other books. I love the way she intertwined the story of Jayden and all that he wanted and needed in his life to his brothers who we had read about in previous books. Also his step mother Chrystal and how the families had grown together and were happy.
We are introduced to Kira as she has moved from the Indiana community to Pennsylvania to help her aunt and mend a broken heart. Amy’s books show us that even when we are at our lowest GOD has a plan for us and we just need to stop, pray and wait for his answer.
I would highly recommend this book not only for all of her followers but it would be a wonderful edition to any teenager’s collection as to how wonderful it is to wait for the right person to come along.

The Heart's Shelter tells the story of a heart spurned and the beauty that can come from ashes. Just when Kira feels like her world has ended due to a broken engagement, God leads her to true love that was His plan for her all along. Kira faces some really hard choices on whether she is willing to risk her heart to love again wholly after hurt and whether she is willing to leave behind the family she has always known to step out in faith to start a family of her own. This is the 4th book in the Legacy series but reads well also as a stand alone. The narrator did really well with the story, including the Amish verbiage throughout. Easy and lovely read all around.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
