I like a non-fiction self-help book that truly makes you think—and “But God Can” by Becky Kiser certainly does.
The book is organized in three parts: Forget the Former Things, Let God Do a New Thing, and Finding Your Way in the Wilderness. The conversational tone of these messages is enjoyable and approachable, and I like how they prompt me dig deep, reflect, and grow.
Each chapter helps me learn something new about myself—through my own eyes, and through God’s. And some of the most powerful parts are the prayers, questions, and challenges at the end of each chapter.
If you’ve ever felt like you aren’t enough (and who hasn’t at some point?) this book is sure to encourage and inspire you and make you see yourself, your worth, and your importance a bit differently.
First Line: Sometimes we are so intent on moving forward that we refuse to look back.
